Welcome to Thitwhistle's, a place where you can let your tail down and stretch your wings out. There's Monster Hot Cocoa and sugar bombed pastries for the were-pups, we don't mind fangs or claws.
There's been a rumor that a well to do, mysterious investor just bought out the place and isn't changing a thing. Except doubling what they bake, in order to account for their voracious appetite.
Why don't you put your talons up and stay awhile? The Witches don't bite.
Much.

As good as dead📼🩸
Rating:5
Overview: Pip is about to head to college, but she is still haunted by the way her last investigation ended. She's used to online death threats in the wake of her viral true-crime podcast, but she can't help noticing an anonymous person who keeps asking her: Who will look for you when you're the one who disappears?
Review: this book was my favourite out of the 3 books. It was thrilling and gripping. I was so disappointed to find out holly Jackson wasn’t making another book for this series because it left you on a cliffhanger with Ravi and Pips relationship. Overall the series is amazing I would recommend if you like a book that’s easy to get into and isn’t long winded.

Can you write a dead on main? Something with a bookstore au please!
Now that I know the ship names, you bet I can! I'll try my best to get through the ones I got requested in the past few days.
Jason liked bookstores.
They were a safe haven for him as a child, even when the fancier ones chased him off when he became a street kid. He adores the various series, the smell of books, and the quiet of stores. Often he thought that they were a small pocket to escape reality.
He had always known he could escape between the pages when everything had been terrible.
Maybe that's what lead him to this store even if it was a bit odd.
It was out of the way by the old docks that Joker used to run, thus making it condemned to the rest of the populace.
An old warehouse turned into a three-story bookstore. The entire first floor was aisles placed in side-way lines with the main counter as its center. The second floor had cozy reading nocks, plush futon couches, pillows, and blankets, complete with a small cafe. The rule was that anyone could take a book off the second-floor walls to read for free.
Employees asked to be informed if any food or damage was done to the second floor since the second book only had one copy of each. The owner would pull one off the bottom floor shelves to replace it.
The final floor had various reading rooms, but Jason loved that each room was based on a book. The room was professionally decorated to the point it left visitors feeling like they actually stepped into the world of the book.
Sculptures, playable settings, phenomenal little details the hard die fans could spot, and even sound systems playing sounds that sounded like the world. Jason could only compare it to Disney World or universal studios. The fact that people could rent the rooms for an hour for only fifteen dollars made them much more popular.
The third-floor rooms- ten in total- would rotate between series after a few months. Hence, the rooms were always different, but inside them were recommended books with the same kind of theme that was always the perfect recommendation, or maybe people just wanted to explore a room of their favorites.
Jason had visited the strange little bookstore with Tim after his brother had gone on a date with Bernard there.
Tim and Barnard had rented the "Hogwarts common rooms" room for three hours. Jason had been amazed by how real the four standard rooms looked, how there were even dragons spitting fire in one corner, moving portraits, a sorting hat ceremony, a small teddy bear decorating corner, and even a wand building second. All for only fifteen dollars. Tim had practically been glowing when he came home with his Ravenclaw bear and his own wand.
And maybe Jason is a huge Harry Potter fan; perhaps it was one of the first things he boned with Tim over, so maybe his brother had taken him to have an experience that he compared to the first time Bruce took him to Universal Studios.
Then he ran into the owner while one of the employees had been helping him pick runes to have burned into his wand.
Jason started to come back for an entirely different reason.
"Hi, Jason!" Elle says when she sees him climbing the stairs toward the third floor. She's the store's co-owner and has gotten to know him on a first-name basis due to how often Jason has visited the store in the past year. If they made a reward points system, Jason knows he be the highest one on the chart.
She's sitting at a table that is decorated like a galaxy. The books for these quarters' room themes are on the table's surface, all with a door key under them and a clipboard for the various hours.
Jason's eyes land on Pride and Prejudice, and his heart leaps.
"Hi, Elle. What's the wait time for door seven?"
She smiles, flipping the clipboard to the time slots. "The Ball at Netherfield Park has a lot of openings today. I got a three, four, six, or seven. When shall I fit thee dance card in milord?"
Jason laughs and checks his phone, ensuring he doesn't need to do anything for a while before saying. "Three will be fine. It's only thirty minutes. I'll go get a coffee while I wait."
She nods, writing his name down for three. She then passes him some disclosure forms he has to sign, forgoes the long-winded explanation of the rules, and sends him on his way, promising to send him a reminder text.
"Just so you know, Ball at Netherfield Park comes with a unique costume option. Five extra dollars to go through our costume section, and you can dress up like Mr. Darcy for a full hour."
Jason shakes his head though it's a very tempting offer. "Thanks, Elle but I'm okay with my street clothes today."
The other shrugs and checks her nails- their asexual theme today, he notes- before nonchalantly commenting. "Too bad. Danny really wanted someone to cosplay with him. Jane Austin's books are less prevalent in Gotham than we thought, and he's been dying to wear his Mr. Bingley outfit. I thought you like to, so I told him to come over when you arrive, but I can text him to cancel-"
"Five dollars, you said? For the full outfit or just like a coat?" Jason ignores her smug expression and quickly places a twenty on the table.
"Full outfit. What do you take us for?"
He glares at her just as the man of the hour himself runs up the stairs. Danny Fenton, founder, and co-owner of Ghost Zone Reads. He's in a light blue Regency period man coat that makes his eyes pop. A pair of white pants that hug his hips and thighs in all the right places, black knee boots, and a black gentle top hat.
Jason's knees go weak at the sight of him.
Danny's face is flush from the run, but his whole face lights up when he sees his sister and her guest. "Jason! I'm so glad you choose the Ball at Netherfield Park experience. I can't wait for our dance."
"Dance?" Jason chocks. Elle chuckles.
"You can't experience a Ball at Netherfield without the ball part dingus." She waves a hand at her brother. "Told him Dick canceled on you, so he offered to step in."
Jason never even mentions Dick to her but he's not about to call her out on her lie. She's doing him such a big favor.
"I always wanted to go to a Jane Austin ball!" He says instead, mentally wincing at how lame he sounds. Thankfully Danny's eyes only light up even more as the other man starts explaining the instructional videos installed in the ballroom mirrors so they can learn the real moves of Contra Dancing.
Jason falls just a tad bit more.
(Elle watches with a fond smile as Jason and Danny get lost in Austin's most significant works. She quickly texts her allies in Wayne Manor under the table. This is a big step in the "Make us in-laws" operation; the Fenton and Wayne children started a few months back. They were all tired of watching Danny and Jason dance around each other. Damian's idea to use Jason's favorite author was working fabulously.)

I haven’t been to Barnes and Noble in person for almost two years. I went with my mom last night to one. I couldn’t help but notice the abundance of occult and witchcraft in every single section of the re-organized store, in every single genre, displayed upon the smaller tables, and even columns. It shouldn’t surprise me with how people are in world now, but it was still a surprise. I’ll pray for them.

What would the Marauders era characters do for living in a non magic au p.2.
Remus Lupin
I love the idea of Remus having some kind of disability connected with legs/moving, so we gonna stick with that. His job would involve books. No questions. He would work in a book shop and would volunteer in a library in his free time. The grannies/grandpas would ADORE him. He could also organise reading groups for children and would bring Sirius along to do silly voices and act out scenes.
Peter Pettigrew
He would own a bakery. Provide all other marauders with delicious yet nutritious pastries and ask Euphemia Potter and Hope Lupin for some recipes. He would have flour on his clothes 24/7 even on days when he wouldn’t work. Sweets on parties? Peter made them. Need food for an event? Call Peter. No one would be able to resist his baking.

Inside Thitwhistle's and the mind of an immortal who has never had friends. (Phantom and Rook)
Tumblr media
I’m elbows deep in dish water and my muddied thoughts when a familiar voice sounds from the other side of the counter behind me.
I swallow something heavy, dry my hands off and make sure to pull my hoodie sleeves down past my wrists before turning to face Quentin. I give him a smile. “Hey, Quentin. Gowan need more scones? They’re on the house, I did eat three or four of hers.”
Quentin smiles back, shoulders squared, stance tall. “No thanks, I was actually wondering if you could help me with something. I’m looking for a book.”
“Oh, sure. I’m not completely familiar with the selection yet, but there’s a computer back here that I can use. Well, once I figure it out. Follow me.” I say, gesturing to the hidden aisles of books.
The circulation desk rests on the opposite side of the dividing wall that houses the sink and appliances for the cafe. Green velvet upholstery and dark brown leather provide cozy lounge chaises and reading nooks, accented with silver embroidery.
Arlo’s touch lacks in this area, but the occasional black or gold feather flutters across the dark wood of the towering bookshelves. Aisles stretch into a seemingly endless labyrinth, offering anonymity. A few private niches and group friendly reading spaces are tucked between the aisles, often not revealing patrons until you’re right upon them. My favorite area is the least occupied and hides in the far back, under the stairs that lead to the apartments.
Quentin waits patiently while I struggle to boot the computer on, then find the right browser. My brows furrow, the desktop is a mess and full of icons. He peers over my shoulder. “Oh boy. You should have Caspian take a look at that dinosaur.”
I look back at him. “Dinosaur?”
“Yeah, that’s like twenty years old.”
I wrinkle my nose, muttering, “I must be the dustings of a fossil then.”
He chuckles nervously. “True.”
“I think Caspian most likely would rather do anything other than assist me, but thank you for the advice. Ah, here it is. What book are you looking for?”
Quentin blushes, pushing up his glasses. “Well, I feel bad now seeing how much of a hassle this is for you, but I don’t actually need a book.’
I turn from the computer to glare at him head on. “Oh.”
He adjusts his glasses. “We could really use your help, with the Game, you know? And Arlo’s worried about you.” Quentin shifts on his feet. “Your business is your business, you know? I don’t know what happened to you, but … You don’t owe us anything, or have to feel weird. I think you’re really nice, and the others do too. Caspian’s an ass, but that’s just him.”
I cross my arms, having to look away from his elegant features. He has one of those faces that can bring forth your deepest secrets and crack your heart open. Quentin should be with Arlo. He won’t disappear. He’s kind, and I know he would love Arlo so much better than I ever could.
“I appreciate that, Quentin, thank you. I don’t,” I pinch the bridge of my nose and sigh. “It’s been a very long time since I’ve … made connections, I guess you could say. Making friends is not a strong suit of mine.”
Quentin blinks in surprise. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you make an enemy, not yet, anyway.”
I chuckle darkly, an unfamiliar feeling. “People liking you, and what you can do for them,” I finally drag my eyes up to his, “and those who are a true friend, are two very different things.”
Quentin nods solemnly. “I think I can understand that.”
We stand there, staring at each other.
“Oh, also, Kitt wanted me to tell you that she’ll be empty bright and early tomorrow morning if you still wanted to get that tattoo, if not that’s fine, too.” Quentin nods quickly. “But anyway, I’ll, um, I’ll go now. Oh, also this message is from Tobias, they’re having dinner at six tomorrow, if you wanted to come. Stop by and eat some grilled food, surprise a good mood into Arlo. We’ll all be there, talking theories.”
And fuck if that doesn’t spark my interest. “Did you come up with anything?”
“Well, we didn’t, but someone found the first painting about an hour ago, in Arlo’s studio. It’s been all over the news and social media, a few people have already submitted their guesses that it’s him. Can you imagine?”
I chuckle. “I might be able to.”

Good girl bad blood🩸
Rating: 5
Overview: Pip is not a detective anymore. With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her. But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing.
Review: I really liked the 2nd book because of how much happened. Pip and ravis relationship is the cutest thing and they both help and understand each other. Also all the plot twists in this part of the book made you not want to put it down.

Hoorah! It is finally complete! I am super excited to share with everyone this new build that replaces that wierd bar lot in Glimmerbook. It is now a much larger full English tavern and has a small kitchen in the basement. The kitchen is kind of important to me simply because it makes the lot much more useful for hosting catered events and such. Also included is a full bookstore next door, the lot is marked as a bar so your sim can't actually buy books, but it makes for a cute little library for sims to stop in at. I figured it would make a nice edition considering how small the neighborhood is! This bookstore even includes a few secret rooms for the magically inclined to hypothetically restock on things they may need.
This build uses two of my absolute favorite CC sets: Chateau and Orjanic by Felixandre and Harrie (thank you so much guys!) Those sets became instant repeat uses in almost all my builds. I also needed a bit of a challenge and wanted to make it simpler and easier for anyone to use this build as well. I'm very proud of it at the moment and I hope you all love it as much as I do. I really wanted to make it a comfortable and realistic addition to pretty much anyone's game and EA really needs to work on their public lot skills lol.
One thing I noticed though in one of the secret rooms the wands disappeared when I play tested it, I'm assuming because the wands don't have an owner and the game doesn't quite know what to do with them. If anyone has a suggestion or solution let me know! But for now I'm loading it into the gallery with the wands in place but that may not be how it ports in. If you have any CC decorative wands, you may be able to snap those in but I honestly don't know.
You can find this lot on my gallery at TheSimfulBuilder, just make sure you have downloaded and installed both the Orjanic and Chateau CC sets from Felixandre and Harrie first.

So I was treating myself to a reread of "In Search of Nightingales" (as one does) and I had a question: does Hob ever get to see Dream's living space? I'm torn between imagining him in some lavish, cozy, magical space, or just like. A blanket on the floor behind a bookshelf because God forbid Dream prioritize his own comfort lol.
🤘 five-and-dimes
@five-and-dimes ooh! he hasn't but he definitely should get to. i'm 99% sure it's the latter -- just some corner in the Library he's holed up in with his stolen baked goods and his blanket (also stolen from Hob) and his stack of 583 in-progress books. he probably just lives in his study. though i'm not convinced he sleeps at all 😂
hob: why are you lying on the floor in the Sleep Science section?
dream: where else would i sleep
hob:... in a BED?
