i think a good number of english-speaking one piece fans are already familiar with the connotations of the word 愛している/aishiteiru as a particularly weighty and less common way of expressing ‘love' (as opposed to the more common and less serious 大好き/daisuki)- aishiteiru is used both by ace in his “thank you for loving me" and by corazon in his final “i love you" to law, among others. and when telling bonney he loves her here, in the letters that never made it to her, kuma uses aishiteiru as well. he also uses the particularly affectionate 'you' pronoun kimi.

i would plant an orange tree, take care of it with the utmost love for the sweets oranges to grow. i would pick them and peel them for you, as many times as you want, making sure you always have all the oranges you ask for, and with my bare hands eagerly waiting to do it for you.

i would take a step forward and peel pomegranates too. i would gently peel off the skin and pick the pomegranate seeds one by one so you never have to worry about doing it yourself.
