Okay so quick question. WHY DOES NO-ONE DRAW HERBERT WEST IN THE SUIT JACKET???? LIKE I KNOW HE DOESN'T WEAR IT FOR LONG BUT HE'S SO SKRUNKLY IN IT. AM I THIRSTING OVER HIM IN THE JACKET. YES. MOST DEFINITELY. HE WAS SO HOT AND NO-ONE TALKS ABOUT IT.
[yes I'm rewatching re-animator and all I have to say is the same as one of my last posts. Herbert stop touching your boyfriend's tit. Just stop touching your boyfriend. You're making a cover up for your murder babes.]
[Also him in the jacket is below this text, he's so hot. <3]

Ok I’m back.
*Good Omens series 2 spoilers*
I slept on it and I’ve settled a bit with the kiss scene. Even though I still feel ripped open and aching over the whole thing. It was giving us what we wanted but in the most excruciating way. (Thanks for that, Gaiman)
In all seriousness, I loved the season. The entire story and smaller stories throughout. I know it’s building for something greater too. I trust Neil implicitly to make it right in s3. I’m just gonna be in panic mode until it’s confirmed. And by make it right I mean literally Crowley and Aziraphale making amends. I don’t mean to say what happened is in any way wrong. It’s exactly how it would play out, it’s just not happy and fluffy. It’s REAL. Neil did an amazing job (hurting us ha) bringing that to the screen. And Michael and David.
I’ve wrapped my head around the idea a bit more and it makes sense that Aziraphale would still fight it. It’s his m.o. He needs time to acclimate and catch up to Crowley. It just hurts. I’m hurting as Crowley. He’s always ready to jump. To make the move. He always put his heart on the line for Aziraphale, albeit a bit more subtly. He wants Aziraphale to choose him like he’s done for the angel so many times before. Wants to be loved and accepted. By the only person who would, could and SHOULD. Ow.
But honestly it’s been this long and they’ve gone through so much together a little longer isn’t too bad, right? And hey, we got ineffable bureaucracy canonized???? That’s… incredible. I won’t even get started on that here and now. This season WAS romantic. For so many different reasons and pairings.
Nina and Maggie are another good example of relationships done realistically. Not like in the movies. Neither avoiding rain under a canopy or dancing at a ball is going to make Nina magically move on from her seemingly very toxic (narcissistic/abusive?) recent ex. And if she did it wouldn’t be a very healthy start for her and Maggie.
Once again, praise Gaiman, for somehow mixing traditional notions of romance and love with reality so seamlessly. It didn’t have that feeling of cold reality some movies and shows do when trying to prove the point of “not all endings are happy.” And it wasn’t just ooey gooey either. Brilliant. The man’s just brilliant.
Ok, I’m gonna wrap this up cause I could go on. There’s sooooo much more I could touch on and this was supposed to be short. After decompressing a bit I’m looking forward to rewatching the whole thing again knowing how the storylines all play out.

If anything, this drama confirms Buzzfeed must be one of the worst places to work.
It’s one thing for people who use to watch Buzzfeed/Tryguys to comment, because we don’t know these people irl. But so many ex-employees and ex-coworkers show themselves to be a bunch of snakes ready to jump on the clout train saying “ooh we’re not surprised” “ooh we been knew”.
Imagine being Ariel and seeing all these people you knew saying they knew. The highschool mentality never left these people. They’re like the people who cry about being bullied but would’ve jumped at the opportunity to be the bully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kristin making jokes about how she’s reconnecting with all her ex-coworkers and Devin talking about “wife guys” shows that Safiya was right to leave Ladylike. Stay classy ladies.
And let’s not forget this person who very much wanted to join the drama by dropping this bomb on Zach but also ensured she put a “oh but remember this happened A BILLION YEARS AGO” like adding the “lol but that’s just my opinion” at the end of a sentence so that if people call her out she can just pretend she might have misremembered and not take responsibility.
Tumblr media
Bonus for all the batshit “fans” trying to get gossip and acting nuts on the profiles of people who aren’t even employed with the try guys anymore.

people who whittle mad maggie down to "feral goblin woman" are the bane of my existance. do you not see the purpose in everything she does!!! she's not just some violent crazed madwoman, she fights for a reason! salvonians know from childhood that if anything's gonna send a message and have it be understood, it's violence. this is revoloution 101, fights are not picked without good fucking reason. if it gets something done without having to beg and grovel, violence will be used, espeically if it gets shitstain corpos to listen to the people.
maggie fights because she loves. she loves her people and her home so much she knows in her heart one day she will die for it, and she plans to go kicking and fucking screaming down all 6 levels of hell that fight may take her. she is not just some stray rabid dog that bites because she can, she snaps in defense, in demonstration, in a show of power. even when they try to push her to her as low as they can, lock her in shackles and shame her, she's still full of spit and ready to kick ass because she knows the fight is not over until she says it is.

I think i realized part of why I love good omens so much. because not every love story happens when people are young. and not every love story is fully realized.
aziraphale and crowley are thousands of years old, and they found love. we don't know how long they were angels before the invention of time, or how long they existed before they met. and they found each other and they found love. they may have denied it for 6000 years, but they felt they had no choice. Heaven and hell would destroy them, and it simply wasn't safe. when the time comes for them to be almost fully comfortable in their relationship, they're torn apart again. but they found love and they will reunite and have their happy ending.
gabriel and beelzebub found love after millenia of leading their separate sides, sticking resolutely to the idea of the great plan. until they stopped. what if there was no armaggedon? what if you said you liked this song and now its the only thing that will play here? what if I loved you? gabriel and beelzebub cut ties with heaven and hell, and dissappear together. we don't know where they went and its likely we'll never know, but they're happy and together. it took them millenia, but they found love.
nina and maggie probably still aren't together, but I personally believe they will once nina is in a better headspace. they've both been in relationships before, nina is presently in the process of a breakup with the emotionally abusive lindsey. but they are able to enjoy each others company and maybe someday have a beautiful and healthy relationship. they're both adults who have been in relationships and broken up, and they're finding love.
as much as i love many of the storyline, sometimes it hurts to see so many stories where all these people my own age are getting in their first relationships and are suddenly together forever. they find love almost immediately and live happily ever after. we never see what happens after the first few chapters, and most of the time we don't know if they ever break up or if every character ends up living a happy life with their high school sweetheart. that storyline is so much of what these books and shows tell us, but not everything is like that. people break up and deal with toxic and abusive situations and sometimes just don't work out. most people don't end up with the first person they like. they might not even fall in love with that person. as a teenager myself, so many adults tell me that high school relationships will never last and jts easier to wait until adulthood. but if that's what they tell us, why constantly tell this narrative of perfect young love? sometimes watching this same story makes me feel like I'm falling behind when I see these characters my age being so happy and in relationships while I'm stuck alone and anxious.
good omens is a wonderfully diverse show, but one of my favorite parts is how essentially every romantic storyline takes place well into the characters lives, with lives and past relationships. people can grow and change and not be made to feel as if they have to live happily ever after with the first person they like. they take their time figuring things out. they live close but barely interacting until they are drawn together later in life. they work nearby and come together during a chaotic time and bond over the stressful situations. and they find love, no matter where they are in life, what they've been through. they find love because love isn't just something limited to teenagers.

With Robin Williams trending, I'd like to insert my 2 cents about my favorite of his works and one of my favorite movies in general, Hook.
I don't see much about this movie and it's kinda sad seeing as it's such a deep movie about parent child relationships and the fear of death via getting old. And after having read the actual book by James Barrie, it's incredible how accurate they got it. I would also love asks if anyone has other things to add ab it, but I'm mainly going to talk about Peter and Jack's relationships and therefore Peter's relationships with his parental figures. (Tink, Wendy, his adoptive parents, and his birth parents)
The first thing we learn about Peter Banning is that he has a troubled relationship with his (I'm assuming 10 year old) son Jack. Peter himself is a merger and acquisitions lawyer and is deeply woven with his work. We also learn in those same first few minutes that it affects the time he spends with both of his kids.
In the same 2 minute span, Peter agrees to a meeting that occurs during a baseball game he promised his son he would attend, on a phone call in the middle of his daughter's school play where she is the female lead. A role very important to her because she's playing her great grandmother. Of course Peter missed the game and rather, sends a coworker with a camera to film it for him; which sets off a main theme of the film being Peter being unable to be there for his children, mainly Jack.
Next we learn not only does he not keep promises made to his kids but also to Wendy Darling(who took him in as an orphan when he was 13) who has invited him over for Christmas every year and yet he hasn't been in a decade due to work and her living out of the country.
Then when the movie's plot officially starts we begin to understand that Peter is wasting time and not caring (which could be a psychological side affect to being the same age for so many years that his concept of time is generally inept). Much later in the movie they expand on this idea of Jack's relationship with his father not being good and fueled by when they got to Neverland James Hook proposed thst if Peter could touch their hands, trying to get him to fly, that he would let them go.
He climbed all the way up the mast and gave up from grief and exhaustion. But to Jack, this meant his dad didn't care enough to try the tiniest bit harder to touch them.
Then we have later on when Peter finds his happy thought (which is one of my favorite scenes) where he remembers his mother and being Peter Pan and Wendy. I'm going to condense this as much as I can but Peter ran away and doesn't like his parents especially his mother because they wanted him to grow up and b e something and in his tiny baby head that meant growing old and eventually dying which is a fear that has dictated his life. He leaves people behind and breaks promises but when the same is done to him he feels abandoned (the way children do).
I don't know how to write an ending for this but I could continue if anyone is interested!!

girlie don't let a man decide your worth.
or anyone other than yourself, for that matter. Take a step back. Re-evaluate. Decide what YOU want from life and what makes YOU happy. Get back into your hobbies. Spend time with loved ones. Find the things that make you smile and fall in love with life again.
and please, for the love of all deities big and small, don't settle for someone who isn't willing to do all the above to better themselves.

CONNOR, PLEASE TALK FOR HOURS ABOUT YOUR STUPID GENIUS LITTLE HEADCANONS ❤️💖💘💕
charlie you've definitely heard this one before but I do believe that richie greyed early. (he also definitely got a nose job. probably with one of his first big comedy paychecks).
went and richie, I think, look very similar. tozier men are lookalikes (richie took after maggies eyes). went has been greying around the corners of his hairline since Eddie met him, which was probably when the two of them were like. what. five? so it was obvious Richie was going to grey neither of them thought it would happen so soon.
and it happens the first time in high school. Eddie's doing the thing where he lays on richie pretending he doesn't desperately want Richie's attention away from his comic and onto HIM when he notices it. right at Richie's temple. a little grey hair.
obviously he plucks it and makes fun of Richie for the next week. lovingly, of course.
but as he gets older, it gets worse. Richie starts dying his hair at like, 17, because he's genuinely beginning to get salt-and-pepper edges. and that's the last Eddie sees of him before he moves away from Derry, hair all perfectly one colour (and the back of Richie's ears a little stained)
if gangly teen Richie had to dye his greys big 40yr old richie def dyes his hair. Eddie's actually forgotten all about the grey thing until he moves in with Richie like a year after they kill the stupid clown.
Richie forgets to book an appointment, or maybe his stylist is busy, but whatever happens he goes a little too long without doing it himself and yeah. silver fox alert. he's grown his hair out bc long hair richie rights and Eddie can see the streaks of greys in his ponytail and it makes him go so insane. he's staring at Richie who's feeling very self conscious.
Richie's like "Sorry dude I'm getting it dyed soon" and Eddie's like. "NO"
and then they probably fuck about it. and continue to fuck about it, because Eddie has found a way to distract Richie from going and getting them dyed.

So anyway I unironically hope all her business ventures fail and that her kids grow up more attached to their nannies than her and she has a constant, ever-present sense that something is missing, a void that she can’t fill no matter what she does, and I hope nothing ever works out for her end of rant
