Thinking about Syril doing his own tailoring.... how did he learn? Did Eedy teach him or did he teach himself? Has he been sewing since he was a kid? What do sewing kits even look like in the gffa? Does he go fabric shopping? Does he genuinely enjoy doing it or is it just a necessity to him? I’m fascinated.

why are the 4star medics so good i just read chestnut's profile and. this precious man. the wear and tear of being a doctor getting to him but then just. recentering himself, and still with doubt in heart, deciding to keep going. why are the 4star medics so good tumblr user aresmarked?
...y'know anon, i was thinking of a joking answer (they're all alters in waiting) but i think everyone has At Least one 4* medic they hold in their heart because they are real in a way most of the higher ranked ones cannot be. Real, in a, 'we could be doctors and scientists and paramedics and nurses like them' way. people who know well their limits and expertise, and hone themselves everyday to try helping just one more, one more person. Chestnut's attempt to come to terms with how much cannot be prevented, Sussurro's exhaustion in her operator record... all grounded.

corus’s horrid little sw thought of the day:
when did Cal cut his braid? do you ever think about him having to cut it himself? on the way down to Bracca, or sitting there in the wreckage of the escape pod? with what was left of his late master’s lightsaber, so that he might not be recognized as a jedi?
and is that less or MORE emotionally damaging than if Tapal had cut it in the moments before his death?

mum's reaction to the kitchen was "wow" then "very clever" and then just a lot of nostalgia for her time spent in london
i'm still pretty much casually impressed. as a debut, i really like it. and yes, i'm a daniel kaluuya stan at my core but that's not why i liked it.
i really loved the humanity of it, the characters, the visuals. i would have wanted a few things tweaked for like. maximum impact but i saw daniel talk about how sometimes you can't get the perfect shot when you're limited on time and money and like. fair. it's a debut.
i also really enjoyed the visuals of london pre- and post gentrification. it's a dystopia but the feeling is accurate right now, too. and shooting it in london was such a good choice bc it just tugs at my heartstrings immediately. like. the way those glass boxes creep closer to the communities where people live really fucks me up as a london lover (brick lane my beloved) and i loved seeing it. the coldness and drabness of the luxury flat. the wanting to leave but not actually, not really bc it's not the place that's shit. idk if that makes sense.
i wonder how people not in london feel. or people not affected by gentrification.

I WAS WATCHIN DEH TIKTOKS AND I SWEAR TO MIKE FAIST- I DON'T WANNA HEAR ANOTHER WORD OF "So apparently in the movie *insert very real thing that happened in the book* and did that ever even happen in the original show?" LIKE OKAY I have not seen the movie (I do know the story though, duh, and I'mma watch the movie tomorrow) BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT IT IS SO BAD THAT EVERY SINGLE PERSON ONLINE HAS TO HATE ON IT!!!! Also with the 'Ben Platt is too old' thing: I HAVE WATCHED CLIPS OF THE MOVIE AND HE DOES NOT LOOK TOO OLD TO ME!!!!!!! And are we gonna talk about how awesome Ben Platt is in general??? He has like, a wicked voice and is flat out amazing, and all we can talk about is how hes TO OLD FOR THE ROLE I'm sorry but no. I'll let ya'll know if I change my mind after watching the movie but- DEAR EVAN HANSEN SAVED MY LIFE SO PEOPLE CAN SHUT THE FUCK UP

The only two times we hear Minkowski and Eiffel hug (which represent half of the canonical hugs in the whole podcast) are in Ep31 (Sécurité) and Ep54 (The Watchtower). Both hugs occur after Eiffel has been missing out in space and Minkowski has had very good reason to believe that he's dead.
When he returns from being missing in action for the first time, Minkowski hugs him so tightly that he can barely breathe. Then immediately afterwards, she's embarrassed and apologetic; "sorry, I don't know what I'm doing…" (A few more of my thoughts on that hug here)
In contrast, when he returns from being missing in action for a second time, it's him who "embraces her tightly" (quote from the script directions). And I think it's not just that he wants to give her a hug, although of course he does. It's also that he thinks she will want to give him a hug and he knows she hasn't always found that open affection easy.
He could have hugged her without saying anything about it, he could have said something about him giving her a hug, but instead he asks her to hug him ("C'mere, give us a hug"). He asks her to do what his past experiences suggest she will want to do anyway but will feel self-conscious about. In that casual way - perhaps without even consciously thinking about it - he gives her permission to let her guard down the way he thinks she'll want to. And he doesn't know that she's not able to appreciate that gesture in that moment. He doesn't know that her desire to hug him is being suppressed by far more sinister forces than her attempts at composure.
