#the thing about labels is that the fact that they act as shorthand for a longer meaning can be both good and bad.#saying 'I'm gay' is a quick way to convey a lot to someone. but there's so many negative assumptions and connotations that make it hard#and sure. some of it is rooted in the desire to not be seen as one of the 'bad gays' which is a stance which needs a lot of self relection#but a lot of it. at least for me. is rooted in experience of having people see my label and assuming things about me and then acting on it#like. identifying as a gay dude had some guys think that meant I was immediately down for a fling. no it doesn't#anyone who watches anything dsmp related probably knows this experience of being immediately assumed to be a cringe 'dream stan' or whatev#anyway all this to say if you've been around for the last *checks watch* three years you know I like furry shit#but like. identifying as a furry has so many different connotations and you say that to anyone who isn't familiar with it and they cringe#like. idk bro. making a fursona definitely means I'm in it at least a little bit. but 'I'm a furry' feels like such a damning statement#idk. rambles into the void because that's just how it's going
