Last life possessed me, and I SWEAR I was only gonna do the Scar-Mumbo and the Bdubs-Grian boogey kills, but once I started doing these, I couldn’t stop sfjvskgrksfl which. led to watching several compilations and Chrisrin’s Curses animation like 50 times to make sure I got everything and… well here we are DRGJSFGK featuring my mess of a thumbnail sketch page as a preview for the others to come :]

PolySouthlanders Royal Fic Idea

Jimmy is sent to the capital by his noble family’s home in the countryside to win favor at court, as Prince Grian has been known to have an interest in pretty men, gathering a group of successful and attractive men around him with rumors of relationships between some of them. Jimmy isn’t needed for succession, his sister is being trained for that role, but he was essentially told not to come back unless he managed to catch the eye of the prince.

While he doesn’t manage to meet the Prince, he does manage to meet Martyn, a lord’s son who he later learns is next in line to become the Royal Enchanter, a well known magical position at court.

Martyn later introduces him to his fiance, Mumbo, who Jimmy is impressed to find out is a redstone genius. Jimmy does end up feeling slightly badly about the fact that he had begun to crush on an engaged man, but eventually gets over it when he sees just how much Mumbo and Martyn adore one another.

That’s when he meets Impulse, the heir to a large trading company. Impulse is funny and has so many stories from traveling to make business deals that Jimmy quickly finds himself falling for him. It’s only when Impulse asks Jimmy to help him sneak out to the gardens to meet his lover, G, that the countryside noble realizes he has once again fallen for a taken man.

And again, he really can’t feel jealous, not when he meets G and sees just how excited the man is to be with Impulse. Not when G smiles at him like he knows some great secret and makes Jimmy feel like someone important. Not when Jimmy realizes that he somehow wishes that these men in the capital had more space in their hearts.

When Jimmy gets a formal invitation for a courtship from Prince Grian, he’s shocked. He’s never met the man, how could the prince have interest in him? Accepting the invitation is a foregone conclusion. It’s not just family expectation, it’s the next best thing if he can’t love any of his crushes the way he wishes he could.

Jimmy could never have expected that walking into the prince’s receiving room would mean G sitting in finery with Mumbo and Impulse to each side of him, Martyn barely any further away where he holds Mumbo’s hand.

The invitation suddenly means something very different. Maybe now he can love them all. And maybe he did catch the prince’s attention after all.

My headcanon that Jimmy wasn’t a canary hybrid before the Life Series, but being put in the games turned him into one, and nobody remembers their lives before the games so everyone assumes Jimmy was always a bird guy, including himself. But since he wasn’t, he isn’t actually used to being one.

Part one since I have a lot of ideas for this but this was the only one I managed to draw. Takes place in the Southlands (Last Life).

Also Jimmy has below average knowledge of avians cuz it’s funnier that way and also feels in character. Nobody thinks this is strange they’re just like “oh typical clueless Jimmy”

Watcher! Grian & Martyn Idea

Okay- hear me out:

Both Grian and Martyn(Inthelittlewoods) are Watchers! But specifically, they are both Born Watchers instead of Made Watchers(which I think is canon Grian-)

Anyways, they were Watcher children at some point, but different types of Watchers(sorta like clans, but for natural existence) like Grian is a Watcher of the Sun, but Martyn is a Watcher of the Woods, and both had to be separated at some point(either because them being together, as two different Watchers, was destroying the balance of existence or because the Watchers are homophobic(/j))

Either way, separated, oh no-

But then 3rd Life and Last Life happen and tHEY START GETTING MEMORIES OF BEING WATCHERS-
