The funniest review I ever saw of one of my fics was someone being like "Ronan wouldn't hide being gay from Declan it's 2015" ghjdhfgk ah yes 2015, the year homophobia disappeared
#feel like I've made this post before but WHATEVER i just saw it again#my writing#new man#it still makes no sense to me#their other issue was that Ronan doesn't lie which I addressed in the fic#like ok don't read it?? there have been tons of fics I didn't read cause I didn't vibe with the characterisation#didn't go and bitch about them on twitter damn#esp when I clearly didn't read them???#anyway I sound mad but i'm not I just think it's so funny#from a writer pov you get all up in your head about getting criticism and most of the time it just doesn't make sense#but honestly writing class trained me so well for this#sometimes people misunderstand your work SO much#and you can't respond to them and you just have to sit and deal#(not just talking about this referring to writing stuff in general + my work stuff)#like I'm glad we weren't allowed to defend our work in writing class cause it's trained me well#to either learn from the feedback or sit back and be like ???? and then just move on
