Today we have:
-Tanis thinking about kendericide in the middle of Palanthas delirium
-Lord Soth's pov 15 sec later I suppose...?
-Dalamar with his only source of livelihood, wine (🍷 honestly same)
-Raistlin and Caramon not trying to kill eachother for 2 minutes
- Sturm and his joie de vivre (❣️ honestly same)

I’m running Shadow of the Dragon Queen for my friends right now so I wanted to paint a Lord Soth for them when they eventually face him. This is my first time painting a light source and it’s reflecting light and I was dreading it but it turned out better than I thought it would!

⌛ Art vs artist 2023 - a way to stop and look back, take stock of a past year.
📘 A year with some noteworthy satisfactions, the publication of several publications with my illustrations: Autumn twilight, Shadow of the black rose, The journals of Kaz the Minotaur: the lost colony were released with the Dragonlance Nexus - the latter with the famous writer Richard Knaak. More illustrations for projects to be published next year. 🤝 Various private commissions, often full beautiful collaborations with people that opened for me doors to their cherised, secret worlds. 🎨 Few "personal" illustrations or in general creations - as often happens, sometimes a pencil sketch is enough for me to express what's on my mind - and, who knows, maybe one day I'll go back to expressing myself more. 🎭A difficult year from a health point of view, which started badly and ended badly; a year in which art was a crutch to move forward and lose myself in a world where things can go the way I want. 🎨 A year in which I worked hard on my private website, a collection of my latest paintings in a place where I can take all the space I want to tell, as well as show, each painting - a private space outside of the big platforms like Deviantart and Artstation, which from my point of view they betrayed the world of artists, making all the contents available to the big AI companies when few still knew what was happening, so that Ai generated images suffocated the space meant for art created by humans. || 👩‍💻 www.greenedera.com ||

Awww, the 5e Dragonlance book states Lord Soth's fall from grace began when he fell in love with an elf lady and married her right after the death of his wife.
Look, my very first D&D book (before I even knew what D&D was) was Knight of the Black Rose. Then I read Dragonlance. This lukewarm retcon...is meh.
Soth is a tragic gothic villain. His actual sins should be of tragic gothic scale. I *remember* what he did and "hasty marriage" ain't it.

A statue of Lord Soth overgrown with roses (Kevin McCann cover art for the 1999 Ravenloft novel Spectre of the Black Rose by James Lowder and Voronica Whitney-Robinson, a sequel to 1991's Knight of the Black Rose; as reproduced in Masters of Dragonlance Art, WOTC, 2002)
The composition was inspired in part by the cover of John Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which featured Sylvia Shaw Judson's statue Bird Girl against a menacing background, and by McCann's childhood memory of being lost in a Victorian cemetery on a dark, cloudy day.

Dragonlance doodles ❣️
(After a whole year in digital, I had forgotten how fun it is to just doodle with a fude pen on a sketchbook without thinking too much 🥲)

Today was just not Lord Soth's day. After being fired from his job as a Wal-Mart Greeter, Soth tried a brief stint in lonely walking with a bag over his shoulders all 70s Hulk style. But then a routine traffic stop at the Bridge of Death resulted in disaster. When asked to address the flip flops in his character, Soth reportedly could only shrug. And thus he was thrown into the gaping maw of oblivion. Hopes for Soth's return seem to be plummeting.

My DM brain is going absolutely fearal right now. The urge to do a DragonLance game is very very strong.
I wanna have a very tired and annoyed lord soth deal with my unhinged players.
