Do you think that the characters in wonderful school days are out of character
I haven’t really played enough of it to say definitively one way orthe other, but my general impression is that while they may not beentirely OOC there’s definitely some difference between normal K castand Otome Game K cast. I think some of it is just a function of thegame in general, like for one thing everyone has to show an interestin the protagonist because it’s an otome game so characters who mightnot be likely to give her the time of day are suddenly intrigued byher and her relationship with those characters is more likely tosupersede their relationships with others (like Fushimi and Yata forexample, now the protagonist is more important to them than theirrelationship with each other because Protagonist of Otome Game). AlsoI feel like from what I’ve seen everyone is considerably less nuancedand probably less messed up than in canon, it seems like the otomegame pretty much picked one or two existing traits from eachcharacter and made that their entire character, so Fushimigoes from grumpy troubled asshole afraid of all his precious thingsbeing destroyed to just grumpy asshole (I find the CGs from the otomegame kinda hilarious for this reason, seriously Fushimi almost neversmiles at the girl,  the widest smiles he gives are when he seesYata. At least try to convince me he’s in love with a girl, game). Itend to see the otome game cast as a bit like the Gakuen K versionsbut going in the other direction, where everything in Gakuen K wasexaggerated for comedic effect in the otome game everyone is softenedand flattened a little in order to make them into largelynonthreatening bishouen harem members. That’s actually part of whyI’m not that interested in the otome game, it doesn’t seem like theyreally used that as a vehicle to enhance or explore the cast in an AUsetting, I think it’s a little more generic and dull than the seriesitself and the cast is somewhat less colorful and a little moresanitized.
