8:12am — gojo satoru ;
Tumblr media
your sneeze cuts off your sentence and you sigh, apologising into the phone. “sorry, i really don’t think i can carry out the mission.”
you can imagine yaga rubbing his temples on the other side of the line. “just worry about getting better. we can always have someone else fill your absence.”
“thanks, yaga. i’m really sorry for this.”
“don’t worry about it. take care.”
you end the call and sniffle, shoving your hand and phone deep into your pockets to try and conserve heat. the sniffle does little to clear your nose so you do it again, inhaling harder. by the end of it, your airways are no clearer than before.
a doorbell interrupts your suffering and you need to clamp your mouth shut to stop from groaning. dragging your feet behind you, you painfully walk over to your door. when you peer through the peephole, you’re met with a bright blue eyeball peeking through lifted black fabric.
“what the fuck.” you pull open the door. “gojo?”
your colleague stands on the other side, adorned in his typical work uniform with a white bag of something hanging off his arm. “you took so long to open the door i thought you might have died!”
“don’t sound too upset.” you roll your eyes.
gojo pauses and leans in, causing you to take a step back. his face falls into something you’ll call the equivalent to serious considering that you were talking about gojo, and he tilts his head to study you further. “is that a new makeup look? can’t say it flatters your features.”
you growl and it sounds sickly. “i’m not! i’m—” you shake your head as a migraine threatens your sanity. “doesnt matter, what are you here for?”
“we work together! do i need a reason to come over and hang out?”
“at eight in the morning? yeah, you kind of do.”
“it almost sounds like you don’t want me here.”
“what gave it away?” you say, drily. of course, either gojo doesn’t get the nuance behind your words or he finds pleasure in testing you because he keeps bothering you with his presence.
“my feelings are hurt.” he sulks.
"i don't give a fuck about your feelings."
gojo's eyebrows shoot up. "wow, are you mad at me?"
you shake your head, sighing. “no, i'm not."
"right? after all, i haven't even done anything."
when he doesn't elaborate and the conversation dies, you ask, "was that everything?"
“why do you want me gone so fast? are you hiding something in there?”
you open your mouth to retort when a pulsing pain in your head cuts you off; the migraine was here. you groan, rubbing your temple as gojo’s voice zones in and out. “listen gojo, i am way too sick to banter with you right now. if it’s nothing important, can you talk to me another day?”
“you’re sick? how bad?”
you try to give him patience. “bad.”
gojo hums thoughtfully. “well it’s lucky for you that i’m super great at taking care of sick people.”
you stare at him. “you? really?”
“yeah! i’m incredible at it.”
you level with him a stare before slowly closing the door, intending to shut him out. his foot comes in a blur, holding it in place and you huff.
“you don’t believe me?” he says, looking the part of a wounded animal.
“if i say i do, will you leave me alone?”
gojo tuts, shaking his head. “this won’t do, we can’t have you believe in a false truth. i’m crazy good at taking care of people, i’ll prove it to you now!”
“no, that’s okay gojo, i don’t need your help— and you’re already inside. great.” the door closes behind you with a soft click as you stumble to your living room. “just stay out of the way, okay? and for god’s sake, keep quiet.”
"it'll be like i'm not even here. i promise."
"i don't believe in your promises." you grumble, stomping over to the bathroom. you notice, notice very clearly in fact, that the tall white-haired man follows after you. you stop at the entrance, looking back at him. "are you seriously following me to the bathroom?”
"i was going to stand guard outside!"
"i don't need you to. all i need is for you to leave." you hiss, entering the bathroom and slamming the door in his face. when you come out, he's still standing there, guarding.
you scrunch your nose up at him but leave anyway. he wasn't worth it, you remind yourself.
you make it to your next destination safely, thanks to your new and improved guard dog. checking out the fridge in your kitchen, you realise there was nothing to pop in the microwave and eat whilst wallowing in self-pity.
you do the next best thing and place a pot over your gas stove. bending over, you turn the small knob and watch as the blue flame arises. you let go of the knob, and the flame dies.
this was not something you needed right now but the emptiness of your stomach is all too prominent. so you try again, bending over and rotating the knob over the small fire symbol and watching as the stove flares up. carefully, you release the knob. the flame dies again.
“you okay?”
you grit your teeth into a smile. “yes, gojo. i think i might be better if you could stop looking over my shoulder.”
“the stove does not like you.” he ignores, side stepping to try himself. and because he’s so irritatingly perfect in every way, the blue flame rises and stays when he lets go.
gojo turns to you with a bright smile.
you sniffle and nod. “thank you.”
“what are you making?”
rummaging through your pantry, you remove a packet of instant noodles. the bright red icon on the packaging causes gojo to raise his eyebrow.
“super spicy?”
“i can’t feel anything in my nose right now. i’m thinking of flushing it out with something else.” you go to fill the pot with water but he stops you. “what?”
“you’re sick, you shouldn’t be eating something like that.”
“do you have a better idea?” you ask. “this is all i have in the house right now.”
gojo grins. he lets the white bag he was still holding onto slip down from his arm to his hand and he opens the two handles with enthusiasm. because it was so contagious, you can’t help but feel excited, peering into the bag.
you blanch. “is that medicine, creamed corn and one single egg?”
“yes!”
“that isn’t a meal either, gojo.” you think again, flickering your gaze up to his eyes. “but that’s sweet, thank you. i’ll take the pills after.”
you start to move around but he stops you with his arm. “didn’t i say i was here to take care of you? i’ve got this, just go over and relax on the couch.”
“the last thing i’ll be doing is relaxing if you’re in the kitchen.” your migraine disagrees so you eventually nod, shuffling away. casting one last glance, you point at him. “don’t start a fire.”
he gives you a cheerful wave and you stumble to your couch. you fall into its cushions and exhale, deeply.
time passes in a blur as your illness takes a hold of you, digging its finger into your brain and shaking it, displacing your cerebral spinal fluid. with your face deep within a pillow, you almost miss the scent of smoke.
almost.
you spring yourself up on your arms and dart back into the kitchen, almost running into a wall. coughing, you fan away a puff of smoke as you enter, finding the culprit wishing a tune and stirring something in a pot.
"gojo?" you choke.
gojo spins around and you find that he'd somehow pulled out the "kiss the chef" pink apron shoko gifted you on your birthday which you had immediately hid. it fits him terribly, straining to cover his torso. "you're up! why are you up?"
you cough again, stepping closer. "can't you see past that blindfold? you're starting a fire! i'm surpised my smoke alarm hasn't gone off!"
you reach over and turn the exhaust fan on, something he hadn't even done, and squint through the fog to look at what he was making.
"what is that?"
"it's soup! i heard soup is good for you when you're sick."
you look between the lump of black coal in the pot and gojo's smiling face. "soup has water in it."
"i know, i added that! it just all disappeared." gojo stirs the pot, and you're no longer sure what exactly, he was stirring. "i even added the pills you wanted to take so it'll be easier."
you wordlessly reach down and turn off the gas stove.
he lets you. "thanks, i was just about to plate this."
gojo begins manoeuvring your kitchen with a familiarity you weren't sure how he obtained. he opens the overhead pantry and takes out a bowl, pulls out the utensils from its respective drawer, and uses your favourite spatula to transfer the black lump of something.
he places the bowl in front of you. "here you go."
you stare at it for so long, you start seeing black. eventually, you begin registering the item. "wait a minute, is this a cursed object? did you infuse your cursed energy into this?"
gojo has that stupid grin on his face, the one that he uses when he knows he's in the right. "it is! this should make you better in no time. i used to give this to megumi all the time when he was sick."
"but it looks so..."
gojo digs through his pockets, pulling something out and hiding it in his fist. he holds it out to you. "if you're good and eat it, i'll give you this."
"what is it?"
"it's a secret." gojo says. "c'mon, be a good girl and take your medicine."
you huff, pulling your gaze away from his hand and towards the black lump. it looks edible, maybe if you squint at it, and it didn't seem all too big. you could probably get it down in two big bites. so with the determination of a seasoned warrior, you square your shoulders and break off a chunk, throwing it into your mouth.
your face immediately scrunches up as the taste hits you.
gojo coos at you from the side. "you're almost done."
you glare at him through tears, gulping the substance down when you're able to, and stuff the remaining bit into your mouth.
when it's travelling down your oesophagus, you thrust the bowl back into gojo's hands. "you better give me that thing in your hand."
gojo places his fist in your hands and opens it. a single candy stares up at you. "it's strawberry flavour, your favourite."
you murmur curses at him under your breath, something about him treating you like a child, but take the candy anyway. when you pop it in your mouth, the sweetness is almost enough to make you forget the taste of the cursed object. gojo's sweet smile fills in those absences as he gestures you to follow him.
perhaps the cursed object gets to you, or gojo’s presence has wormed its way into being comforting because you find yourself following.
"where are we going?" you ask as he leads you around your own home.
"to bed. the medicine will only work if your parasympathetic nervous system is working and considering who you are, you'll never know true relaxation if you're awake."
"hey." you sniffle indignantly. "i know how to have fun and experience leisure."
he hums but doesn't answer, leading you into your room. thinking that a nap would indeed do you good, you start to pull off the shirt you were wearing and wriggle out of your pants. perhaps the sickness had done more to you than you realised, because you forget gojo's presence, whipping your head to find him still standing at your door, his back to you.
"i didn't see anything." he says, immediately.
you grumble, throwing yourself into your bed and sliding under the covers. only then does gojo turn to you.
"you're really docile when you're sick."
"i'll put my foot in your mouth."
gojo laughs, turning around to head out when you call his name.
"are you leaving?"
he smiles, peering over his shoulder. "miss me already? i'll be back, i promise."
"i don't believe in your promises." you say again, but let him go, sleep taking over you. you slip in and out of consciousness as the fever reaches its peak, time slipping away from your knowledge.
every now and then, you hear footsteps, and the sound of a chair being dragged across the floor. one time, you open your eyes and find gojo standing over you, a towel in his hands. "good morning."
you mumble out something that even you couldn't understand, and slip into another fever-induced sleep.
the next time you open your eyes, you're relatively more lucid. you sit up slightly and something wet falls off your forehead. you catch the towel in your hands.
gojo looks up from his spot in your chair, placed beside your bed. "you're up again. here, hand me that."
you wordlessly pass it over to him and he replenishes it in the basin he'd placed on your bedside table. you say without thinking, "maybe you really are good at taking care of sick people."
gojo grins, lightly pushing you to lay down again. "i told you so. you're alot less of a handful than megumi was."
the warmth of the towel soothes you and you close your eyes against the sensation. you hear gojo flicking through a book in his hands, and the sound of paper against fingers lolls you into another comfortable slumber. a nagging thought tickles the back of your mind and with effort, you peer up at him.
when you mumble something incoherent, gojo looks over at you. “what?”
“i said.” you lick your lips and try again. “what did you come here for? you never told me.”
he gives you a slight smile and reaches over, adjusting the towel. “you said you were sick. i wanted to check up on you.”
“but—”
“you can’t fall asleep if you keep talking.” he reprimands. “shall i sing you a lullaby so you can sleep quicker? megumi never lets me.”
even before you can reply, he starts beatboxing and you realised in your sick state that it was the intro to twinkle twinkle little star.
regardless, having gotten an answer, you close your eyes again and let the sleep drag you under. vaguely, you realise gojo must have arrived at your apartment immediately after you had informed yaga that you were sick, stopping only to grab the ingredients to his cursed object cure. you'd have to thank him when you wake up, if you remember.
with a soft exhale, you slip away, gojo's rendition of twinkle twinkle little star your escort.

A/N: Before the summary, this kind of has a ship implied! It's Adosou/Soudonis! If you're not comfortable with the ship, I advise you to click off for your own comfort ^^!
Summary: Adonis has never experienced a crush before so he's terrible at hiding it, making Rei a bit suspicious about what's going on.
---☀️
This felt all so wrong! Not wrong but...conflicting. Adonis had been having a never ending conflict for days, even weeks now. At first he was denying it, but now he just fully accepted that he accidentally caught feelings for someone he's not supposed to, his best friend. There was nothing wrong with liking Souma! It's just that...he was kinda conflicted on how this'll change their friendship. He felt all giddy and happy inside whenever he'd see him, but now that he's sure that he likes him, he couldn't help but changed the way he acted. Adonis started freezing around him, stopped talking mid sentence, or even accidentally getting red around him. It was so embarrassing...! Not only that, but Souma also started noticing the change that made him feel even worse since he thought he was sick! But he couldn't help it especially since he started seeing him in an entirely different way. He didn't want to but it just happened...!
These thoughts clouded Adonis' head to the point he couldn't even think straight and started messing up during rehearsals. He would start doing his moves late and get behind or he would forget to sing and skip some parts of the song. He felt so embarrassed from all of this...! He just wanted all of it to go away as he didn't know how to exactly deal with these kinds of things. As they were packing up, Adonis sat down on the practice room's floor and sighed. "Oi Adonis, tomorrow we'll just practice better tomorrow and don't be upset about it!" Koga said, patting his back to comfort him about his mistakes. "Thank you Oogami. I'm sorry for today, I'm not thinking straight that's all." And just shortly after, both Kaoru and Koga left the practice room and waved goodbye. Adonis planned to stay for a while longer to get rid of his frustration through cleaning but was interrupted by a hand on his shoulder.
"You've been oddly out of it~ Is there something on your mind?" Rei asked as he stood behind his junior, both hands rubbing his shoulders to ease tension yet failing at it. He felt him raise his shoulders with a sharp inhale and he looked slowly back at him "y-yes, I'm fine. Thanks for asking Sakuma-senpai." Adonis smiled and tried to keep on cleaning to not show the faint blush growing on his cheeks. He doesn't want him to press on other wise it'll make this more embarrassing, but knowing his senior, nothing good will come out soon enough. He continued to wipe a damp towel down the floor but was once again interrupted by his senior who was staring down at him with a smirk. He once again grabbed his shoulders and pulled him to sit up straight "Hm? There it is again, you're acting real weird. What's gotten into ya?" The purple haired one sealed his eyes shut as he didn't want to face his senior with a flushed face as he tried to hide his expression again "I can assure you I'm fine, it's just that we should continue cleaning. I can finish it so you won't have to Sakuma-senpai." He says, trying to excuse his way out of this but it's not working as the other kept closing in on the distance between them. "Hmm..." Rei hums, staring into his junior's face, clearly admiring at how he still had the guts to hold his facial expressions despite it being obvious. "Alright, just do your best for tomorrow's practice. Take a rest and go home after."
The door creaked open and then shut. 'He finally left..." Adonis thought as he wiped the floors clean before standing up to put away the cleaning materials. He still thought about it...What if Souma thought of it as weird? What if he doesn't want to be friends anymore if he finds out? All these couldn't leave his mind and he sighed heavily, opening the cabinet to return the items. Before he could even store all the equipment, hands suddenly pulled him back out of nowhere and hugged him as they both fell down to the floor. "AH!? Who goes the-" "So you're hiding something from us, Adonis-kun?~" Rei had somehow managed to trick him into thinking he left the room and is now holding him into this tight hug on the floor, trying to get him to spill. Normally, Adonis wasn't stubborn but for this case? He was keeping his mouth sealed shut. He didn't want his secrets out so he shook his head and tried to lie again "Oh so now you're keeping secrets? It's pretty obvious y'know..." The purple haired one's eyes grew wide as he turned his head around to face the evil smirk on the 'vampire's' mouth "O-Obvious...?" He questioned, his mouth shaking from nervousness "You've been blushing the entire time and you're even more silent than before. Someone caught your eye~?" He teased, it was mainly a joke but he struck gold when Adonis' face burned bright red and he turned away from him. His assumptions were right...! That was so cute...! "A-Ah, I was just teasing but did I get it right!?" Rei asked from excitement but the other refused to answer and kept his back turned from him to not show his really really really red face!
"Wait so who is it--?! C'mon tell me--! Don't leave me curious Adonis-kun!" Rei trapped Adonis into a tighter hug, making him unable to escape which causes him to panic a bit. Oh they were gonna stay here for a while... "I-It's no one! I promise!" "You're lying it shows on your face! You're too honest, you can't lie very well...!" Rei started giggling as he started playfully tormenting his very flustered junior. "I'm not lying...!" "This is my first time seeing you like this! It's such endearing side of you. I'm still curious on who it is though and you know I won't stop 'til you spill their name~" this was getting dangerous! Adonis tried to get out of his grasp but he was trapped so well that he couldn't even squirm as much. He honestly expected Rei to just keep him there for as long as he wants but his nerves got set on fire right after he felt a hand squeeze both his ribs "aAH-!? S-Sakuma-senpai what are you doing..?!" His eyes lit up in panic as he tried to get away, but he underestimated the strength of his senior as he held him down with ease. "Just motivating you a bit...! You've been so tense you should at least smile while, y'know, spilling the name...!" And just like that ten fingers suddenly dug under his shirt from behind and started scratching his stomach. Adonis threw his head back and kicked his legs out, covering his mouth partially to hide his blush "WAHAHAhahait! NOhoho! Yohou're tihihicklIHIHINng meheheee...! SahahahaHAHAKUHUMAhaha-sehenpai!!" This was so humiliating! Not only did he have to think about how he'll subtly try to confess about his feelings, but he couldn't even think straight due to the sensations!
Honestly, Rei understood if he didn't want to say anything, he just wanted to tease him since it was rare to see his junior act like this! He was always so calm and collected that it felt so nice to see him go out of character every once and a while. The vampire chuckled and hugged him tighter, putting on leg on his thighs to trap him fully. He moved his hands and started to skitter his fingers on Adonis' sides. "Well, I am tickling you Adonis-kun. So of course it's gonna feel like that. I mean, you already know how to get me to stop right~?" "NOhohoho-!!" "Oh? You don't know what I want?" "NOhoho...! I mehehean stop tihihickling mehehHEHEHehe-!" Adonis' eyes were squeezed shut as he tried to focus on squirming away and enduring the tickles. He wasn't that ticklish but he was still weak to it! "Well I'll stop the moment you tell me what I want~! C'mon it's not that hard loverboy...!" "Dohohon't cahahall mehehe thahahat!!" "Hm, fair point it does sound more like a nickname for Kaoru. Fine no nicknames but I'm curious! I promise I won't snitch!" Adonis shook his head and tried to push Rei away to no avail. He can't let him know...! It's not that personal but it's so embarrassing! He wasn't known for romance or any of that stuff, this was going to be the end of him...!
'He's persistent to these things huh...' Rei thought while continuing his torment 'Well he did have three sisters...I guess he's used to these.' He moved onto squeezing his hips which earned a much more rewarding reaction as Adonis started jumping and squirming even more, laughter increasing by tenfold "AHAHAHhahahaHAHHAHA!! STOHOHOhohop ihihit-!!! ThheherHEHERES NOHOHOTHING TO Sahahay-! sahaHAHAKUMA- SEHENPAI!!" He shook his head trying to deny it but when he peeked one eye open he saw Rei's teasy expression. It was obvious he didn't fall for it. "Red face, constantly freezing, you're not even that outgoing but you still somehow made yourself shyer. It's so obvious~! There's nothing to be ashamed of!" And just like that, Adonis' face heated up even more! His face was so red he didn't even bother to fight back anymore and retreated his hands to cover his face. "Still being stubborn hm?" He hummed as he moved closer to the purple haired one's neck, whispering in his ear "remember, this can and will get worse...!" That...wasn't an empty threat. As much as Rei was known as their senior for being too chill about things and even complaining that he was too old for alot of activities, he was still an older brother that often tormented the members of UNDEAD and others with tickling if something particular didn't go his way. Knowing this, he started feeling even more nervous than before.
Before he could even process anything, Rei had somehow found a way to locate his worst spot immediately! He hadn't even gotten involved in any of the tickle fights he started before! Adonis' eyes shot open as he felt a squeeze on his thighs, jumping up before crashing down and laid down on Rei's chest unintentionally. "EHEHEEK-! WAhahait-! We can...! Uhm... Just not there!" "Oh? Are you going to...maybe tell me now?" He really isn't giving up is he? "Okay fine! I'll admit, maybe I...do like someone but that's it...! Please just nohot there!" "You're already giggling out of nervousness...!" "Yohou're too clohose!" His junior was giggling a storm! He wasn't even touching him just yet! "Well, I'm hearing no names so I have no choice, I'm hurt Adonis-kun!" "W-Wahait-but-but I already admIHI- NOHOHO ACK--! WAIT NOHOHOT THEHEHERE-!! NOT THEHEHEHERE!!" The younger started to squirm so much that his hair was disheveled and his face was beet red. Rei couldn't see it since he was facing his back but he could see his ears tinting red and his words jumbling up. He switched his technique from squeezing to kneading and--
"EEHEHEK-! NOHO NOT LIKE- EHEEHEK- SAAHAHAKU-!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA-!! OKAY! OKAHAHAY!!" "Hm? Okay?" "IHI'LL TEHELL YOU JUS-- EEHEHE NOHOOHO!!" Adonis just lost it and started pounding his fists on the ground and flailed around so much he couldn't control himself anymore. Tears were rolling down his eyes and his laughter softened up, he reached his limit. Rei stopped and started to give his head a little rub to calm him down "Ah woops-! I didn't mean to take it too far this time. I'm sorry Adonis-kun." He softened his expression before turning to his junior "you don't actually have to tell me, it's just a small tease since I didn't think you'd actually fall for someone right n--" "It's Kanzaki". He actually gave his name!? Rei was so shocked that he couldn't help but keep his mouth open a bit, not realizing that he embarrassed his junior even more as he covered his face and tried to rush away. "AH! Ah ah ah! Wait nono! I didn't mean anything bad by it! It's just that I was surprised! He's the one from AKATSUKI correct? Samurai?" "Yeah..." "I know he's one of your trusted friends so I think it's pretty nice that you ended up liking him out of all people." For some reason, those words comforted him than anything. Adonis couldn't help but turn his gaze over to his senior with a slight blush on his cheeks. "I mean, Kaoru and I mainly joke about being partners with a fan or some lady but, I consider you to be lucky that your first crush is someone you trust! Don't you think so too?" He ruffled his messy hair even more and looked at him with a gentle smile "I didn't want to pry but it looked too cute. Say, you should be like this more often." "If it doesn't include you tiring me out like this then maybe I'd consider it." "Well it was your fault for it anyway!" They ended up talking in the practice room far longer than they expected. It was a refreshing to finally get it off his chest and at least talk about it with someone. Even if it's just a small crush at it's purest form of innocence, he was still happy to know that the experience was normal and that he gets to share a moment with his senior.
A/N: I'm having a difficult time writing the requests right now since even if I have a scenario, it's pretty difficult to execute them! I'll do my best to fulfill them but in the meantime I hope y'all enjoyed this one cause I had fun writing it the most <3.
It's a little more intense than usual and it's something out of my comfort zone but, it was so fun to write that even I got myself thinking about it ^^"

Los Angeles
The fresh wind messes with your hair as you squint your eyes at the rising sun. You always loved the beach, but this one is your favorite. The way the light blue color of the ocean mixes with the sky is breathtaking, and you know you could spend all of your days here, just looking at the horizon, not a single worry on your mind. It's peaceful, like paradise. The sand is soft under your bare feet, and there's nobody here yet. It's too early, and the only reason why you're here is because you missed this feeling.
It doesn't matter where you go, you'll always want to return here, even is it's just for a visit. The only sound you hear is from the crashing waves, slow and calming, like music. You can't help but smile, eyes closed to better feel the warmth of the sunlight in your skin.
The unmistakable click of a camera gets your attention, forcing you to open your eyes again. Furrowing your eyebrows, you wonder if someone recognized you. It happened only once, even before the shooting for the season three started when a girl spotted you as the girl who Billy almost ran over. But that was it.
Turning around to check the source of the sound, your heart stops for a moment when you see Dacre, still putting his phone down.
“Sorry, but you were looking so good.” He says, making his way over you.
He's the one looking good. The white pants and pale blue shirt mix perfectly with the atmosphere, light, and relaxing. And all the rest too. His face, his smile, the way he walks. You're quick to notice the first three buttons of his shirt are opened and you wonder if he's getting this idea from Billy. “Me? Please, look at you. You're... Gorgeous.”
“Yeah.” She simply says, finally reaching you. “I'm glad you're still here. I was scared you'd be gone.”
Dacre lives forty-five minutes away from you. It's not that close, but close enough, you think. Maybe it's fate, or so says Millie. Like a sign. “I can't believe you came all the way here.” An hour ago, before you came to the beach, you answered his text to let him know where you would be since you wouldn't bring your phone.
“Better start trying, because here I am.”
Biting your lip to hold back a smile, you turn at the ocean again. “Well, this is one of my favorite places on Earth.”
“I noticed.”
“Really? How?” Crossing your arms, you look at him. Dacre's eyes are as blue as the ocean. But they're much more beautiful.
“The shine in your eyes.” He answers, shrugging his shoulders. “It's pretty obvious if you pay attention.”
“You say these things and I don't even know what to think.” Unlike you, Dacre doesn't try to hide his feelings or thoughts. He's honest, every time.
“Just tell me how you feel about this place.” He lightly touches your arm, and you set in a slow walk.
“Uhm...” You mutter, feeling as his hand slides down your arm until it reaches yours. His fingers linger for a while, and you feel the usual sensation Dacre brings you. Butterflies, moving all over your skin, tickling. Slowly, very, almost painfully, his fingers brush on yours, and when he's just about to let go, you decide to be brave, intertwining your fingers with his. You wait for him to still want to let to, but he doesn't. His grip only gets tighter. “It's beautiful, obliviously.”
“That's it? Is that everything you have to say about one of your favorite places on Earth?” You stop a few feet away from where the ripples reach. “You know you can tell me how you feel, right? I want to know.”
Taking a deep breath, you turn your body towards Dacre, trying not to look as nervous as you feel right now, holding his hand. “This is nostalgic. It's my second home after that house over there.” You gesture at a small group of houses by a cliff. “Mine is the tiniest one. I grew up here but only moved back a year ago. This beach makes me feel... Free. Like there is not a single worry in the world. It's... Bliss.”
Dacre is already looking down at you when your eyes meets his. The smile on his lips sends shivers down your spine. “I'm happy you shared it with me.”
“It's just... A couple of words.” Blushing, you look down. “It doesn't mean anything.”
“It means a lot.” His free hand comes to your face, fingers softly caressing your cheek and jaw. “To both of us.”
You were just about to say something when the water reaches your feet, and you give a little jump. “Oh my Gosh!” You exclaim, giggling.
“Wanna go for a swim?” He asks.
“I can't.” Shrugging your shoulders, you take a look at the ocean. “I don't know how to.”
“What?”
“It's not a big deal.”
“We were shooting next to a pool and you didn't tell me you can't swim?” He sounds a little offended, but when you look at him again, you can tell he's faking it. “I play the lifeguard, I should know that.”
“Well, you never asked.” Letting go of his hand, you start walking backward, away from the water.
“No, no.” He's quick to grab your arm, smirking. “We will go for a dive. C'mon.”
“No way!” You start pulling back, and a small fight starts. “You have your phone with you, remember? You'll ruin it.”
“Let me just–.” Dacre searches on his pocket, easily finding his phone and throwing it on the sand, away from the water. “Problem solved.”
“Dacre...”
“I won't let you drown. Trust me.” His voice invites you in, and you know you can't fight it. And you do trust him.
Sighing, you surrender, allowing him to pull you into the water. Your eyes are focused on his, and it's impossible to keep the usual distance. When your feet stop touching the bottom, you have no choice but to cling onto him, arms around his neck. Dacre holds you tight, arms encircling your waist, and you feel secure in his embrace. Fortunately, the water is calm, and the waves are small. It'll change in a few hours though, but for now, they won't be a problem.
There's nothing else to do now. Your foreheads are almost touching, and there's no space between your bodies. You've never been this close to him, not even on scene. You wonder if he can listen to your heart, beating insanely fast.
“Hold your breath.” He says and you nod, taking the deepest breath you can.
Dacre pulls you down with him, and you close your eyes shut. It only takes a few seconds before you break to the surface again, releasing the air from your lungs and lips breaking into a smile.
“You ok?”
“Yeah. Why?” You ask, letting go of him just to remove some of the hair that was attached to your face.
“Your cheeks are red.”
“Oh...” There's no way to hide it now, standing face to face with him. “I'm alright. I know you won't let your co-star drown.”
“Never.” He whispers, his voice deep and soft. “Actually, I–” Dacre is cut short by his cellphone ringing. It's a low, calming song you don't know.
“Maybe we should go.”
“I know who it is. This magazine wants an interview and a photoshoot but I told them I'd only accept if you could come with me.”
“What?” You giggle, furrowing your eyebrows. “I'm not as famous as you, they wouldn't want me.”
“The whole interview will be about Billy and Stranger Things. People are already shipping Billy and Amy, it'll only make sense if you're there with me.” As he speaks, Dacre starts making his way back to the beach, only letting go of you when you're out of the water. “And the moment season 3 starts, you won't be left alone by the fans, trust me.”
“Would James allow it? Seeing us together will raise suspicions.”
“Yeah, I texted James about it. He said it's a good idea, to get people hyped for the next season.” Dacre carefully picks up his phone. “What do you say? We could even go out after. Have dinner somewhere nice.”
Does he mean it like a date? It can't be... Right? “Ok, then. When is it?”
“Tomorrow afternoon. I'll pick you up.”
Smiling, you nod, biting your lip.
You would stay the whole day with Dacre, but you had promised your mother you'd spend the day with her. And Dacre understands it. You took him to your house so he could dry himself and have breakfast since he only had a cup of coffee.
When he leaves, your mother makes a lot of questions, and you're happy to answer. She teases you a lot, making silly comments and reminding you how handsome Dacre is throughout the day. You don't need to be reminded though, you know it very well.
When the next day comes, you patiently wait for him after having lunch and taking a fresh shower. You wonder if you'll always feel this nervous about Dacre. Just the thought of seeing him in a couple of minutes sends a shiver down your spine, makes your stomach burn with anticipation. When the doorbell rings, you jump up, taking your bag, and ignoring the stare your mother gives you.
“Bye, mom.” You mutter, heading to the front door. Taking a deep breath, you open it, trying not to smile. And failing. “Hi.”
“Hi.” He says back, and you start making your way to his car. “Excited?”
“Wondering what they'll ask. They always want some spoilers.” You get into the passenger seat, blushing with the fact that Dacre just opened the door for you.
“That they do.”
The ride is filled with chattering. You tell him about your childhood and he does the same. Eventually, you're not sure how exactly, you have your hand on his shoulder as he drives, then on his neck. He touches your leg every once in a while, and you can't help but blush a little.
But soon enough you're at this amazing, luxury hotel. The photoshoot will take place at the pools, which are absolutely incredible. It's huge, and there's an aisle in the middle, with a bridge that leads to it. A stylist comes to take you to the dressing room so you can change. It'll be 80's themed, so your swimsuit is very colorful, blue, green, and pink. The one piece is open on the sides and on the back, and it looks amazing. Your hair is done very quickly, beach waves with some volume. It takes an hour until you're allowed out, and Dacre is ready, talking to a guy. He looks good, his blue and green shirt unbuttoned, leaving his chest exposed.
“Hey,” you mutter when you're close enough. “Looking good.”
“Not as good as you.” He says, winking. “We were waiting for you, the interview happens now, then the photoshoot.”
“Alright.” Dacre guides you to a small scenario, with three chairs and a huge Stranger Things poster behind. The cameras are already positioned, and a woman comes to pin the microphones on your suits.
Once everything is ready, you and Dacre sit down, and a middle-aged woman takes the seat before you, a smile on her lips. The interview goes on very well, with small questions about what the public can expect from the new season, and from the relationship between Billy and Amy. People are really excited about it, you didn't know how much. You make a self note to make some research, to know where exactly the fans stand.
It was great until the video in the gym comes up. “I think it's pretty obvious, but that got people talking.” The woman, Maryan, says. “So I gotta ask. Is there anything happening between you two? Away from the cameras?”
You exchange a glance with Dacre, and you have no idea what to say. You don't want to say no, but you're too scared to say yes...
“Well, if there is you'll find out soon or later so...” Dacre speaks up, and you can tell this is the gentle way of saying this isn't her business.
She seems happy with that, making a quick remark before finishing the interview. Then different people take over. The photographer, a short man with grey hair and a huge camera starts guiding you around the pools. The stylist comes to fix your hair every time you strike a pose. And obviously, it takes little time for you and Dacre to be put close, very close.
You have fun though, laughing at his jokes about how weird things can get on these things. And that he's happy you're here.
“Alright. (Y/N), lie down, please. Dacre, sit down beside her.” Nodding, you follow the instructions. Half your body is in the shadow and the other half under the sunlight as you lie down near the pool. “Dacre, I want you to look down at her, and (Y/N), reach out your hand to touch his face.”
Trying to keep it professional, you do as he says. Dacre's eyes burn right through you, and you would give all the money you have to know what he's thinking. Slowly, you caress his jaw with your thumb, realizing you never touched him like this.
“You ok?” He asks, for the hundredth time. Dacre is always making sure you're comfortable, but the truth is that you're more than comfortable. You're actually starting to crave for this proximity, for his touch.
“Yeah...”
The camera flashes and you smile. “Look over here.” The photographer commands and you follow. “Amazing, amazing.”
The good news is that you're enjoying yourself. The bad news is that they make you get inside the pool, which is too deep. So all the photos have you on Dacre's arms, and honestly, you don't mind one bit.
The night is falling when the photoshoot is over and Dacre takes you to one of his favorites restaurants. It was an area on the back from which you have a view of the city. You both continue talking about childhood memories and stuff like that, and you tell him about your father. How he forced both you and your mother to put the walls high, to keep people away. Dacre is so kind though, reassuring you he wants to get in. That he wants to know how you feel, all the time. You still wonder if he means it though, you can't help it. But by the end of the night, after you both ate the desert and are now just chattering, you feel like he means it.
“Oh, have you read the script they sent us? They changed so many things they had to add another episode.” Dacre says, elbows on the table.
“Of course I didn't.” Shrugging your shoulders, you raise an eyebrow. “We got a five days vacation and that means no work. And since I have you to read it and tell me everything... Why should I?”
“Really? Are you making me do all the hard work in scene?” He makes a pause when the waiter comes with the check.
“James always likes it better when we improvise anyways.”
“I have no idea why.” He says, taking the check.
“Hey, we can–”
“I'm paying and that's not up to discussion.” He cuts you off, giving you a glance as he leaves the money on the table before standing up.
“But–”
“(Y/N), I...” You were just about to head to the exit when he stops, still near the table. “I'm not sure if I made it clear, I should've have... But this was supposed to be a date.”
Blushing, you gasp, looking at him in the eyes. “It kinda felt like a date but I didn't want to assume anything.”
“Well, if you're ok with it, I'd like this to be the first date.” Some people walk by, so you set in motion, walking towards the exit and to the parking lot.
“I'm ok with that.” More than ok, actually. Your stomach feels funny as he opens the passenger door for you, and your skin is on fire.
“Well...” He mumbles as he gets in, starting the car. “It's still a little early but since we have a flight tomorrow morning, we'll both need to get some sleep.”
“Definitely.” You agree. Tomorrow you'll be flying back to the set, straight to the kissing scene. As if he's listening to your thoughts, Dacre gives you a glance. “Excited to go back to work?”
“I am actually.” He nods, eyes on the road.
“Why?” It comes out suddenly because you can't help but wonder if it's for the kiss. If he wants to kiss you as you want to kiss him.
“...I miss the guys, that's all.”
Oh...” Shifting in your seat, you look away from him, eyes on the road ahead. Your heart sinks a little, and now you're genuinely confused. “Me too.”
“Yeah.” He mumbles, a hand running through his hair.
The rest of the ride to your place is silent, and when you get there, you mutter a goodbye. Once you're inside, away from Dacre, you can't help but feel a little stupid. Maybe you're misreading the signs. He did say today was supposed to be a date, so you don't get why he ignored the kiss. He knows that's the scene you'll be shooting tomorrow night. You'll be thrown back into work straight into the very scene you've been worrying about since the beginning. You were hoping he'd say something, make it easier or... You just don't know anymore. If Dacre wants a date, he should want a kiss too, right? Isn't it how it works?
Not even the fresh shower helps you understand what's going on. With you or with Dacre. Climbing into bed, you feel the wind invading the bedroom, but you're too lost in thoughts to enjoy it. The truth is that you were excited to do it, to shoot that scene and finally kiss him, but now... Now you feel as you did on the first day.
The soft notification sound of your phone gets your attention. Stretching your arm, you take it. It's a voice message from Dacre. Maybe he regrets the whole first date thing and he wants you to know... It'll only make things worse, but you should know it. The sooner the better. You're a professional, and you'll manage to do your job no matter what.
Taking a deep breath, you unlock your phone, pressing play on the message and bringing the phone to your ear.
You can hear his heavy breath before any words come. It takes a couple of seconds until his voice breaks through. “I probably shouldn't say this through a message, but I think I won't be able to sleep if I don't let you know how I feel.” A pause, something falling on the background. “Tomorrow on the scene... It won't be Billy and Amy, it'll be you and me.” This makes you sit up straight, a hand in your heart as it starts beating dangerously fast. “I can't be Billy when I'm with you, when we're so close, it just... I've been breaking character every time and I never struggled so much with a character before.” His voice is heavy with sleep. “I know you've been struggling too and I have no idea why I didn't tell you all this in the car, I just... I really like you and tomorrow I'll kiss you but I didn't want our the first kiss to be like that... So I'm just letting you know when it happens it won't be Billy, it'll be me and... And I hope it'll be you too. Good night, (Y/N).”
His voice is long gone, but you keep still, frozen, eyes on the wall across the room. You can't believe what you just heard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Park did have a good idea to left Century House than usual today, not only because she was looking exhausted on the outside but for me, she was either doing it to avoid the CIA's eyes during our way back to the apartment...something that was a bit not believable for me as our paranoid attitudes were still on or because she maybe saw that I wasn't very well after she woke me up in the office but either way, she did a good choice. Me, I was still shocked by the news we learned today from Liliya...
I learned that Perseus himself had two real children who are Bellamy Petrov & Liliya Petrov that he totally forgot about them, focusing on raising me & Freya instead. That....it was shaking me down on the inside: why did he abandon them? Why only raising me & Freya instead of having them too? Why did he do this? I couldn't know the answer and my head...I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have the answer to those questions, the only person doing that is Perseus...him...and he's not around. He abandoned them, and now, he greeted them back like that, Bellamy was the only one staying in the Collective while Liliya joins the CIA.
Those thoughts stayed in my head for the remainder of the day, walking back to the apartment in the group while still watching our backs, having dinner in the dining room, playing a little game of 'Bullshit' but they were still here, now adding to that, that weird dream that could have made me cry again in front of the others, seeing that scene again from time to time and that's what caused me to get earlier in my bedroom at 10 PM while the others were continuing to play the game even if Park was showing signs of concerns.
Instead of getting undressed & laid down on my side of the bed, I decided to stay sit in front of the bed, still in my clothes, blank stare looking at the wooden door like that, having no particular expression on my face as I was trying to remove that weird dream out of my head. My hands were slightly sliding on the top of my lap to concentrate...that dream needed to go...I can't see Freya kill Park...I can't see it...
"No, Beans, you're not coming," My sort of struggle was interrupted as I heard Park's muffled voice behind the door before the handle starts to move, the door opened softly. "You've already got a bed for yourself," She said, her voice sounding normal as she stepped into the room, looking outside on the ground. "Good night, Beans," She then closes the door in front of her as the lights outside went off.
"Seems that someone wanted to come in," I scoffed as Park turned around to look at me
"Yeah, don't have enough place for someone else on our bed, right?" She admitted, winking at me with her left eyebrow before a look of questions was seen on her face. "I thought that you will be already under the blanket," She narrowed her eyes, her hands that were almost going to take her shirt off
"I couldn't, had to...get something off," I breathed as my eyes closed for one second...enough to see the exact moment when that gunshot in the dream went off, watching Park's face..."That dream again as you maybe thought," I told her.
"The...the same one you talked about a little earlier that day?" She presumed, her hands moving away from her shirt as she kneels in front of me, looking worried.
"Yes..." I snorted, passing my left hand below my nose after that. "I'm having flashes of you getting shot in the chest by Freya," I explained, my eyes looking down as I fear to see her face...and the expression she used in that dream that was terrifying me.
"Why you didn't tell me before?" She asked, worried in her voice as her right-hand starts to move near my face as I could see.
"I didn't want you to be stressed & afraid about me," I replied, my lips barely moving to say those words.
"Yiri, you know that you can say everything," She confided, feeling the cold side of her hand slowly caressing my left cheek, removing along the way the hair that was on the cheek.
"I know but I'm not sure if I can really say anything about that...nightmare," I chuckled, her thumb passing below my left eye as a little tear came out of it. "You don't want to know," I muttered.
"Please, tell me...tell me..." She demanded in a pleading voice as her other hand moved on my face on the other cheek.
"You're sure, you...are sure?" I questioned her and she nodded without any hesitations on her face, her eyes looking sad...I needed to tell her.
"Just tell me, it'll be fine," She affirmed in a low voice, awaiting for me to speak about that dream.
"Okay, I...I was in a sort of bedroom, dressed up in a black suit. " I started, trying to keep a straight face for Park to look at her. "Someone called me out and as soon as I left...I found myself...in a place that was making a wedding on a cliffside," I continued.
"A...a wedding?" Park whispered, keeping her hand on me as I nodded to her.
"Yes and..." I took a deep breath, wondering what she could say after the next parts. "You were there...dressed in a white wedding dress," I revealed, Park's eyes going all wide, the palms of her hands staying on my face. "Standing below an altar, asking me to come next to you and I did, we were alone at that moment and after a few seconds....it happened," I continued, looking away from her as I saw that expression again for real.
"A wedding dress?" Park was sounding more confused & astonished at what I said, maybe believing that I was joking but that first part took over with the seriousness of my voice.
"I tried to help you to stop the bleeding but Freya was shouting at me, saying that I was hers, that you never loved me and..." I stopped myself to take a little breath, not looking so well right now. "And then, it was done..the last thing I saw was you, your body all limp...dead..." I added before closing my eyes, making a silent cry.
"I'm sorry, Yirina, I'm sorry," Park apologized as she wrapped her arms around my shoulders, my head against her own left shoulder, silently crying...It wasn't her fault at all, it never was..."If only...if only..." She tried to say before she stops herself in her words, not saying anything else.
"You did what you have to do, it was not your fault," I told her, my voice muffled by her shoulder as her hands around me stayed. "I love you, that's the main thing," I confirmed, her right hand moving behind my head who got on her shoulder.
It wasn't her fault...it never was...
We stayed in that position for about 5 minutes, Park still hugging me on the end of the bed before she got up back at her feet, feeling myself a little better with that dream slowly going away to get undressed, allowing me to do the same before I installed myself right under the blanket at my side of the bed, watching Park undressing slowly but surely not like I did before she moved to get on the bed with me.
"You're okay, Yiri?" Park asked as she got the blanket on her, me looking away in another direction from her.
"Yeah, I just...try to sleep now," I responded in a low voice, my eyes struggling to not get close for the moment.
"Yirina?"
"Yes?" I demanded.
"Uhm...in that dream...how I was in that...wedding dress?" She asked me in a curious & positive voice, feeling that need to think positively on a small part of that dream. "You said that it was white, how I was in it?" She added.
"You were...so damn pretty, looking so well on you," I replied with a big smile on my face, just to think about it before I could feel her hands on my chest for a cuddle as she got closer to me, leaving no longer space between us.
"Thanks," She said, landing a kiss right behind my neck, and then, she stayed near me, her hands wrapped around my chest.
I continued to smile about it, my hands going above hers as I was now seeing in front of my eyes, only Park dressed in that wedding dress...looking so damn pretty, so...lovely. This was the best thing I saw in days and it was giving me a little smile to think about it...how I can propose to her? And when I would be able to do this? It's with those questions that I closed my eyes to get some needed sleep...
"What does Portnova wants with me?" I said to myself as I was sitting on the hood of a blue car, smoking a cigarette. The view in front of me was a big river and from afar, I could perceive Moscow, meaning that I was sure one or two kilometers from the city by looking at it. The night was surely making the landscape looking much better but to say, I was nonetheless freezing even with a leather jacket around me.
The whole place around me was nearly silent: no wind knocking against the trees, only hearing the water hitting the side of the river, and the radio inside the car that was still turned on along with the car front lights enlighten up slightly a part of the river. I wanted to have some silence so I moved away from the hood to open the front door of the car and shut off the radio, making a relieving breath when I do it.
It was after I closed the front door that another light arrives on the scene, hearing a car driving on the dirt path leading here as I saw, without been blinded by the light of the incoming car, Portnova alone, driving it before she parked it alongside my car, shutting down everything including the lights of it.
"Sorry for my late," She started first the conversation, getting out of the car as she was wearing a black leather jacket with a red scarf and blue jeans.
"That's okay, I arrived here only a few minutes ago," I exclaimed, throwing at my feet the cigarette to crush it down as she closed the door of her car. "You know, we can talk at your place or in mine, no need to go to an isolated place," I complained about that.
"I know but I couldn't go to your place without having Zasha around," She explained in a sort of joking voice. "I needed to talk with you alone and not with Zasha," She clarified, walking to get in front of me, looking a bit unsure on her moves.
"What about?" I asked, sitting again as I was minutes ago on the blue car's hood.
"Well...Uhm...how do you feel?" She demanded, looking down at her black boots, maybe thinking that she was uncomfortable to ask that from me.
"Right now, I'm good," I replied in a good voice, suddenly feeling the whole lie I did say as she looks at me with a raised eyebrow, holding her left arm with her right hand. "No...not so fucking great," I confessed, my hands on the car hood behind me. "With the situation getting out of hands and our wishes to defect, nothing can be good,"  I clarified, my right hand moving to scratch the back of my head.
"And what about Freya?" She questioned me, taking a step towards me.
"Her? She started to cheat on me with someone else that I don't know, she doesn't know that I know but I can't afford to tell her,"  I answered, tapping my two index fingers on the car, a little stressed about myself. "If I had to defect without her, so be it," I whispered, Portnova arriving near me.
"You know, Zasha told me about some...things from before," She said, getting my attention on her by turning my head around to look at her. "Is that true, you two...were in a little relationship before...years ago?"
"Yeah...they should have told you that after they got their panic attack days ago...when Dedov left," I presumed, looking away from her towards the river and the city on the horizon. "We swore to not talk about it but things changed, right?" I told her, shaking my head to think about the situation.
"I know, that was indiscreet from me to..."
"Ask me about it? That's okay," I cut her gently in her words, having guessed what she will say to me before. "That couldn't stay hidden deep forever," I snorted as Portnova decided to get sit next to me on the hood.
"I'm sorry in case if it brought you back memories that..." She tried to say before she stops herself, thinking that I was going to stop her by myself, now both looking at the horizon, without saying any words. "The two Yirina's talking about things...that's funny," Portnova spoke up after at least 30 seconds of silence between us.
"What were the odds that two people called Yirina will be friends and working together in the KGB in the same section?" I scoffed, breaking out a laugh that was looking so weird with that whole situation around us. "Yeah...that's funny," I admitted with a laugh, crossing my arms.
"My parents never wanted me to join the KGB, it was my teachers at the university who told me that I was good in cryptography," She confessed to me, having a smile on the left corner of her lips. "I want to wonder how my life could have been if I followed my parent's advice than my teacher's ones,"
"I don't know, you wouldn't have met me...or Zed," I suggested as the thoughts of another life came to me too. "Me; I would have like to...teach...or travel the world without having to carry a gun every day with me," I said.
"Things that we can't actually come back now, right?" Portnova presumed and I sadly nodded to her. "I'm not saying that...I didn't want to meet you & Zasha but if we could all avoid being mixed in a terrorist group, that could have been better,"
"Yeah, if there weren't the Collective..." I sighed, my hands getting below my chin to hold it. "Perseus made me a KGB officer just to...just as an insider agent," I revealed to her who wasn't surprised at that. "If I didn't join the KGB, I wouldn't have met Zasha and you," I exclaimed, a bit sad to tell myself sad: meeting the best friends in a path that I didn't like to take.
"Good choices...in a bad path," Portnova muttered to herself at my words, looking away from me.
"You know, I remember the day when we first met, you were very shy and looking stressed and now, you're very different," I stated.
"I can say thanks to you & Zeze for that," She smiled at me but that smile didn't last as tears came out of her eyes. "I'm scared, Grigoriev, I'm scared," She said, her voice sounding broken & in pain. "Zed is my only reason to hold on, I can't...I can't..."
"Hey, don't cry, Portnova," I demanded, moving my arms to hug her and trying to comfort her. "It's okay, we're going to flee, it'll be okay," I reassured her but she was still crying and it was slowly making me cry in silence.
I was staying to hug her but she was still crying in my arms and eventually, my own tears started to fall down my cheeks, even wondering to myself if what I said about being fine was really true but for the moment, I couldn't know. I was just trying to comfort a friend...
We all have a reason to hold on
My eyes opened by themselves in the middle of the night after that dream with Portnova, feeling myself a bit...sad of what I lived, seeing Portnova crying in my arms, that was the first time I saw her do that for real, knowing that she was never someone to be like that but no...I saw her cry, with tears and that...it was...troubling but my eyes didn't open by themselves because of that dream but...because were making noises in the apartment.
The phone was ringing permanently outside of the room and it wasn't stopping at all. I checked up my nightstand to see the time it was: 2:30 AM...and someone was trying to call the apartment at that time...for fuck sake, at 2 AM! I seriously thought at first that someone else than me will go to answer the phone but eventually, that wasn't going to be the case at all as I was the only one here awake to notice that.
It's with a big sigh that I woke up after getting Park's hands gently off me to get up from the bed, not taking the time to get dressed just to go answer the person that was constantly trying to call here. I opened the door, turning on the necessary light and meeting Beans who meowed at me, still not asleep before I join the phone in the living room.
"Yes?" I sighed, picking up the phone and using the most annoying voice that I have ever used in my life, adding a yawn to it.
"Thank god, finally," I was surprised when I heard Sarah's voice, the one working in Zasha's team through the phone, sounding very panicked.
"Sarah?" I whispered silently. "Why are you calling here, at Zasha's place at... 2 AM?" I asked her directly.
"Listen, I'm...I'm at Peter's place, he...shit, he killed himself!" She revealed to me, sending chills & freezing my blood at hearing those words. "Peter's death, he's...fuck...I don't know what happened but...you need to get over here now," She demanded, using the same voice she used when I first heard her.
"Wait, where is Peter's place located?" I asked her, trying to look around to find something to write on, found on the small table, a white pen & a small piece of paper.
"In the City of Westminster district, I needed to check him because I was going to tell him that I had feelings for him but...fuck...let me give you this precise address," She said before she starts to give me Peter's address, writing it on the piece of paper.
"What's happening?" I almost jump scared when I heard Park's voice coming into the room, wearing a simple shirt and nothing on her legs, sounding worried as I gestured for her to stay silent for a second.
"It's good, Sarah, I got it," I spoke up after I was done writing the address on the paper.
"Thanks, now..." She started to say before I heard a loud crash through the phone, like something falling on the ground. "Hey, fuckers, get off me...FUCK OFF!" I heard her shout in rage before the phone hanged up by itself, leaving me alone.
"Fuck!" I whispered before I turned around to Park, having to announce what I learned and what happened in a few moments from me...the situation just getting fucking worse... "Peter Furnill killed himself and Sarah, she has been kidnapped by someone before the phone hangs up, she gave me his address," I announced to Park who couldn't believe it.
"Bloody hell!" She roared, looking down at the ground as she was leaned with her left fist against the wall near the hallway leading to every room of the apartment before she got off, clenching her both fists...
"Dammit, let's get dressed now!"

Your phone ringing suddenly was startling as you sat by yourself in your room, a book in your hands as you reached for the phone, confused as you saw the caller was marked unknown, you hesitated before answering, hoping it wasn't a telemarketer. "Hello?" You asked softly, putting your phone on speaker and setting it back down on the bed. "__?" A familiar voice asked, making you furrow your eyebrows in confusion. "Jimin?" You asked, picking the phone of the bed and taking it off speaker as you brought it to your ear. "Hi ___." Jimin's voice replied, making you smile softly. "Hey Jimin! It's been a while, how are things?" You asked, standing up from your bed and walking around absentmindedly. "Uhh, they're good I guess, how are you?" He asked, his voice sounding hesitant. "I'm alright, is everything okay? Why'd you call?" You asked, before cringing softly. "Not that it's a bad thing, it's great to hear from you, and you can call whenever, I just want to make sure everything's okay." You said softly, hearing him laugh on the other end. "Yeah, well, sort of. Umm, I'd hate to spring this all on you over the phone-everyone's okay." He added quickly. "Can we talk? Like in person? It would be easier to explain." He said softly, and you couldn't deny the drop in your stomach as you grew nervous. "Uhh yeah." You replied quickly. "I'm not doing anything, do you want to meet at the café? Near the library? I can be there in ten minutes." You asked, beginning to put your shoes on as you felt nerves eating at you. "I'll be there in five."
You smiled as you saw Jimin, letting the café door close behind you as he stood up from his table, and you saw five other boys sitting where he had got up from. "It's great to see you." You sighed into Jimin's shoulder, it had been a long time since you'd seen any of them, and being back with them made it seem like you'd never left in the first place. "Is everything okay? You sounded nervous on the phone." You said softly, hugging each of the boys before sitting down, and realizing Jungkook wasn't there. "He's okay, he's asleep at the hotel." Jin assured you quickly, seeing the panic on your face. You took a deep breath and nodded, nearly on the verge of tears as panic convinced you he was hurt. "This is actually about him, that's why he's not here." Namjoon said softly, making you nod slowly, afraid of what they were going to tell you. "He has this girlfriend. I'm not sure if you remember her-" "oh god." You sighed, running your hand over your face. How could you forget her. Georgia became Jungkook's girlfriend nearly a year before you two stopped talking, and you hated her the moment you met her. "He's still with her?" You watched the boys nod slowly. "God it's been what, two years? How has he not realized what type of person she is." You sighed angrily, when you and Jungkook were still in contact, every time she was around the two of you, she always bossed Jungkook around like he was her slave, and was threatened that you were going to try and take Jungkook from her. "Yeah, that's the problem." Jimin said softly, making your face fall. "Did she do something?" You asked, your blood boiling at the thought. You hadn't seen Jungkook in a long time, but you cared deeply for him, and the idea of her hurting him made you feel indescribable amounts of anger. "We think so." Jimin said softly, "we don't know for sure, none of use have seen anything, but we've seen signs." Jimin said quietly, you could barely hear him over the pounding of your heart against your chest.
"He's always hurt. Has a hard time dancing, doesn't like being touched, and nobody's seen him without his shirt on in months. He won't even lift it up around us, it's like he's hiding something. Something we can only imagine is-" "bruises." You interrupted Namjoon, your hands shaking in your lap as you tried to calm yourself down, but the thought of Jungkook hurt, hurt you in way indescribable. "Yeah." It was Tae answering you as they all hung their heads low, and you saw Jin wipe at his face hastily. It hurt them just as much as it hurt you. "I'm going to kill her." You said softly, tears welling in your eyes as you sniffled. "Does anybody know an area I can drive to that has mountain lions? Or like a really starved pig farm? I heard they can eat a body in nine minut-" "__" Jimin interrupted you, making you face him, his eyes as teary as yours. "We called you here, because he won't talk to us. But we thought he might talk to you. Every time we even say her name he changes the topic, nobody’s been able to even mention anything hinting at her hurting him because he shuts down." He said softly, making you sigh. "We haven't talked in over a year Jimin, things aren't the same." You replied, despite the words hurting, you thought you would be the last person he would want to talk to. "__, I've never seen Jungkook as happy around someone as he is around you. Even if it has been more than a year, you're still his best friend, and I know if he saw you again he would be just as happy as he was a year ago." Hoseok said softly, each of them looking at you with pleading eyes. "She was what caused us to drift apart in the first place, he'll choose her again, and it'll just end the same as last time. He won't talk to me, it's better off just me beating her a-" "I know you want to hurt her, believe me, we all do, but that's not going to solve anything with him." Namjoon said softly, and you hated that he was right. "Losing you was the worst thing I've ever seen Jungkook go through. If he had you, he wouldn't let it happen again." Jimin said softly, and you sighed, "Alright. I'll try, but if he doesn't talk to me-" "then you get to beat her ass. I'll even drive you to her myself." Namjoon said softly, and you smiled.
The room was silent as you let the door close behind you, seeing Jungkook asleep on his bed, you smiled at how tiny he looked, and slowly crept over to him, careful to not wake him up. You knew it would take more than a few floorboards creaking. Living with the boys gave Jungkook a sleeping immunity to soft noises, and you were grateful for that. You sat down on his bed slowly, and brushed his bangs out of his face. It looked more sullen, clinging to the bones more than it had the last time you had seen him, less full of life. "Oh Kookie, what has she done to you." You whispered to yourself, your heart breaking as he mumbled in his sleep, his eyes moving underneath his eyelids. You didn't want to wake him up, he looked too peaceful. Sighing in defeat, you knew you had to, you couldn't help him if he was asleep. "Kookie." You said softly, brushing more hair out of his face as you lightly bumped his shoulder. "Jungkook." Your voice was a bit louder now, your hand still on his cheek as his eyes fluttered, but stayed closed. "Jungkook." You sang his name, nudging him again, you watched his eyes open slowly, blinking to adjust to the light. Until he saw your face. "Oh my god." He whispered, sitting up quickly, a smile wide on his face as he looked at you, letting his eyes trail over your body as if questioning if you were real. "Hi." You smiled, pain in your chest at the sight of your old friend. He yelled your name suddenly and you were thrown down onto the bed, his arms and legs wrapped around you and hugging you tightly to him. "I missed you too." You laughed softly, turning to face him with a wide smile on your face, he looked so content as he held you, his eyes closed, bangs in his face, his whole body latching onto you, it almost made you forget why you were there. "I missed you a lot." You mumbled softly, running your fingers through his hair again, you wanted to stay like this forever. "Why are you here?" He asked, finally letting go of you so the two of you could sit up.
"I was tired of not having my sun in my life." You said softly, unable to keep yourself from putting your hand in his hair again. You watched his cheeks run pink as you brushed the bangs out of his face. "The new album is so good Kookie I'm so proud of you." You said softly, wanting nothing more than to see his smile again. "I can't believe you're here." He breathed out, grabbing your hands and holding the both of them in his lap, refusing to let go of you, as if afraid the second you weren't in his hands you would leave again. "I know." You said softly, smiling as you squeezed his hands tightly. "We should have an us day. Just the two of us, we can see a movie, go to a nice restaurant, there's a new bowling alley, let's just hang out, just us for a day?" You asked softly seeing the excitement in his eyes. "Yeah! I'd love that!" He smiled wide, making you smile, until you saw him hesitate. "I umm, I have to call someone-" "I know Jungkook, it's alright. Jimin told me you're still with Georgia, you don't have to hide it from me." You said softly, seeing obvious guilt in his eyes as he nodded, and pulled out his phone slowly, clearly hesitant as he clicked on her contact and swallowed thickly as the phone began ringing. "H-Hey, a friend is in town, and we were going to hang out today, just like, see a movie or something. I just wanted to let you know so you didn't like, come to the hotel room or something and not find me there-" he forced out a laugh, and your blood boiled as you heard her voice screaming at him. "O-Okay, yeah. Got it, right. Okay. Okay. Bye." He hung up the phone and kept his back to you as he tossed the phone onto his bed. "I umm, need to change, are you okay just waiting here? I'll only be a few minutes." He promised, and you nodded. "Take as much time as you need Kookie." You said softly, sadness overwhelming you as he collected an outfit and stepped into the bathroom.
He was right when he said only a few minutes. You wiped at your eyes hurriedly as he stepped out and feigned a smile. "Hey." You said softly, standing up off the bed as he smiled at you, only for his smile to fall as he saw you. "Were you crying?" He asked, putting his hand on your cheek, wiping away a stray tear as you feigned another smile. "Yeah, but it's just from those sad videos, you know the ones, where the dad or mom comes home from the army and sees their kids? Gets me every time." You lied, wiping at your face as he nodded, smiling at you again as he grabbed his phone and jacket. "Ready?" He asked, and you nodded, taking his hand as he led you out of the hotel.
"I missed this." Your voice was soft as you looked at Junkook. He was sitting across from you, the two of you at an ice cream parlor, sitting in a booth as you ate your dessert. "I missed this too." He replied, smiling at you from across the table, "so, how are things?" You asked softly. "How are things with the boys? With your-" you waved your hand and he pursed his lips softly. "The boys are good." He nodded with his words, "and, umm she's good. How are you?" He asked the last part quickly, wanting to change the subject, and the fear in his eyes made your heart shatter. "I’m good. I'm in an apartment now, new roommates, I'm thinking about getting a pet." You said softly, wanting to change the subject, the pain in his eyes was too much to look at for so long. You needed to see his smile again. "Ooh, what type of pet?" He asked, his mood lifting as you smiled. "I was originally thinking a bunny, but now that I've got you back in my life, I don't think I need two." You smiled wide as he hid his face behind his hands. "You can't say things like that!" He laughed softly. "And why not?" You giggled, pulling his hands back, you saw his face completely red as he looked away from you. "Because it's cheesy, and makes me blush." He huffed, making you smile wide. "That's the point." You laughed as he nudged you playfully. "I really did miss you so much Jungkook." You said softly, setting your hand on the table, he set his on top of it and smiled softly. "I missed you so much too. Please don't ever make me lose you again." He mumbled softly. You smiled and ran your thumb over his hand. "Promise." You said softly, "promise." He replied, the smile back on his face, only to be startled as someone suddenly hit your table, making it shake, and causing Jungkook's ice cream to spill onto his shirt. "I'm so sorry!" The person apologized, Jungkook stood up suddenly, grabbing at napkins as he tried to wipe it off, panic in his eyes, and you knew it was an expensive shirt, "oh, I have a spare shirt in my car! I'll be right back." You told him, grabbing your keys off the table you hurried to your car and saw a shirt sitting in the backseat, it was Jungkook's, and despite the pain it's caused in the last year, you were now grateful you hadn't had the strength to get rid of it. You hurried back into the parlor and saw Jungkook still trying to wipe it off. "Come here." You told him, taking his hand you dragged him to the bathroom, and locked the door behind you. It was a one person bathroom and you were grateful as you turned to Jungkook. "Take that shirt off, put this one on, I'll wash that off with water, hopefully that'll keep it from staining until we can get it properly washed okay?" You said softly, watching panic cross his eyes, and he played with the hem of his shirt nervously. "I won't look, I promise." You said softly, turning away, he hesitated, before beginning to pull the shirt over his head. Glancing in the mirror, your face fell in horror as you saw the purple and black marks littering along his skin. The boys were right. He was hiding bruises. He quickly pulled the old shirt over his head and handed the one covered in ice cream to you, and you began washing it off. He stood behind you awkwardly, crossing his arms over his chest as you scrubbed at the shirt. "I don't think ice cream stains thankfully." You said softly as you began to ring it out. "I still think getting it washed would be a good idea, but it should be alright." You smiled as you turned to hand it to him, and he nodded thankfully, taking it from you, he crossed his arms over his body nervously, and you opened the bathroom door, and walked back to your car with him behind you.
"There's so many." Your voice was barely a whisper as you wiped at your eyes, sniffling as you sat across from the boys. You texted Jimin, telling him you needed to talk to them, and you all sat in Jungkook and Taehyung's hotel room, while Jungkook gave his shirt to the dry cleaners. "I haven't had the chance to bring it up. I barely even mentioned her and he looked so upset. I'm sorry, I just can't do it today, not when he gets that scared. Tomorrow, I will. I promise, I just don't want him shutting me out again." You sniffled, wiping at your eyes hastily as the boys nodded. "She's out of town, she shouldn't be back until Tuesday." Jimin said softly, and you sighed in relief, that gave you two days. "Okay. I'll talk to him by then, I promise. But if she shows up-" "trust me ___, we're all feeling that way right now." Hoseok said softly, his fists clenched in his lap as you nodded, swallowing thickly, you all jumped suddenly when the door opened and Jungkook peeked his head in, "Hey, everything okay?" He asked softly, still halfway in the doorway. "Yeah. I was just showing them that soldier video I was telling you about. The one that made me cry earlier." You smiled weakly, watching him nod slowly, before wincing, and stepping inside, you glanced away for a second, glancing at Jimin, only to look back and see Jungkook wasn't alone. You stood up suddenly, Tae and Yoongi standing up with you, and Namjoon stood up slowly, holding his hand out to the three of you. "I thought she wasn't coming back until Tuesday." Jimin said softly, the calmest one in this situation as he stood up as well. "Came home early. Just couldn't wait to see my oppa!" Georgia smiled wide, making you take a sharp intake of breath, and Namjoon grabbed your hand softly. "Hey Jungkook, can I talk to you for a second?" You asked softly, making the boy glance up from the floor, he nodded and you walked over to him, "is it something you can say to the both of us?" Georgia asked, crossing her arms as you opened the door. "No." You snapped, grabbing Jungkook and leading him to the hallway. You were still in the doorway however when she grabbed the door to keep you from closing it. "I don't feel comfortable with you sneaking around with my oppa without me, I know your history, so whatever you say to him you can say to me!" She snapped. You let go of the door and stepped to the side, she smiled and walked into the hallway, reaching for Jungkook, but you pulled him from her reach. "Go to the lobby or the only thing you're going to be uncomfortable with is my foot up your ass." You sneered, watching fear flash in her eyes as she huffed and turned away, doing as you told her, and you led Jungkook to the stairwell.
The night was silent as you and Jungkook sat next to each other, sitting on the curb, the dim lighting from the hotel pool illuminated his face as he stared at the ground, his eyes conflicted as you searched for your words. "Jungkook..." You started, struggling to hold back tears as he faced you, "Do you remember the last thing I told you? Before everything happened, when we were saying goodbye?" You said softly, watching him nod as you took a shaky breath. "You're too good of a person Kookie, and that scares me, because I know one of these days someone is going to hurt you, and you're not going to know why it's not okay." You repeated your past words, words you told him the last time you had seen him. "I meant it, and I always told myself, you're not a baby, you can handle yourself, I don't have to look out for you, you know right from wrong, you know friends from foe, you're so damn smart, and you're going to do great in this world, and I was right." You sniffled, tears falling past your eyes. "You aren't a baby, and you do know right from wrong, but you're a literal fucking ball of sunshine, and you trust people so easily, and you can't tell when someone is hurting you, because you don't see people's faults, because you have such a heart of gold, all you see is the beauty of someone's soul, and even when their soul is dark and evil, you still see good in them, and you're such an amazing person Kookie, but I can't sit back and watch you be around these evil people, and let them convince you and you are the one with the faults." You cried, your heart breaking as he looked at you through confused eyes, “__, is this about the boys? You know them so well, you know they would never do anything to hurt me, everything’s playful, we just shove each other around-“ “this isn’t about the boys Kookie.” You said softly, a tear slipping past your eyes as he looked at you through curious eyes and you took a shaky breath.
"I know she's gotten in your head. I know she's made you fall in love with her, and I know that she's made you think you are the problem. But Jungkook you are fucking flawless, there isn't a single problem with you, and it's her, she's sunk her claws into your skin, and she's hurting you." Your voice broke, and he looked away. His hands shaking in his lap as you took a shaky breath. "I know it's hard to do things like this on your own, but the boys and I are going to help you okay? I just need you to let me. I can't help you without you helping me too. I saw the bruises Jungkook, I know-" he stood up quickly before you could finish, his breathing uneven as he ran his hands over his face, struggling to collect his emotions. "N-No, it's not what you think, I-I just made her angry, it was my f-fault, she has anger issues, and I know that, a-and I-" "Jungkook stop making excuses for her!" You grabbed his arms suddenly, watching him flinch as you sniffled and loosened your grip, seeing the fear in his eyes as you held onto him unintentionally harsh. "It was not your fault. She hurt you, and that's not okay. That will never be okay. Jungkook please, listen to me, shes hurting you, she needs to go away, you need to get away from her. You need to be by yourself, to be surrounded by people that aren't going to hurt you like this, by people that care about you. Me and the boys, we want to help you. Please, let us." You begged. He refused to face you, and started pacing, running his hands through his hair as he shook his head. "Jungkook what if I had a boyfriend, and he was hitting me?" You asked, watching him stop suddenly.
"What if you saw me with a wrist brace, and a black eye, and he had hit me because I accidentally knocked over a vase, or burnt some noodles, what if you saw me in pain because I was in love with someone, and I thought they loved me back, but they just loved having a punching bag around. What would you do? Would you let me go home with him? Would you let me stay in a relationship with him, knowing he was hurting me, and he had brainwashed me to think he loved me?" You choked out, watching him choke out a sob as he kept his back to you. "A bucket of thorns is not worth a single rose." You said softly, taking a step closer, seeing his shoulders shaking as he cried. "Please Jungkook, let me help you. This isn't your fault. Nothing is your fault. You're the victim here, not her." You said softly. Reaching out, you touched his back softly. He flinched slightly at the touch, but didn't move. You wrapped your arms around him softly, and at the touch he fell to his knees, crying, you fell with him, and held him tighter, holding him with your entire body, you rested your head on his, more tears passing your eyes as you kissed the side of his head softly. "I'm going to help you." You whispered. "I'm going to help you heal, because you've been through too much pain, and it has been nobody's fault but hers. You deserve the world Jungkook, and I'm going to make sure you get nothing less." You promised he didn't reply, but he didn't need to, letting you hold him, was all you needed, and you held him for as long as he needed.
Your face was set as you walked down the hallway. You were heading back to Jungkook's room, the boy trailing slowly behind you, his hand held tightly in yours, his eyes watching his feet as he walked. You were taking him to the boys, and planning on dealing with her alone. You reached the room and knocked on it, the door swung open almost immediately, and you saw Jimin looking back at you. You nodded slowly, and he grabbed Jungkook, hugging him tightly as the boy cried silently, wrapping his arms tightly around Jimin, the other boys joined the hug, each of them holding Jimin as tightly as they could and crying together, you were grateful they were here, and nodded to Jimin as you stepped out of the hotel room, startled as you saw Georgia staring at you expectantly, barely a foot away. "What's going on?" She snapped, her voice making the boys jump, and you saw panic flash through Jungkook's eyes as he tried to step forward, but Hoseok stopped him. "I'll tell you what's going on." You smiled forcefully as you turned to face her, "you're going to walk your ugly ass to your car, get your trashy ass in, and drive as far away as possible, or I'm going to beat your ass into a pulp, right here, right now. And don't even think about ever contacting Jungkook again, got it? Good." You sneered, making her scoff "I'm sorry, just who do you think you are?" She sneered, making your blood boil as you stepped forward, but saw Namjoon throw you a weary glance, "Jungkook, let's go. I’m tired of being around this psychopath." She sneered. You clenched your fists as Jungkook stepped up beside you, and glanced between the two of you nervously. "Jungkook, remember what I said." You told him softly, watching panic flood his eyes as he struggled with himself . "You wouldn't let me go home, and I'm not letting you." You told him, seeing conflict in his eyes, but he nodded to you, and swallowed thickly, looking at the floor, you saw Georgia flare in anger "Jungkook. I said, we're leaving." She snapped, her arms crossed. Jungkook glanced at you nervously, before taking your hand, and raising his head. "No." His voice was shaky as her jaw dropped in shock, and she glanced at your and his intwined hands. "Make a choice." She sneered, shaking her hair off her shoulders. "Me. Or her." She said sharply, and Jungkook swallowed thickly. "Her. I will always choose her over you." He answered, his face set as he stood at his height, despite the slouching you'd seen him doing, making himself smaller.
The next moment was a blur. The sight of Jungkook's head snapping to the side, her hand the one forcing it, the sound of Tae grabbing Jungkook, Jin yelling your name as you threw her to the floor, you saw red as you hovered over her. You didn't feel the pain in your fists as you punched her repeatedly, you heard unintelligible shouting, the boys and any other hotel guests stepping out of the rooms searching for a source of the commotion, and you finally felt Hoseok pull you off of her. You were shaking as you finally heard their voices, Jimin hugging Jungkook, soothing him as Namjoon pressed his fingertips to Georgia's throat. "She has a heartbeat, I think. I don't really know how to do this, but she doesn't look dead, just really unconscious." Namjoon mumbled, your back hit the wall and you sunk down to the floor, your hands shaking as you looked forward, your eyes open, yet you didn't see anything as you waited. You didn't know what you were waiting for, but you waited.
The hotel room was silent as Jimin wrapped your hand, the cops came, and after watching the camera footage and seeing her swing at Jungkook first, they ruled it self defense, and you didn't get in any trouble. They were long gone now as Jimin cleaned up your knuckles, they were cut and bruised from hitting her so many times. None of the boys spoke. Jungkook had locked himself in the bathroom when everything calmed down, and now, you still weren't sure if you were calmed down completely. "I had myself under control." You whispered, making all the boys face you as Jimin paused from putting gauze on your hands. "I really did, I was just going to make her leave, that was it, I didn’t want to put Jungkook through that. But seeing her hit him-“ you broke off, taking a shaky breath “seeing the bruises, and the pain she had already caused him was one thing, but seeing her hit him like that, as if he meant nothing, I saw red. I couldn't even hear you guys until Hobi pulled me off. I would've killed her." You said softly, your eyes concentrating on the wall in front of you and the boys nodded. "Any of us would've." Jimin said softly. You sniffled, thanking him as he finished wrapping your hands, and flexed your fingers, wincing at the pain, and set them in your lap. "Thank you." Jin suddenly said, making you face him. "For helping him when we couldn't. We weren't who he needed to hear it from, and I'm grateful he had you to help him." He said softly, and you feigned a smile, "I'm glad I could help him. I don't know what I would've done if he chose her." You shook your head, jumping suddenly as the bathroom door opened, and Jungkook stepped out, his head hanging low as he played with his fingers. You stood up slowly, hesitating, you walked over to him. He glanced away, but you put you hand on his cheek, and his eyes met yours. His cheek red, but he still offered you a weak smile, and you wrapped your arms tightly around him. He hugged you back, sniffling softly as he rested his face in the crook of your neck. You heard the other boys stand up, and all join the hug. And in that moment, you promised both yourself, and Jungkook, no one would ever hurt the either of you again, and would never come in between you.
"I don't think I ever really loved her." Jungkook's voice was soft as you turned to face him. "Who?" You asked, sitting up and leaning on you elbow as you watched him do the same. "Her?" You asked, he nodded in response. "I can't remember a time I ever loved her. I liked her, at first, but it was right after we had broken up, I think it was more of a need for something to fill the void than it was an attraction." He mumbled, making you suppress a smile. "You had a void when we broke up?" You asked, causing a blush rise to his cheeks, "of course I did. We weren't the same after it, everything felt too awkward, and it's you, there's always a void in my life when you're not there." He admitted, and you felt your heart swell inside your chest. "I have a void without you too." You told him, "I know what you mean, us not being the same. I felt like we were too afraid of each other. We were terrified of the idea of losing each other, we pushed ourselves apart until we did." You mumbled, he nodded, knowing you were right. "And she obviously didn't help, but I mean, we're here now, and that's what matters right? It's been a month since I came to your hotel room, and it already feels like we were never apart, that's what matters." You said softly, watching him smile as he laid back down. The two of you were on a grassy hill, the night sky shining full of stars above you. Having snuck away from the boys to watch the sun set, and just be with each other. "That's exactly why we broke up." He snorted, you laughed softly and nodded, knowing he was right. "We get in such a good place, and then convince ourselves something is going to go wrong, and every time we fall for it, and it makes things worse." You sighed, running your hand over your face irritably. "I promise I won't let it happen anymore. I don't think I'd survive if I had to lose you again." He mumbled, staring at the sky as you laid down next to him. "I can't lose you either." You replied, staring at him as he sighed, opening and closing his mouth a few times, unsure how to word his feelings, before finally sighing and closing his eyes. "I still love you." The words were barely a whisper as they passed his lips, and you smiled wide. "I still love you too." You said softly. Your response made him face you as he grabbed your hand softly, intwining your fingers with his, and you two laid in the silence, not needing anything other than each other, and not wanting anything else than what you had beside you.

She stumbled in as another strong gust of wind pushed her into the building, the left double door caving in and flinging open, banging against the wall. The sudden slam echoed into the living room and empty space, causing her to grimace and scramble to close the door. So much for stealthy.
The chilling sounds of an oh so familiar cartoon reached her ears. She averted her gaze to a nearby wall as she shut and locked the door behind her, feeling the harsh breeze rattling the doorknob as she did so. She could hear the show, but at the same time she could somehow still see the up and down jerky mouth movements of the ship on the screen, that horrible horrible laugh. She had a bad rep with the show, having watched one episode as a kid, that kind of cut cable from her family forever. It was just a fucking show, but dear god it was sickening, especially the character, the skin taker. His mouth movements weren't particularly pleasing, he grinded his teeth left to right instead of the normal way a puppet should, up and down.
After her silent and short lived panic cooled down, she brushed herself off like something had stuck to her whilst she had made her way to the mansion, that wasn't the case, every hair was in place, not a single thing had ruined her appearance, because she was perfect. She strived to be the embodiment of perfection.
Ever so casually, she heaved the heavy backpack off of her shoulders before slinging it onto one of the rings of the sturdy coat rack, testing the stability before letting go and turning her head towards the three or so figures hanging on the couch, watching-that show. It should be static to her by now, right? Right?
She narrowed her eyes at the characters, trying to identify them with what little light shed onto their figures from the soft luminescent glow of the screen, then-it clicked. Sideburns, Ashy, and Goggles McGhee. Three of whom she didn't exactly interact with-well, what do you expect, with the higharchy of this damned mansion, you would be a fool to even glance at the musketeers with what authority they had. She began to back away, her clammy hands folding together as a possible comfort technique.
They all seemed fixated on the small retro TV, she often wondered how the hell they got cable and electricity all the way out here, she's made a theory that there was some sort of electrical system only for pastas or something, but its an extremely weak theory. She rolled her eyes and silently scoffed, uninterested in the activity. Its safe to say she hasn't watched TV in a while, 5 years at best, considering her RV just barely has electricity, she doesn't need a TV-well, she wish she had one, sort of.
Sideburns, or Masky, to others, sat with him. It would be foolish to address a proxy as an equal, she had a silent respect for them both, strong powerful beings whom don't have to slave away with a broom every day. They're living the life-well, not exactly. She was one who was allowed to remember her past life, give or take she had succumbed to the fact she had no hope of returning to it in the future.
Suddenly, as quick as a crack of lightening, Ashy turned his head away from the screen, the black endless orbs of the mask peering into the darkness, she heard a deep inhale. What was it doing? She deemed him it for just a moment, his movements so animalistic you could actually feel the wild like aura he held. Oh god, his gaze had directed om her. He made a movement with his hand, seeming to slap Sideburns on the shoulder with the back of his hand, causing Sideburns to startle a bit before glancing back over his shoulder. Well, this is-she didn't know what to call it. Disturbing? Unnerving? She didn't like the position she was in, then-Ashy began to rise from the couch, he began to speak-there was a raspy undertone in his voice, like he doesn't use it a lot, something seemed to creep from his words, something slimy and black with a bunch of tiny legs.
"Who are you."
It seemed more like a demand then a question, she flinched on instinct as she felt eyes almost immediately peer towards her in the darkness.
"Your dad, im back with cigs"
Ashy seemed to be narrowing his eyes-or lack of, definitely lack of, on her. She swollowed the hard forming lump in her throat as she tried to turtle into her clothes, seemingly phased by the cold glare that the being was somehow directing at her.
She froze in place, only then realizing that she was backing away, the heels of her boots scuffing the peeling yellowed hideously wallpapered wall behind her as she drew her arms to her chest, her head lowering to cover her neck in case the figure went for a punch to her throat. How does someone answer that?
"Hey, my name is Trinity, im the fucking maid who washes the skid marks from your undies, good luck holding a proper conversation with me because the only thing I want to talk about is how fucking horrible my job is, I hadn't had proper social interaction in, like 5 years!"
Yea, that would totally work, her hand slid into her coat, fingering the Browning high power 9 mm pistol that bounced at her hip. It gave her a raw sense of empowerment, like she was a ring leader, and Eyeless jack was a lion.
"My name is Trinity. I clean up around here, I usually do it at night, but I had something to do last night and never had to opportunity."
She was mildly impressed by the steady dull flat tone she used and how she was able to speak over a mumble. She didn't get to cocky yet, how would they believe her? Did she have to whip out her bottle of Windex and cleaning rags?
"That's a nice name."
Masky was a little unamused by the female. Sure, he may not of seen her before, but no, she doesn't faze him. He blinked slowly, then looked over at Jack. Look, it'll be pretty sad seeing this gremlin of a woman try and fail to fight this hulking figure, so he decided to give her a hand and take her word for it. Most creatures couldn't pass through the mushroom circle anyways.
His voice sounded deep, as though he hasn't slept for a couple of centuries, with a bit of a smokers cough. He didn't introduce himself, who cares for casualties? His gaze darted towards Goggles McGhee , instead of soaking the drama in, the male was leaning forward, fixated on the static covered screen as if it was the most engrossing morning cartoon he's ever watched. Sideburns rolled his eyes underneath the black opaque fabric covering the eyeholes of his mask before glancing back at the gorl.
She pursed her lips together, her eyebrows knitting in confusion as the words had rolled around in her mind, slowly peacing together into a sentence, a little lightbulb finally flicked on inside her mind as she nodded slowly. "Thank you-?" It seemed more like a question, its been a while since she actually-got a compliment, you know? Because she was the embodiment of loneliness.
Ashy, on the other hand, would need a bit more convincing. If he could, he would have already tackled her to the ground and ripped out her spine from her still squirming soon to be corpse, but something was nagging him in the back of his mind, something was telling him that maybe she was telling the truth. He ignored that tiny thought, his hand sliding into the grey worn and bleach stained hoodie he adorned before fingering the warm smooth metal of the blade. It felt alive, due to how his body tempature was keeping it warm.
"I smell bullcrap."
"It's probably your upper lip."
Her gaze adverted back to Ashy, a frown tugging on her lips as she cocked her head. "Well, im sorry to hear that, would you like me to elaborate?" She held a snarky comment on the back of her tongue, it pressed against her teeth, struggling to push out before she heard the soft thump of a stuffed toy hitting a step and the pats of tiny feet hitting the smooth floorboards of the second story hall. There was a flash of a dirty salmon color in the corner of her eye before it dissapeared, She couldn't keep one eye on jack and the other on the toy, so she kept her eyes on jack, but did address the toys presence for future reference.
Jack turned his head, listening in-a giggle erupted from the hallway, high pitched and playful. Sally. Ashy couldn't see Sally, also known as button eyes-but he could smell her. She always smelt of letting meat and sugar cookies. His defensive attitude kicked in as he gripped his scalpel in a vice-like grip, bristling like an angry cat at this point “I don’t know who you are, but you don’t belong here, if you worked here over night then I'd at least would have picked up your scent.” he growled, his heart rate picking up.
His chest hurt, the goop kept streaming from his sockets, he felt his headache lightly at the back of his skull as he rolled his shoulders.
"Well, if you were able to smell me, then you'd possibly be able to smell yourself and take a bath for once, news flash-you reek of death."
The words left her mouth before she could comprehend what was happening, she mentally struggled to shovel them back down her gaping maw before it was too late, a flash of regret misted her eyes, but it was true, even from here, she could smell the rotting flesh interlaced between with teeth and underneath his nails. This seemed to silently enrage him. "Look-you, do I need to prove it? This place would be a fucking dump without me." She jabbed her thumb into her chest, her eyes narrowed into an ice spiked glare, she was going all out with this.
She felt angry, frustrated, scared, etc.... Why the hell was she even having this argument in the first place? It was clear that this person was insignificant and unimportant-no, that's not true, that's definitely not true, they were important, they were strong, they could kill her.
Sideburns looked back and forth to who was talking. The conversation was going nowhere, the two only threw threats at one another whilst also trying to gain the upper ground, it was aggravating. He blinked hard, almost shed a tear, but he's extremely dehydrated. His tiredness was getting the best of him, which is a bad thing in this situation.
"Look, how about we let her go, besides, she cleans. I mean, it's like arguing with a janitor, you're not going anywhere if they speak Spanish."
She was tempted to gasp melodramatically, how dare he compare her to a janitor-but she didn't, she kept silent, ever so slowly closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose to suppress the oncoming headache. Dear lord, save her soul, she didn't ask for this, she didn't ask for this job, it just came to her. In all honesty, she wanted to crawl into a ball and dissapear into a black endless void, she was edgy like that-no, she actually wanted to be home. She wanted to be back at home before she had moved away from college, back with her mom and three brothers, as they danced in the bare widely spaced living room to music. Those were the good times, before she changed her hair and begun to wear eyeliner and smoke pot. Before she met all her horrible wreckless teenage friends, back when she was as free as a bird.
Ashy then, at the last moment, reconsidered before  forcing himself to put his weaponry away back into the hoodie pocket it had previously resided in, such a shame he couldn’t use it today.
“If you make one wrong move or even lay a finger on Sally you won’t be so lucky...” he said with a snarl.
Jack turned his back to the woman with one final glance before turning back and giving his sleeve a sniff, even through his mask he could smell how horrid the stench emitting from his body was, his nose wrinkling in disgust. She was somewhat right, he hasn't bathed in a while.
"I'm sorry, who?"
She didn't know who this "Sally" was, perhaps it was the figure that had raced away, leaving the stuffed toy behind. She felt a bit more relaxed, give or take she no longer was an antelope dangled by the bind legs above a pit full of tigers, the corner of her mouth twitched upward, almost forming a small smile before dropping.
Thank the Lord, someone changed the channel, that droning static of candle cove was enough to make her want to rip her eyes and ears out as she envied the death. She felt a bit more clumsy now, with both her actions and her words, she needed to stay sharp, at any moment, Ashy could lunge at her and plunge that tiny little weapon of his into her gut, she wasn't a fan of dying.
"Hey, I was watching that!"
Goggles McGhee flung his hands upwards a bit before shaking his head and cussing underneath his breath. Sideburns had begun to flip through channels to see what else was on besides that creepy cartoon, he eventually landed on some sort of modeling show, the clothes they wore were hideous and it seemed that 20 gallons of hair spray held each models hair in place.
After getting little to no response, she rolled her eyes and grimaced, disgusted in her own behavior, but she couldn't help but let a sense of satisfaction and entitlement seep into her as she crossed her arms. Now then, what shall she do first? She supposed cleaning the fridge out should be what she should start off with, if she survives that, the rest of her chores would seem to be mildly easy. She turned on her heel, heading towards the kitchen with the black snakey like tail dragging behind her, whipping or flicking slightly.
Once she entered the kitchen, she noticed how dark in the room it was, considering the grime on the outside windows and the blackout curtains on the inside, her hand reached up, patting along the wall for a switch as she tried to peer through the darkness. "We're back in harmony." She muttered to herself. It was a small quote from one of her favorite books she had as a young teen, a thick novel of sorts. Finally, she found the switch before flicking it upwards with one hand, almost immedietely the bright shockingly white glare of the light above caused her to hiss and squint in distain, her hands flying to her eyes to cover them as the shock of the sudden light gradually released.
Ever so slowly, she removed her hands from her eyes, dropping them to her sides and taking a moment to review the previous events and peace together what happened. Should she apologise, should she say sorry for even being there? No, she had every right to be there, you shouldn't accuse someone of being an enemy just because you don't see them on a day to day basis. She felt slightly hurt, like she was uninvited in the only work space she had.
She shook her head quickly frim side to side, her glossy dark locks bobbing around before she shuddered. "No, im not going to do that. Risky, risky-" she didn't finish her sentences per usual, how could she? Besides, it wouldn't matter if she apologised or not,  in about 4 hours or so she could head back to her RV. In 4 hours, this would be nothing, she would go back to working at night, she would go back to the silence and solitude and peace. This was a mere ripple in her pond of routine.
It was time to get to work.
