i'm glad you're improving every night! and that you're having fun! i remember (from my days back in high school when we would put together musicals at the end of the year) that it was so much fun <3
of course i don't mind telling you it's this one i used my old account because i feel like stranger things fits more with those fics than it did with my 5sos fics lmao i've only ever participated in 1 big bang too! it was very fun but i had more free time back then so i see how that can be a problem this time but it sounds very fun! same with volume 1 making me obsess with stranger things, it was so good and interesting and i haven't stopped thinking about it, i check the tag almost every day and go on ao3 looking for fics too (which are posted at an insane rate like, hundreds of fics a day it's crazy!)

hello monse!!!! i did not know this about you but im excited that i now do know it!!!
ok so the idea behind stydia gear shifts fic is like. telling the story of a relationship using the gear shifts in a stick shift car as like, milestones in a way. this is even sexier because stiles's jeep is a stick shift, and as we all know i am obsessed with stick shifts in general. so here's what i have as i guess my "outline" of sorts
as you can see it also lends itself neatly to being a 5+1, which is my favorite type of fic to brainstorm. so far ive only written part 1 (neutral gear) and i have a vague idea of what part 2 (first gear) is gonna look like, but i feel like those are kinda the hardest ones, bc part 1 is pre-canon while the rest is going to be during canon. also, it's stiles's pov, which is always fun because he's a funny little dude. here is some of this one:
Lydia finishes fixing her lipstick in her locker mirror and slams it shut. She struts down the hallway in their direction and Stiles scrambles to find a less incriminating place to look. It doesn’t end up mattering; she walks right past them without so much as a glance and meets Jackson approaching from the other end of the hall, and they kiss. Right there. In front of God and country and Stiles.
Stiles is so tempted to shout get a room!

For all the people Ashton has loved, it never quite crossed his mind how differently love exists. That sure, somewhere within the love between friends and family, romantic partners and the kind of love you extend to random people that come through your life, Ashton definitely put together that not all feelings of love are the same.
But when it comes to loving Michael, Calum, and Luke, Ashton has found that it’s not quite as simple as clearly-cut categories between labels on relationships. He might even consider it wrong to confine the feelings he has for them—in both degree and complexity—into something as simple as just romantic infatuation or as cut-and-paste as seeing himself with them for the rest of his life. Ashton definitely does, don’t get him wrong, but for all the love he’s experienced and given, it’s strange to come to an awareness that even when you think love is the same—even when you might even want it to be—it’s not.
That, to Ashton at least, it’s less of differences in relationships and more of differences in people that we love, that inspire us to love differently.

With watery eyes, he glances at Calum, sitting across from him and finds him grinning back smugly. Neither of them say anything. It’s Michael who says, “yeah, what was that about?” looking directly at Calum who shrugs nonchalantly.
“Dunno, I just felt like doing it,” he says, leaning back on his palms, still looking at Luke. “Luke doesn’t mind, do you, Luke?”
The truth is Luke does mind. He minds a lot. Not because he doesn’t like it, but because it messes with his head--leaves him feeling a little floaty and distracted.

Michael is a programmer by day, a vigilante’s guy in the chair by night, and a full-time admirer of the cute barista down at the coffee shop he frequents, and sometimes he wonders if everyone around him is way too dramatic or if he’s missing something.

Instead, his brain takes note of exactly three things: the massive violet bush against his back that threatens to swallow him if he swoons, the smell of the rum that Jack is holding next to him, and the single clear thought his head will allow right now - this summer just got a lot more interesting.
