I wrote a thing about Pearl winning Double life.
-
Pearl groaned feeling the pain of her soulmate blowing himself up, it was confusing among other things.
"Welcome you 2- wait Grian there is only one person here," Scott said. She looked confused at Scott. He had his old red skin on rather than the one he had.
"Well he said that everyone had a pair, or well 'soulmate' so they'd die together," Grian replied. Pearl looked at Grian then back at Scott."Scott why did you blow us up?" Pearl asked almost sounding annoyed
"What? Wait you mean the other me, don't you?" Scott said "What do you mean 'other you' and why are you wearing your old red life skin?" Pearl then looked over at Grian "And what are you doing here?"
"You want to explain this place to her or me?" Grian asked Scott "I can," Scott answered "So Pearl you know how you died from an explosion?"
"Yes of course I know Scott, you killed me!" Pearl said confusingly"Well you did die, but this is the afterlife," Scott said, but that left Pearl more confused
"I guessed that but why are you wearing your old skin? Where is everyone else? Why is Grian here?" Pearl asked
"Well this is the winners afterlife, only people who won a season can be here," Scott said. "Grian won 3rd life, I won last life, and you and the other me won Double life, but for some reason he isn't here..." Scott explained
"Aren't you Scott though? Why is there an 'other' you," Pearl asked
"You see once you win the god who created this entire thing makes a copy of your soul and puts it in the normal afterlife, but the original you once you die goes to this afterlife," Scott answered
"When do we leave?" Pearl asked"You don't," Scott answered plainly"What about hermitcraft I have to go to the next season!" Pearl said
"Your clone will deal with that," Scott said which freaked Pearl out "It's not all bad though, this place can give you anything you want,"
"Can I get Tilly?" Pearl asked"Aw your dog, of course!" Scott said as he created Tilly from nothing Pearl instantly holding the dog as she licked her face.
"How do you know about Tilly?" Pearl asked curiously
"We have a TV that we can watch the seasons from, in fact we can watch all of our clones lives after and before the season," Scott explained. He then grabbed the remote and changed the channel to Pearl's channel where she was mining.
"Hey Scott, I was watching that!" Grian said. Scott rolled his eyes.
"Pearl is new, I have to explain things to her," Scott said "You should get stop watching TV anyway Grian, we need to talk to him about her soulmate not coming here, he won too after all," Grian reluctantly got up and they both started to leave.
"Wait Scott, who is 'he'?" Pearl asked. Making Scott stop
"I will tell you about him later, it's a lot to explain. I don't want to overwhelm you with too much information, but you can watch whatever you'd like on TV, we'll be back soon. The 2 of them left. She sat on the couch and looked through the channels. Some people she knew, like Gem or Jimmy, but some she didn't like Tommyinnit or Ranboo. She put on a random person and laid down on the couch with Tilly on top of her.

The thing I love about Pearl in the Life series is that she delights in the game of it. Not in the same way others might, but you can see her having fun constantly. She knows it’s all a game, that she’s being watched, and she plays it like a champ. Pearl got the last boogey kill in Last Life, one that was ultimately pointless but it was flashy and she’d planned it for so long that she never regretted it. Pearl effectively gave the group one more enemy and she giggled about it. I mean, even in Double Life where she was very lonely and hurting, she laughed when people were scared of her antics. She played up the “harbinger of doom” thing, you can just hear a big smile on her face when anyone else runs from her in fear. Pearl was in Evo too, she knows about the Watchers, she’s probably somewhat aware they’re behind the Life games, so she makes hers a game worth watching

Something I adore about last life was that it made it absolutely clear that the amount of lives you were given at the start DID NOT MATTER, it was what you did with them.
I’m obsessed with the fact that the final two, Scott and Ren? They both started on two lives, TWO. And not all that many people started in two in the first place. What did they do? They made deals, they made friends, they made allies. Ren with Lizzie, Scott with Pearl. And you know what they both were? Loyal.
You could argue that all those with six lives were stupid, giving them away like they were nothing. But look at Pearl, at almost every opportunity she gave to Scott, to make them even. She was the last one standing who started with six lives. Pretty sure the next closest was Joel, and he was on red almost instantly and for the longest.
Martyn? He started on four, nothing to laugh at. He was the last yellow, the third placement. He was CAREFUL. He gave away one life, and not for anything in return, in the name of unity, of equality.
If the last two standing both started with six lives, people would complain of the imbalance. I have seen not a single person say that last life was unfair, even though, objectively, it was! Because in the end, it didn’t matter how many lives you got. Everyone had a chance.

something interesting about how rivalries don't tend to carry over across life games, but allyships do. the hate doesn't stay, people will team with their erstwhile enemies and trust them and there will be no "hey remember when you tried to kill me in a previous season?"
but when it comes to allyships, when it comes to interpersonal relationships...then it's all "unguided hand" and "for the bad boys" and "they never left the desert". archenemies of prior seasons will trust each other quicker than an alliance that fell to betrayal. people who hurt each other from universe to universe will find themselves drawn back nevertheless, circling around each other, holding on while they try desperately to get away.
the hate leaves, but the love lingers.

So, Team Ranchers, today your Team T.I.E.S. Tango of the Tek variety has committed direct crimes against your Bad Boys Jimmy ‘Tim’ Solidarity by means of blowing up his Bad Boys Bread Bridge (alias Grainbow Road) and put him in a mourning period.
Meanwhile, Flower husbands, your one Mean Gills Scott Dangthatsalongname S. Smajor (1995) has assisted your Bad Boys Jimmy ‘Tim’ Solidarity by locating his missing toad [by the name of Judge Judy and Executioner] before the animal was then killed by one Noisy Neighbors Pearlescent Moon.
Team Ranchers how do you plead?
