Hello! I love your blog! Ive been trying (I know we dont try but that's the word I can think of for this rn) to manifest but I'm having a little but of an issue. I know a lot of people say think in your favor, embody the person in imagination and dismiss the 3d. And I've been but I havent received my manifestation in the 3d for months. Ive also heard people say to feel the wish fulfilled but I've been on strong medication so I can't really "feel" in a sense. I know I can manifest, I practice witchcraft but a part of me is still doubting the law. 😭 I know that's a lot and I'm sorry I was just really hoping I'd have my desires before the new year.

Because the events reference older events so for example if there’s a mixed event with emu, haruka, and mafuyu, and it references an event that happened before that for haruka but you’ve only read wxs event stories, then you may not get the reference! Event stories are what happens after the main story, the main story is basically how they got together, and the event stories are what they get up to and a lot of character development happens! After completing an event story, you will unlock some new area convos that are related to that event story! And if you watch a virtual live of an event story, then you will receive a stamp when you’re done! If an event is happening at the moment, as in right now, then watching episodes will give you 50 gems, even if you skip it! blessing season

The enemy loves to get in my head and tell me thats it’s too late too to do the things that God asks me to do. I believed for years that it was too late to start that new career, its too late to break away from unhealthy relationship and even now … its too late to start this blog. Now that being said Hi, Hello, my name Is Bethany Hope. I want to officially Welcome you to my personal blog. I Know its the end of the year but I feel a urgency to post today. i use to think my story was unique but really it isn’t. The things I am going to share on this blog are warning signs to some but are also very relatable to others. So lets get started.

There’s this terminally called cuffing season is normally used among menials and Gen Zers but everyone participates in this act. Yes even the old boomers and anyone with a pulse.

Cuffing season is done mostly in the fall and winter, it’s the time when people connect themselves to things that are below their value or convenient for the time being.

In the urban dictionary cuffing season means “ it’s a season of loneliness and desperation you settle for our relationship that’s beneath your standards”

This definition uses relationships as an example but its not about just relationships please keep reading. I want to be clear everything has consequence good and bad. Being cuffed to anything that is not christ Himself will lead to death in time. For example being cuffed to wanting to getting married is just as unhealthy as being cuffed to money the little things you do will become patterns and become big problems. I’ll come back to this in a moment.

To to make this easier to understand. Imagine my friend coming over to hang out and she asked me for a quick snack I wouldn’t go to the garbage can to grab her something to eat. Why ?? Because the garbage can is not a standard for someone to eat from. We all know how ridicules it would be if someone went to their garbage to grab you food. You and I both have a standard when it comes to food. We know no matter what we are not eating out of the trash. This Sanrio may seem like a no brainer but the “eating trash” is just an example of the real thing we settling in our lives. some examples can be love for money, wanting a relationships and or a successful career. If you’re a believer or not I want to tell you the things you are doing in just “for now” knowing its the very thing that is destroying you. you would never settle to eat trash because your hungry even if no one was watching right? keep the same standard in al areas of your life.

Im not off the hook either. Ive been in many situations that destroyed me because I was lonely, inpatient and board. I will open up on this blog about my relationships, difunctional eating and personal insecurities. I have endured lot of pain because of my own choices. Ive been bound up by shame and guilt for years. The "well sees" are never fun.

let this be a blessing season . a season that is a thirst trap or distraction a season that isn't lonely but full of life. Where God pours out peace and direction onto your life. A season that God blesses you so you can be a blessing to others. Do not be fooled by anything. Dont wonder looking for food in the trash cans. what you find is contaminated. Please do not be curious about things of the world. Ask for help, ask for prayer be honest with you self if you need help. Just like you choose what to wear everyday you choose to receive Gods guidance.

I believe everyone who is reading this God sent you to this blog this message is no mistake. God sees you and he loves you. stand tall and pray that God revels all the areas where the enemy is lying to you. read His word for guidance and rejoice that youre alive today.

He went on and starred in various shows about the Cosbys: The Bill Cosby Show the variety show The New Bill Cosby Show, and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. Many different children’s shows asked him to appear. He was loved by many and became a true father figure to America, advancing positive recognition for African Americans.

However, during the early 2000’s, women began to come forward and accuse him of sexually assaulting them and drugging them. The first woman came forward in 2005, Andrea Constand. She worked at Temple University. Charges were not filed because the district attorney did not think there was enough evidence, but Cosby did settle out of court with her as a civil case. Multiple women began to come forward after this, stating that Cosby had also raped and drugged them too. In 2015, a district attorney from Pennsylvania decided to charge Cosby on the Constand case with felony aggravated indecent assault. The court convicted him and sentenced him to 3-10 years. Cosby was in prison for three years while his lawyers worked on appeals. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania finally overturned his sentence and released him from prison.[i]

The world’s reaction to his release can be seen by the comments of many celebrities. They expressed disbelief that this was occurring and talked about how no one can say cancel culture actually hurts anyone. One woman commented “I don’t want to hear anything about how cancel culture ruined men’s lives during the MeToo era reckoning for women and survivors. How we went too far. Today’s news that Cosby’s conviction is being overturned is proof we haven’t gone far enough. Our justice system MUST change.”[iii] Cancel culture is the phenomenon where the public calls someone for acting in the wrong and shun or boycott them for it. When it first appeared, some people disapproved of it, believing it to be a weapon that “canceled” people without a judge or jury. [iv]

However, not helping the public’s image of him after his release, Cosby still had a legal battle left to fight, a court case against Judy Huth, a 64 woman claims Cosby drugged and raped her when she was 16. The trial took place in June of 2022, and Cosby was found liable. He will have to pay 500,000 in damages. What is fascinating about the trial is that the only reason Huth could bring Cosby to court is that California has a law that allows cases where minors have been sexually assaulted to try them even years later. [v]In most other cases, the statute of limitations would have been up. A statute of limitations is how long someone can be charged for a crime. For example, if someone committed a robbery and was caught 25 years later, the statute would need to be for 25 years or they could not be tried. [vi]

Similarly, to the other accusations, Cosby has denied assaulting the woman. In fact, he invoked his fifth amendment in this trial.[viii] The fifth amendment means that one does not have to speak if it could cause them to be charged in a court.[ix] In fact, Cosby’s team is celebrating this trial as a success because Huth did not win any punitive damages.[x] These are damages to punish the accused and could easily have exceeded a million dollars.[xi] Huth may not even receive the funds because Cosby and his team plan to appeal. If she does receive the funds, it will be delayed. [xii]One detail that the Cosby team will most likely use in their appeal is that the time line changed. When the case was originally filed, Huth stated she was assaulted when she was 15. However, later, she claimed to be 16 when the act occurred. This change in timeline the Cosby team believes should have had a drastic impact on her believability and also on the evidence that was presented.

Many people have been asking if this case is a big step forward for sexual assault victims. Attorneys asked on this subject have said no. Attorney’s do not think that a lot of people will be able to be successful as Huth trying cases as old as hers because of the uniqueness of the statute that made it possible and Cosby’s notoriety.[xiii]

Celebs haven’t spoken out yet about this court case and how it will affect their feelings about Cosby. However, one would think that Cosby would have to do a lot to earn America’s acceptance, if it is even possible.

I hope that when ppl view my account and talk to me online, they view me as just another person with feelings and thoughts, and acknowledge that I am no better or less than anyone else just because of things like follower count or the fact that I create art. I hope that people know that my opinions change and that I am as capable of making mistakes as anyone else and I sincerely hope that everyone takes all my advice and opinions with a grain of salt because in this vast expansion hellhole we call earth, I am just another person with no real importance and I am no one to tell you how to live your life, and you owe it to no one listen to me or like me or even care about me

so i have this problem with manifesting.. those past years i have been so depressed that i lost my idenity and idk what i like and who i am, and it makes it harder for me to manifesting since idk what i want exactly. i feel if i had this big realization/existental crisis when i found abt the law i would get my shit together or realize what i want but literally nothing has changed like idk how to benefit from knowing the law. i have tried commanding my sub for answers but i never get one.

also ive turned 17, 2 weeks ago and everyone keeps telling me that this is the last year im a kid and i shouod mature and all that and it hurts me bc i feel like i didnt enjoy my teenage years enough and i dont even have friends now and idk what to do, should i manifest friends and live the life that i wanted now in a year or slow down time like im so confused.

i also feel weird abt wanting to manifest specific things like stuff i was suposed to already have for example when i was younger i could speak russian but now i forgot and i used to be a dancer and now i cant dance and its like i wish i didnt have to worry abt manifesting it and just mentaining it yk? and the other thing js that i feel weird manifesting being pretty like yes ik i can do that but when i was little id get conpliments abt my looks and my body but now nothing and it makes me think that id get all those conpliments just bc i was little but even i was its like i lost it just the other things i mentioned earlier.. i just wish i was born pretty like the other pretty girls without having to manifest it yk?

Teaching Assistant 13

When you wake up it is the next morning. You have been transferred to a recovery room. It is quite spacious and light. Your bag and other belongings laid on a table next to your bed. An IV was in your right arm connected to a bag of fluid.

You look down and notice your left shoulder is all bandaged up. You can see some angry bruises peek out from under it. The room was awfully quiet and you felt anxious. You wanted to know what was going on. You press the call button and wait for a nurse to come and take a look at you.

A young girl walks in with a large smile on her face when she sees you. She has short black hair and a radiant smile. She seems South Asian. She takes a look at the machines on your bedside as she starts to ask questions.

“Hello. I’m Maya. How are you feeling?” You try to shrug but because of your bandaged up shoulder you can’t.

“Okay, I think. I feel really tired…” The nurse nods and writes it down on the notepad she carries with her.

“That is completely normal. You are on some really strong pain meds. The doctor will come and take a look at you in a little bit. Is there anything I can do?” You look around the room and then lock in on your bag.

“My phone. Can you plug it in so I can charge it? There should be a charger on my bag.” Maya nods and checks your bag. She pulls out the cord and your phone. She plugs it in and lays the phone on your lap. You quickly thank her.

“Anything else?”

You think for a second before you remember. You’re surprised you can. You usually try to forget this. “I have an appointment with Doctor Eric Wilson here at 4… Can you let him know I had an accident?” She assures you that she will and then leaves again.

When she leaves you quickly turn on your phone. A few spam emails pop up on the screen and a few texts. One from Dimitri and a few from Loki. You first open the one from Dimitri but as you do he calls you. You pick up and put the phone on speaker.

“Hey, you missed the first lesson. Are you alright,” he asks in a worried tone. There is some buzzing behind him. He is clearly in between classes.

“I had an accident, last night. I’m in the hospital,” you croak out. Your throat is as dry as sandpaper.

“Seriously? I’ll come right away,” he tells you and you hear him starting to walk faster to call in sick.

“Thank you,” you reply. Dimitri tells you to sit tight and that he will be there shortly. You hang up and then check Loki’s texts.

Daddyi.

Did you get home safe?

Darling?

Answer me!

Where are you?

Why aren’t you in my class?

You are in so much trouble.

Please answer me. I’m worried. Did I do something wrong? Did something happen?

Answer me or I’m coming to your flat!

The last message was only sent a few minutes ago. Quickly you call Loki up as well but he doesn’t pick up. He would probably be teaching a class right now. You leave him a voice note explaining your situation and tell him not to worry.

After that your doctor did come in and check up on you for a moment. She explained what they did in the surgery and what was going to happen afterwards. You came out reasonably unscratched for a motorcycle accident. You had a broken collarbone, a bruised rib and a small head wound. They did want to do a brain scan to make sure there was no other damage done.

You would have to receive a lot of physical therapy for it to heal properly. You would also have to wear a sling the next few weeks. The doctor asked you once again if she could call someone for you. You told her Dimitri was on his way.

A few minutes later he indeed arrived. He looked rather pale when he walked in. It must have been a bit of a worrying sight. You were in a very oversized hospital gown and all alone in the rather empty and sterile room. He sat down on the bed with you and grabbed your hand.

“How are you, babe?” He looks at you with large puppy eyes.

“I’m alright. The painkillers do their job.” You give him a short smile and then take a deep breath. You tell him you still need a brain scan and that you need to wear a sling the next few weeks. Dimitri offers to get you some stuff from home, like your laptop, clothes and other things.

When he leaves you go for the brain scan, which is frightening. The room was dark and the machine was scary. You had to lay still as the machine was scanning you. You were very happy when you got out of it.

Once back in your room Loki still hasn't replied or even seen your messages. Dimitri returned with some of your stuff. You watch a bit of a movie until he is sent out as well. You take a short nap since the anesthetic made you drowsy.

Around four someone knocks on your door. When you look who it is you are surprised it is Eric. He is the psychiatrist treating you for your eating disorder and anxiety. He was absolutely wonderful. You are so lucky to have found him! He takes a chair and sits down next to your bed.

“Hey there,” he smiles as he takes off his official doctor's coat. “You didn’t think I would skip out on you only because of a little motorcycle accident.” He gives you a funny smirk that manages to make you laugh.

“Of course not. I think I’d have to actually pass away to skip an appointment.” Eric chuckles a bit and then opens his file.

“So, how are you in regards to the accident,” he asks in a serious tone. You think for a moment and want to sit up but your shoulder prevents you from doing so. You slumb back into the pillows before replying.

“This is gonna sound strange, but I’m alright. I don’t know if it’s just the shock but I sort of needed this…” As the words leave your mouth you feel crazy. The brain scan came back clear but maybe they missed something.

“You needed a near death experience,” the psychiatrist asks you as he changes his sitting position. There is a thin frown upon his forehead.

“Yes… in a way. I tried to stay here, to stay awake. I was actively finding ways to stay here and to help the doctors. A few months ago I would have let myself drift off but I didn’t. I wanted to live,” you explain.

It was true. A few months back when you were deep in your eating disorder and filled with anxiety you had at some point nearly died. You didn’t care whether you lived or died. You just wanted your suffering to be over. Now, after some of the hardest months of your life it changed. You wanted to live. You wanted to make the most of it. You wanted to study, to graduate and make something of yourself. It was a big difference and the accident reminded you of that.

“You should be proud of yourself,” Eric agreed, “that is a big change. Although, you should not need a near death experience every time to remind you of that.” The last bit he says as a joke but it’s tinted with seriousness.

When the session is slowly coming to an end your phone rings. The screen was still upwards and the words ‘DADDY’ appeared largely on the screen. Doctor Eric looks at the phone as you quickly click it away. You look up at his confused face and wait for him to say something.

“I thought you didn’t talk to your father anymore,” he asks with suspicion written all over his face. He knows very well you haven’t talked to him since you were ten.

“I’m not,” you reply and avert your eyes from him. Loki could not have called on a worse moment. You do not want to talk about your love/sex life with your psychiatrist. The fact that this is illegal doesn’t help.

“So you’re seeing someone. Why didn’t you tell me,” he asks in a serious tone before switching to dramatics. “I thought we told each other everything.” He makes some fake crying noises and slowly slides from his chair. You can’t help but chuckle at the ethics.

“It’s still pretty new. I just don’t feel like talking about it. I didn’t think it was important,” you say, hoping Eric will stop questioning. He struggles back onto his chair and gives you a serious look. As he does you have to hang up another call from Loki.

“I know you don’t want to talk about it with an old dude like me, but I do feel like we should talk about it. You have never had a good example of relationships and you are in treatment for an eating disorder, depression and anxiety. This could turn toxic if you’re not careful.” You just stare at your therapist for a second.

“Well thank you for listing all that,” you mutter as you slide down in your bed a little more. Eric gives you an unimpressed look. “But I guess you make a point. Next session,” you suggest as you look at the clock. Your hour is over. Eric luckily agrees and then leaves the room.

When he leaves you quickly call Loki back. He answers rather fast and distressed this time. A plethora of questions immediately roll off his tongue. You quickly stop him halfway.

“Loki, I’m alright. Sorry I didn’t pick up. I was with a doctor.” You can hear him sigh in relief.

“I was so worried when I didn’t hear from you and you didn’t show up today. I knew I should have driven you home last night!” You stop him again before he starts to ramble again.

“It’s not your fault. There was a broken traffic light.”

“How are you feeling? Can I come over?”

“I’m alright. On a lot of painkillers. I don’t think you should. It would be suspicious. The doctors told me I will be discharged soon. I’ll see you then.” Loki doesn’t like the idea of you being in the hospital all alone but eventually agrees. You talk a little longer until Loki has to go home from the university.

The next two days pass by slowly. Dimitri comes by in the afternoon but the rest is rather boring. When you are finally discharged you are over the moon. Dimitri came and picked you up. He brought you home, did some meal prepping since your left arm was completely useless.

He stays over the night and helps you in the morning to figure things out. Getting dressed was absolute hell. Luckily the hospital had given you some painkillers for your arm and bruised ribs. Dimitri is also nice enough to carry your bag into college.

It was difficult to get through Loki’s class. You were craving one of his hugs and to just talk to him for a moment. You wanted to dig your nose in his neck and take in his scent. When class is finally over Loki tells you to stay behind.

You walk up to him when students leave the classroom. He starts to talk to you about work you missed and whether you would have to catch it up. Once everyone is gone Loki rushes to the door, closes it and turns the lock. He pulls down the curtain that allows you to look into the room.

When the coast is finally clear Loki immediately pulls you in for a kiss. He holds both his hands on your cheeks as he does so. You lay your good hand on his shoulder and pull him nice and close to you. When he let's go you press your body against his. You press your head in the crook up of his neck. Loki puts his arms around you in return as gently as he can. One arm he moves to your head and gently cradles it.

“I’m so happy you’re okay,” he mumbles before kissing your hair. You don’t reply but just place a gentle kiss on his soft skin.

hi!! this started out as an oc fic, but i thought i'd convert it to a reader insert!! i tried to change some of the more "explicit" oc info, so hopefully it's fine now!

pairing: zhongli x gn!reader

[Name]'s life would be nothing without order. They found a certain comfort in routines—working at the bookshop with Jifang in the afternoons, working for their less-than-legal clients once night fell. There was an odd kind of safety they found in it, in completed contracts and crossed-out bounties on a board: as they wiped the blood off their blade at sunrise, they found themself glad they no longer lived at the whims of ice, and snow, and migrating deer.

Tonight was odd, though.

A dagger twirled deftly between their fingers, and [Name] raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the informant sitting before them. A mask and hood alike obscured his face, and he seemed almost to hesitate slightly beneath their burning gaze—a newbie, then, or a fool.

"So?" they asked, their voice like a whip-crack in the silence. "Don't waste my time."

"Apologies," he said, and [Name] had to resist the urge to scoff. At another raised eyebrow the informant dug through his things and passed them an envelope.

Gingerly, they tore it open. "...Wangsheng?" they muttered to themself, before glancing back up. "I trust you have the right compensation?"

A stiff, "Of course," was their only response.

The knife between [Name]'s fingers stilled, before it became embedded in the cheap wood next to their now-client's head.

They stood, gave an almost-mocking flourish of a bow, and walked off without another word.

[Name] did not glance up from the shelf they were restocking when the footsteps of another customer coming up the stairs came into earshot, only saying a gruff, "Welcome," as they grew closer.

Their only response was a content hum, and they resisted the urge to sigh in relief that this particular patron wasn't a chatterbox.

The minutes trickled by in comfortable silence, as the man—for he was a man, [Name] learned, as soon as they looked up and towards his direction—browsed through their selection. The only sounds to be heard were the blowing of the breeze and the idle chatter of people walking past.

"What a fine collection you have," he said, and turned to face the counter they were seated behind. At the sight of his face they were thrust back into two nights ago—an unpleasant evening in a dingy old house, an envelope in one hand and a cheap knife in the other.

Not now, they thought to themself. Not now, when the blood can seep into the floorboards. The smell will hang for days.

"Thank you," they elected to say in reply. "...Will you be buying?"

He nodded, a thoughtful hand on his chin. "Indeed. The entire stock, actually."

[Name] faltered. "The entire…?" They coughed into a fist, regaining their composure and leaning forward on the counter. "That's going to cost you, sir."

They could almost see the excited sparkles around him as he opened his mouth to speak again, and whatever thoughts they had on how elegant and refined he seemed were thrown out to sea.

"Yes, of course," he began, "there truly is no treasure greater than knowledge, after all—there is a subtle nuance to the art to capturing a moment in time so vividly using just words alone…"

As he continued to ramble, [Name] rested their chin on their palm. The daggers concealed beneath their clothes were cool and heavy on their skin—a constant reminder, a subtle threat.

When his voice trailed off they gave a small, polite smile, standing upright again. "If you have the Mora, there should be nothing stopping you, sir."

The faraway, almost dreamy look in his eyes grew lucid at the mention of Mora. "Ah, of course. Mora," he said, and started patting his pockets searching for his wallet.

When neither of them heard the telltale clinking of coins, they glanced at each other almost exasperatedly.

"My deepest apologies—"

"...No, it's okay—"

The knife still burned against their skin, but they brushed it aside for a moment to grab an unwrapped copy of a book under the desk. They held it out to him, their face blank but the faintest, faintest hints of amusement dancing in their eyes.

He was…interesting. Dead men can rarely boast as much.

"Take it," they said, simply.

His eyes seemed to widen in pleasant surprise. "Are you certain?" he asked, and at [Name]'s casual shrug in the affirmative he gingerly took it from their hands.

"Thank you kindly," he said, raising the package in the air and inspecting it. "I'll have to repay you, for this."

They looked at him again, and thought of the envelope from the other night, thought of how they could almost feel his pulse as their fingers brushed just seconds prior.

"I'll hold you to it, then, sir," they elected to say.

Not now, not now, not now.

iii.

On his lips played a gentle smile that [Name] couldn't help but to distrust.

"There's a restaurant I believe you'd like," he had said. "Allow me to treat you for lunch, as thanks."

Their head had thus begun to swim with backup plans and what-ifs. Did he know? Was this some elaborate ruse to poison them? Surely not, right? They had been so careful up until now, too…

They blinked away their initial surprise and canted their head to the side. "Where?"

At that he went off onto another tangent, just as long as the ramble he had gone on a few days prior. [Name] found themself zoning out, glancing at where they knew his jugular was beneath his collar—or perhaps poison during their impromptu outing would fare better?

No, they scolded themself, there would be witnesses at a restaurant.

"...Don't worry, of course, I'll be sure to bring the Mora this time around," he said with a velvety laugh, and [Name] suddenly found themself back in the present.

They leaned forward on the bookstore counter, an eyebrow raised. "I don't even know your name, Mister Philanthropist."

Another smile graced his features, then—apologetic this time, and he outstretched a hand for them to shake. "My apologies," he said. "I am Zhongli, consultant for Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."

Gingerly, they took his hand in turn. They could feel the rhythmic beat-beat-beat of his pulse under their fingers.

Soon, they thought.

"Call me [Name]," they said, and forced themself to smile.

A few days later, it just so happened that both of their schedules were free.

"Would you still be willing to indulge me?" Zhongli asked—he had been visiting more often lately, and it just so happened that many of his visits happened to be on the days [Name] was there, as well. Jifang seemed curious, and honestly they were as well—did he enjoy their company? Was there something about their short, curt responses that didn't turn him away?

Or maybe he was planning something, too?

Nevertheless, despite their raging paranoia, it wasn't like they were in much of a position to complain. Jifang seemed content at their new, distinguished guest, and [Name] took it as an opportunity to learn more about him for the time being.

"...If you so wish," they said, plucking the book he was holding out of his hands to wrap it for him.

"Only if you do, my friend." Damn him and his deflection. "But it is my firm belief that the generous receive what is due to them, in time."

They hummed idly as they thumbed through the book he had chosen—something or other about the natural beauty of Inazuma—and then glanced back up at him.

And that was how they found themself here, they supposed.

Their table was relatively silent compared to some others, but it was by no means uncomfortable or awkward. With the idle chatter of other people and the clear sky above as a backdrop, the two dined in comforting silence—only the clinking of ceramic against each other to be heard, and to [Name]'s surprise, no traces of poison to be found whatsoever.

As the sun began to dip down the horizon, and all their food had been finished and the bill paid, the two found themselves taking a stroll down by the docks. Zhongli's gaze was trained ahead, while [Name]'s flitted about cautiously.

"Forgive me if I'm prying, however…" he began, "...But you're not a native, are you, my friend?"

A jolt, then, a bolt of white-hot fear running through their limbs. Did he know? Did they give themself away?

"I'm not," they said. "I was born abroad."

A satisfied hum was their response, and when they turned to glance at him, they found the smallest of smiles on his face.

"It's getting late," Zhongli said. "Thank you for today. I'd like to do this again, with you."

[Name] took pause at that. They thought once again of the envelope hidden under their drawers, and the knives hidden under their clothes.

They thought about the way Zhongli rambled on about whatever tale it was the storyteller across the street had spun—how "that indeed is one interpretation of it, but in the original text, the author actually meant to imply that…"

There was a pang of what almost felt like guilt in their chest, at that.

"...And I, you," they said, finally, "...my friend."

Perhaps stumbling into your supposed assassination target's home half-bloody with an arrow sticking out of your side was not the brightest idea, but in [Name]'s defense were two things: first of all, they had no fucking clue it was Zhongli's in the first place, and secondly, they couldn't exactly keep running from their angry former client with an arrow sticking out of their side.

And thus whatever levels of discretion they normally would have had were thrown out the window as they climbed into Zhongli's in the dead of night, and probably knocked something over in the process (if the new bruises were anything to go by).

(To be fair, they had been calling each other friends for a while now. Is this what friends did? [Name] couldn't be sure—their shady friends weren't exactly the best examples, after all.)

They had just sat up and groaned in pain when Zhongli came in, alarmed first at the noise and then at their sorry state.

"...Sorry," they muttered through gritted teeth. "Thought the place was empty—ow, shit! I can—I can do it mysel—"

"Nonsense," he said, his voice and hands firmer than they had noticed before. "...I still haven't repaid you for your favour to me, after all."

They stopped for a moment, at that. "...I thought the lunch was repayment?"

Somehow, Zhongli found it in himself to laugh, albeit tensely. From where they were sitting, they could see his face a lot more clearly than they had before—the tenseness in his brow, the flecks of gold in his amber irises, the way his nose crinkled at the density of the smell of blood.

"No," he replied, "that was a thank you."

They hummed, before hissing in pain again. "Pull the other way; the arrowhead went in at an angle—"

"Ah, yes, my mistake…"

[Name] continued, "I suppose this is your repayment, then?"

They only barely hid their surprise when he shook his head again.

"I'm doing this because I want to, [Name]."

(Somehow, they liked their name better when hearing it from him. Was it the timbre of his voice? Was it the appeal of hearing your name from a man who was supposed to be long-dead?)

"...I see."

As he sealed the last of the bandages and allowed them to adjust their clothes, he helped them over to what they assumed was a guest room, of sorts. He helped them to take a seat on shaky legs, and placed a firm, almost comforting hand on their shoulder.

"Promise me you'll be more careful, my friend."

They glanced away, their face oddly warm. Wasn't blood loss supposed to do the opposite? "I can't guarantee that, Zhongli."

He followed their gaze over to the floor, and then glanced back at them. "If not that, then I'd at least ask you to…rely on me more," he said, and something about the sincerity in his voice struck them as odd.

They almost wanted to burn that envelope in their drawers when they went home.

[Name] glanced back up at him, forcing themself to face his questioning gaze.

"...I'll try."

In [Name]'s life, there exists a line they do not dare themself to cross. On one side stands sweet Jifang from the bookshop, the tenacious Traveller and their friends, and the ghosts of their loved ones from Inazuma; and on the other stands themself and their other shadowy benefactors.

The first to tread the line between the two was Zhongli—who, despite the bounty on his head, still managed to maneuvre his way into them somehow being able to call him their friend.

Honestly. The Seven damn him and his stupid charisma, and his stupid voice, and his stupid encyclopedic knowledge of silk flowers.

When [Name] woke up, they were not in their home.

Through their shock they failed to register the bandages wound around their torso, and bit back a yelp of pain as the wound threatened to reopen. In the dark they could see their overwear folded neatly on the bed next to them, and Zhongli asleep, slumped over in a chair.

Suddenly, they were acutely aware of the old bone knife under their clothes—their only souvenir from home, unstained by blood for years, and years, and years.

Would Zhongli be its first, then?

Quietly they stood and dug through their folded clothes until they felt it—the uneven blade, the worn-down grooves near the hilt. They skulked their way over to where he slept, and tried to ignore how painfully peaceful his slow, even breaths were.

His eyes fluttered open just as they pressed the blade to his throat. He seemed too calm, though, not even a twitch of his hands or a hitch in his breath to give away any surprise at all. All he did was place a loose grip on their wrist—a stark contrast to their white-knuckled, shaking hand—and ask,

"What are you doing, [Name]?"

They grit their teeth. "...I'm sorry," they said, "but I have a contract to complete."

Something in Zhongli's eyes softened at that. This was his domain, they realised—contracts, and contingencies, and wordplay.

His grip on their wrist tightened, ever so slightly, and he traced his free hand over their clenched jaw. "But so do we," he replied. "I've still never paid you back, after all."

There was a pause, then—a long, pregnant silence.

"May I kiss you?" Zhongli asked, his voice like a whip-crack in the space between them. [Name] said nothing, but the crease between their brows deepened further.

The dagger embedding itself into the floor and the soft, firm press of their lips against his was enough of an answer.
