One Piece: Fan Devil Fruit Ideas
I have been thinking about One Piece lately, and I thought I could try my hand at developing some ideas for unique Devil Fruits that can be used within the world of the series. Here are two of them.
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi [Fizz-Fizz Devil Fruit]
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi is a Paramecia class Devil Fruit that turns the consumer into a Fizzy-Human. Granting them unique attributes and abilities: being able to manipulate carbonation and emit carbonated gas from their body. However, the more the User uses their powers, the weaker their abilities become until they consume specific beverages or CO2 gas canisters to replenish their inner stockpile. The user can increase the intensity of the carbonation with sharp, quick motions. Just like how a bottle of pop becomes pressurised once it has been shaken up.
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi is a weaker version of the Gasu-Gasu No Mi [Gas-Gas Devil Fruit].
Here is a small collection of moves/applications a user of this Devil Fruit could use. [Feel free to add more that you think would fit with the theme of this particular Devil Fruit]
Fizzy-Jump: A sudden burst of carbonated air or fluid from the user's feet to make a sudden leap or shift in a direction.
Fizzy-Burst: A sudden blast of carbonated air or fluid from the user's hands, capable of blocking/deflecting projectiles from their bodies.
Fizzy-Punch: A punch that is enhanced by a burst of carbonated air or liquid exploding out from the user's elbow to increase the speed and power of the strike.
Fizzy-Rush: A larger, longer version of Fizzy-Punch. Great at rushing down an opponent or surprise attacks; however, the longer the user uses this technique; the weaker Fizzy-Rush becomes.
Fizzy-Cloud: The user releases a massive cloud of CO2 gas, blanketing an area. The user becomes uncarbonated for an hour after using this technique and needs to naturally build it back up.
Pop-Cannon: When the user shakes their arms before throwing an object, releasing an instant burst of carbonated gas to propel the object hard.
Pop-Rocker: The user forces all their carbonated energy onto their fist and releases it all into a single focused point. Causing a contained explosion. In this technique, just like Fizzy-Cloud, the user becomes uncarbonated for an hour in exchange for such a powerful move.
Pop-Off: A stronger variant of Fizzy-Burst. There is more carbonated pressure in this move and rather than blocking or deflecting, it is used as a means of forcing or throwing enemies away from the user. The user becomes temporarily weaker after having used this technique.
Pop-Jet: A stronger version of Fizzy-Jump. Pop-Jet is a mild form of sustained carbonated propulsion using gas or liquid to shoot oneself across a far distance. The user becomes temporarily weaker after having used this technique.
Super-Soda: A technique that allows the user to push their powers to the limit, giving them access to all of their abilities for three minutes. But as a result, the user is temporarily paralysed, decarbonated, and dehydrated as a result of stressing their body to such a degree. In this state of super carbonation; the user can ignore any of the negative drawbacks of the Devil Fruit. Excessive use of this powerful technique can, however, kill the use
The Abura-Abura No Mi [Grease-Grease or Oil-Oil Devil Fruit]
The Abura-Abura No Mi [Grease-Grease/Oil-Oil Devil Fruit] is a Logia Devil Fruit. The fruit turns the user into an Oily-Human. Through which, they are capable of taking on the qualities or emitting oil in various states or forms. The fruit also leaves the user with slick, damp skin, which makes the user slippery [but not to the same extent as the Sube-Sube No Mi]. The user has an extra weakness in addition to the standard weaknesses; being exposed to absorbent material, an exfoliator, acids, or chemical solvent. As well as the user being very easy to burn or set on fire
Here is a small collection of moves/applications a user of this Devil Fruit could use. [Feel free to add more that you think would fit with the theme of this particular Devil Fruit].
Oil-Spill: The user releases a thin wave of translucent oil on the ground to cause it to become slippery and dangerous for people to walk on.
Grease-Trap: The user releases a large burst of oil that congeals around the target.
Grease-Ball: The user coats their hands in thick, congealing oil on their hands. The user can fire these off at enemies or objects.
Grease-Ball Crunchy Style: The same as the prior technique but the user as harsh or sharp objects in the grease like glass, nails, splinters, rock, etc.
Oily-Step: The user releases bursts of oil from their feet to create unstable platforms on a liquid surface. An avenue the hero can take to avoid being submerged in water.
Oil-Press: The user compresses their body before firing themselves as a jet of oil through a tight gap or cluttered space.
Grease-Glug: The user fires strong bursts or whips of oil from their body. It's often used to disorientate an opponent or to deflect an incoming attack.
Oil-Land: The user creates a large congealed platform of fatty oil to avoid being pulled into massive bodies of liquid.
Oily-Kenpo: The user enhances the preternatural coating of Oil on their skin to mimic the agility and speed of the Sube-Sube No Mi. This technique prioritises constantly increasing speed and abusing your opponent's momentum.
Oil-Burner: A truly double-edged technique. The user raises their temperature so much that they can cause their oil or grease to catch fire. It's an unstable technique that puts the user at great risk due to how flammable they have become. The technique also dries out the user, leaving the user unable to use any of their techniques or natural Devil Fruit abilities for a period of time.

Appearance
Marin is built bigger than most girls, being on the broader side, but is somewhat in shape. Marin’s skin is always tanned from spending time out in the sun and she has freckles crossing her face and shoulders. Her hair is curly and dirty blonde in color. Pre-time skip her hair is around her shoulder blade in length. Post time skip she cuts her hair to right under her shoulder length and pulls it half up in a messy bun. She keeps a slid cut in her left eyebrow. Marin’s eyes are turquoise blue, just like the sea waters she is named after. During the time skip Marin gauges her ears to a size 4.
Marin has several scars. Pre-time skip, she has a large scar running the majority of the length of her right shin. Marin obtained this scar when she was running away from home and she slipped on some sharp rocks. She also has a small scar on the inside of her left middle finger, but she can’t remember what caused this scar. Post-time skip Marin has a roundish scar on the top of her left hand from where she was punctured during a fight before she could activate her Devil Fruit Power. She also obtains a new scar that goes the opposite way across her right shin from banging her leg into a box on the ship.
Personality
Marin is on the quiet side, especially around new people. Once you’re friends with her though, she will do anything for you. Marin is usually the friend that is left hanging towards the back, but she uses this to be observant to things going on around her. Marin tries her hardest to be nice to everyone, but once you screw her over, she’s done with you. Marin is honest to a fault, sometimes more than she should be, but you’ll never have to guess where you stand with her.

The Jabu Jabu No Mi or Splash Splash Fruit is bright blue in color and covered in multiple swirls. In the right light, the color seems to change like the colors of the ocean. The stem somewhat resembles a faucet spout.
Being a Logia Type, this allows Marin to literally become water. Marin can also control water. Post-time skip, she has figured out how to heal with water as well. One of her more deadly attacks is creating water and surrounding her enemy’s head so they cannot breathe. She doesn't like to use this maneuver, but she will as a last ditch attack.

-The necklace Marin wears was made by her best friend, Kelpie (a mermaid), The mermaids around the island where Marin grew up were able to make beautiful ocean colored stones, adorning their bodies with them.
-Duing the 2 year time skip, Marin runs into Kelpie again and she makes her a pair of gauges to match her necklace.

History
Marin grew up on a small island in the North Blue that was famous for their agriculture. Marin’s family owned a prominent farm that her father and younger brother were heavily involved in. Marin had more interest in swimming and spending time in the gorgeous waters that surrounded the area. Marin became an excellent swimmer, rivaling even some of the mermaids that lived in the surrounding waters. When she was young, Marin made friends with a mermaid named Kelpie and they would play together all the time. Marin’s parents were not happy about this, being lowkey racist towards any race that was not human. People on this particular island were not fans of spending time on the water, as their livelihood came from the land. Once her parents found out that Marin’s best friend was a mermaid, they did whatever they could to keep Marin away from the waters and away from Kelpie. Marin would sneak out to swim and play with Kelpie. Marin’s parents found her sneaking out one day and threw her in a locked room with no windows. Marin would only be let out to use the restroom.
Rumors began to spread that Marin had to be half-Fishman or half-mermaid for as much as she loved the water. This pissed Marin’s mother off, causing her father to accuse her of cheating, even though that was not the case. Marin’s mother and father fought constantly and ended up taking it out on Marin, especially after these rumors came out. Marin’s parents heard about Devil Fruits one day and how people who consumed them could not be in the water. Marin’s mother and father sought out a Devil Fruit and were able to find a vendor who was trying to get rid of one. Once they found this Devil Fruit, they stopped feeding Marin and only put the Devil Fruit in the room with her. Her parents jested at her that she could only come out once she ate the Devil Fruit. Marin had heard about how Devil Fruit users could no longer swim, so she held out for as long as she could before finally caving and eating the Splash Splash Fruit. Marin was so hungry, she did not care how awful it tasted and ate the whole fruit. Marin’s mother and father laughed the entire time they were letting her out of the room.
As soon as she was released, Marin ran to the sea to find Kelpie. Marin cried as she told Kelpie what had happened to her and how she could no longer swim. Marin was so depressed knowing that she could never swim she tried to throw herself into the water. Kepie stopped her and said that she would always save her, no matter how many times Marin tried to get into the water. Kelpie made Marin one of her clan’s famed necklaces that looked like the sea, that way she would always have a piece of the ocean with her, even though she could no longer swim like she wanted.
The next few years were torture. Marin’s parents and brother would taunt her about no longer being able to swim. Marin eventually figured out what her Devil Fruit power was and was happy that it still connected her to water. In secret, Marin would practice honing her skills down at a hidden spot on the beach with Kelpie. Marin eventually learned how to manipulate water to be able to walk on and surf on it. Marin’s parents never figured out what her Devil Fruit abilities were until the night she ran away, not being able to take their torment anymore. Her mother and father tried to hold Marin back but she was able to slip through their fingers by turning into water. Cussing her, her father pulled a gun. Scared, Marin manipulated water to surround both her mother and father’s heads, submerging them and keeping them from breathing. Panic coated their faces, especially her mother, as her mother hated even getting her head wet while bathing. Marin said she would let them live if they let her leave and never looked for her. Her parents finally agreed, so Marin dropped the water and ran. Marin ran to the beach and surfed over the water and away from the island. Kelpie accompanied Marin until she ran into the Baratie, where she passed out from exhaustion.
Zeff found Marin and Kelpie explained to him what had happened. When Marin came to, Sanji offered Marin food to help her get her energy back. Marin thanked Sanji and he tried to flirt with both her and Kelpie, moreso Kelpie. Zeff told Marin that Kelpie explained her story and asked what her plan was. Marin explained that she had nowhere to go and no money. Zeff offered Marin a job on the Baratie and she happily accepted, doing odd jobs around the restaurant.

Time for a new one piece theory!
Are the wills of people passed down through the devil fruits? Yes, and no.
Logia fruits carry no will- they’re just an element, though which element you get may twist your personality slightly. (ie. dark=evil)
Zoan fruits carry the will or instincts of the animal. They reawaken ancient human instincts and bring out a wild side in the people who use them. This is how the animal kingdom pirates were able to figure out the weird things their dinosaur fruits could do.
Only paramecia fruits carry the wills of people, because there is no other wills to go off of. Every user of a paramecia fruit is one of the people who helped bring a fruit into existence, and those combined wills make the will of paramecia fruits.

Ancient Energy
Dr. Vegapunk revealed that the Ancient Kingdom was able to create a power source that provided unlimited energy. He wants to recreate it to fulfill his dream to provide abundant and free energy to everyone in the world. He believes it will one of the primary causes of war access to natural resources needed to create energy.
Lilith describes the energy as an undying flame.
Vegapunk stated that the world was full of energy. It seems like maybe he and Lilith are talking about nuclear fusion. But I think it is something else.
I believe the energy originates from the Land of the Dead. Brook stated that it was the power of his soul that was keeping him alive. By extension that goes for the Homies created from Big Mom's Soru Soru no Mi. It allows objects to move without the necessary biological processes.
I think there there is a connection to Logias as well. Vegapunk revealed that he hasn't been able to crack how to recreate their powers. Similar to the the ancient energy. Logias can generate a near-infinite amount of a certain element. I think Logias are powered by this ancient energy which is why Vegapunk has not been able to create them.
I think there are clues to this. Lilith stated she wanted to create a sun.
Users of the Soru Soru no Mi can create miniature suns. Like I stated before she envisioned the ancient energy as an undying flame. Sakazuki turned half of Punk Hazard into a land of fire.
The soul was brought up in the arc through a flashback. Vegapunk revealed that there was a scholar in the West who discovered that the soul weighs 21 grams.
I'm not sure why Logias would be powered this way but in some belief systems nature is connected to spirituality. The Shandians believed that the souls of their ancestors resided in holy white trees.
And they believed in gods that ruled over natural forces.
I think Vegapunk will examine Brook's Yomi Yomi no Mi to finally achieve his dream. As Vegapunk explained Devil Fruit powers are the manifestations of people dreams.

The introduction of Haki in One Piece was sorta funny. Like Blackbeard shows up with the Yami Yami No Mi and punches Ace! And our boy is so confused! How could this happen!
Like this was the most insane part of Blackbeard's ability to me when it happened. This dude could hit Logia users! The invulnerable forces of nature that people had only ever managed to beat on technicalities!
And then Haki comes along and everyone and their mum in the New World can hurt them. Literally the Logia users post-time skip are throwaway enemies (Caribou) or relatively minor antagonists like Monet or Cesar that serve a much more dangerous paramecia user.

Una vez un viejo que era masón ofreció su padrinazgo para hacerme entrar en una logia. Ya tenía razones para negarme con gentileza, porque no me gusta jugar a los secretos y tampoco me atrae la idea de juntarme con otras personas para sentirme especial o que formo parte de sabe dios qué (oh gran arquitecto). Pero la cosa empeoró. Por intermedio de la persona culpable de que el viejo supiera de mi existencia me enteré de lo siguiente: yo le caí bien, a quien solo veía en eventos sociales (cumpleaños, fin de año, alguna navidad). Luego de sacarme en esos encuentros toda la información sobre mí que necesitaba para evaluar si yo era digno de ser un proyecto de masón, decidió profundizar en mi alma. La persona intermediaria me contó que el viejo hizo alguna cosa con un péndulo para conocer aspectos mios espirituales, y encima maldita sea mi suerte descubrió cosas fantásticas y fabulosas que confirmaban que yo era un candidato ideal. Me lo contaba fascinadísima, convencida de que aquello era lo más parecido a un milagro que me podía pasar. A mi me repugnó. Soy muy cuidadoso con mi privacidad, me gusta elegir a quien le cuento qué cosas de mi y a quien no. Eso incluye mis vidas pasadas, el color de mi aura, la velocidad a la que giran mis chakras, o lo que mierda quisiera averiguar el viejo sobre mi eternidad. Así que le dije que yo no podía aceptar la invitación de nadie que violara mi intimidad, ya fuera corporal o etérea.
Hay personas que creen que todo lo espiritual es señal de algo mejor, a mi la actitud del viejo solo me dio una señal de chusmerío, aunque fuera a nivel astral.
Me dieron ganas de ahorcarlo con su propio cordón de plata y apuñalarle el tercer ojo con un cuchillo fabricado en el bajo astral, así aprende a no meter la punta de su péndulo en la intimidad de nadie sin su consentimiento.
