since I've gotten an influx of ffxiv followers lately I just wanted to once again recommend the machineries of empire series by yoon ha lee

if depressed, nuanced, and weirdly compelling war criminals are your thing then this series is for you. everyone in the series needs a hug and a copy of the geneva convention. 10/10
