I was missing the library I adored as a little kid so I looked it up online and guys. tears in my eyes. they have the progress pride flag in their icon on social media year round. a photo on google maps has "PRIDE!" written on the giant window in the kids book section in window pens with a rainbow underneath it. I can't wait to go back to the country that loves me so much I've seen just endless fierce love and respect for my community and I'm genuinely struggling to keep myself together right now because I've gotten so used to hiding and not being seen, or being seen by people who think I shouldn't exist. aotearoa I love you so much I can't wait to fall back into your loving arms I can't wait to make one hundred new friends. I will claw my way along the ocean floor to get back to you if I have to

Sometimes I really fucking envy the selfish assholes who just don't engage with the news/learn an current events. Like god it must be nice to live in your little bubble, only living in 'the moment' and the 'here and now' around you. It must be so peaceful to be able to see a YouTube short ab current events and say "hmm that's sad" and just scroll onto the next video without giving it a second thought. Must be so fucking peaceful being oblivious. Sometimes I want that. I want to be selfish and self centered, I mean I know I don't but... yknow??

Carbon footprints is a bunch of bs tbh
call me a conspiracy theorist but carbon footprint is a misdirection made to point the blame of climate change on us so companies like BP (one of the biggest oil companies in the world who coined up the term while being known as a massive greenwasher) can go along getting no reproductions for their massive effect on the environment
boycotting is effective but we can’t exactly boycott everything like oil because we have limited access to non oil alternatives and get this what the government wants that they let this greenwashing crap go on with no regulated to the future of not only the economy with will be hurt either way, but the entire fate of the world
all this government and company stupidity just really pisses me off man esp with the fact people are falling for it
oh and don’t give me that “it’s hopeless” crap that’s no better than what the companies are doing and all it does is avoid action we can be taking yes it’s possible look at any scientist ever we will just need a pretty big culture shift but other places like Denmark show it’s possible to recover the earth and our environment
and not nearly enough people are concerned about the environment like they should be and even if they are they are usually focusing on the wrong things and the entire climate movement is honestly just a big mess

Hey Americans, genuine question here.
How do you guys control your house temps? I've heard about ac, which I assume is just air conditioning, but then there's heating vents? How do they work, where are they usually placed? I know they're possible to cover with furniture. Where does it connect to, a boiler? Or something else?
How many ceiling fans does one usually have in their house? Are they used regularly?
Do you have radiators?? Is double/triple glazing common? Do you have insulation in your walls and roof??
Google is NOT giving me straight answers.

So, it's late and I'm knee-deep in research for my master's thesis and I have so many feelings about Mircea, Vlad Draculas eldest brother?
Like, we know so little about him besides his unwavering loyalty to his father and his courage on the battlefield. But we know how he died. When Vlad Draculs own Boyars murdered him to place another on the Wallachian throne, they also killed Mircea. They blinded him with a hot iron and then they buried him alive.
I wish we knew more about him and I wish we knew more about Vlad Dracula and the youngest, Radu, in general - something that's not based on propaganda pamphlets. But time is unforgiving and nearly 550 years is a long time for primary sources to be destroyed or get lost. If these kind of sources ever existed at all.
So for now I'm just sitting at my desk, staring at my computer screen, rubbing my eyes, not being normal about Mircea II. Basarab. Being a history bitch is hard.

maybe i’m being super cynical but there’s just something really stupid about the idea of posting pics from your holiday in Hawai’i to show sympathy about what’s going on in Lāhainā idk
