-// You ever look back at your first bit of art for this AU and then now and go, holy heck, look at how far we've come and look at how much I've improved! - because I started back chronologically again for the first time in awhile, and DANG. you ever thought of doing like... a redraw of any of your old stuff? for fun?
Honestly I get mixed feelings when I see my old stuff. On one hand I'm like wow, I've come an long way and my skills have improved so much. But on the other hand I'm also like OH GOD EW! That's how my drawings used to look? CRINGE! XD I get really uneasy when I see people today like my stuff from 2-3 years ago. My old pencil and paper drawings and even some of my earliest digital comics are ones I always wanna sweep under the rug and kinda forget about XD but you know, I get it. We all start from somewhere and I started out traditionaly, not even knowing how to draw Mewtwo or people that well at first, now it's so much easier and I've improved immensely. Though some people still consider those old drawings "good" idk how or why but they do lol
And yes, I have plans to redraw a couple eventually.

As much as I hate looking at my old art that I refuse to delete from this blog... it's really nice to see how far I've come since then.
Especially as a self taught artist.
I've slowly but surely developed a better understanding of proportions and anatomy as well as gotten way better at different bodies and faces. My coloring has also improved and I've gotten a better eye for details and all.
Heck, poses and whatever else have also gotten better that I used to hate and struggle like nothing else with have improved tenfold from what it was just 2 or so years ago.
The reason I hate my old art is cuz I can see all the mistakes I've made and learned from and improved on in my current state in my artistic journey.
Keeping your old art around and looking back at it once in awhile is quite humbling and motivating to keep striving to get better.
Like.. I still have no understanding of shading/lighting but I'm working on it. Little by little. Finding ways that work and ways that don't, a trial and error experimentation.
I still struggle with making art with my inability to be creative (like coming up with my own ideas and concepts) but I'm always trying my best to get over that somehow.
Art sucks the whole time you're making it, but the end result is usually always satisfying. Be it cuz the work is finally over and you can finally stop looking at the dang piece, or cuz you are just really proud of how the piece came out and can't stop marveling at it, or because it's nice to see that others like it regardless of whether or not they can see anything wrong with it like you can, which is always a nice mental reminder.
All in all, even if I still struggle with making the art and hate looking at it, I know others wouldn't care about the little flaws or mistakes I see in it. They'd just look at it and react to it like a grandma thoroughly enjoying the crayon and marker drawing their grandchild made for them.
Tldr; Art, man. Art. 😔👍
