I need everyone to appreciate how good The Ancient Magus Bride is, especially season 2. I was really afraid all the new characters in a magic school arc would just be bland as hell. But all of the students were so well fleshed out as characters. None of them were strictly archetypes that you would normally find in that sort of setting, and if they were, they added to the archetype. They were always unique, even the ones who didn’t have important arcs still had distinct personalities. And they were all so compelling and relatable. Magus Bride is a rare shonen anime where the characters don’t really feel like exaggerated versions of real people (which there is nothing wrong with that) but like, straight up real people with real problems who react to these problems in ways that make sense.

Also I love how Chise and Elias both grew as people separate from each other. I think it was essential to give them time apart to grow. And I love how whenever they come back together they are always more mature, and not only have a better understanding of themselves, but each other.

This show is just real as fuck. I feel these characters in my soul.

Damn this episode was dark, no like literally, it was hard to see what the hell was going on lmao.

Very action packed episode with some cool twists though. RIP Alcyone 😢 Philomela is really going to have to stand on her two feet and depend on her friends. So sweet how even in death, her dad’s still protecting her via the facsimile of his memories attached to Alcyone. Shame that it had to be used against his own mother though.

Definitely can understand Lucy not wanting Lizbeth to be killed right away. Within the span of like an hour she’s had her entire life turned on its head. Learning the truth behind her family’s murder and that someone she was close to was involved in it.. must be a massive shock

Speaking of Lucy’s family situation, seems like the werewolves are getting a redemption arc. I wrote them off after the cave fight, but learning that they were manipulated has made me feel sympathetic

Morrigan doing all those acrobatic moves and fighting while heavily pregnant is pretty hilarious, but she was a big help. I’m kinda confused on how Adam’s memory/spirit thing knew to turn into a spear for her though?

One last episode to go, excited to see how things turn out
