"Why does it bother you when people treat you extra nice because you're disabled, don't you want to be treated kindly?" No! I want to be treated like a human being! I don't need to be pitied and coddled and treated like some special fragile little creature just because I'm disabled, just like I don't need to be vilified and dehumanized and treated like some freakish revolting Other.
