     The town is overwhelmingly alive.
Noise from street musicians and ordinary folk alike covers the cobblestones as thoroughly as the petals beneath his boots do, bright and eagerly shared in the nameless joy of some festivity. He'd arrived in the middle of it all: while old bells were still pealing and the circle of dancers in the town square was near bursting — foreigner in how little he knew, but content to observe from afar. It's in that distance that the child tucks himself away, counting on the roar of the crowd and celebrations to deepen the shadows over an overlooked bench.
What he believed was an overlooked bench, anyway.
Link receives a flower crown of daisies. A gift from this anon.
The present falls against his fingers, feather-light and out of nowhere. Heart leaping and hand jerking away from the touch, he turns from the dancers he'd been watching with wide eyes, just fast enough to catch a retreating back. Laughter lingers in his ears — maybe the stranger's, maybe someone else's, but it's as cheery as everything else here and helps set his pulse at ease again.
A pulse that stills altogether when he looks down, world tunnelling to strung greens and whites and yellows and a single, dazed thought.
     Oh.
He lifts the garland with both hands. Something creeps up from his chest to his throat, thorns of warmth that crawl further and further until they've reached the tips of his ears. This— it's what the kids and some of the grownups are wearing around here, crowns fashioned from pretty flowers and long grasses like spring's bloomed right on their heads. Link isn't— Link isn't one of them, and yet...yet...
It fits. Not perfectly, not like how the hat he carefully takes off does, but it fits. As he looks to a shifting sea of people and hums along to the new song that starts from somewhere in that throng, he thinks he might be smiling.
With this ache in his cheeks, and the bigger one tightening around his heart, he must be.

Send me 👤+ a character name for my muse’s opinion on that character.
( accepting )
@zhonde said:  tell me what akira thinks of hubert.
Tumblr media
“He’s extremely loyal, just like Dedue in some sense. They can’t be persuaded like Hilda can and completely abandon Claude. Then again, Hilda isn’t Mr. Crafty’s retainer or anything, so there is no real connection like the other two that are by Edelgard’s and Dimitri’s side respectfully. His devotion is admirable that’s for sure but other than that, I really don’t understand him or his reasons for aiding both Edgelgard and those who slither in the dark. Or killing his father. I’m sure he had his reasons but Hubert is so unreadable at times, like Claude is, it’s really frustrating. Then again, not everyone voices their opinion like blunt Felix does, myself included.”
‘Sorry Felix but you are being thrown under the bus for this’. “I guess I can call myself his rival in dark magic only. I haven’t seen anyone else pick up the mantle when changing battle classes, as those seals are very hard to come by normally. Really though, Edelgard doesn’t deserve him frankly and I can’t be the only one who feels that way. What a waste since he and I will NEVER be on the same side of the war, no matter what path I take from here on out”. ‘Also, his voice reminds me of someone, a guy that prefers delicious pancakes perhaps? In a past life or a world where Fodlan doesn’t exist. Hmmm. How strange’.

Robin has a disease. It's a slow thing, though. She's had it for years. She can handle it. Sure, sometimes she coughs bloody petals, and sometimes she struggles for breathe, but for the most part she's handing it fine. Sometimes she can go for weeks or months without any symptoms. In fact, she's so good at handling it that no one has realizes she's sick in the three years she's had this illness.
And you may wonder, how does she do it? How does she live for years with this sickness inside of her as if it were nothing? Well, it's easy. She distances herself from the object of her affections until she forgets she exists. There's the black dog problem, or course - if I tell you not to think of a black dog, you will inevitably think of a black dog. But I may instead try to distract you with a white cat, or anything that isn't a black dog. For Robin, a girl with many interests, it wasn't difficult. Often a good novel or an old dictionary could hijack her attention for a long time, or even a different girl. Tammy Thompson was helpful in that regard. Vickie, too. The key was to trick your brain into forgetting you were in love in the first place. Many people died because they dwelled in their longing, but Robin refused to do that. She wanted to live. She wanted to be free. Sometimes, that meant leaving behind a part of herself, even if that part were her emotions.
But then the girl needs her help at the library, and then at the asylum (she dressed her in her soft pink clothes and even though her skin itched her lungs itched worse when her hands combed through her hair and she leaned a little to the side to look at her in the mirror and smile). Suddenly, she knew who Robin was and she wanted her by her side like king and lionheart.
It became too much too quickly, after years of repressing the symptoms. One moment when no one was looking, Robin fell to her knees, grabbing at her bloody throat as she coughed out full flowers, hating herself and cursing the moment that, as a teenager and from afar, she fell in love with Nancy Wheeler.

Cap-IM Rec Week Day 3
It’s All About AUs  today!!! AU’s are my favorite, when talented authors take my favs and put them in a completely different situation and world and still makes them recognizable. Whittling it down for today’s rec list for @cap-ironman was especially difficult, but here are five of my favorite kinds of AUs.
(By Any Other) Name by Captain_Panda
When Steve went down with the Valkyrie, he thought his days with dragons were over.
Then he meets Tony Stark, who inherited Howard Stark's dragon.
As the kids say: "It's complicated."
This Dragon!AU series is my favorite dragon AU. The world building is excellent, as is the relationship developed between Steve and Tony. I think I’ve read it a half dozen times and already look forward to the next reread.
Knight of Wands by Sineala
Steve has reigned as king for ten years, and in a few days peace will finally come to his kingdom. Representatives of the Kree Empire are soon to arrive for the negotiations that will end the war between them once and for all. Steve is looking forward to settling down, with his hand-picked Avengers at his side -- led, of course, by the masked knight Iron Man -- and also his trusted advisors, the most beloved of whom is Tony, his court magician, the most powerful mage in all the land.
But when Steve's life is endangered, Tony makes the greatest sacrifice of all to protect his king, a sacrifice far greater than his life. And when Tony disappears under mysterious circumstances, Steve learns that even his closest friends keep secrets that he could never have suspected.
I have a soft spot a mile wide for King/Lionheart stories, especially when Steve is the king and Tony is advisor/wizard/knight. It’s just a perfect dynamic, and as always, Sine is flawless at telling a story.
I Whisper Your Name on Each Star I See Falling by JezebelGoldstone, littleblackbow
The day Natasha first told Steve her idea, he never would have dreamed that her fool notion would land him here: watching the train roll into the station and trying to wrap his mind around the fact that somewhere in there is the man who agreed to marry him.
Steve, an alpha farmer living outside a small town in the Rockies who doesn't want to admit how lonely he is, has been exchanging letters with omega Tony for nearly a year. When at last Tony arrives in Big Eden, Steve is confronted with the fact that he doesn't know Tony as well as he thought he did - and falls for him harder than a landslide anyway.
This one is hard--arranged marriage au’s are near and dear to my heart, and picking just one was near impossible. But how soft Steve is with Tony in this one breaks me every time I read it, so--here you are.
Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree by Annie D (scaramouche)
Steve doesn’t mind that Tony doesn’t return his feelings. He just would've preferred if it didn’t come with the side effect of his coughing up flowers and possibly dying.
I struggled between hanahaki or soulmate AUs, and decided on this because I’d put soulmates in an earlier list this week. Hanahaki is both beautiful and heartbreaking, just the way I like my fic. This one is amazing.
ad astra by Areiton
The first time he kissed Tony Stark, the stars danced overhead.
Ok, I might be cheating a little by including my own AU here, but. I really love this one? It’s a space AU which I always love, and plays with the movie from 2019. Anyway, it remains one of my favorite pieces of writing.

figured i should make a slightly more organised introduction post for my new fic…
Lionheart Tattoos and other such fine establishments
chapter 1/6, 9.4k so far, very slay
“Our parents would be so proud,” Regulus drawled and Bellatrix grinned at him, because they would absolutely hate that she was using the skills they’d drilled into her for a party celebrating the opening of a tattoo parlour - it was far too plebeian.
“Mother would’ve had a fit if she saw how cheap the prosecco we served was,” Narcissa laughed, because it had been the most expensive one in Tesco’s but definitely not up to the Black family’s standards.
“She would’ve had a fit if she saw how close you were standing to Alice,” Bellatrix added.
Narcissa narrowed her eyes, “She would’ve had a fit if she saw the way you looked at that florist - Rita, was it?”
“Ugh, yeah,” Regulus chimed in, “it was practically indecent, Trix!”
Bellatrix’s grin turned wolfish, never one to be ashamed in front of her sister or cousin or anyone at all really, “God, did you see her though? I wanted to do so many indecent things to her”
basically just a fun little (but actually not that little (for me) bc there’ll be SIX(!!!) chapters eventually) tattoo parlour/flower shop muggle au with quillkiller and nobleflower and like the vast majority of the marauders era characters knocking about
anyway, this one is like a BIG deal for me, it’s gonna be my longest fic yet and it’s also my TENTH fic which is wild to me and also i feel like a bit of a milestone so… enjoy xoxox

Merthur Fic Masterlist (Updating)
These are some of my favourite Merlin fics so far. A lot of these will contain spoilers for the show. They are listed in no particular order. I have also cropped some of the summaries to save people the scrolling time.
Formatting is as follows: [Title] by [Author] | Completion Status | Word Count (to the nearest thousand), Chapters or Parts (if series) | Rating | Warnings (if applicable) | Key Info/Themes | Summary (I did not write most of them)
Updates since first posted: 1
Under 10k:
The Tulip Thief by Polomonkey | Complete | 3.2k, 1 chapter | General Audiences | Modern setting, fluff, pre-slash, misunderstandings, hand-holding | 'Sometimes I steal flowers from your garden on my way to the cemetery, but today you’ve caught me and have demanded to come with me to make sure the “girl is pretty enough to warrant flower theft” and I’m trying to figure out how to break it to you that we’re on our way to a graveyard'
10-20k:
to go with grace by andiwriteordie | Complete | 17k, 1 chapter | Teen & Up | Post-canon, character redemption, Morgana POV, angst, introspective, forgiveness | Morgana Pendragon is dead, at Emrys’s hand. Just as the prophecies had foretold. But before she can enter Avalon and find peace, she must first pay penance for all the sins she committed in her life. Her penance is quite simple: look after and heal Arthur Pendragon, the Once and Future King, until the time comes for his return to the land of the living.
The Sorcerer and the Lionheart by just_a_wavefunction | Complete | 16k, 1 chapter | Teen & Up | Post-canon, historical references, friendship, Immortal Leon | Merlin spends fifteen hundred years waiting for Arthur's return. Luckily, he doesn't have to wait alone.
Hear Your Heart Sing (Love, Love, Love) by schweet_heart | Complete | 15k, 8 chapters | Mature | Soulmates AU, fluff, humor, angst, office romance | Merlin used to like the idea of finding The One – until he fell in love with Arthur Pendragon. Now he has a boss he can't date (but can't stop thinking about), a soulmate he can't find (who has terrible taste in music), and a best friend who can't believe he still hasn't got his act together (even though it's seriously not his fault).
From This Day On by lady_ragnell | Complete | 19k, 1 chapter | Teen & Up | modern setting, canon era (it'll make sense), mystery-solving? (idk how to describe it) | While on a hike, Merlin and Gwaine stumble upon the Lost City of Camelot, cursed to wake up every morning a century in the future, and Merlin decides it's his duty to break the spell--with help from a prince, an imprisoned seer, and quite a few others. A Brigadoon AU.
A Metaphor of Human Bloody Existence by lady_ragnell | Complete | 19k, 1 chapter | Teen & Up | Modern with magic, humour, crack treated seriously, destiny | In which Merlin and Arthur (and others) band together to fight evil on the advice of a can of peas.
21-50k:
and with my opened mouth i join the singing light by intothefirewego | Complete | 33k, 6 chapters | Mature | Graphic descriptions of blood | Heavy angst, major character injury, emotional hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending, magic reveal | Merlin frowned, and tried to inhale, but choked on a cough. He opened his mouth, trying to speak but his mouth was sticky and full and he felt warm, warm, warm, warm spilling down down down down… The world tilted on its axis a little bit, and Merlin leant into Arthur’s body. Why was the world tilting? Arthur’s face shifted from annoyance to horror.
Destiny That Darkly Hides Us by Nympha_Alba | Complete | 40k, 7 chapters | Explicit | Angst, WWI, Edwardian era, college AU | It's 1913, the practice of homosexuality is unlawful, so is the practice of magic. When Arthur Pendragon and Merlin Emrys meet as Cambridge undergrads, they're both hungry for a real and true connection without secrets. For a short time they believe they may have found it. But war breaks out and separates them, and it seems unlikely that they will meet again. After all, what are the odds?
A.S.S. (Agents of Secret Stuff) series by supercalvin | 39k, 8 parts | Mostly Teen & Up | Mostly none, one fic is marked with Graphic Depictions Of Violence | Spy AU, modern setting, humor, crack treated seriously, BAMF characters | Merlin & Arthur are an unstoppable spy duo. Basically merthur + the knights and other characters do whacky spy shit
51-100k:
Singing Trees by aescrof | Complete | 65k, 11 chapters | Teen & Up | Canon era, different first meeting, magic reveal, fluff, angst | Arthur knew about the magic from the start.
Tributes by TheAvalonian | Complete | 88k, 10 Chapters | Mature | Graphic Depictions of Violence | Hunger Games AU, angst, enemies to friends to lovers, emotional hurt/comfort | It is the 57th annual Hunger Games, and Merlin Emrys stands at the Reaping ceremony with his best friend Guinevere Smith at his side. In a twisted game where death seems the only certainty, Merlin will find himself tested in ways no one could have ever predicted - and may even find himself fighting for more than just his own life as he enters into an unlikely alliance with Arthur Pendragon, the Career tribute poised to win it all.
Over 100k:
To Bare Our Teeth and Our Hearts by queerofthedagger | Complete | 124k, 14 chapters | Mature | Graphic Depictions Of Violence | An execution was not exactly on Merlin's bucket list, wasn't even what destiny had intended for him. Arthur, for his part, really wants to catch a break, and to stop thinking about his late manservant. Or sometimes, things have to go downhill first before they get better, and if Uther had known about the eventual outcome, he might've changed his mind for once in his life.
What I'd Have Done by Flight_of_Fantasy | Complete | 119k, 14 chapters | General Audiences | Canon era, magic reveal, heavy angst, gen or pre-slash, Arthur-centric, character study | For better or for worse, Arthur knows Merlin's secret. The problem? Merlin doesn't know Arthur knows. This leaves Arthur with a predicament… and an opportunity. A test. Three trials and three opportunities for Merlin to prove he doesn't deserve death. Arthur hopes he will pass them. Maybe then the image of Merlin's golden eyes will stop haunting him.
The Heart's Search by rotrude | Complete | 115k, 2 chapters | Explicit | Some violence | Romance, AU - dystopia, modern setting | For thirty-five girls/boys, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Arthur. But for Merlin Emrys, being Selected is a nightmare. Leaving his home to enter a fierce competition for a crown he doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
The Great Merlin Bake Off by Elizabeth | Complete | 102k, 10 chapters | Mature | Modern setting, fluff, pining, schmoop | Because someone said, "What if it's Merlin, but they're on Bake Off?" AKA: The GBBO AU. It was bound to happen at some point.
Some bonus non-merthur Merlin fics:
Everyday Destiny (ffn, ao3) by Searchingforangels (ffn) or DancingInTheStorm (ao3) | Complete (only on ffn) | 53k, 200 chapters | General Audiences | Drabble collection, golden age AU, exploration of themes, non-linear narrative | Great destinies swing of small hinges; a collection of small moments that shape Albion. A pre- and post-reveal drabble collection.

The BG3 Match-ups is such a cool idea! :D I'll absolutely give it a try.
My Tav is a human berserker barbarian by the name of Lionheart. An absolute unit of a man - the size of a small house as far as most are concerned. Moustached and bearded, with a blonde mane of locks that cascade down his shoulders and arms that look like they could embrace the whole world. And knowing his demeanor they probably do.
He's the definition of a gentle giant. If only you replaced "gentle" with "nonchalantly flamboyant" or "gregarious to such a degree, looking at his face feels like looking into the sun." With his age came a certain wisdom - he is straightforward, open and effortlessly charming. Expect loud, booming laughter, expect bear hugs, expect flowery words of sage advice. All his movements are big swooping motions unafraid of taking up space - he walks like he always knows where he's going, speaks as though his words are to be etched in stone. Whether it's this sense of safety he exudes or his unflinching friendliness, it really helps in dealing with all those other skittish feral cats of characters.
He used to be a village head before the tadpole. Though he does his best not to show it, he feels a tremendous amount of guilt for having to leave it behind. That might be his biggest flaw - in trying to position himself as this solid bedrock for people to rely on, he will actively hide his injuries, both physical and emotional. Something that he'd firmly advise others against doing.
He will use his skills to manage the camp, plan, cook, be a mighty pat on the back or a listening ear if so asked.
But that's where his sunny disposition stops and his barbarian class begins - he will charge and slaughter an enemy without a second thought, the moment they establish themselves as a danger. There's no ego to it, no ideological hestitations. If he can't defend his people back at the village, he will fearlessly do so for the ones he has found. Be it virtue or penance, it's moments like these, with roars and grunts and blood splattering around, that his name begins to make perfect sense.
Privately he's a fan of novels, poetry, music. No need for prestige, he values the simple things in life. Still, he does grow to deeply miss the songs and campfire dances thrown during various celebrations in his village. Maybe once he returns he'll get to see them again.
A/N: Oh my gosh, the entire time I was reading I was picturing a Thor-looking guy wearing a flower crown in his hair- somebody both large and strong but also soft and beautiful! @metkapop Your Tav sounds amazing! As for a matchup for you… I think Lionheart would best be matched with Astarion (Male) or Karlach (Female)!
Tumblr media
Astarion would be a great match for Lionheart! Even though they may not look super compatible on paper, I think Astarion would really for him. Because of Lionheart’s stature and demeanor, Astarion would feel loved and protected. And in return, he’d be a very loyal, very cunning partner for Lionheart to have.
Astarion may have been intimidated by Lionheart initially, as he’s more of a scrappy guy, not a fighter. But as Astarion comes to know Lionheart, and understands that he is, as you say, really a ‘gentle giant’, I think Astarion would let his guard down. He probably ends up feeling protected as well, with all that muscle shielding him in fights. Also, thanks to how open and affectionate Lionheart is, Astarion probably finds himself opening up to the idea of receiving affection and attention again, having been denied it for so long. Astarion is sort of like a skittish cat, or an abused dog that's been kicked one too many times- so the fact that Lionheart can ease such creatures helps foster their relationship immensely.
Astarion loves Lionheart’s appearance. Mainly because it’ll make anyone think twice about messing with them, but also because Astarion thinks Lionheart’s long golden hair is gorgeous- like sunshine in braid form. He’s a little on the fence about the mustache, just because it tickles a bit at first when they kiss, but Astarion comes to love it just as well as he loves the rest of Lionheart.
Astarion also feels a fair share of guilt- for all, he’s been forced to do under Cazador. He has so many regrets and often blames himself for all that’s befallen him and his victims. He doesn't like to talk about it, and he does have a self-deprecating streak but that’s where Lionheart comes in. Together they can confide in each other, about how they feel responsible- and they can reassure one another, that the things that happened outside of their control are not their fault. Their consciousnesses may be heavy, but the two of them carrying that weight together helps lighten the load.
Astarion’s a huge fan of the fact that Lionheart is skilled in many areas, as he’s been forced to sort of only work on the charm or manipulation aspect of things. The fact Lionheart is so good at planning managing and leading puts Astarion at ease. He feels less of an inclination to have to make up for a lack of skills with Lionheart being able to take the reigns on most things. Of course, Astarion prefers Lionheart leave any lockpicking or lying up to him, as he is the expert in those things.
Astarion quite admires Lionheart’s skill on the battlefield. Again, he feels protected, and for once, he can rest easy at night knowing his lover won’t let anyone hurt him ever again.
Astarion quite likes the idea of retiring to Lionheart’s village after all of this is said and done. Of course, he’d need a couple of things- preferably a large house or manor to call theirs, and an easy lifestyle, he’s not going to go work on the farms or raise chickens or anything of that sort. But the idea of living in a community where everyone is healthy and… well, happy, yes that sounds good to him. And being the partner of the village chief, well, that would just come as a bonus. ;)

Karlach is also a great match for Lionheart! They are both strong and loud and very much, ‘wear-thier-heart-on-thier-sleeves’ sort of people. They’re practically two peas in a pod!
Karlach thinks Lionheart is handsome as hell, especially with how he can match her in a battle of strengths, but of one of happiness as well. Being joyful is something she finds extremely attractive, and Lionheart is certainly adept at that.
She loves how she doesn't have to dial it down, or make herself smaller to be with him, that he loves her boisterous and hot personality. She’s so grateful to have found someone who doesn’t expect her to simmer down, or remove parts of herself in order to be with them. Lionheart loves her as is, for who she is, her past and infernal engine and all, and it makes her stomach flutter just thinking about it.
Because Karlach is also a tank, she’s used to hiding her injuries or doubts from her soldiers and fellow fighters, but Lionheart sees right through that facade. He tells her it's okay to slow down and insists on bandaging her up whenever she gets hurt. He asks that she do the same for him, that way, they’ll hold each other accountable in that regard.
Additionally, Karlach is captivated by the way Lionheart fights. It’s so brutal and primal, it gets her hot under the collar. I mean, the way he charges his enemies, the way he tries so fiercely to protect the camp, even her, despite her being a barbarian as well- it makes her head spin. She thinks he’s beyond incredible, and she can’t believe she’s so lucky as to have gotten him for a lover.
And oh boy, Karlach cannot wait when all of this is over, when the Brain is defeated and their parasites and cured, and she’s free of her infernal engine, when she can go back to his village with him. She’d love getting to dance around the campfire, hells, she loves getting to dance pretty much anywhere, but it’s especially fun to do it with the one she loves the most.
Karlach thinks a nice peaceful retirement is something she’d grow quite accustomed to. Maybe have kids of their own, or adopt some. She spends her free time dreaming of the future she and Lionheart will have together. She can’t wait for that dream to become her reality.

Forest of Secrets - Chapter 7
Chapter 6 || Index || Chapter 8
WARNING: This chapter contains animal husbandry from the perspective of animals. There will be themes of: dubious consent, pregnancy, abortion, and implied animal abuse.
If you do not want to read any of the above, the chapter summary below describes all the important plot beats going forward. If you do wish to read the chapter, see below the cut. Chapter summary for those who wish to skip: Fireheart visits with Princess and learns that she is carrying kits. Seeking to help her, he brings Yellowfang and Dewpaw to speak with his sister under Tigerclaw's nose. They bring back some catmint to use for any leafbare greencough, and Fireheart learns about the greencough epidemic the leafbare before he joined, in which many older warriors and elders died, including Peppermask's grandmother Swiftbreeze.
The days grew colder and colder as the last of the leaves dropped from their trees onto the forest below. Fireheart shivered as he passed between the barren bushes, his long puffed fur not keeping him warm enough in the cold leafbare morning. He had told Tigerclaw he was off hunting near Tallpines, hoping that the location far from camp would yield more prey. While he would, eventually, the truth was a little different.
“Princess!” He called over the fence, trying to keep his voice light even as his body shook from the cold. It was about this season that he had first been taken from the nursery to his new Twoleg home, and something about it made him long for his sister’s comfort more than ever. He wouldn’t dare tell anyone in the Clan that, of course, as they would surely make fun of him for having such kittypet weakness, but he knew his sister would understand.
Cold silence filled the air around him as he stood there, waiting for her to appear. Perhaps she was in her Twoleg nest, curled up beside her Twoleg for warmth. They had plush beds that kept heat long after the body that had warmed it was gone, and burning fires that they kept in little stone dens to warm their nests. Very few kittypets would be willing to brave the cold when they had all of that at their paws, and he couldn’t say he blamed them.
Still, he thought - he hoped - that his sister would come out, at least for a little while, to talk to him. “Princess?” He called again, unable to keep the apprehension from creeping into his voice. She took longer before, when he had come to the wrong garden, but he was certain he had the right one this time. And yet, as he stood there and shivered patiently, there was still no response.
Maybe she just hadn’t heard him? He hesitated, not sure if he should call for her louder. He didn’t want even the cats in Riverclan camp to hear him crying for a kittypet, though, and part of him worried what might happen if a Twoleg heard his yowl. Maybe he could enter her garden, just this once?
Still, as he bunched up his legs for the jump, part of him held back. He recalled Lionheart’s dire warning when Bluestar had first extended the offer for him to join Thunderclan;  “If you did become a Clan cat, you would never return to your Twolegplace. If you did, then you would be exiled.” Just the mere threat was enough to make him shiver, not from the cold, but from fear.
He shook his head. They had meant that he couldn’t return to being a kittypet. And he wasn’t going to! He would only talk to his sister, nothing more. He wouldn’t even go in the Twoleg’s nest. It would be fine.
His mind made up, he jumped to the top of the fence in one easy bound. He hesitated at the top, looking down into his sister’s garden. It was filled with flowers, much like his own garden had been, although they were dying off now that the frost had come. In the center was a circular stone floor; a ‘patio’, they had called it; with spindly chairs and a table on top of it. His own Twolegs had had a similar setup, though they had rarely used it.
He still didn’t see Princess as he scanned the flowers. Where had she gone? His heart quickened as he imagined her entering the forest searching for him. But surely that would have been news amongst Thunderclan? Unless she-
A flash of motion from the Twoleg nest caught his attention, and he was about to leap back the way he had come when he realized it was Princess emerging from the cat flap. “Princess!” He mewed happily from where he sat on the fence. “Why didn’t you say something? You had me worried!”
“I’m sorry, Fireheart.” Her voice was even softer than he remembered it, and he frowned as he looked down at her. Her tawny pelt, normally silky and smooth, looked as though it hadn’t been groomed in several days. Her tail was low, brushing against the ground, and even her emerald eyes seemed to have lost their spark as she looked up at him. “I… I suppose I must not have heard you the first time.”
“What’s wrong?” He asked with a frown. “Is it because I almost entered your garden? I’m sorry. I can stay outside, if you prefer.”
She hesitated, then slowly shook her head. “No, it’s not you. I’m sorry, Fireheart, I just…” Her voice trailed off as she slowly looked down to her slightly dirty white paws.
He glanced around, looking for any sign that someone might spot him, but the forest and Twolegplace were both still and quiet. Gathering himself, he leaped down into her garden, fur prickling in worry as he pressed into her side. “What’s wrong? You look-” He cut himself off. Life in the Clan had quickly taught him that making comments on a molly’s appearance was a bad idea. “Are you sick? Did something happen? If any cat attacked you, I’ll-”
“No, Fireheart. I haven’t been attacked.” He blinked gently at her as she interrupted him. She looked briefly up into his eyes, before squeezing them shut and turning away. “Fireheart, I- I think I’m going to have kits.”
“Huh?” He stared at her in confusion. He knew what that meant; after all, Goldenflower had carried Frostfur’s kits, back when he was an apprentice. But they had been mates, and they were both queens, and that was normal for them. There had been talk of Whitestorm and Lionheart having kits come newleaf, thanks to the Clan’s queens. But they too were mates that cared deeply for each other. “You’ve never even told me you had a mate!”
“I don’t.” She was on the verge of tears as she looked back down at her paws. “I don’t- I don’t know if I even want kits, Fireheart!”
He stared at her, his mind racing. None of that made any sense. And yet, he knew that he loved his sister, the only family he had, and that whatever else happened, it was his responsibility to help her. “Tell me what happened.” He mewed at last, padding over to sit beside her and beginning to gently lick at her forehead.
“Oh, Fireheart. I don’t know what to do. I’m all confused inside.” She cried, tears dripping down her cheeks even as her eyes were screwed shut. “I- I trusted them. My housefolk, they’ve always been so good to me, but now… I don’t know. I don’t know!”
He didn’t answer for several moments as he lapped at one of her ears. “Why don’t you start from the beginning?” He finally suggested to her.
She hesitated, then nodded softly, letting out a small hiccup as she did. “It all started about a moon ago. My housefolk, they took me to the vet. It was this big, strange smelling place with all white floors and walls. Another housefolk, they came in and felt me all over and poked me a few times with strange claws. It was weird, but it seemed like it made my housefolk happy, so I just smiled and purred.”
He stopped washing her for a moment as something in what she said tugged at the back of his mind. “We’ve been to the vet before, haven’t we? When we were young kits.” He mewed softly. “Our mother’s housefolk, they put us all in a big hard box with a little door. They poked us with those big claws then, too.”
“They did!” She seemed surprised at the mention of it, then gave him a weak purr. “Do you remember how our littlest brother howled when they first poked him?”
“Do I ever! You would’ve thought they were killing him.” Fireheart shook his head bemusedly at the memory. “That was just before we went to our new housefolk, wasn’t it?”
“It was.” She was suddenly somber again, and he gently lapped at her cheek twice before moving on to groom her neck. “My housefolk took me in one of those boxes to the vet last moon as well. It wasn’t… it wasn’t fun, but they seemed pleased with themselves, so I just let them do it.” She flicked her ear sadly. “But then, a few days ago, they put me in that box again and carried me back out to the Monster.”
“Again?” He mewed in surprise. The box, as he recalled, had been a very rare occurrence when he had lived as a kittypet. “Why would they take you back to the vet?”
“That’s what I thought, at first.” She replied, her voice tinged with regret. “But they took me somewhere else, instead. They put me in a nice room, with furniture and scratching posts and lots of food and water. And… and there was a tom.” She choked up for a moment. “His name was Oliver.”
Fireheart flicked an ear to show he had heard, but said nothing yet. “He asked me if I knew where I was, and I told him I didn’t. He told me that was normal, and he’d tell me everything.” Tears started flowing from her eyes, staining her tawny fur a dark brown. “He told- He said that he was what housefolk called a ‘stud’, and that other housefolk brought him their cats so they could have his kits. I asked him why, and he said he didn’t know, but that the housefolk got very angry at him if he didn’t do his job, so…”
The ginger warrior struggled to understand what she was saying. “So the housefolk make him father all these kits? But why?”
“Yes- no- maybe? I don’t know.” She struggled to find the right words. The young tom pressed closer into his sister’s side and began lapping at her fur faster. “He said that the housefolk would get really excited when the queens had kits, and they’d take good care of them before giving them to other housefolk. Sometimes the same queens would come back, and that’s how he knew, but not all the time. Sometimes, he thinks they would then go to different ‘studs’ instead.”
Her whole body was shaking now, though her fur still held the warmth of the Twoleg nest. “He was so nice, and my housefolk were so gentle when they came back for me, but I hated it. I hated it!” She howled it out into the cold, still air, icy tendrils curling around her mouth as she did so. “Do you think this is going to be the rest of my life, Fireheart? Having kits to make the housefolk happy?”
He didn’t know how to answer that. In the Clans, kits always seemed to be a joyous occasion. They were new life, and they would eventually become new warriors that served the Clan. That was a good thing. But the queens did so happily, and they never seemed to harbor doubts about their role in Clan life, not like his sister was.
“Do you think that the same thing happened to our mother?” Princess asked softly as she stared out at the flowers in her garden. “Do you think she’s had another litter by now?”
“I- I don’t know.” Fireheart meowed at last. “She seemed happy around us. She seemed to love us.”
“She seemed to, though.” The light brown molly’s body was wracked by another sobbing fit. “What if she didn’t? What if she only did it because she thought she had to?”
Had their mother been happy? He wished he could go fetch her, or one of the queens, to talk about it with her. But if he did, then the whole Clan would surely know that he had been talking to a kittypet. What cat in the Clan could he trust to keep such a secret? As he thought about it, he realized he might have an answer to that question.
“Princess, I won’t leave if you don’t want me to, but I think I know a cat that might be able to help you.” He mewed softly. “She- she takes care of all the queens in our Clan. She’s seen a lot in her long life. Maybe she knows of something that can help you.”
His sister was silent for a long time. Just as he thought she might not have heard him, she shifted away slightly. “Help me how?” She asked distrustfully.
“I- I mean, like I said, she takes care of all the queens in our Clan, and the kits when they get sick. She probably knows a lot more about being a queen than I do.” He thought back through all the interactions he’d had with Yellowfang. “And she treats them with herbs, too, to help them with their kits. Maybe… maybe she knows something about preventing queens from having kits, as well?” He didn’t know if such a thing existed, or if queens would even have use for such a thing. He didn’t know a lot, as he was very quickly realizing.
They sat in tense silence for a long moment. “If you think she’ll help.” Princess finally agreed with a small dip of her head, beginning to lap at her chest fur, though he could tell her heart wasn’t in it.
“I- I hope she will.” He didn’t know for sure, but he had to have hope. “I’ll be right back, regardless of whether she agrees to come or not. Okay?” As his sister flicked her tail farewell, he turned and bounded back out of the garden.
He encountered no cat within the forest: all were busy on other patrols. He raced through the forest, not daring to stop for anything. Luckily, nothing disturbed him.
At least, not until he dashed through the bramble entrance into camp. “Where are you going?” He flinched as he heard Tigerclaw’s familiar growl from near the leader’s den, and turned to see the dark tabby watching him. “I thought you were out hunting.”
“I was!” He panted, winded from running back so quickly. “But- I saw a flower- still growing- saw Yellowfang- use it once-”
The deputy’s lip curled in a grimace. “And that’s enough for you to come back to camp without any prey?” He snarled down at the young warrior. “The Clan needs food, not herbs.”
“I know, but I-” He noticed Dewpaw slip out from the healer’s den. “Dewpaw!” He called quickly. The small tabby molly perked up at the call, and scanned the clearing to notice him and Tigerclaw. She padded over with a polite smile to the both of them. “Can you convince Tigerclaw for me? I saw a rare flower in the forest, one that I think Yellowfang needs.”
She looked a bit confused at his statement, but her ears perked forward nonetheless. “What did this rare flower look like?” She asked him quickly.
He hesitated. Was she calling his bluff? “It- it was golden. Like the sun. But it had orange flecks too!” He stared at her, pleading with her to understand the hint. It was exactly the same way that he had described Redtail’s eyes to her, as proof that he wasn’t lying about seeing the former deputy’s spirit.
Her eyes widened, and she nodded quickly. “Oh yes! That sounds like the firefern. It only blooms for a few days, after the first frost, but we can use it to cure suncough. Yellowfang will want you to show her where immediately!” She turned to Tigerclaw, a scowl quickly coming to her face. “As for you! Why would you detain a warrior that is only trying to help his Clan thrive? Just because you’re deputy now doesn’t mean you can interfere with healer affairs!” She flicked her tail for Fireheart to leave, clearly prepared to square up to the deputy for him.
He gratefully scuttled away, leaving the two to bicker behind him as he sped into Yellowfang’s den. The grizzled molly was pawing through the herbs, mumbling to herself about stocks and supplies. “Yellowfang!” He whispered urgently. “I need your help, but I also need you to keep it a secret from the Clan. Can I trust you to do that?”
The healer paused, and for a few heartbeats he wondered if she was thinking about yowling for someone to help. Instead, she turned to face him. “I’ve kept Redtail a secret, haven’t I?” She replied in her usual bitter growl. “What is so important that you would need my help, of all things?”
“I-” He hesitated, trying to figure out where to start. “I’ve been meeting with my sister. She’s a kittypet, in the Twolegplace.” Yellowfang’s ear flicked, but she didn’t seem very surprised by the admission. “She thinks she’s going to have kits, but she’s not sure if she wants them, either. It- it’s complicated. I think she can explain better than I can.”
The old molly regarded him with a stern copper gaze. “You want me to use my limited stores to treat a kittypet?” She asked him slowly, a fiery spark in her eye.
“I- maybe? If she needs it. Look, I just- I want you to talk to her, at least. She needs someone that isn’t a mousebrain to help her, and I just can’t do it alone.” He pleaded with her, hoping that she would agree rather than reveal to the Clan what he had been doing the past few moons.
She stared at him a little longer. “I’ll talk to her. But only if Dewpaw can come along.” As Fireheart bristled, opening his mouth to reply, she shushed him with a flick of her tail. “These are rare healer secrets you’re asking me to use, and as my apprentice she should be there to learn them. You know as well as I do that Dewpaw will never reveal your secret to the Clan either.”
He hesitated. He hadn’t told Princess that he would be bringing back two cats. Yet, he couldn’t deny Yellowfang’s request either. “Alright.” He admitted with a sigh. “Just- be gentle with my sister, won’t you? She’s very confused right now, and scared, and I don’t want her to be hurt more.”
Yellowfang chuffed in amusement. “I’ll treat her however I very well please, thank you. Now, then; the Twolegplace, you said?” She asked, beginning to push past him.
“Yes. I’ll show you the way.” As she moved towards the entrance, he remembered Tigerclaw and Dewpaw were still likely arguing in the clearing. “Wait! Before you go out there, I, uhm, lied to Tigerclaw to come see you. I told him I had seen a rare flower while out hunting, and Dewpaw said it was a ‘firefern’, which treats suncough, or something.”
The old healer snorted. “At least she’s better at improvising than you are.” With that, Fireheart followed her out of the den and towards where the deputy and apprentice were still bickering. “Dewpaw! Come on! That firefern isn’t going to last very long in this frost!”
The two turned to look at Yellowfang storming her way across camp, the ginger warrior on her tail. “Right away, Yellowfang!” She chirped, trotting beside Fireheart as they headed for the bramble entrance. He could hear Tigerclaw yowl something at them as they exited, but he didn’t want to put the energy or thought into puzzling out what the deputy was saying.
His heart raced faster than his paws as he led the two healers to his sister, filling Dewpaw in on the way. He was risking a lot, and he knew that, but he also knew that he would do anything in his power to help her, and this was hopefully one such thing.
It seemed impossibly long before he saw the treeline, and beyond that the fence of his sister’s garden. He slowed to a halt at the edge of the trees. “Wait here until I call for you. She’s scared, and I don’t think she’ll react well to two strangers appearing in her garden without warning, even if I’m with you.”
Yellowfang nodded and sat down, muttering something to Dewpaw he didn’t catch as he bounded out to the Twoleg fence. He leaped over to find her sitting in the same place he had left her, shivering in the cold but waiting determinedly for him nonetheless.
“I’m back.” He mewed softly, rubbing his cheek against hers in greeting. “I brought back the cat I was telling you about. Her name is Yellowfang. She might look scary, but I promise you, she’s the best healer I’ve ever met.”
“I- Okay.” Her white-tipped tail twitched nervously at his words, but she didn't voice any worries she might have.
“She also brought her apprentice, Dewpaw. She’s training to be a healer, like how I was training to be a warrior.” His sister stiffened at his words, but he quickly held up his tail to hush her. “It was the only way I could get Yellowfang to agree to help. And I promise that Dewpaw is much nicer than her mentor. She’s about our age, and she’s very understanding.”
Princess stared down at her paws for a moment before finally nodding almost imperceptibly. “Okay. If you believe it’s for the best, I believe you.”
“I do.” He nuzzled her once more and bounded back up to the top of the fence. “You two can come out now.”
The healers came out from the bushes warily before they scrambled over the top of the fence, evidently not quite used to having to make such high leaps. As they all dropped down into the garden, Dewpaw looked around with wonder. “There’s so many herbs here! And- is that catmint?” She gasped as she caught sight of a frosted, bushy plant. “Yellowfang-”
“Hush, child.” Yellowfang murmured. “If his sister allows it, perhaps we can harvest some to take back with us. But we have a job to do first.”
Princess’ green eyes were wide as she stared at the two new wild cats. “You’re Fireheart’s friends?” She asked cautiously, though she didn’t move away as they approached.
“His Clanmates, yes.” Yellowfang replied, though he could tell she was holding back the barbs she would normally have used in response to being called his ‘friend’. “My name is Yellowfang. I am responsible for healing all manner of ailments in our Clan, both mental and physical.” She drew Dewpaw closer with her tail. “This is my apprentice, Dewpaw. She is learning to do the same from me. She is here solely to observe, and will only speak if you ask her to.”
The little apprentice sat primly beside the grizzled old healer and nodded to affirm her words, though didn’t speak as though she were sitting vigil. “Uh- Thank you, Yellowfang, Dewpaw.” His sister mewed, though he could tell she was still wary of them as she glanced at Fireheart. “Did- did my brother tell you everything?”
“He told us enough.” Yellowfang responded as she also sat down beside her apprentice. “But whatever you feel comfortable sharing with me is up to you. We are here to help you, whatever you think that might entail.”
The grizzled molly caught Fireheart moving close out of the corner of her eye, and turned to give him a surprisingly dirty glare. “Why don’t you go run off and do whatever it is you warriors do when you’re not bothering us?” She growled at him. “Go chase mice, or whatever. Don’t worry; we’ll take care of your sister.”
He hesitated, glancing to his sister for her approval, but she gave him a quick nod. He had to trust that Yellowfang would treat her well. “Alright. I’ll be hunting nearby; you can yowl if you need me.” With that, he jumped to the top of the fence separating the Twolegplace and the forest, taking one last look behind him at the three mollies. They were huddled close together, murmuring softly, and as he watched Yellowfang gently cleaned one of his sister’s ears while she leaned into it. The simple act made him smile, and with more confidence he bounded off into the forest, looking to return to camp laden with prey.
He didn’t return to camp until just before sunhigh, carrying a cardinal and a mouse that he had managed to catch on the way back. Though Tigerclaw glared as he walked by, the deputy said nothing as he put his prey where the freshkill pile would be. Most of the prey had been distributed out for sharing tongues; as he looked up, he could see most cats clustered around the fringes of camp, including two familiar mollies sharing a robin.
He bounded over, the anxiety he’d felt leaving Princess alone with the healers suddenly welling up once more. Just as he stopped in front of Yellowfang, mouth open to issue a greeting, she held up a paw to stop him. “I already know what you’re going to ask.” She rasped at him, swiping her tongue around her mouth to collect some stray flecks of prey. “And I can’t answer anything. If you want to know what happened, you’ll have to ask her yourself.”
“Maybe I was just going to say hello.” Fireheart retorted.  “But I understand. I just want to know one thing: Did you help her?”
The old healer regarded him for a long moment. “Yes.” She answered at last. “We did.”
“That’s all I care about.” The warrior mewed with a dip of his head. “Thank you, both of you. For- for everything.”
Yellowfang shrugged in response. “We’re healers. It’s what we do. Besides, I wasn’t going to leave a young molly like her in distress. I know it’s a hard position to be in, even without being a season-cycle or so old.”
He perked his ears at that, but before he could ask more she chuffed in amusement. “Why, we should be thanking her! She let us take some catmint when we left, and while it’s old it’s still fresher than the stores Spottedleaf left me.”
He tilted his head in confusion. “Dewpaw mentioned it too. Why is catmint so important?” Nearly every kittypet’s garden had had some, and while it was a wonderful smelling plant, he couldn’t imagine that was why the healers seemed to regard it so highly.
“It’s very rare in Clan territory, but it’s also one of the best cures for greencough.” Yellowfang glanced at her apprentice with a wry smirk. “And unlike firefern and suncough, both are most definitely real. Most leafbares will bring a couple of cases of greencough, but I witnessed one leafbare where nearly a dozen cats caught it. Nearly all of them died.” She shook her head mournfully. “The fresher the catmint, the more likely it will treat it. Perhaps this leafbare we’ll get lucky.”
“That’s good to hear.” He looked up to see Peppermask and Graystripe sharing the cardinal he’d caught. “I’ll leave you two to eat in peace, but I- if you need anything from me, just let me know. I appreciate what you did.”
The old healer rolled her eyes. “Yes, for this and everything else, I’m sure.” She flicked her tail dismissively. “Go on, then. Let us enjoy our meal. Surely you can find someone else to share tongues with for sunhigh.”
He gave her one last appreciative nod before turning and bounding over to where his warrior friends were sitting. “I hope you don’t mind sharing.” He mewed as he settled down besides Graystripe, giving the tom a bump with his shoulder.
“Only if you tell us what you were talking with Yellowfang about.” Peppermask mewed, her ears perked curiously. “Did something happen while you were out hunting?”
He hesitated. Part of him wanted to tell them the truth, but he feared how they might react. Besides, what had happened was just one time; never again would the Clan need to know that he was talking to his kittypet sister. “I found some catmint out on patrol.” He mewed, careful not to lie entirely, though certainly not telling the whole truth. “I remembered Dewpaw talking about it one time. I just wanted to know if it was useful, that’s all.”
The side-eye Peppermask gave him told him she certainly didn’t believe him, at least not entirely, but she nodded slowly all the same. “Helpful as always, aren’t you?” She mewed at last as Graystripe nudged the cardinal slightly towards him. “Was it useful, then?”
“It was! Yellowfang told me about how it’s used to treat greencough in leafbare.” He mewed, before taking a carefully timed bite.
“Greencough.” Peppermask’s face dropped at the mention of the sickness. “You weren’t here for it, but it killed many in the Clan last leafbare. Between that and the Great Hunger, it devastated the Clan. So many cats died.” She shook her head slowly. “Still, if you found a cure for it out on patrol, that’s a good thing. Maybe it means we won’t suffer so much this season-cycle.”
“I did. Yellowfang said it wasn’t as fresh as she wanted, but it was still better than nothing.” Fireheart mewed, hoping she could hear the honesty in his voice. “Did anyone you know die?” He asked softly, touching his nose to her cheek for comfort.
“It never spread to the nursery, thanks to Spottedleaf’s hard work.” The spotted molly replied slowly. “But many elders and senior warriors died. Swiftbreeze, our grandmother, was one of them.” She shook her head briefly. “It doesn’t matter much anymore. I’m just glad to hear that this leafbare might fare better than the last.”
“It will.” The ginger warrior mewed determinedly. As he pushed his worries about his sister to the back of his mind, confident in Yellowfang’s promise that she had helped Princess, he instead turned his thoughts towards the coming moon. Even with Tigerclaw’s plotting, he would do his best to help the Clan survive the frigid grasp of leafbare. He just hoped that Starclan wouldn’t give them too many challenges, and that the deputy’s inevitable betrayal didn’t come before they could stop him.

I love the song "King and Lionheart" bc of the intense Inseparable Siblings vibes, and I really want it to work for the Descur siblings, but their relationship doesn't fit the vibe. It can't even work for the Whiskey Twins bc they don't remember each other
Whenever Varoll gets her first matesprit, I want their ship to be named "Come Along With Me" for the Adventure Time series finale song. It's just such a pretty and cute little tune, and her first ever crush is going to be so adorable
Brandy will wait a month before tracking down Kas again, and he will offer them flowers and a box of donuts and apologize for trying to kill them when they first met and once again attempt to extend the olive branch of friendship. Fucking stubborn dumbass but I love him
Perhaps it's time to cause more problems for Corali

Hey can I have some fukin uhjhhhh Goldenflower hcs? If not she then Micah ty bestie
sure thing bestie! getting the golden cats for you today!
Goldenflower
sapphic demigirl. a lot of tpb queens give demigirl vibes, but Goldenflower especially.
she and Lionheart are basically twinsies. her fluff is just a bit less prominent, but don't let that statement fool you, a kit can definitely hide in her fur to win a game of hide-and-seek.
she might be sapphic (and definitely had a huuuuuuge crush on Bluefur/star), but she also really loved Tigerclaw.
he was the one that confessed to her and asked to become mates. Tiger admired her strenght and courage, two things most cats in ThunderClan think of when they think about her.
she has beaten up many cats in fights, she's actually a scarier battler than Lionheart
she's fucking proud of the little nick Blue gave her when she was an apprentice. she actually has multiple extra scars that are hidden beneath all her fur.
she would not be a good deputy or leader though. she's a bit too impulsive and stubborn for the job; this makes her a great warrior, but she'd be a bit too much of a threat to deal with annoying leaders of other clans. (if the tigerheartstar conquering riverclan thing happened while she (for some unholy reason) was still leader she would've sent her grandchild packing out of riverclan with the longest lecture in history.)
she LOVES her kits and would've killed for them. she was already a good mom, but the reacions of the clan made her spitefully be an even better mom for her two kits. Giving them all the love they should've gotten from the clan.
Smallear is still her father, yes Smallear, the same guy that bullied Tawnypaw out of ThunderClan. Smallear and Goldenflower never had the closest of relations before that (Small wasn't really invested in his kits' life, and he really dissaproved of Tigerclaw as a mate), but after that Golden and Small just couldn't even talk to each other without a monstrous fight breaking out.
Smallear actually died because of a heart attack after a pretty gruesome fight with Goldenflower. She never apologized to Smallear in StarClan, they simply don't talk ever again.
anyways, back to nice stuff.
Goldenflower often had some yellow or light blue flowers in her fur. it mostly depended on her mood and whatever she could find.
she's a fun cat with apprentices. she never mentored one, but sometimes she grabbed one of them to go out and train a bit. they always loved those days.
lynx and swift are also goldentiger kits. lynxkit is a tortie that looks a lot like tiger too (have I ever posted my lynx design?). anyways yeah she was also mondo pissed when Swift died because of tiger's shenanigans.
she was even angry at tiger when he was outed as a traitor obviously. the thing is that she knew of his ambitions. she knew he wanted to become leader and while she didn't know he had killed redtail (one of her friends might I add), she knew he was angry and impatient. they had spent a few nights together to talk about how life in ThunderClan would be if he became leader. she was silently a bit worried that their little moments together made him desiring of speeding up the process of Bluestar dying so that he could become leader. That isn't true
Micah
autism; he just gives those vibes yano. i still haven't read moth flight's book, but he autism.
he's also non-binary. they use he/they
never liked climbing trees, even before joining the clans.
honestly thought Skystar was a stinky piece of shit
Micah, Cow and Mouse found family. They just vibed together in the barn before Moth Flight showed up. Micah was always up to no good in that damned barn according to Mouse.
Micah was always interested in herbs and discovered a few ones that are still used by the modern clans now.
They never thought about getting a mate or a family until Moth Flight showed up, even then they didn't really think about Moth romantically up until they nearly died.
I know moth is the one that takes care of a litter that happens to spawn with some issues, but Micah actually did more of those things. some NPC litters happened while Micah was still alive and they helped everyone learn some neat tricks to let it happen flawlessly.
This is a thing because they become the soft of god of birth in StarClan and often (invisibly) materialise to assist any queen in need. (Silverstream wasn't saved because Micah can't do everything and this time they couldn't even be there because Mapleshade bodyslammed them out of SIlver's reach.).
They often visited Moth Flight in her dreams after their death. they spent quite a lot of time tooling around in her dreams
they were so against the rule of healers not being allowed mates and so against their kits being split. Moth and Micah had a few arguments over these things, but they eventually resolved them.
they saw Acorn Fur as a new little sister. Fellow autistic little gal. they simply connected very well. This made Mith jealous, but we are Not talking about the mess that is Moth Flight here.
somehow somehow related to root and thus tree and thus needle and rootspring. the vibe I get from Micah (fuzzy, yellow, funky stripes and a sprout in their hair) just matches too well with Tree for it to be a coincidence.
the autism also passed down on the line. look at Tree and his kits and tell me autism isn't oozing from them.

Hello Internet, I’m Still Alive! Welcome back to Hypokits! First-time Hypokit peruser @quaelgeist333 asked for Survivor!Leader!Snowkit/Disabled!Sol and Transmasc!Nonbinary!Ivypool/Former Loner!Fernsong, and Frequent Flier @fernstarsblog asked for Golden!Evil!Firestar/Ginger Calico!Sandstorm/Older!Trans!Cinderpelt! (Fireslash IS Golden, I swear, the picture just makes him Golden-Brown because I don’t have Enough Problems apparently)
In the first AU, Snowkit feels the vibrations of everyone running to save him from the hawk, looks up, and yoinks out of the way. He is mentored by Brackenfur, and becomes Snowspeckle, to honor the mother who never gave up on him, and helped develop CSL - Cat Sign Language - which Thunderclan uses to strategize and gossip at Gatherings. Snowspeckle later becomes deputy under Firestar, and is well beloved. Sol’s story is also different - he was abandoned by his mother for not being sleek and tall - he’s short and scruffy and boys aren’t torties you must be the ugliest baby ever! He grows up angry and lashes out, but had always wanted a loving family. He meets Midnight and plans to vent his rage at the Clans, but sees The 3 being Good Happy Siblings and Y E A R N S. He also panics when Hollyleaf almost gets hit by a Monster and shoves her out of the way without thinking. He wakes in Thunderclan with a twisted hind leg, and finds they care So Much about this Scruffy Man, and this one white tom keeps wiggling at him? What? Thankfully Leafpool fills him in and oh he thinks I’m cute!?! OH SNAP HERE COME THE SELF WORTH ISSUES! It works out eventually, with many applications of Love, Self-Confidence, and Flowers!
In the second AU, which will be part of the first as a treat, Ivypool has Issues which she(?) can’t figure out, and everyone is Looking At Her(?), and she bolts in a panic. She(?) quite literally runs face first into Fern the loner, who was a son of the Sisters - his power, though he doesn’t know it yet, is knowing Gender, which doesn’t sound like much, but is Very Helpful sometimes. He asks this skinny new friend if they’re okay? Is someone misgendering y’all? You’re obviously Nyanbinary to some degree wait are you crying? Have a Warm Hug I’m really good at those! Is someone being Mean to you did they hurt your ears? Don’t worry I’m not a good fighter but I’ll uhhh lecture them? Yeah sit on them and oh her where are we going? Ivypool drags h-their(!) new confused and very supportive friend back to camp, Firestar can I keep him please?!?
In the last AU, a newborn Cinderkit is found abandoned by a Thunderclan patrol, and 4 moons old Sandkit touches the baby curiously. Some time later, Tigerclaw brings Rusty to camp, saying the kittypet has been following him and wants to join up. Secretly, Tigerclaw has been training the ambitious little sadist to kill Bluestar. Bluestar agrees as long as Tigerclaw trains him, and Sandpaw and her Tomfriend Cinderpaw watch in curiosity and confusion. Both are wary, neither like the giant brown tabby much, until Fireslash takes Tigerclaw down when he attacks Bluestar and her wives Yellowfang and Rosetail. Tigerclaw’s ghost disapproves of this betrayal heartily. The couple approach Fireslash to father some kits, and he agrees as long as he gets to train one when they’re old enough. Some time later, both Sandstorm and Cinderpelt have had litters about a moon previously, and the two leave to find Fireslash, mysteriously absent. They find him luring dogs to the woods, and try to sneak back to camp. However, Fireslash smells them and tries to just outright kill them, nearly killing their defender Lionheart in the process. He stalks towards the nursery, begins to leap - and trips over a Very Angry Redkit grabbing his legs, landing his Neck and Eye on Very Pointy Sticks dislodged during the fight, and meeting his mentor much sooner than anticipated. Lionheart recovers, and when the Dark Forest comes for The Clans much earlier, five brave siblings lead the charge!
Aaand that’s it for now! I have 4 anon requests currently, and a plan for when I hit 100 subscribers, so…see you then! -fingerguns at y’all, spins around, falls directly into bed-
