Vincent van Gogh, The Yellow House (a sketch)
“You know I’ve always thought it ridiculous for painters to live alone... You always lose when you’re isolated.” Vincent van Gogh, Letter to Theo (28-29 May 1888)
“How I think of you and of Gauguin and of Bernard, everywhere and at all times! It’s so beautiful, and I’d so much like to see everyone over here.” Letter to Theo (29 September 1888)

i give you Letters to Theo by Van Gogh! haven't really read it, i grabbed it because it was a second hand edition and it was quite beautiful. i have read some parts of it that were really beautiful and touching, it's a nice book to have on my shelf :-)
Omg Ik this one! I never read it (which is a crime), but my friend Rory told me about it. Theo and Vincent's relationship breaks my heart so much. Theo was the only person Vincent had in his life. They loved each other so much, they had a bond like no other.
Artist Ossip Zadkine made a statue of both Vincent and Theo in Zundert, Netherlands, back in 1964, near where the brothers were born.

Thank you for reminding me of that book. I'll have to get a copy of it 💛

8. pancakes for dinner - lizzy mcalpine
oh this would be such a cute one!! probably muggle fremione with fred as hermione's best friend's older brother that she's always had a crush on, and in the past few months they've grown closer. and hermione goes to visit family in australia at one point and she thinks about telling fred before she goes because she's going to be gone for a month or two or three and maybe if he rejects her the sting will have subsided by the time she gets back. but fred shows up at her house the night before and tells her he can't let her go without her knowing how he feels and then they realize it was HORRIBLE TIMING BECAUSE NOW THEY HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG TO KISS AGAIN
12. something to hold on to - the band camino
oh god oh god oh god okay so bear with me. i have a jatp willex au based off of this song and i have... been entertaining writing a fremione au. pretty much the idea would be a dual timeline: "before" when they were together and "after" after they break up, ALLLLL leading up to them getting back together of course (of course. only HEA here). i think the war would be the thing that breaks them up, and i think they'd have gone through so much trauma it's difficult for them to find their way back to each other. but they will. eventually.
73. let's get married - bleachers
okay this is SUCH a fremione song and maybe this is a total cop out but i'd really just write about them eloping because they literally cannot stand not being married to one another for another day

"Starry Night Over the Rhône" (Vincent Van Gogh, 1888)
"If I make better work later, I still won’t work otherwise than now; I mean it will be the same apple only riper — I myself won’t turn from what I’ve thought from the start. And this is why I say for my part, if I’m no good now, I won’t be any good later either — but if later, then now too. For wheat is wheat, even if it looks like grass at first to townsfolk — and the other way round too. "

Today my brother gift me the book Letters to Theo by Vincent Van Gogh
I think that the relationship between them, the love, the understanding (or the trying to understand) is the same in our relationship in a way
My brother is awesome, I love him so much he knows me so well 🥹

“If we study Japanese art, then we see a man, undoubtedly wise and a philosopher and intelligent, who spends his time — on what? — studying the distance from the earth to the moon? — no; studying Bismarck’s politics? — no, he studies a single blade of grass.” Vincent van Gogh, Letter to Theo, 23-24 September 1888

You know, what makes the prison disappear is every deep, serious attachment. To be friends, to be brothers, to love; that opens the prison through sovereign power, through a most powerful spell. But he who doesn’t have that remains in death. But where sympathy springs up again, life springs up again. V.v.G.
