my favorite thing ever is when supernatural creatures just love stiles ❤️ like oh yeah. there’s a family of pixies in some random forest in california who ADORES stiles and practically wants to adopt him. yup there’s the yeti who’s practically in love with stiles and is willing to do anything for him. oh! there’s the mermaid who would literally pay to be a human for a day just to spend time with stiles. and there’s the old vampire who is always gifting stiles antique knickknacks and practically has stiles in his will (“vampires have wills!?”) wherein he’ll inherit his entire dracula mansion and possessions from like the 1600s. i just crave supernatural creatures who just adore stiles ❤️ little silly stiles ❤️ derek is so so torn whether or not he should be jealous or be happy because that’s his stile

Why on earth is Alex known as mr snarl? <333
hii lovely 💗 omg i am MORE than happy to tell the story of mr snarl! make yourself a cup of tea, sit back and relax, and let’s get started:
as you might already know, “mr snarl” is the nickname that’s usually used to describe alex’s persona during the am era. allow me to provide some prime examples of mr snarl:
basically, mr snarl is characterised by the slicked-back, cool, arrogant charisma that was typical of alex’s performances during the am era. he’s not friendly or approachable, he’s deadpan and snarky and all edges, and is generally seen in sunglasses and black leather.
a great example of mr snarl in action alex’s 2013 brit awards speech:
(but also you can find him in literally any performance from 2013/2014)
my favourite thing about the story of “mr snarl” though is that the name originated from alex himself. in an interview from 2022, he discussed his old stage personas:
he has a name for his performer ego, which has always snarled and sang with the corner of his mouth turned up in disdain: mr snarl. “sometimes mr snarl shows up,” turner explains. “we’ve just been rehearsing some old songs for the upcoming shows and it’s weird what feels right and what feels contrived when there’s five of us in the rehearsal room. it feels completely insane to embody this guy singing to a carpeted room. there i stand, singing at the carpet and wondering how do you sing a damn song like ‘teddy picker’?”
what’s interesting to me is that obviously ‘teddy picker’ was written way before the am era, so maybe alex’s idea of mr snarl includes the eras before am too - or maybe he was thinking of how he performed it during the am era. either way, as far as i’m aware, everyone in fan spaces like tumblr seems to solely use “mr snarl” to refer to alex’s persona during the am era (anyone reading this who has a different view, please feel free to jump in and correct me!)
mr snarl might be all cheekbones and snark, but underneath it all our favourite little deer-eyed dreamer was never far away - especially if miles kane was present!

Elvis Presley changed the world.
He changed my world.
Today is bittersweet. We want to love and remember and honor this larger-than-life man (because, yes, he was only a man) but he was also so much more. This day marks the end of an extraordinary life, in a tragic and lonely way. I wish I could explain to the world just how much pain this man must have been in day in and day out and yet he still continued to show up for his family, friends, and fans until the day he died.
Something that hurts me the most is how much suffering he experienced that so many never knew or understood. He wasn’t just some strung out rockstar who died from drug abuse, which has been the picture painted for so long—he was a wildly talented man who’s body betrayed him in a laundry list of ways. (If you haven’t read Elvis: Destined to Die Young, I highly recommend it if you’re trying to understand more of what was going on with the perfect storm of the decline of his health.)
There are so many things I could say, but others have said so much and so eloquently today, I won’t go crazy. I’ll just say I love him wholeheartedly and completely, imperfections and all. He was complex and amazing and infuriating and gorgeous. He’s done amazing things for this world and is connecting people and creating communities to this day, which is fucking incredible, 46 years after he left this world.
And if that’s not legacy and immortality, I don’t know what is. 💗

i feel like 2022 has been one of my toughest years yet but also one of best. my mental health is always going to be a permanent thing in my life, i know that and despite the fact that i have struggled through the year, there also have been moments where i've beaten the challenges life has thrown at me and i have been the happiest. i also have made a ton of new friends this year—friends that i cannot imagine life without.
