Getting Lost
Asterin x Reader
Tumblr media
The carriage driver refused to take you very far past the outskirts of Briarcliff, stopping the horses as he leaped from the coach. As soon as you crossed into the Witch Kingdom, the man tossed your bags out of the trunk, shooing you out of the carriage seat as he left you in the dust.
You sighed, realizing you should have known it was too good to be true that someone was willing to take you all the way to Crochan castle. The late Summer sun was beating down on you as you clumsily grabbed your bags, beginning the rest of the dreadful journey on foot.
It was clear how many hours had passed by the setting sun and the ache in your feet. There was nothing and no one around for miles, and you were soon to be alone in the dark. Stopping for a seat on your luggage to rest your sore feet, you read over the letter from your friend, Elide for encouragement.
You hadn’t seen Elide since she had been taken to Morath by her uncle, believing that you would never be able to see her again. You wept with joy when you received the unexpected letter from her, informing you that her uncle was dead and that she was married to the Crochan Queen, Manon Blackbeak. Leaping at the invitation to visit her, you sent her a letter notifying her that you were on your way and left the next morning.
Panic filled your bones as you considered a horrifying option. What if Elide never received your letter? What if you were doomed to wander through the Witch Kingdom, with no hope of anyone finding you? Tears threatened to fall at the thought, lower lip wobbling when your thoughts were interrupted by a thunderclap.
Of course, you thought. Just my luck that it’s going to rain. But when you looked up, you didn’t see rainclouds - you saw something much more terrifying. It wasn’t a thunderclap you had heard, but the flap of a wyvern’s wings as it flew straight towards you. After a frantic search, you realized that there was nowhere to hide from the beast. You were left to accept your fate.
As the beast neared, you stood your ground, hopeful for any confidence that might help you as you calculated your scarily low odds of taking on the creature. But instead of swooping for attack, the wyvern’s wings beat upwards, slowing its descent to land a distance in front of you. It was at that moment when you finally took in the sight of it - a shockingly beautiful, light blue wyvern - with a rider. You struggled to see through the dirt that hung in the air from the wyvern’s landing, only seeing the outline of a tall blonde woman as she dismounted the beast.
She moved towards you, her features coming into focus and taking your breath away. She was stunning, with blonde hair and golden eyes, a beautiful smile lighting up her face as she called your name. You realized that she must be a witch, knees almost buckling with instant relief as you recognized her as your savior.
“We’ve been looking for you everywhere. Elide will be so glad I found you - she’s been worried sick.” The striking blonde grabbed your bags for you, turning back towards the wyvern. “Come on, then,” she called over her shoulder. “I’m Asterin, by the way.” Asterin, you whispered to yourself - the sound of her name on your tongue made your heart flutter, and you knew this woman would be your ruin in the best way.
After a nauseating flight back to the grand castle, Asterin took your bags, letting you know they’d be in your room. Elide ran out, almost knocking you over with a hug, tears staining cheeks as the two of you embraced, a weight lifted off your shoulders as you saw your friend finally free. Feeling eyes on you, you glanced over Elide’s shoulder to see another stunning woman, similar to Asterin but with white hair - watching you with a small smile.
Elide pulled back from your hug. “Right, this is Manon,” she said, pulling the witch queen by her hand as she snuggled into her side. You couldn’t help the smile that took over your features, immensely happy for Elide. “It’s so nice to meet you, Manon.”
The couple walked you up to your room, letting you know that a bath was drawn for you and food would be brought to you, as it was late at night by now, and you were desperate for rest after your journey. Bidding them goodnight, you opened the door to your room to see Asterin unpacking your clothes into the dresser. “Oh, you don’t need to do that!” you said in an apologetic tone.
Asterin had been so kind to you, and you were admittedly flustered by the beautiful witch’s presence, much less her going through your underwear. She turned to smile at you, her bright expression taking your breath away once again. “It’s my pleasure. I’m excited to meet Elide’s friend who I’ve heard so much about. You seem like an incredible person,” Asterin spoke softly, almost shy sounding as she gazed at you with those hypnotizing golden eyes.
You were enraptured by her presence, unable to think about anything except that smile and how you’d do anything to see it again. Asterin noticed your focus on her lips, the moment becoming heated as you inched closer to each other. Without realizing what you were doing, you brought up your thumb to trace her bottom lip. She sucked in a breath, drawing your attention back to her eyes, wide as she searched your face.
Whatever Asterin saw in your expression must have encouraged her - brought her own hand up to your chin, surprisingly gentle as she tilted your lips to brush softly against hers. You leaned in further, deepening the kiss for a moment before she pulled away. That devastating smile graced her features once more before she leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips once more. “Good night,” Asterin whispered as she moved towards the door.
Asterin turned around, hand on the doorknob as she bit her lip. “I look forward to getting to know you more,” she said before slipping out the door. You collapsed onto the bed, a laugh bubbling up as you grew giddy with excitement. What luck to get lost in the Witch Kingdom.

Melting Ice
A Malide One Shot (940 words)
Masterlist  ~ AO3 Link
@hellasblessed Heard you needed some cheering up today<3 I was gonna just write a little headcannon, but then I thought “Hey, what’s better than a little idiots to lovers to brighten your day?” and this happened:)
(also i finally wrote something who even is this?!)
Tumblr media
“Did you know that icicles make the perfect murder weapon?”
Elide looked to her side, at Manon, who was wearing a thoughtful look on her face. Ahead of them, Aelin and Dorian were kinda walking, kinda wrestling, as they all made their way toward the small lake that had frozen over, this winter being much colder than usual.
Smiling faintly, Elide said, “Because they melt, basically erasing all evidence?”
“Exactly!” Manon exclaimed. “When I tried explaining this to Dorian, he looked at me as if I’d actually murdered someone with an icicle.”
Elide chuckled as her friend dramatically rolled her eyes, though she couldn’t ignore the way her stomach fluttered as Manon got into an animated rant about murder weapons and their pros and cons. She was beautiful when she got excited, her strange, golden eyes lighting up with enthusiasm.
Far ahead, Elide could glimpse the lake, and all the butterflies fluttering around in her stomach quickly turned to lead.
Today was the first day of winter break, their last one together, before they were all spreading across the country to go to different colleges, and Aelin had been planning these two weeks for months, determined to do everything “before it was too late”. Elide had tried explaining that no one was dying, but Aelin wouldn’t budge, so today, they were going ice skating.
Which Elide had never done before.
Which she was now doing in front of Manon.
They’d been friends for years, so they were pretty comfortable around each other, but when you also had a massive crush on someone, you naturally wanted to impress them.
Not that anything would ever happen between them. Manon was so cool and beautiful and unbothered by everything and everyone, and Elide was...well, Elide.
She had admitted it to herself ages ago; Manon would always see her as just a friend. And a pretty pathetic one at that.
As they reached the edge of the lake, ice glinting, Elide sat down and began pulling on her ice skates. It was an old pair she’d borrowed from Aelin, tiny enough to fit her freakishly small feet.
By the time she’d figured out how to tighten one of them, Manon was already out on the ice, looking as if she’d done nothing but this her whole life.
“Hey Blackbeak, can you please suck at something, so us mortals can feel a little superior for once too?!” Aelin called from her spot, her and Dorian more interested in drinking hot chocolate and eating Evalin Ashryvers famous Christmas cookies.
Manon merely laughed and gave Aelin the middle finger.
Just as Elide had put on the other skate too, Manon glided over, stopping right in front of her, as graceful as ever.
Elide tried to get up, but she couldn’t get both her legs beneath her, and they were shaking with the effort to try and stay balanced. God, this was humiliating.
“I uh, kinda haven’t done this before,” she stammered, before daring a glance up at Manon, who was probably having the time of her life right now, watching her lose her footing over and over again.
But Manon wasn’t laughing or mocking her, she had a patient look on her face, and she seemed almost shy as she said, “Do you want some help, perhaps? I can teach you a little.”
“Yeah, that would be, uh, great,” Elide smiled, unable to meet Manon’s eyes.
Manon reached out a hand, and Elide took it, pulling herself up. Her legs trembled even more, and she felt like she would fall at any moment, but she held onto Manon. It also didn’t help that it was freezing outside.
Noticing her shivering, Manon suddenly reached behind her and pulled off her deep green scarf. “Take this,” she said, practically pushing it into Elide’s hands.
“But won’t you get cold?” Elide asked, before she let out an embarrassing yelp as she nearly fell again, regaining her balance at the last moment.
“Nah, I’m fine,” Manon said sheepishly. “Here, I’ll help you.” Then she leaned even closer, tucking the scarf around Elide’s neck, the fabric soft and warm. Elide could have thought her hands lingered for a moment, but she was probably just imagining things.
Manon carefully started to lead her further onto the eyes, all the while uttering small encouragements.
“Are you sure you’re not cold?” Elide asked again, once she was sure she wouldn’t fall on her ass within the next seconds.
“I’m sure,” Manon said, a faint smile on her lips. Though Elide didn’t believe her, for her cheeks were all red.
-
From the sideline, Aelin and Dorian watched them, a mix of awe and exasperation on their faces. “I’m gonna tell them,” Dorian said after a while, witnessing a blush spread on Manon’s pale cheeks after Elide nearly fell, and had to grab onto her arm.
“No you won’t. As much as their obliviousness makes me wanna bang my head into a wall, repeatedly, it’s also kinda cute,” Aelin pause for a moment. “And entertaining.”
Dorian groaned. “With this speed, we’ll all have graduated college by the time they realize they’re both madly in love with each other.”
On the ice, Manon was now facing Elide, holding both of her hands to steady the other girl as she made her way forward, looking a lot like Bambi. They were laughing as they stumbled around, caught in their own bubble.
“No, I feel like things are about to change,” Aelin whispered, her eyes glowing. “Really, really soon.”
And as the snow begun to fall, once more, Aelin and Dorian staggered onto the ice, joining their lovestruck friends.

Birthday Banquet
WORD COUNT: 1375
SUMMARY: Elide and Manon’s first daughter is turning four, and what better way to celebrate than a small, family picnic in their local field.
"Quick, Mommy!" Ash squealed, rushing into the field, "We have to get the best spot!"
It was a warm day in mid-August, the sun shining down in Adarlan and prompting everyone out of their houses. Luckily, most people had gone to the beach, leaving the field near their house almost empty. An old couple were sat having lunch toward their left, a group of teens doing the same toward the back and a few people walking their dogs, but that was it. The perfect time for a picnic in honour of Ash's fourth birthday.
Elide closed the car door behind Ash, carrying the picnic basket and moving around to the other side of the car that faced the field. Manon was already opening the other door, unclipping Tarin from her seat. The six-month-old was ready to go, pulling on her mother's hair as she lifted her to her chest. Elide reached in to grab the backpack that held both Ash and Tarin's essentials, stopped by Manon who was already there and ready, "Don't worry, baby. I'll get these and you go after the birthday girl."
Looking at how content Tarin seemed and how Manon was clearly able to carry the bag and the baby, Elide gave a grateful smile, collecting the blankets from the trunk and hurrying after Ash who was already halfway across the grass. She was wearing a playsuit with puppies and kittens all over, something she had personally chosen when Elide had brought her along to the store. Her matching bucket hat was now in her hand, as opposed to on her head and stopping her from getting a headache from the sun.
"Hat on please, Ashy," Elide smiled, stopping beside her daughter, "Have you decided where you wanna sit?"
"Right here," Ash grinned, sitting immediately into a criss-cross position on the grass. Elide looked around, first at Manon making her way across the field, backpack hanging off one shoulder and Tarin against her chest, and then at the collection of trees, shaded from the sun and offering a view of the lake. That was the ideal place, especially with the heat, but she knew once Ash had decided on something it was final. And, it was her birthday.
"Here's fine, but put your hat on please otherwise we'll have to move to the shade, okay?" Elide set the basket down, laying out the blanket before joining her daughter on the ground.
"Kay, Mommy," she sighed, putting on her hat before diving immediately for the food as Elide opened up the basket. Manon soon reached the blanket, letting out a sigh as she placed the backpack to the side and settled down. Tarin was sat in her lap, determined to crawl onto the blanket and around the field despite the fact all she could do was roll.
"You okay?" Elide whispered, watching as Manon moved Tarin to her side, letting the baby grab at the grass, her chubby fingers pulling at the green strands. Ash was still snooping through the basket, sipping on a juice box happily as she searched for what she wanted to eat first.
Manon nodded, unzipping the bag and pulling out Tarin's hat and toys, "Yeah, I just would have preferred to sit in the shade."
Elide nodded knowingly, letting out a breathy chuckle as she lent to kiss her wife's cheek. "Does someone not like the sun?" she pouted, finally reaching for the basket and beginning to unwrap the sandwiches, giving the first to a very inpatient Ash who was practically buzzing.
Tarin gripped one of her toys, shaking it before putting it into her mouth, clamping down on it happily as Manon secured her hat to her head. The little one had begun teething, her first tooth officially through and the second on its way. She hadn't been too fussy, but there had been some moments where only a feed from Elide or a cuddle from Manon was enough to soothe her. Manon rolled her eyes playfully, taking her sandwich from the basket and turning to her wife, "You joke but I was more worried about Tarin. The car was warm enough, I don't want her getting sick where she's too hot."
Elide nodded, passing Ash a bottle of water, the four-year-old happy with her sandwich as she laid on her stomach, tickling her sister's toes and making her babble with a gummy smile. "She's fine, babe," she insisted, "Look at her, she's happy. We'll take a walk in the shade after we've eaten. Take her shoes and socks off if you're worried, but her cheeks aren't red or anything."
She just hummed, already reaching to remove the shoes and little floral socks Elide had dressed her in that morning. In the process, Ash pulled back, crumbs on her cheeks as she looked into the basket again, fingers searching. "Mommy," she started, "Can I have a cookie?"
"You absolutely can, birthday girl. I even added some of those yummy chocolate brownies Aunt Aelin made. Would you like one of those, too?" Elide asked, knowing she didn't even need to ask for Ash to want something that involved chocolate.
"Yes, pleaseee! Mama and Tarin want one?" Ash took the cookie first, taking hold of the brownie Elide offered her and munching down immediately into the chocolate cake.
"I'd love one," Manon smiled, reaching out her left hand, the other palm settled in front of Tarin, the babe gripping onto her mother's fingers with her chubby fists.
Elide pulled another out of the box Aelin had put them in, passing one to Manon and turning back to Ash who was eating both the cookie and the brownie, taking one bite of the other and then the next, "Rin can't have any yet, Ashy. She doesn't eat food, remember? Just Mommy's milk."
"Boobie milk!" Ash giggled, chocolate melting around her lips and on her fingers as she snacked. Elide only rolled her eyes playfully, nibbling on the sausage rolls and pastries they'd brought for more of a savoury treat.
"Speaking of," started Manon, lifting Tarin to her chest as she began to grumble, her hands in tight fists as she let out a small cry, "I think someone might be hungry."
Elide brushed her fingers on the napkins they'd brought, reaching for Tarin who was happily passed over, knowing she was getting what she wanted as she rested against her mother's chest. She stood, keeping Tarin close to her, her butt and head cupped by Elide's hands, "I'm going to take a walk with her, keep her in the cool while she feeds. Can you make sure Ash cleans that chocolate off her face and she eats something savoury? I don't need her buzzing off chocolate when she also has her cake later."
Manon nodded, already reaching for the wipes in the backpack, "Of course. Take her over to the trees, baby. Do you need a cloth or a bib?"
With one hand securely around Tarin, Elide started pulling down her dress strap, manoeuvring the front down so she could feed comfortably. She didn't tend to wear bras anymore, not when Tarin needed feeding every couple of hours. "Um, yeah. I'll just take a cloth, thanks love," she smiled, turning to Ash, "Mommy's just gonna feed Rin. Stay with Mama and let her know if you get too hot or anything, okay?"
Ash nodded happily, sipping on her water and waving with the other hand, "Kay, Mommy. Bye Rin-Rin!"
Taking the cloth from Manon, she rested it on her shoulder, lifting Tarin's little wrist to wave back at Ash as they made their way across the grass. Once they reached the trees, the shadow kissing their skin and offering a gentle breeze from the lake, Elide pulled down the front of her dress completely, letting Tarin latch onto her nipple as she began to rock, watching her precious baby girl as she sucked happily, eyes closed and lashes brushing her cheeks. She couldn't believe that she was already six months and that Ash was officially four. It felt like yesterday when she and Manon had started this whole process, and now here they were: two beautiful children and the most perfect family she could have ever dreamed of.

malide + kisses/cuddling/fluff
Fluffy Malide is the best kind. ^.^
——–
“They’re going to be looking for you.”
“I don’t care.” Manon pressed a kiss under Elide’sear. “They can wait. You’re more important.”
“Manon!” Elide squirmed out of Manon’s arms.“You’re supposed to be in a strategy meeting right now. And I was just supposedto be bringing you tea. Which, by the way, is getting cold.” She nodded at theno longer steaming mug.
Manon shrugged. “Screw strategy meetings. Screwtea, for that matter. Stay with me for a while. You’ve barely sat down since weleft.”
Elide sighed heavily, rolled her eyes, andsnuggled into Manon’s side. “Where did you even find this many pillows?”
“I have my ways.” Manon stroked Elide’s hair withone steel-taloned finger. “I missed you, you know.”
“You did?”
Manon nodded. “Every minute after I left you. I’vespent the last weeks wondering how I could’ve done that. Left you there on yourown… I didn’t even know if you were alive.”
“Hey.” Elide tipped Manon’s face towards her. “I’mhere. I’m okay.” She smiled. “Better than ever, in fact. I don’t think I’llever want to leave.”
Manon stared at her. “Do you mean that? Or are youjust saying it to make me feel better?”
“I mean it.” Elide kissed Manon’s cheek gently. “Imissed you too. You… were the first person who’d loved me in years.”
“You didn’t even know I loved you then.”
“I could figure it out.” Elide buried herself inpillows and Manon again and closed her eyes.
“I didn’teven know I loved you then.”
Elide giggled. “Really? The only human you’ve evercared about and you didn’t think that was love?”
Manon huffed a little. “I care about other people.”
“Witches. Not humans.”
Manon made a small, grumpy sound, which Elide tookto mean that she’d won the argument. “Well, now that that’s settled,” she said,“if you’re going to insist that I stay and snuggle with you, the least you cando is kiss me some more.”
Manon was happy to oblige.

Great idea! Perhaps some Malide or Masterin? Please and thanks!!!
YES MALIDE THANK YOU THANK YOU LETS DO THIS
Elide has complained a lot more than usual today that her ankle is hurting?? So Manon just sets her down on their couch and she pulls Elide’s legs over her lap and she gently massages her ankle and adds small kisses here and there. And Elide just smiles and stares at her girlfriend with such love and then Manon is kissing up her leg when she knows the pain is gone and we all know what happens next.

This has almost the same look as my old one, just some new works! (Tbh I didn't realize I had written so many things)

Strawberry Pancakes and Unicorn Blankets
WORD COUNT: 1211
SUMMARY: Ash Blackbeak is three years old and needier than ever. With Elide only weeks from giving birth again, Manon takes it upon herself to look after their toddler and make sure her wife can relax.
"Mama, Mama, Mama!"
Manon turned, scooping up her daughter as she came bounding into the room. She had been getting ready for the morning, a pair of black, ripped jeans now pulled on and her white lace bra blending into the paleness of her skin as she lifted Ash onto her hip. The toddler was dressed in denim dungarees, a red and white striped top beneath and matching red socks, her chubby thighs on show as they wrapped around her mother. Her brown hair was back in pigtails, white scrunchies matching her shirt. Elide was her personal stylist and she took the job with pride.
"There you are!" Elide appeared in the doorway, her swollen stomach clinging to the tight material of the blue dress she had on as she waddled forward. Ash giggled, hiding in Manon's neck and gripping her platinum strands.
"You're not running away from Mommy are you?" Manon chuckled, tickling Ash's side as she wiggled around on her hip. She was getting far too heavy to be carried, but Manon obliged happily, pressing a kiss to her daughter's hair as she rocked her.
Ash lifted her head, cupping her hands as she whispered into Manon's ear, "She trying feed me fruit! Ashy no want fruit."
Elide sighed, moving to the bed as she rubbed at her stomach, "They're strawberries. For on top of pancakes. You love pancakes, Ash."
Ash shook her head, a gentle frown marking her brows, "Want strawberry sauce, not strawberries."
Manon couldn't help but smile, trying to hide her laugh. Ash was going through that stage where her food likes and dislikes changed extremely rapidly. They'd been eating strawberries and cream for dessert last week and now strawberries were the bane of existence to their stubborn baby girl. "We don't have sauce," started Manon, plopping Ash on the bed beside Elide as she reached for a shirt, "It's strawberries or plain pancakes, I'm afraid."
Ash folded her arms, something she'd copied from Manon and was now using frequently. Giving a huff, she slid from the bed, stomping out the room and to her bedroom across the hall. Elide laid back against the bed, letting her eyes flutter as Manon slipped on a grey band t-shirt. After slipping on some socks and brushing through her hair, she stood in front of her wife, offering her hands to pull her up. "C'mon love, she'll be back down in a minute and begging for pancakes. Meanwhile, how about I cook us some bacon?" she offered, watching as Elide opened a single eye to peer at her.
Raising her hands, she let Manon pull her into a sitting position. She could see how tired she was, and it didn't help that she was running around after a three-year-old while she was due to give birth again in a few weeks. Manon moved to the bed, one arm going around Elide's shoulders and her other hand resting on her bump, "Let me look after you both. You shouldn't be stressing out, remember? Yrene's orders."
Her shoulder's slumped as she lent against Manon, "How can I not be stressed? I love Ash with my whole heart, but I feel like I can never meet her needs. And Tarin is keeping me up all night. I can't even imagine trying to handle them both at once."
"Hey," Manon whispered, pressing a kiss to Elide's temple, "You're an amazing mom. Ash is... Well, she's Ash. She's difficult and grumpy and stubborn, but she's our baby. Trust me, I was even worse as a kid. We can do this, El. I'm going to be here. There's two of us and two of them. It's going to be okay."
Elide wiped at her eyes where tears had begun to pool, giving a little sniff as she nodded, "I love you so much. I really don't know what I'd do without you."
Before Manon could respond, Ash came back into the room, a pout on her lips as she walked over to her parents. "Hi, Mommy," she smiled, taking Elide's hand with a small smile.
"Hi, Ashy. You okay, baby?" Elide asked, sitting up properly and leaning away from Manon's warmth. Manon dropped her hand from her shoulders, rubbing circles on her back instead and keeping her hand on the round bump where their unborn daughter lived.
Ash nodded, pigtails bobbing as her eyes looked pleadingly up at her mother, "Can I have my pancakes now?"
Manon could hear the clear exhaustion in her wife's laugh as she went to stand, "Of course you can. Let me just—"
"No," Manon stood, holding a hand out for Elide to stay, "Mommy's not feeling very well, Ashy. Is it okay if Mama does them so Mommy can stay in bed and relax?"
Ash dropped Elide's hand, looking at her curiously before nodding and lifting her arms for Manon to pick her up. Manon lifted her happily, resting her on her hip again and pressing a kiss to her cheek, "We can get you your pancakes, Mama will make her and Mommy some breakfast and then we can all have some cuddles and watch a movie. How does that sound?"
Ash nodded with a grin, "And I get my unicorn blankey?"
"Why don't you go get it now and Mommy can put it on the bed ready?" Elide suggested, leant back on both hands as she watched. Before Manon even had chance to turn to her daughter, Ash was tapping her arm, begging to be put down. As soon as her feet met the floor, Ash was speeding off, her pigtails flying behind her as she disappeared.
Manon turned to Elide, a small smirk on her lips, "You didn't have to do that, you know."
She slid her hands into her back pockets, "I think I'm capable of making some breakfast. Besides, you deserve a day off, baby. Now, why don't you get into some comfy clothes while I take care of our little monster."
Chuckling, Elide stood, pushing a kiss to Manon's lips as she slipped a hand against her stomach, following the round curve of their baby. When she pulled away, Elide cupped her hand over Manon's. "Not long now," Manon whispered, resting her forehead against her wife's.
Elide's lips brushed hers again before pulling away completely, "Don't remind me."
Seconds later, Ash came rushing in, blanket in hand, "Here you go, Mommy!"
Reaching out, Elide took the blanket with a smile, hiding the clear pain in her back that Manon noticed as soon as she let out a small gasp, both hands immediately going to her back. "Thanks, bubba," she smiled, watching Ash's face light up as she wrapped it around her shoulders.
"Alright, princess," started Manon, walking toward the doorway, "Why don't we go get some breakfast so Mommy can get changed, okay?"
"Okay! C'mon, Mama," Ash grabbed Manon's hand, dragging her toward the hall. Manon waved goodbye to her wife, savouring Elide's laugh as she was pulled out of sight by their toddler. She loved her little family, her warrior princesses who made her world so incredibly bright. There were hard days, and there were going to be even harder days once Tarin was here. But, in the end, it was worth it.

Blackberry Pie (Malide Drabble)
Hello! This is the second drabble of the drabbleathon and I knew I had to write about Malide for you! If you have a ship you want to see (platonic/romantic) then let me know! This is pure fluff again so I hope you enjoy!!
If there was one thing Manon knew about Elide, it was the girl loved to bake. And she was good at it. Manon loved trying the different pastries and sweets Elide would make and she awaited to see what the next concoction would be. Although her girlfriend was gifted at baking, Manon had some... weaknesses surrounding that activity (meaning she could not bake to save her life).
Manon would much rather fly with her wyvern or kill a man, but when her and Elide’s one year anniversary was approaching, Manon knew she had to surprise Elide. The witch grabbed a cookbook from a shelve and placed it down on the kitchen counter, then she got out all of the supplies to make a blackberry pie which was Elide's favourite. "You can do this," Manon thought to herself, "You are feared by many and extremely talented. You'll be able to make a damn pie." So, Manon set off to work, underestimating the difficulty of the task.
When Elide walked into the kitchen, she burst out laughing. She had just gotten home minutes ago and was surprised when she saw her girlfriend covered in flour and sugar, cursing profusely at the bowl holding ingredients. Manon looked to Elide when she heard her laughing and the witch looked down embarrassed.
"Turns out baking is harder than I thought," Manon murmured setting down the overflowing measuring cup on the counter, sighing. Elide walked over a swiped some sugar off of Manon's cheek, bringing it up to her mouth and smiling at the sweetness of it.
"What made you decide to bake today?" Elide asked looking up at Manon.
"I was trying to surprise you," Manon said sincerely. Elide looked over at the recipe book and smiled seeing that Manon was trying to make a blackberry pie.
"Why don't we make it together, my love?" Elide asked, hopeful. Manon nodded, handing the girl an apron.
They made the dessert together, the afternoon was spent laughing and kissing. Elide sat on the counter as she watched the timer for the oven winding down. Manon stood in front of Elide softly kissing her neck and continuously trailing downwards. They both groaned in annoyance as the timer went off, interrupting their moment. But it wasn’t that much of a tragedy because it meant they could finally fill and decorate the pie.
They ate the pie together and Elide laughed when Manon grumbled because she got some blackberry on her nose, which Elide wiped away quickly. As Elide looked at Manon, she was humbled by the fact that she felt safe, loved and happy with her girlfriend. As Manon looked at Elide, she knew that she was lucky to have the Elide in her life and that she would go through anything (even baking a pie) to see her smile.

“Hush, little drake, it’ll be all right.”
Elide had hauled herself out of bed at one in themorning at the sound of her and Manon’s daughter, Luna, wailing from the nextroom – only to find that Manon had gotten there first.
She didn’t dare interrupt them. She just stood inthe door, watching as Manon bent over the cradle (handmade from cedar wood byChaol, his birth-gift to them) and scooped the baby into her arms. She couldtell Manon was being very careful to hold her how Elide showed her to:  one hand cradling Luna’s head, one supportingthe rest of her body.
“If you carry on like this, your mother isn’tgoing to get a wink of sleep,” Manon murmured, rocking the baby gently untilher wails quieted. “Neither of them, in fact. No need to cry. I’m here. Shh.Shh.”
Elide shifted slightly, and winced as thefloorboards creaked. Manon turned, and her face immediately was apologetic. “Ididn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s okay.” Elide padded into the room on barefeet and joined her wife and daughter. “Thank you for going to her.”
“Well.” Manon’s voice was uncharacteristicallysoft as Elide laid her head on Manon’s shoulder. “I figured you could use abreak. You were nearly falling asleep at dinner.”
“Mmm. I did. Thank you.”
Manon reached a carefully non-taloned fingertowards Luna, who wrapped her tiny fist around it and closed her eyes. “Youwere right,” she said.
“About what?”
“I love her,” Manon said simply. “I was afraid Iwouldn’t be able to. But I love her.”
“I always knew you had it in you.” Elide reachedup and kissed her wife’s cheek. “I’m going back to bed. Join me when she fallsback to sleep.”
Manon’s only answer was a smile.
Send me a character or ship + a prompt and I’ll write you a drabble!
