So I’ve been seeing a lot of tweets and tiktoks debating on the whole Harry as Danny thing and how much that’s based off of Louis in his school play, and I have a interesting comment that my boss of all people pointed out to me
So obviously Harry and Louis match in their all black ensembles
But I was describing the outfit to my boss (who actively resists knowing anything about one direction or Harry styles) and was telling him about how he had the black jeans and the black shirt and leather jacket, and he was like “no? Danny in grease wears a white shirt with his jacket and like jeans”
So I looked it up, and what do you know
Not only are the top pictures that come up of him in a white shirt, but costumes of Danny from grease are also advertised with the white shirt
So why did our Hazza choose the less popular all black ensemble?? (Other than the fact that he’s a hipster who can’t be like other girls)
Probably because his celebrity crush did it first
And for all the h8rs who say that it’s just a coincidence, let’s not forget this interview, where everyone knows that Grease is Louis' favorite movie
Or this one that happened just a few weeks ago, where he was very proud to say that he still has his tbirds jacket from playing danny zuko in high school
All this to say that this is a man who already owned this jacket because the love of his life wanted them to match the characters from his favorite movie
im not saying anything, im just saying that this man was forced (and loved every second of it) to learn this choreography
and may or may not have sang "hopelessly devoted to LOU" because that's how he's used to singing it in his kitchen

HARRYWEEN 2022
Ok so we were all expecting Harry to be dressed as Lydia from Beetlejuice, Cinderella, or Willy Wonka/Violet since we saw oompa loompas outside the venue. But no he dressed up as DANNY ZUKO. My immediate thought was Louis’ playing Danny in a play and Grease being his favorite movie. Also 2 weeks before Harryween, in an interview, Louis mentioned still having his leather jacket from the play. I was genuinely so shocked. And to top it off, Harry sang Hopelessly Devoted To You, and did a very clear lyric change. He sang “Hopelessly devoted to Louuu,” and even antis and people that aren’t in the fandom admitted that he said “Lou” and not “you.” The “L” was very clear. Harryween was very very loud and I as a Larrie I am still in shock.

i tend to agree with what you say, but i came across your ask about danny, i agree in parts that they are not trying to prove things anymore, but certain things? are avoidable, the fantasy was a 100% avoidable thing and come on, everyone would think of louis, so for me it was highly purposeful, I don't believe they are together anymore, but that? I had doubts for a moment. I feel like if they're not together anymore, they need to let the larries go, you know? Sometimes I think they take advantage of situations and don't change because it's convenient.

I don’t know about those but Harry was definitely larrybaiting when he dressed up as Danny Zuko. He has sat through tons of interviews during the 1D days to know how much Louis the fandom identifies that character with Louis. His gay movie was conveniently being released at the same time.
But ask toxic Harries and they’ll say Harry’s Danny Zuko cosplay sprain spontaneously from his brain like grass from a rock :)
That cosplay was passive-aggressive, like so much of what Harry does. Larries interpret it as Harry’s skirting his ironclad closeting to send a surreptitious yet somehow loud, unambiguous signal.
As always, Larries fail to see the business angle. When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. For Larries, “Larry” is the hammer and every baiting/ marketing opportunity looks like a “secret signal” nail to them (Louis’ team does it too, like that hapless BMG PR guy James Farrelly who tagged Larries in his first and last FITF promo post).
What’s unambiguous that a Harry dressing up as “Danny Zuko” was intentional, and Harry was targeting the nostalgic One Direction fanbase that knows Louis’ history. Harry knew it would be controversial and attention-getting. He knew that Louis’ new album was coming in 11 days, and that the fandom’s excitement was focused on Louis.
So why not get a little of that attention for himself? Why not take a beloved 1D fandom memory entirely about someone else in the band, which has nothing to do with him, and make it about Harry Styles?

Have you seen any of the absolute lunacy on Seas blog at the moment? Wishing death on Harry, ranting and raving due to the fact Harry dressed up as Danny from Grease because...Louis also played him in a school production and its his favourite movie. You cant make it up, I dont think Harry has given Louis any real thought for 7 years. Her blog is a crazy place at the moment.
