I'm starting on my weekend cleaning, and I'm not going to lie, it has me daydreaming about the domesticity of doing it with my butch.

Playfully whining about the state she let her apartment get while she cleans the bathroom and I strip the sheets, dragging her with me to the Laundromat and appeasing her with promises of coffee and saying it's basically a break, wiping down the countertop and sweeping while she does the dishes, just. Having her there with me while I finish cleaning, because she always runs out of steam before I do(but that doesn't keep her from jumping up to take the trash out or empty the litterbox once I get to those tasks)

Going out to dinner or ordering in at the end of the day because we just deep cleaned the kitchen, and watching tv together on the couch until she catches me dozing off and makes me go to bed.

it is such a blessing to lie in bed and watch the person you love sleep on your chest

there's something so special about reclaiming my feminity, allowing myself to endulge in something i have tried to repress for so long. i have been so scared of my feminity, so uncomfortable with it, because of how men view it. they see my feminity as an invitation, as an excuse. and even subconsciously, i was performing my feminity for men, as in my mind, that was the only way my feminity was desirable; the only way i was desirable. my whole life, my feminity has been weaponised against me. now i'm learning how to reclaim it. how to endulge and embrace it. i used to squirm and hide when my feminity was appreciated, as all i felt were the eyes of men. my feminity is entirely my own, yet i have grown to love when lesbians appreciate it. the gaze of a butch makes me feel alive.

my feminity has helped me accept my identity as a lesbian. my identity as a lesbian has helped me feel beautiful in my feminity.

Lesbian Joy is so much more than sex tbh

Don’t get me wrong, the sex is great, but There is something so beautiful in learning to love your lesbian identity. In the care and sisterhood and love in the community even between strangers.

Lesbian joy is a femme giving a butch the haircut they always wanted but never got. Its two butches playfighting and not caring about how loud or distracting they are. Its two femmes going bra or swimsuit shopping together and allowing themselves to compliment each other without worrying about seeming like a creep.

Lesbian joy is in the little things. The tiny nods in lavender tattoos or carabiners on belt loops.

Lesbian joy is mentorship, and group acknowledgement of how much Sailor Moon impacted us all when we were young, and community, and looking out for each other, and its fucking beautiful.
