Question for you but also all the leather dykes and faggots more experienced than me. Where should I look for (real) leather that's at a decent price? I don't have a ton of money but I'd be willing to save up if there's a place people tend to go for good leather. (And yes, I thrift, I just haven't gotten lucky yet haha)
I’m having @doxxienecropsy answer here as a leather lover!
If you’re buying finished leather pieces, craftsmanship rightly so can drive up the price. With a bit of luck you can get around this by looking for any local shops that sell recycled textiles or any other kind of finished pieces by weight. They’re further and fewer between, but they’re hopefully around where you’re at.
Similar advice for if you were trying to find leather for crafting. Either taking apart junky things that are falling apart already (or taking a knife to weird leather couches left out in the rain to die) are good shouts for that.
It’s a hard fact that genuine leather isn’t the most accessible thing to get into because of prohibitive prices and fewer things made with real leather. Check out manmadeskins on IG for some cool takes on vegan leather if that’s up your alley, but otherwise I’m mostly just hoping you get lucky!
Hope this helps! Followers feel free to add your tips and advice as always 💜

Rhea Raj's 'Taste That (Mwah)' Proves Being Hot Is a State of Mind Rhea Raj has had a busy year. If she isn’t dropping singles like “Devil In a Dress” to go viral on TikTok or having her statement music video featured in this month's Vogue India, then she must be putting on a virtual performance in the metaverse for Viviene Tam’s New York Fashion Week after party. She’s not slowing down. Her newest single, “Taste That (Mwah)” premieres today, along with another show-stopping music video. “Taste That (Mwah)” is a bouncy production fit for dancing coupled with catchy lyrics (“Say you like ‘em bad, well I’m the baddest/ Once you got me I become a habit”) and smoky vocal delivery. In the video, Raj is sultry, bronze and fierce, not dissimilar to her songs. In the singer’s own words, “Taste That (Mwah)” is a "fearless declaration of self-love, confidence and sexuality."“Growing up as an Asian girl in the US, I felt like society wanted me to tame all of those things and this song challenges that by framing myself as the object of desire,” Raj says of the track. “Feeling hot and powerful is all about your state of mind, and I want anyone who listens to this song and watches its music video to feel empowered to feel that way too, and express themselves unapologetically.” Related | Shady Suitors Beware of Rhea Raj's 'Venom'The New Jersey native’s music is influenced by the Bollywood beats she grew upon. She got her start in music at her mother’s studio learning both Bollywood and classical Indian dance from a young age. A 2000s baby at heart, she pairs one familiar genre of music with another, incorporating futuristic pop elements à la Britney Spears into her sound. From the global influence of her songs to the labels worn in her videos, Raj is intentional when it comes to her artistry. “The music video is boldly Pop. I wanted it to feel like a fashion show, with futuristic- meets- 2000s-inspired glam looks and statement pieces by ManMadeSkins, LaQuan Smith and Michael Ngo. It’s a performance visual directed by Hector Toro and David Fernandez, with jazz-funk dance sequences choreographed by Hero J Thomas,” Raj added. Marta Del Rio Lends Her Avant-Garde Eye to KitchenAid Marta Del Rio has been styling and crafting some of the most memorable looks for artists and pop culture icons for years, from Lady Gaga to Billie Eilish and Paris Hilton. But she’s also lent her creative chops to consumer brands like Apple, Estee Lauder and Fendi, making her a fitting partner for new territory like kitchen appliances. This week, Del Rio is unveiling a stylish new project that’s been in the works with KitchenAid, the brand known for equipping kitchen lovers with all kinds of essentials. In partnership with Whirlpool’s in-house agency, WoW Studios, together they designed a capsule collection of seven one-of-a-kind designs inspired by KitchenAid’s most iconic products: the Artisan Stand Mixer and K400 Blender. Both products are being released in a new Hibiscus shade, which KitchenAid has named its 2023 Color of the Year. (Past KitchenAid Colors of the Year have included Beetroot and Honey.) Hibiscus, a vivid fuschia shade with a matte finish, was chosen for its nod to the Hibiscus flower and the global resurgence of maximalism."We’ve been tracking the evolution of the color pink since 2017," said Brittni Pertijs, lead color, material & finish designer of KitchenAid. “Beginning with Millennial Pink and advancing to deeper hues as of late, pink is bringing boldness to life in its color and energy. We took that as the spark to create Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a color that draws us to something exciting.” Del Rio’s collection, which will be presented on the eve of New York Fashion Week on February 9, features sculptural, strong and avant-garde (her signature) silhouettes and is rendered entirely in that Hibiscus colorway. It merges industrial and organic references with the distinct lines and curves of KitchenAid appliances.“KitchenAid is a brand with an instantly recognizable design language, which made celebrating the new Hibiscus color a natural fit,” said Del Rio. She also invited a group of New York’s emerging fashion vanguard to each create a full look inspired by Hibiscus as well as KitchenAid’s design language. The guest designers include Jackson Wiederhoeft, Tara Babylon, Tia Adeola, Bach Mai and Man Made Skins.“It was a pleasure to be able to invite five New York-based fashion labels to expand this core collection,” Del Rio adds. “Each of their custom editions for this project showcases their design hallmarks and celebrates the KitchenAid Color of the Year, Hibiscus.”STAND MIXER: ®/™ ©2023 KitchenAid.
