Hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin offered “denazification” as a flimsy pretext for his invasion of Ukraine, Russian missiles hit the Jewish hub of Uman, Ukraine, killing at least one civilian. Ukraine has begun evacuating its cities of civilians, including Uman.
This article is from February 2022, but the pictures below are from April 2023, as Putin continues bombing Uman, an historic city with a mostly Jewish population.

Ah yes, Russia is bombing and attacking heavily Jewish, civilian population centers like Dnipro, Uman and Odesa to “denazify” Ukraine. Because of course they are.
Makes total sense, IF you’re a braindead tankie who eats up Russian propaganda.
“If you still believe Vladimir Putin’s propaganda that he’s trying to de-Nazify Ukraine, you should talk to Ukrainian Jews. They don’t buy a word of it.”

The Russian monument in Znamensky, Krasnodar has grown quite a bit… • First presented on 13 July with 3 plaques + 24 names. • On 29 July a new part was unveiled with 4 plaques + 80 names of Russian invaders killed in Ukraine. July 30, 2023. Source: KIU • Russian Officers killed in Ukraine
P.S. Small news, but pleasant, Russian invaders are dying in large numbers in Ukraine...It is a relatively small settlement. If there are so many casualties from just one such place, then the real losses of the Russian army are huge. Russia is actually a poor country and its resources are not infinite. Ukrainians must arm themselves with patience and continue to defend their land until the Russian villages and cities run out of fools...
P.S. By the 522nd day of the war, the Russian army has lost about 245,700 (+480) soldiers in Ukraine. Just a little more time and a quarter of a million Russians will have died in "honour" of the bloody dictatorship of Putler...Then add the wounded, maimed, missing and escaped deserters...and the picture becomes quite interesting. Only crazy idiots will continue to invest in the Kremlin's economy...

WARNING: this incoherent ramble contains some of my thoughts about ruSSias invasion of Ukraine and speculation of a dark future. Also a tiiny bit about my mental health.
WARNING ENDS
I'm a Finn and the horrors of russian (soviet) invasions are still part of the living history, even among my relatives. My hobby also is studying history. I've also picked up a habit of engaging in the information war that is currently ongoing which means I also follow russian propaganda, russian forums and other discussion groups. Also Ukrainian forums, discussions and news.
My heart hurts so much, seeing a democratic nation being invaded by it's bigger, neighbouring dictatorship. If anyone reading this has been thinking that russia is a democracy, I have this little metal tower in Paris I'd like to sell you.
But the thing is, I'm already doing pretty much everything I can, which is aforementioned info war. Fighting against the overwhelming amount of bullshit from russian troll farms and propaganda, with facts and proof. It's pretty exhausting.
Recently, there was a news article about a new entry to the long list of our fallen heroes, his name, Kasper Alhoniemi. He was 23, a volunteer in ЗСУ, armed forces of Ukraine. And considering the propaganda narrative and talk on russian social medias, I fear he won't be the last. If putler, (that bastard doesn't have my respect so i won't give him the honour of his real name or having his name capitalised) wins in Ukraine, even a token win, the Baltic nations, Poland and/or Finland will be next. And putlers dictatorship isn't as stable it seems. He needs a win in Ukraine. Especially now that Donbas, Luhansk and Crimea are ruSSian soil by russian law that he passed. A claim that no sane mind recognises.
I belive many of you here in Tumblr are pacifist, anti-gun and all of that. Hell, I wish I could be like you and that I wouldn't need to write this. Or even think about this whole situtation.
Dictators like putler don't understand anything else but violence. That was made clear by two certain moustache men in 1940s.
I fear that we Finns will need to soon fight our age old rivals, the russian dictatorship. On our land, yet again. Defending our homes, defending our families. I wish I was fit enough to do what Kasper did, volunteered to Ukraine. To die a heroes death. Defending a democratic nation against an invading army. That's also one of the three reasons why I've kept myself alive for now. If I need to die for the fatherland, I'm willing to sacrifice myself.
I'm not sure if I tried to recover from anorexia now and start training to get myself to be fit enough for combat, would I be able to do that in time to also volunteer in AFU. If they'd even accept me.
My speculation based on ruSSian propaganda and social medias is: If russia gets a win, even a token win in 2 years from now, in the next 5 years, russia will start "special military operation" in the Baltics to get a land connection to what I call Königsberg, and russians call Kaliningrad. The other possibility is that they'll launch a "SMO" against us Nordic countries. Their aim being Norways oil fields. And us Finns being in NATO now as well as being in the route from moscow to Atlantic coast, that'd mean that I need to get myself ready. But also, anorexia... That sweet hell it is... I don't want to get better but I want to be ready. That'd mean I'd need to get better.
I've had couple of sleepless nights trying to get my thoughts in order... I don't know what to do...
All I can say that it was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel. It was supposed to be space travel....
Not plagues, cold war 2 and WW3...
Why must there be men whit such sick minds and little dicks like putler that they need to start wars, order war crimes, murder their own people and attempt to destroy many nations of people and their culture to feel good about themselves...

Sad DK is like the ignored girl in this case😔
I'm with you, anon! Still hoping for an encore of her & JL. I mean, it took 7 years once, never say never. DK is totally his taste and if Putler hadn't stsrted his megalomaniac insanity, they would have met again. Not summoning her back immediately is JL's tactic, and IMO no indicator for disinterest from his side. He just got cockblocked by Putler. TTT is way too 'loud' and a little too 'cheap'. DK has an innocence and elegance, which JL finds very alluring (same as Val). TTT is easy and way too willing entertainment that he enjoys for a day or two and then he's off to enjoy life without her.
Yep I am 7 billion % sure he's gonna ditch Thinnie and end up "finding" a new mini-VK like DK. 💯

[ad_1] Russian President Vladimir Putin's annexation of a number of Ukrainian areas this week is being in comparison with Adolf Hitler seizing elements of Europe earlier than and on the onset of World War II."The parallels are eerie and, after decades of over-using the Hitler analogies, we finally have a case where they are apt," Daniel Fried, a former U.S. ambassador to Poland and present Atlantic Council researcher, was quoted by Politico.Fried is just not the one determine drawing "parallels" between the actions of Putin and Hitler. Sergiy Kyslytsya, who serves because the everlasting consultant of Ukraine to the United Nations, shared a video with a caption that referred to Putin's annexation speech on Friday, however truly confirmed Hitler addressing a big crowd of his supporters."Oops! Wrong annexation video but good [thing] that Putler's finale will be the same as of Hitler," Kyslytsya wrote, referring to Putin in a mixture of his and Hitler's names.Following Kremlin-backed referendums this week and final that U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned could be "manipulated," Putin formally announced on Friday the annexation of Ukraine's Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia areas. Western officers have repeatedly decried the referendums and annexation as unlawful and illegitimate. Russian President Vladimir Putin meets with the Moscow-appointed heads of 4 Ukrainian areas occupied by Russia, on the Grand Kremlin Palace on September 30 in Moscow. Putin’s annexation of a number of Ukrainian areas this week is being in comparison with Adolf Hitler seizing elements of Europe earlier than and on the onset of World War II. Contributor/Getty Images "I strongly condemn Russia's illegal annexation of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. It is a serious violation of both international law and Ukraine's sovereignty," French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday.Meanwhile, Ukraine has harassed that the annexation is not going to alter its army targets of finally liberating all territory from Russian management."We will liberate our territory by military means. And our actions depend not so much on what the Russian Federation thinks or wants, but on the military potential Ukraine has," Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak stated in an interview with the Associated Press printed Thursday. In March 1939, Hitler's forces invaded and occupied Czechoslovakia following the signing of the Munich Pact, based on History.com. Germany had annexed Austria the yr earlier than.Czechoslovakia ceased to exist in 1992 and was succeeded by the brand new states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Several months after the Czechoslovakia occupation, Hitler's invasion of Poland in September 1939 spurred Great Britain and France to make warfare declarations towards Germany in what is taken into account to be the start of World War II.Notably, Putin and Russian officers have repeatedly stated that considered one of their targets within the warfare is the "denazification" of Ukraine, though its chief, Zelensky, is Jewish."Honestly sickening how one little delusional guy can with one speech change the nationality of millions. How does history keep breeding these psychos: Hitler, Stalin and now #putin," Lesia Vasylenko, a member of Ukraine's parliament, tweeted Friday.Newsweek reached out to the Kremlin for remark. Revisiting another old pal
Tumblr media
Wow, wonky crooked photo. Anyway. I bought a Modwave back in spring, and that thing sounds mad, very nice, easily into Microwave II XT territory and beyond thanks to PCM waveforms being included. It also has all the waveforms from the DW-6000 and DW-8000 in four tables, but I haven't messed with them yet because it seems that there is no way in any menu anywhere to click a button and get an initialized patch on the Modwave. Well at least I can't find a way. Anyone out there know? Tell me! But because it has those wavetables, I remember liking a handful of presets from the 6000 and was like hmmmmm maybe I can recreate them, but I'll need a 6000 to use as a model. Should be easy to find one, they're always on the auction, and never more than like $150. Ha! Waited AGES for one to finally get listed, and ended up paying ¥20,000 (like $135 with the exchange rate being what it is now, but to me it's more like $200). But yeah I got one. First thing to do....
Tumblr media
Replace all the tact switches! Easy enough job. Finished in half an hour. Had the parts in a box already. Works perfectly now. Had a few iffy buttons before. The chorus has an odd noise though, like when the LFO is at its peak there's an extra whoosh of white noise in there so the MN3209 probably needs to be replaced, so I bought one off the auction as a guy had one listed. Pretty coincidental. Anyway. This synth had the most dust and extra surprises inside of any second hand synth that I've ever had. When I got it, I set it on its side and heard something inside going kablonk bump thonk boomp thud. Whaaaaat? Flipped it other way up, same series of suspect sounds. Opened it up to find a TON of dust everywhere, and these:
Tumblr media
Left to right, post office eraser (another one of these was stuck under the power supply PCB), Black half-size marker, spaceship toy. I was like how the fuck did these get in here?!?! But then I saw that there is a big gap between the ends of the keys and the bottom panel there so yeah ok, some kid crammed his toys in there when dad wasn't looking, I guess. Madness! I also did this:
Tumblr media
Recapped the power supply PCB. I had to lay down the large value caps as they were a different form factor from the originals, but they don't sit on parts that get hot, and they're out of the way, so whatever. Works fine. I wanna test the three large value caps on the left there to see how out of value they are, if at all. Can't find my multimeter that measures capacitance though. Where the hell did I put that thing? Hmmm.
And the failing Ruzzian invasion of Ukraine is in its hundred something day now. I won't be surprised if this little special military operation ends up being a special end of Ruzzia as we know it operation. Putler fucked up big time. The Ukrainians are never going to give up. And with the increased western assistance and advanced weapons systems they're getting? Sheeeeit. I say give them the long range HIMARS missiles and let the striking of targets within Ruzzia begin! See how they like their sunny little afternoons interrupted by the unscheduled arrival of high explosives. I learned that in Ukraine, they're referring to the occupants as svinakobacha, which is like schweinhund in German: pig-dog. Good on them. Pig-dogs fuck off! Kinda feel sorry for the people in Ruzzia, but not really. Let them suffer for the actions of their dickface dictator. And now do you wanna know how I really feel? Hahahahaha. Sucks because I love old soviet era synth stuff.... Oh well. Slava Ukraini!

what happened in my city...
This blog is maintained by a young girl from Kharkiv, the city of Ukraine.
12 days ago - it was Thursday - I woke up at 5 am from the sound of explosion. I didn’t know and couldn’t believe this was a beginning of the worst days of my life. Me, my family and thousands of people in Kharkiv - we couldn’t imagine that Russia, which we have a common border with, would attack us, kill us, destroy us.
They did it at 5 am - same way as nazis attacked our country 80 years ago (Hitler did it at 4 am).
Let me explain: it’s been 8 years of russian aggression on eastern regions of Ukraine, 8 years of ukrainian territories annexed, still - despite all of that, -  there was a very strong connection between my hometown Kharkiv and russian city Belgorod which we have the common border with - lots of us have relatives, families, friends living there. For historical reasons, Kharkiv is mostly russian-speaking city, and that made P*tin think that once his army crossed our border, people of Kharkiv will surrender. He thought we, as russian-speakers, will meet russian soldiers with flowers and greetings.
BUT WE DIDN’T.
Because Kharkiv is Ukrainian city. Ukraine is our homeland, not Russia, never been. People - I mean, simple civilians, - resisted. We started defend our land, spread truthful information, help Ukrainian troops and literally communicate with russian soldiers, demanding to leave our land. Even those loyal to Russia because of the family connections. All those russian speakers. We told the world and told russians - WE ARE STANDING WITH UKRAINE, we are ukrainians.
And this is someting P*tin couldn’t forgive us. He was sure he will take us for 2-3 days. He was sure we wil stand in applause once his army will enter the city. We didn’t.
THEN HE STARTED TO ATTACK CIVILIAN AREAS.
Russians attack civilian buildings, schools, kindergarten, playgrounds, museums and reserves, universities, sports complexes, swimming pools, cinemas, restaurants, markets, grocery stores. They kill people and kill animals.
They cannot forgive us our courage. They can't accept that we weren't afraid.
5 russian bombs were thrown to my backyard. I still don’t understand how me, my parents and our cat came out alive. It’s a miracle. Eight of my neighbors were killed - people just came out to get some water, when Russia attacked our neighborhood from the sky. I have a little blog, I’m not popular and I don’t expect for a feedback. But I just want the world to know a story about my beautiful brave and strong Kharkiv. A city of people that didn’t surrender.
A city that Putin personally takes revenge on.
I don’t know which city will be the next. It could be Paris or Vienna, Warsawa or Hamburg. It can be Los Angeles and New York, Houston and  Chicago - I’m not kidding guys that man is psycho, he thinks his army is the strongest.
For all your peaceful existance, for tasty breakfasts and hugging with your pets, for safe walking and bicycles ridings, for listening to Adele’s new music and watching new Batman. My people are standing strong and don't let russians to come to your houses the way they did to mine.
Please, support ukrainians all over the world, don’t make this agenda disappear. Thus we, as a nation, will disappear and there will be no border between P*tin and your families. NATO denied helping us with the sky forces, the sky wich russians used to attack my backyard. So they denied to protect your future.
Please donate, informationaly support, invest in Ukraine, the country Putler started with:

There is really little difference between Hitler and Putin in terms of thinking. Some people have started referring to him as Putler.
Just because Putin has less body hair doesn’t mean he isn’t like Der Führer.

In the coming days/weeks, you’re going to hear a lot about how Ukraine should accept the terms of surrender (as that’s what they are) offered by Russia—how they’d be “stupid” not to, how Zelenskyy should “do the right thing for his people” and prioritize saving lives, how peace should be the priority and we can’t always get what we want.
Make no mistake: even if Russia intends to uphold these terms once Zelenskyy accepts them, this is a terrible deal for Ukraine and a terrible deal for the world.
First of all, there’s no guarantee that Russia will respect a cease fire or peace treaty. Obviously that’s always the case with war, but it’s especially the case when they’ve already violated multiple cease fire agreements by firing on and murdering evacuating civilians, including children. So there’s your peace treaty.
Second, the terms that Russia has presented include virtually all of Putin’s actual goals for this illegal invasion (obviously “de-Nazification” and “de-militarization” were just lies à la “weapons of mass destruction,” a rhetorical tactic that really ought to be familiar to any self-respecting American leftist). Ukraine would forfeit its claim on the territories Russia has already illegally annexed/recognized, it would be forced to change its constitution (!!!) to commit to never joining any “pacts” (EU, NATO, anything else that forms in the future), and it would retain Zelenskyy as a figurehead while installing a pro-Russian actual government leadership.
This is—and I cannot stress this enough—not a “compromise” or a “peace treaty.” It’s terms of surrender. And the lesson learned here is that Russia can continue invading and terrorizing sovereign states without any actual consequences—remember, Putin doesn’t personally care about Western sanctions. He doesn’t care if his people are plunged into poverty as long as he and his cronies aren’t, and they won’t be. He’s furious about the sanctions because he finds them personally offensive and because they confirm his victim complex, not because he’s legitimately worried for his people like Zelenskyy is.
Third, and perhaps most importantly, Putin has made it extremely clear that he seeks to rebuild a Russian empire. He will not stop with Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk. (And make no mistake—Luhansk and Donetsk are not independent sovereign states like Ukraine; they’re simply Russian satellites.) He will not stop with forced regime change in Belorus, Georgia, Syria, and Ukraine. (And even if he did—isn’t that awful enough?) He is not “concerned about Russia’s security” or “worried about NATO’s encroachment” or whatever his extensive social media operation has you believing. He’s not concerned or worried about anything. He’s a dictator expanding his empire. He is exactly what you all feared Trump was.
I believe that this “offer” from Russia to Ukraine serves two purposes, and neither of them is to establish a lasting peace and autonomy for each country. One is to give Putin a potential way to back out of a war that has already gone much worse than he expected and cost him significantly in terms of personnel and equipment. (Not the sanctions—like I said, I don’t think he personally cares about the sanctions and in fact sees them as a political tool to use to his advantage.)
The second and more important goal is to create a way for the international community to blame Ukraine for the continued war. “If you’d just accept the terms, you could save your people and prevent nuclear war.” It’s absolutely classic DARVO tactics that, again, any progressive activist should be familiar with. “Sure, it’s not your fault he attacked you, but you shouldn’t have reported it, made a big deal of it, gotten him ‘cancelled,’ made it public, etc.”
It’s not Ukraine’s responsibility to “prevent nuclear war.” Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for protection—protection that it has not received, although Western aid and military assistance has undoubtedly been helpful. Placing responsibility on Ukraine to accept unjust terms and illegal annexation of its land in order to “prevent nuclear war” only lends credence to the claim that only nuclear weapons can keep a country truly safe—after all, it would mean that Putin’s nuclear threats have allowed him to invade his neighbors, terrorize their citizens, destroy their resources, replace their democratically elected leaders with his own puppets, and steal their land—without even having to make any concessions himself.
So here’s my plea to my American progressive/leftist siblings. Please question what you think you know about Putin, Russia, and Ukraine. There are certainly far-right and neo-Nazi political forces in Ukraine as there are in any country, but Zelenskyy is a progressive, democratically elected JEWISH president. NATO and the EU have their (serious) issues, but they have not pressured or forced any former Soviet states to join—in fact, prior to this war, it seemed unlikely that Ukraine would be admitted. Ukraine WANTED to join to protect itself from Russia, which had already illegally annexed its land, empowered far-right groups within its borders, and forced regime changes in surrounding countries.
Putin is not an anti-imperialist revolutionary; he denounces American imperialism because it’s convenient for him politically and it keeps the American left from putting pressure on our government to divest from Russia. Sure, maybe the Democrats oversold Russian election hacking as an explanation for Trump’s win (although the more I learn about the extent of Russia’s disinfo campaign, the more I question this common leftist talking point), but that doesn’t mean that Putin isn’t bent on conquering Eastern Europe and subduing Western powers by any means necessary. This goes far beyond American electoral politics, and the answers here do not conform to American party lines. Do not fall into the trap of dismissing politicians’ statements about Putin and Russia just because you disagree with the rest of their stances.
Putin is a dictator. Sometimes it really is that simple. A former KGB agent, he came to power by staging the modern Russian version of the Reichstag fire (look up “Russian apartment bombings”), using that as an excuse to start a war and win it, and he has maintained his power through strong-arming and terror. The State Duma is entirely symbolic at this point; anyone who goes against Putin knows that they are likely not only to die, but to die horribly, just like Alexei Navalny almost did not long ago (look up “Novichok” and prepare yourself for some body horror).
I could go on. I won’t right now. But in truth, I deeply regret the fact that I haven’t done more over the past 8 or so years to disrupt the blatant Putinist propaganda I hear from a lot of my fellow progressives. I had other priorities and I didn’t give it the attention I should’ve. To be clear: nothing America or American progressives could’ve done would’ve stopped this war, only delayed it or hastened it. The war was inevitable because Putin wants to conquer Ukraine, and beyond.
So I’ll just say—please, please listen to people who fled Russia/the Soviet Union, and to experts who study Russia. The most likely threat here isn’t a nuclear WWIII; this isn’t about you. The thing people like me fear most is simply that Putin will continue subjugating, terrorizing, and ultimately conquering innocent citizens of sovereign states, and that the West will eventually just accept this as the price of nuclear deterrence.
I’m not a political scientist; I don’t know how to stop this war. All I know is that Ukrainian surrender isn’t it. Listen to Ukrainians, anti-Putin Russians, and other experts, form your own opinion, and most importantly, keep your wits about you. Not everyone in this world is a good faith negotiating partner. Some people are, unfortunately, just evil. Hitler was, Stalin was, Putin is.

VCHK-OGP said the drone fell on the Expocentre building roof in the Moscow-City district, breaking through it. Preliminary information provided by Baza said a collapse occurred in the Expocentre’s 8th pavilion over an area of 30 square metres(..)
P.S. Very good news from the Russian swamp: Russian business supports Putler's policies; those supporters of war crimes must feel a little bit uncomfortable about causing war.
In fact, foreign companies that continue to work in Moscow and finance Russian war crimes would be a very good target...

Sometimes I wonder where Putler draws the line between his interests and people's well being, and he never fails to impress that whatever limit we though he has, he always surpasses that. Exactly like Hitler commanded that millions of books be set on fire so that people can't educate themselves out of nazism's imposed on society views, in the same manner Putin has ordered cartoon movies to be made for russian speaking kids to depict Russia as a victim and Ukraine as the bully, the enemy. Just imagine the impact a cartoon movies had made on ourselves, that even to this day, when I'm 28, I still have nostalgia and I open a Powerpuff Girls video on YouTube, because it reminds me of chill, beautiful childhood times without struggles. That's the memory I grew up with, a cartoon movie that made me happy whenever the girls where wining over their city's enemies. What will the Russian kids grow up with? With a healthy understanding of good and bad? No! They are raised with either fear or a genuine hate towards their neighbors, Ukrainians! A big part of these kids have cousins and friends in Ukraine. How long will it take for these kids to start fearing the idea of meeting their friends and cousins? How long will it take for them to realize Ukrainians are not their enemy? Probably never! He wants to leave a great load of hate behind him as legacy, so that kids hate and be hated like he was everytime he got bullied in childhood for being a shy and quiet Volodya. The more days are passing by and thousands of people die, the more little Volodya's name echoes in the air and Hitler couldn't be more proud of him. Finally someone had the courage to step into his shoes and continue spreading enmity into the world. Good job Volodya for making sure millions of kids will hate and be hated like you are! Some were hoping you'd get older and wise a little bit, but your trauma only has made a you a fool! A sad, grumpy old fool Putin. Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦♥️🇺🇦 #putler #putin #glorytoukraine #standwithukraine https://www.instagram.com/p/Car9FrwNmLW/?utm_medium=tumblr

Tbh I doubt anything will change, VP moved ahead knowing what could happen, they could sanction right away and more and they're not doing that, they're making it look like it's big and they're doing tons, but they're not.
Personally I can only see one realistic way out of this: snuff out Vladdy any way possible.
Sanctions etc. won't work if this thing drags out for weeks/months/years.
Example: today Finland (along with several other countries) closed off our airspace from Russian planes, which of course means commercial flights from Russia to the west will be severely hindered.
But...
Just as now Russian planes can't fly over Finland, Finnish planes also can't fly over Russia.
And how does one fly from the Nordics to Asia?
Tumblr media
OVER RUSSIA.
So basically this means Finnair has to cease flights to Asia, which is a disaster since these have been the one of the few remaining profitable routes for an airline that was already hit hard by Rona.
And with fuel prices being sky high already, taking extensive detours via the Med is not an option, which means...
A likelihood that our national airline will go belly up. 🪦
Also massive conscequences for import/export: as our closest neighbor, we rely heavily on Russians delivering products, as well as them buying ours.
Soon that'll be gone too, which means loss of jobs AND hiked up prices for alternative products.
I feel like this is a side that people keep forgetting in all this hoolabaloo and demands for sanctions.
It's easy for Americans/Brits/Germans/Whoevers to scream and shout that we need to do this and that, when it has very little impact on THEIR lives!
We are in the "front lines" taking the hits for these sanctions a lot harder than most other countries!
This is why imo the only way out of this while still keeping our countries alive is to snuff out the root cause of this shit.
Punishing Russia as a country is not a longterm solution imo.
Directly punishing Putler and his cronies IS the solution.

Nützliche Tipps und Tricks zu WooCommerce
Tumblr media
Also fangen wir schon an !! Recently tuned into a C-SPAN emission an Atlantic Council round table and discovered the same old Cold War belligerence in contemporary, understated terms, of course
Two observations from Wikipedia on The Atlantic Council (emphasis in bold or italics mine)
No. 1, from Wikipedia article, anonymous:
“The Atlantic Council is a right wing think tank of former CIA employees (it is a fact, check the management names–all of them were former CIA employees).  The Atlantic Council is an extreme right wing neocon think tank that definitely does not value peace and cooperation in the world. To the contrary, they are doing their very best to start a major war with Russia in Ukraine. (Victoria Nuland & proto-fascist maneuvers in Ukraine in the name of the US government):

One remembers: Who loses if Ukraine has a civil war? Ukrainians do, that's who. A quick look at the Atlantic Council website reveals an endless array of "Russia is evil" and "Adolf Putler" hate speech and propaganda directed at Russia, most of it lies and misinformation.
Face the facts: this is no "non partisan" think tank: this is a neo-conservative right wing think tank linked to the CIA, major defense corporations, and America's bloated military industrial complex. Its mission seems to be starting war/fomenting war with Russia, Syria, and China.
A Right wing think tank serving American business elites. Definitely not serving the American public in any capacity.” — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a00:1028:8d1c:741e:3d13:cf11:3eb2:574c (talk) 15:21, 8 June 2015‎ (UTC)
No 2, from Wikipedia article, MD Otley:
“That's an interesting theory, but it doesn't bear much relation to reality.  Liberal Barack Obama
(Barack proved a militant neoliberal concerning use of military force)
picked much of his defense and foreign policy team from among members of the council.  In fact, the last THREE chairmen have been Obama appointees either before or after their terms.  The current vice-chair is an investment banker and the president was a journalist; the executive vice-president worked for both the Clinton
(Clinton proved a militant user of military force as a neoliberal [note: neoliberal = those conservatives who are war hawks)
and Bush administrations, as well as NATO.
(Since the fall of the Berlin Wall NATO has ceased to be a post WW2 defense force and become very offensive, aggressing upon Russia’s western border and therefore CONTRIBUTING to Vladimir Putin’s political cachet--NATO scares the average Russian.  Please understand this very relevant fact).
NONE of them show any sign they might have been members of the CIA.  And frankly, even if they ALL were, that would do absolutely nothing to show that they are or were ever "right wing" politically. The CIA is a bureaucracy, and bureaucracies attract bureaucrats, who often (especially in the USA), are on the left wing, politically, because the right wing wants to reduce the size, power, and influence of bureaucracies.
(It matters little that a majority of the bureaucrats in the CIA identify as “Democrat,” the top echelon, those who make the policy decisions, including military engagement, influencing the elections of others, etc. are deep state war hawks working for the military-industrial part of the much harmed US economy).

02:43, 15 November 2015 (UTC) After reading that the Atlantic Council came out in favour of TPP because it is wanted for security (while so far it has only ever been referred to as a trade partnership) I came here and wondered what exactly the Atlantic Council was. an NGO or what precisely. It seems to be an internationally funded think tank/policy organisation, but non-partisan would no longer be true. The TPP   (Trans-Pacific Partnership) is promoted by the current Obama administration as 'we must write the rules or the Chinese will'. If the Atlantic Council were non-partisan, i.e. not taking sides on power issues, they would have stayed out of this.
06:41, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
Conclusion:  The Atlantic Council appeared to be softening a bit.  Though not approving of Vladimir Putin for his sub-criminal class operating in the Russian government, he nevertheless RIGHTLY protects Russia’s NATO threatened western borders.  He knows what most Americans do not understand:  Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and other multibillion dollar companies that trade on the violence of war because it’s good business, love selling their wares to the Baltic countries such as Estonia, Latvia, and others.  Yet, softening in its general tone of working with the Russians which is valid.  Forget not that Russia’s burgeoning democracy is younger than two decades of recent history!  Let us work with Russia and Russians.  With less belligerence from NATO (Europe, US) the Russian people, feeling less threatened, might concentrate on alternatives to the autocratic model thrust upon them.  Kiev-Ukraine is another story.  It must determine to leave the Russophones and Russophiles in the Donbass to determine whether they wish to separate from Russia or remain.  Believe their prejudice is to remain.
