ੈ✩ — 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒. (BLURB) | LEE HEESEUNG
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
୨୧ pairing — older brother's best friend!lee heeseung x park!fem!reader
୨୧ synopsis — living under the protective eyes of your older brother, park sunghoon, he thinks he knows you the best. but litte does he know that heeseung knows you love your sour patch kids more than you love his usual swedish fish. (inspired by the summer i turned pretty scene where conrad knows belly's taste of candies more than jeremiah)
୨୧ genre — non!idol au, you're 20 and hee is 22, you and hee are dating but sunghoon doesn't know, sort of childhood friends to lovers?
୨୧ warnings — cursing, forbidden (ish) romance, cute fluff where heeseung knows you best, backstreet dating behind sunghoon's back, heeseung and sunghoon having a little quarrel, possesive/sassy-ish hee
୨୧ word count — 562 words, 3148 characters (sort of proofread?)
୨୧ author's note — first blurb and i lowkey wrote this on my phone during english class.. had to get this out of my system cause i absolutely loved this scene in tsitp. plus i felt like i needed to write something since i won't be releasing "it's a crisis"'s full fic anytime soon since i'm busy with exams coming up :(

𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓.
the car comes to a stop under the gas station’s bright led light. sunghoon takes off his seatbelt as he grabs his wallet in his pocket, before exiting the car, leaving you and heeseung alone.
you could feel the tension between you and heeseung. the heavy rain outside making it seem louder. he was slumped over in the backseat with his phone in his hand, the bright light illuminating his features.
when did he become so handsome?
sunghoon opens the driver’s side’s door, “we’re two hours away from home, gas is filling up and i’m gonna get some snacks. you want any y/n?”
“i’m down with anything, honestly.” you respond.
as sunghoon is about to close the door, heeseung takes off his seatbelt, whispering a “i’ll come with.” before closing the car door.
the mini market’s door rings a slight ding! as sunghoon pushes the door open. the constant buzzing of the refrigerator and the broken acs filled the room. the two split up searching for bare necessities like snacks and water to keep them company on the way home.
as a couple minutes passed, the two found each other again at the cash register, dropping the things at checkout.
in sunghoon’s hands was a bag of swedish fish, meanwhile in heeseung’s was a bag of sour patch kids.
“don’t waste your money bud, she likes these better.” heeseung snickered, a smirk on his face.
sunghoon lets out a sigh, “they’re practically the same.” he defends himself.
“not to y/n. she thinks swedish fish tastes like candles. she likes sour.”
“why do you even care, hee?” he asks him. “she’s my sister, i know her.”
heeseung licks his lips as he lets out a small laugh, “i don’t.”
“that’s bullshit.” sunghoon scoffs.
“you still want these?” the cashier asks the two, pointing at the swedish fish.
“yes yes, of course.” sunghoon answers.
“i tried to warn him.” heeseung laughs at his best friend.
“why are you acting lik—like this?!” sunghoon asks, a slight bit of anger heard through his voice.
“relax, you big fucking baby. i’m just messing with ya man.” heeseung chuckles, giving his best friend a pat on the back.
with a glare, sunghoon taps his debit card at the scanner, paying for their snacks, picking up the plastic bag and murmuring a small thank you, to the cashier, before they rush out back into their car in the pouring rain.
as the two car doors slam, you take the plastic bag from sunghoon’s hands, diving in.
“what did you get?” you ask the two, ruffling the inside of the bag.
“ooh! sour patch, my favorite!” you glimmer, opening the package as you dive into the sour goodness. but you didn’t miss the bag of swedish fish in sunghoon’s hands.
“oh! i could, um, eat this swedish fish… after?”
sunghoon opened the bag before he responded with a “no, no it’s okay. i got them for me.” as he popped a little fish in his mouth, chewing with disappointment.
“okay.”
sunghoon’s brows furrowed, knowing damn well that his best friend was right.
even from the backseat, he could feel heeseung shooting him a look that was screaming i told you so! before he put the car into ignition.
as sunghoon pressed the gas and started driving into the dark rainy night, his sister chewing on her sour patch kids, he heard heeseung letting out small whisper right in his ear.
“you see? my girl knows her sour patch kids.”

BIRTHDAY BOY ft lee heeseung
Tumblr media
pairing: bf!hee x fem!reader
smut (mdni) + 2824 words
WARNINGS: alcohol consumption, tipsy hee and tipsy reader, sort of dom!hee i can’t really tell, mutual masturbation, slight overstim, reader is a good girl !!!, random mark lee (idk why this is a warning i adore him), ig also random kim chaewon and huh yunjin, i think that’s it ..
thank u so much to heeseung for being born today and giving me an excuse to write this fic thank you so so so much you are so selfless and do so much for me thank you happy birthday i love you #21 i hope you take a shot today you deserve it !!!
Heeseung watches you apply the last of your mascara in the mirror, sitting on the edge of Yunjin’s bed with his bottom lip pulled between his teeth – and now, finally happy enough with how your makeup (and outfit) came out, you take a step back to admire your reflection before turning to face the birthday boy.
“Is it too late to cancel?”
“You were totally pumped about the party, like, an hour ago.” You frown, linking your arms around his neck.
His hand sits near the top of your thigh, toying with the hem of your dress. “That was before you put this on.”
“I can take it off if you want.”
Heeseung’s eyes leave your tits with some reluctance, raising to meet your gaze. “Really?” He gasps, his voice thick with excitement.
You copy his tone when you say, no.
His lips quirk up into a small smile as he pulls you down onto his lap, a hand holding your neck as he leans in to kiss you. You taste the bitter remnants of a vodka shot on his tongue when it moves against yours, humming into his mouth when he tightens his hold on your neck. His other hand leaves your waist, finding the strap of your dress and tugging at it a little, pulling away just enough to say, please, against your lips.
“Later, baby.” You tell him, leaning back a little to look at him, unable to hold in the little laugh that forces its way out at the way he’s frowning. “Have you always been so impatient?”
With his hand in yours, Heeseung lets you pull him down the stairs to the living room where Jay, Jake, and Sunghoon all stand by the speaker bickering with one another over which playlist to put on, and Yunjin lays on the couch napping resting her eyes before the party starts.
Insisting that there’s better lighting in the hall, a now awake, Yunjin leads the way and can’t fight a smile at the sight of you and Heeseung together – not missing the chance to remind the two of you that you should be thankful to her. “If it wasn’t for me, I mean, you probably would have found each other anyway because you were both friends with Jay but I.. I di-”
Heeseung cuts her off. “Just take the pictures.” A little smirk forms on his face as he places his hand over the curve of your ass, grabbing at it and angling your back a little more towards the camera for everyone to see.
“At least one good one, Hee, come on.” You groan, trying to move his hand. “We don’t have any nice pictures together.”
“We have plenty of nice pictures together, we just took some last night.”
A wave of heat rushes over you as you hide your face in his chest, the sounds of your friends chuckling at what he said from the living room only mortifying you further. His arm wraps around your shoulders as he presses a sweet kiss to the top of your head. “I’m sorry, baby.” He mumbles, fighting for his life trying to hold back his own laughter at your reaction.
When you manage to recover, Heeseung lifts his hand to a respectful height on your waist, beaming at the camera like you’d asked him to, and he doesn’t even fuss when you and Yunjin pass the phone back and forth so you can have a look at the photos, scrolling through the ones already taken and deciding that the two of you should stand a tiny bit closer.
Your boyfriend is gracious enough to grant you more than just one nice photo, and you can’t help but feel a little bit sick with love when you notice that in most of them, he’s smiling down at you. But of course, Heeseung being Heeseung, there’s no escaping the pictures he asks Yunjin to take with his hand on your ass. And your tits – though if you’d known this would be the last time hed so much as look in your direction all night, you might’ve begged for more photos.
Three rounds of rock, paper, scissors, and an almost inconsolable Jake later, Sunghoon’s phone plays On That Time throughout the house, and Kim Chaewon is pouring Grey Goose into your mouth straight from the bottle while Mark Lee films it with a blinding flash and a series of ayyys – you’re thankful when she decides it’s time for you to tap out, and you grin into the camera before the video ends.
From across the room, you watch as Heeseung plays beer pong with a crowd of people - you recognise from around campus - cheering every time he sinks the ball.
And you feel your eye twitch when the girl who sits behind you in your stats class whines about how she’s so bad, looking up at him and batting her lashes as she asks him to teach her. You let out a breath you didn’t even realise you were holding when he shakes his head. And you clench your jaw when he winks at her, just making out the way he says, I’ll go easy on you.
Noticing your irritation, Mark drags you away from the scene of the crime, elbowing through the crowd in the living room to an empty corner. “You okay?”
You shrug in response, not wanting to unload on a relatively new friend.
“He’s the man of the hour, it’ll die down soon and you guys can .. whatever, don’t worry about it.” He tells you, offering you his cup to take a sip from.
Much to your disappointment, he was wrong, and the two of you danced around (perhaps a little closer than you should have been) for what felt like ten years (but was probably only an hour) before you excuse yourself to look for Yunjin.
Desperate to catch your boyfriend’s attention, you ask her and Chaewon to help you find something else to wear. And even though it takes longer than expected, the two girls sit on the bed with their jaws on the floor at the sight of you in a purple set that she was yet to wear.
“I don’t think you’ll be wearing that for very long when he sees you.”
Unfortunately, being wrong seems to be the trend amongst your friends as Heeseung only looks at you for a split second before resuming the conversation he’s having on the couch with.. the girl from earlier. He doesn’t even acknowledge you when you sit in his lap, only wrapping his arm around your waist as he continues to talk about his major.
You shift a little in your seat, leaving a kiss on his neck before sucking the spot – an action that finally makes him talk to you. “Not now, YN.” He says, moving his neck away from you. This is enough to force you to blink away tears and you’re just thankful that Yunjin’s bedroom is empty when you go back up there.
In an effort to make yourself feel better, as you sit on her bed with your knees to your chest, you tell yourself that you’re only crying because you’ve had a little to drink and not because your boyfriend hates you. Or is acting like he hates you.
You don’t look up when you hear the door open and you thank whatever higher power will listen that whoever it was decided not to stay, quickly closing it again. Though the alone time doesn’t last as the door opens once again.
“Baby?” Your boyfriend’s voice is soft when he speaks but you’re far too embarrassed to respond. “Hey, what’s the matter?” The door clicks shut behind him and you feel the bed dip next to you when he sits down, his arm wrapping around your shoulders. Heeseung doesn’t say anything for a while, humming a song that you like and using his thumb to rub circles on your arm. “Do you wanna talk about it or do you just wanna sit for a bit?” He eventually asks.
When you look up at him his brows are furrowed and he watches you with wide eyes. “You left me alone all night.” You mumble.
“You looked like you were in good hands with Mark earlier, I didn’t wanna interrupt.” Heeseung clears his throat a little before shifting in his seat, hating himself a little for the way his cock hardens at the sight of his crying girlfriend. “Come to think of it, the two of you looked pretty cosy in the living room.”
“I’m surprised you noticed.”
Heeseung sighs, scratching at the back of his neck. “I’m here now, you’ve got me as long as you want me.”
“I got changed and everything, Yunjin lended me this stupid outfit,” Which admittedly is very cute. “And you wouldn’t even look at me.”
“Well, I had to punish you somehow.”
“Punish me?”
He nods, fingers toying with the strap on your dress. “You used to be such a good girl for me, what happened?”
“I still am.”
“Would a good girl grind on another guy at the birthday party she threw for her boyfriend?”
“I didn’t grind on him.”
He squints at you, and you’re certain he knows you didn’t. Because you didn’t. But the look on his face tells you otherwise, and you’re not sure what more you can say. “You were ignoring me.” You offer uselessly.
“You wanted attention so bad you used another guy to make me jealous,” he pauses. “On my birthday?”
“I’m sorry.” You try, voice coming out in a pathetic murmur as you wipe a tear from your cheek with the back of your hand.
Heeseung tuts, pulling you onto his lap. “Not gonna cut it, princess.” His hand slips under your skirt, resting at the top of your thigh. “When did you take your panties off?”
“When I got changed.”
“Hmm.” He nods. “For Mark?”
“For you.” You refrain from rolling your eyes at him, desperate to stay in his good books. “You know that.”
He smiles as he echoes you. “I know that.” A grin splitting across his lips at the way you practically gasp when his fingers ghost over your pussy, dragging your wetness towards your clit. And despite how good it feels, you shake your head.
“Wanna make you feel good.”
“Yeah?”
You grab his wrist, pulling his hand away from your legs and bring it to your face instead, nodding as you pull his thumb between your lips.
He helps you undo his fly and can’t help but chuckle at the way you grin when you move his underwear and his cock slaps his stomach. Eyes locked on your hand as you wrap your fingers around it, thick and hard, his slit oozing precum already – your thumb touching him as if drawn by a magnet, spreading it around his tip before stroking him gently
“Spit on it.” He mumbles, groaning a little when you do, watching as it slips down his skin, over his veins and pooling at his base. It’s slick in your hand as you make sure to cover the whole thing, wrapping your hand around it once again, grip tighter than before as you jerk him off near his head just the way he likes, more than pleased with yourself at the loud moan he lets out.
He can’t draw his eyes away from the sight, from the way the sheer size of his shaft makes your hand look so small around him. The knot forming in his stomach causes his nose to scrunch up and his pretty lips move to utter a curse. “Such a good girl.” His voice comes out in a whisper and his eyes snap to look up at you, your hole clenching around nothing under his gaze.
If Heeseung could manage to stay still, the eye contact might’ve intimidated you a little – but his hips keep bucking up into your fist as he loses composure, a sight that leaves your cunt leaking. A sight that leaves you so wet that when he reaches between your thighs his ring finger slips in with no resistance, a shuddered breath falling from your lips as your grip on him falters slightly.
It stings a little when he adds his middle finger, his thick digits stretching you out as he curls them towards your belly button. His eyes are lidded as he looks down at the sight before him and it’s a little hard to concentrate on anything other than the way his Adam’s apple bobs in his throat.
“Did I tell you to stop?”
You mumble an apology around his thumb as you continue your movements, a whine falling from your lips at the feeling of him grazing your walls, a moan coming out when he presses on your clit with his thumb. He takes his thumb from your mouth and puts his hand on your waist to keep you steady as you squirm in his lap, your eyes screwing shut when the tip of his finger brushes against your g-spot.
The look on your face is mesmerising and he feels his tummy flutter as he watches you, the way your jaw falls slack and your hand comes up to grab at his shoulder and–fuck, he’s so lucky to have you like this. To have you at all.
He can tell you’re close from the way your hand loosens on his cock and your strokes lose their rhythm, sporadic now, almost as if you have to remind yourself to do it. That and the way that the only word you can get to leave your mouth is his name – which he’d never complain about. If anything the whole thing only brings him closer too, his thighs tensing under you and his stomach contracting beneath his shirt.
The knot in your stomach is unbearably tight as you claw at his back, your hips stuttering while you ride his fingers, and your mind too hazy to process the fact that you’re cumming until Heeseung brings his coated fingers to your mouth, biting on his lip as you suck them clean.
“Beautiful.” He mumbles, sucking a breath through his teeth when you start stroking him again, obviously a little tired now given how slowly you move your hand, chest rising dramatically as you huff to catch your breath.
“Sorry about the mess.” You whisper when you look down, a part of his black pants now sticky and wet with your arousal.
There’s a pretty smile on his face when you look back at him, shrugging a little as he says, you know I like it. And he smiles even wider at the way you cover your face, embarrassed. “You’re so cute, baby.” He chuckles, stopping short when you swipe his tip with your thumb again.
His hand is so much bigger than yours when he covers it, helping you finish him off, writhing under you as you wrap your other hand around his base, covering the whole thing. With a couple more tugs at his shaft and a cry of your name, his head falls forward and his cock twitches in your hold when he cums, white and hot between your spread legs.
Your body jerks a little at the feeli—Shit, you gasp as some of it spills into your clenching hole, and he can’t tear his eyes away from it, so pretty, so messy, all because of him. A shiver creeps up your spine when he pulls you closer, the head of his cock grazing your cunt, spreading the mess all over you.
Heeseung can’t help the soft sigh that slips past his lips as he pushes into you, still so tight he can barely get his tip inside, but you’re so hot, so wet. And with no time to recover from your orgasm you collapse into him, your head falling into the crook of his neck. “Too much.” You whimper into his skin.
He presses a soft kiss to the top of your head, his arms coming around you to hold your body in place. “Be a good girl and take it.” He mumbles, moaning as he fills you all the way to the hilt, grinning at the way you shiver and grind down on him.
His hips rock against yours as slow as he can manage, he’s never taken you like this, never used his cock to fuck his cum into you, and he feels like a fool now that he knows how good it feels.
“Hee, please, too much.” You cry out, halting your movements and nestling your face in his neck.
And he almost feels glad when he hears you say it, feeling overwhelmed himself. “I know, baby,” he speaks into your hair, leaving a kiss. “I know. Let’s just stay like this for a bit, hmm?”
Letting out a yawn, you nod your head. “Happy birthday, baby.”

<3: as always @ethereal-engene aka ash, loml <33 got to beta-read this and it was the literal highlight of my day. also I wrote half of this over a couple days and finished the rest to day so if it’s a hot mess that’s why, love you🧎‍♀️
Tumblr media
This was it, today was your day and you were beyond determined to make it through this day without anything messing up or stopping from you. Yes, today was the day that you planned on confessing to the prettiest boy, in your opinion, Lee Heeseung. So far, you feel pretty confident—or at least the most confident you can feel. With the letter in your hand, you linger around the lockers right before the lunch bell and pretend to listen to what your brother is saying. Jaemin was talking all nerdy to you and it was going through one ear and out the next. “Hey, listen to me when I’m talking, you’re being incredibly rude.” As he snaps his fingers at you, you swat at his hand.
“Leave me alone, I’m focusing.” He rolls his eyes, following your eyes to the boy you were so swooned for. “He’s not even that cute, if we’re comparing looks, I look better—some might even say sexy.” As he wiggles his eyebrows, you shove him aside and start to fiddle with your locker. “Ouch, that’s so rude—do I need to tell your little crush how rude you ar—OUCH!” Stomping on his foot, you give him the finger before sticking your nose into your locker. As the bell goes off, you shoo Jaemin away and put your books up. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Heeseung leaving his locker and heading down to the lunch hall. As you shut your locker, the hallway empties and you find this to be your perfect opportunity.
You try to act casual, walking across the hall and looking at the locker numbers. You’re about to slip the letter that you poured your heart into in the designated locker—that is until you hear voices coming from the end of the hall. Without paying much attention, you shove the letter in what you hope is the right locker and go on down the hallway, pretending as if you didn’t just slip a love letter in. Unbeknownst to you, the boy who was late to lunch comes flying down the hallway and accidentally bumps into you. “Shit—sorry doll face.” You didn’t get a clear look at the guy who practically ran you over, rubbing your shoulder as he ran down and disappeared into the hungry crowd of students.
You look around for your usual table where your friends are always found, skipping the line and sliding into the seat next to Yunjin. “Look who decides to join us?” Rolling your eyes, you grab half the sandwich from Chaewon’s tray and start to munch on it. “A certain someone must’ve been keeping her company.” Giselle wiggled her brows at you, leaning onto the table with her elbows propping her up. “Give her a break, she’s probably too tired to deal with you two from thinking about Heeseung all night.” Yunjin snickered, ducking down when you tried to throw your sandwich at her.
“Says the one who was stalking Chenle on his socials.” The girl beside you threw her hands over your mouth, looking over at the boy of topic to make sure he didn’t hear you. “Shh, he’s right there, unlike lover boy, he literally sits a few tables away.” You giggle into her hands, pulling them down as her face heats up in slight embarrassment. “You two are a mess, imagine simping over a man, ew.” Chaewon dramatically flipped her short hair, popping a piece of fruit into her mouth. “Aren’t you the same one who was drooling over that girl in your art class?” Giselle was more than satisfied by Chaewon’s lack of response, laughing when the other tried to steal her tray from her.
“What’s with all the giggling over there, you girls aren’t thinking of me, are you?” Jaemin stood up from his seat, smiling over at you with the most annoying grin on his face. “I can’t believe we’re related sometimes.” You mumble, avoiding his eyes in hopes he’ll leave you alone. “I can’t believe you two shared a home for nine months, you must’ve took all the right nutrients for him to come out like that.” Looking in the direction Chaewon was pointing in, you could see Jaemin and his friends sticking food in your brothers belly button and all of you were utterly disgusted. “Look y/n, I got olives for my next class!”
You were always embarrassed by your brother’s shenanigans, especially when he didn’t know how to control his volume and now half the lunch hall was looking your way. The cherry on top of it all was that Heeseung and his friends got curious about the commotion and now were looking at your table, heat rushing to your cheeks faster than you could get up from your table and try to discreetly leave the hall. Unbeknownst to you, a certain pair of eyes followed your figure from the table till you slipped between the crowd and ultimately out of his sight.
After leaving the lunch hall, you headed to your next class and lingered outside the door after stopping by your locker. You opt to wait by the door, back against the wall while looking over your notes from the previous class. In the distance, you could hear footsteps coming your way, not paying the person who was coming through any mind as you kept your nose in your book. “Hey, you’re..Na Y/n, right?” The unfamiliar voice caught your attention, looking up to see a boy who you didn’t fully recognize. You’re sure you’ve seen him around, being that he’s in your year and had been in a couple classes a couple years back, but he looks different than what you remember.
“Uh, yeah, who are you again?” The way he smiled at you made you almost feel small. “Just checking out the infamous Na twin, that’s all.” Before you could get a word in, he walked away with a grin on his face, disappearing as he turned a corner. Confused and more curious as to why he approached you, you decide that it’s best to ignore whatever that was and focus on your notes so that you’ll at least have some idea of what today’s class is about. Minutes pass by and the lunch hall starts to empty out, a crowd of students coming out into the hallways and to their lockers in batches while you await for your friends to join you at the door. When the bell finally goes off, you go inside the room and take your seat near the window where both you and Yunjin sit.
By the time you set your notebook and book down on your desk, Yunjin comes running in the class, making a direct b-line to your desk. “Hey, where were you? I waited by the door for you before class started.” Out of breath, Yunjin held herself up on her hands that were on her thighs. “I heard people whispering and I just had to stick around and get the tea.” You weren’t really surprised, sitting down as she took the seat across from you. She catches her breath, leaning towards you while signaling for you to lean in. “Okay, so I was about to leave the lunch hall and I overheard some fangirls crying about how Haechan ha-“
“Stop right there, who’s Haechung?”
“Haechan.” Yunjin corrects you, laughing as you brush off the fact that you butchered someone’s name who you didn’t even know. “Anyway, he said to this girl that he got a love letter and rejected the poor thing solely based on this supposed letter he got in his locker.” Somehow, you don’t connect the dots and pass it off as a coincidence. “Huh, good for him I guess.” With her mouth agape, Yunjin looked at you in shock. “Girl, do you even know who Haechan is?” Shaking your head, you lean back into your seat and start to open your notebook back up to where you were before class started. “He’s literally one of your brother’s best friends, they’re pretty popular around school, especially with the ladies.”
“Who’s popular with the ladies?” Looking up from your notebook, your heart immediately starts to race when you see Heeseung looking down at you with a smile. “Not you, lover boy.” Yunjin and Heeseung exchange a look before they both turn their attention back to you. “Uh, just some guy in my grade and stuff.” He nods, taking the seat in front of you, smiling at you in a way that nearly takes your breath. “Well, I hope whoever he is didn’t catch your attention, wouldn’t want someone taking my favorite window-neighbor away.” You couldn’t comprehend exactly what he was saying, only nodding at him while trying to stop yourself from drooling. He laughs a little under his breath, watching as your eyes gloss over and merely smile back.
After hearing someone calling his name, Heeseung saw his desk mate waving him down, getting up from the seat to head over to where he typically sits. “Well, I’ll see you around y/n, yunjin.” Yunjin gave Heeseung a bitter smile, clapping her hands together as he walked away before turning back to you with an obvious shift in her mood. “Ugh, I know you like him and he makes your insides liquid and all, but he still irks me.”
“I can’t believe you’re letting this grudge carry on this long.” As dramatic as Yunjin may be, she never fails to let a grudge go, especially when it comes to Heeseung. “This long, are you hearing yourself, he spread all those false rumors about me and never apologized!” She scoffs underneath her breath as she sits back in her seat. “Can’t believe you thought I’d forgive so easily, who do you take me for?” Smiling at her, you reach out and rub her shoulder as she returns the smile. “Dunno, thought you were Jaemin for a second.” Snickering as she starts hitting on your leg, your teacher gathers the attempt of the room and begins the class.

By the end of the day, classes had finished and you opted to ride home with Chaewon instead of going with your brother. When you got in the door, you could hear your brother talking on the phone as you made your way through the hallway and down to your room. Jaemin heard you come in, ending his call and following behind you with a winning look on his face. “What do you want, nana?” Slipping his phone into his pocket, he leans against your door frame, watching as you toss your bag onto your bed. “I got some friends coming over in a minute and I just wanted to tell you we’ll be in the living room.” You turn to face him, sitting on your bed and start to dig through your bag. “And before you ask, I did get mom and dad’s permission, so don’t try to rat me out.”
Jaemin left your room, disappearing somewhere down the hall and into the living room you assume. Pulling out the essentials you bring with you to school, you feel a pair of eyes looking at you which was starting to creep you out. Looking up from the pile of stuff you took out of your bag, you look over to your window to see Heeseung standing in his room. Crouched down by his window, we waves at you to come over, to which you do. After crawling off your bed and crouching down to your window, you push it open and lean against the wall with your arms crossed to prop you up. Heeseung did the same, opening his window and sitting down by it as he looked across to you.
“So, do you normally stalk your neighbors or was that just a coincidence that I literally felt you looking at me?” He laughs, a sweet laugh that immediately makes you smile. “Actually, no, I just happened to look over and saw you were free and might need some company.” Shaking your head, you miss the way he smiles at you and instead enjoy the cool breeze coming your way. “You could’ve thrown rocks at my window or I don’t know, knocked on my front door like a normal person.” He arched up an eyebrow, grinning at you which had you blushing. “Are you inviting me into your house—no wait, into your room miss y/n, because all of those options sound pretty romantic to me.”
You were sure your face was probably as red as it possibly could be, clearing your throat to try and regain your composure. “Please, if I’m getting romantic with anyone, it’d be my three-d animated boyfriend, real boys aren’t my thing.” Heeseung laughed again, man you wish you could put his laugh on repeat. “Yeah yeah, whatever floats your boat.” Both of you started snickering at one another, interrupted when a group of boys started to make their way to your house. “Got company?” Shaking your head, you let out a sigh, almost forgetting your brother had friends coming. “No, Jaemin invited his friends over and I’m planning on camping out in my bed till they’re gone.”
Heeseung nodded silently, leaning forward and letting the breeze brush against his face. You watched how the wind moved the hair that usually fell almost into his eyes fly back and exposed the beautiful features you didn’t get to see often. He must’ve sensed you looking, smiling when his eyes met yours. “I-uh, I think I’m gonna go get a snack.”
“See you tomorrow, y/n.”
After Heeseung closed his window, you sat on the floor, screaming silently into the palms of your hands. Throughout all the years you’ve lived next to him, that was probably the most you two have talked since you were kids and all you can think of is how embarrassing you might’ve looked. Opting to get a drink to maybe cool your burning cheeks, you got off the floor and closed the window before heading out your room. You could already hear how loud Jaemin and his friends were, staying silent as you went into the kitchen.
“And I swear to you bro, it was the best confession I’ve ever gotten—hands down.” Whoever was talking sounded familiar, but you weren’t trying to listen too hard and just wanted to get a cup from the cabinet. “Bro, are you sure it was for you, I mean from what I’ve heard it sounds like they barely know you.”
“That’s the exciting part, they don’t know me and when I find them, they won’t be able to resist my charm.” Okay, you were physically disgusted by whatever they were talking about. Not sure what it is about boys their age, but they were always so sure they were the shit and that was not attractive at all. “I’m telling you, if I find her I’m going to make her mine, lemme just read it to you and you’ll know.” After pouring your drink, you leaned against the counter and took a couple sips. For some reason, your curiosity got the best of you and you wanted to know where this was going.
“Lee, I know that this is unexpected, but I have been thinking about you for quite some time and I think I’m ready to finally tell you how you make me feel.” Your entire body freezes, the hairs on your arms stand as you can almost feel the color drain from your face. “I’ve been harboring these feelings for you for a long time and I want you to know how deeply I feel for you, no other has ever made me want to love someone the way you do.” Panic starts to run through your veins as you try and think of how you managed to put the letter in the wrong locker. “Maybe you’ll find out who I am, maybe you won’t, but for now I’ll remain close to you at a distance, sincerely your secret admirer.”
This wasn’t how this was supposed to go, this wasn’t supposed to happen and it wasn’t supposed to end up in the hands of whichever friend of your brothers. Thinking of how you could possibly make this situation better, the sound of your brother's voice being closer to you than you’d like makes you stiff. “Lemme see that paper, it looks kind of familiar.” All you can think of at this moment is how badly this is going to spread around your school if rumors are spread and a mental note to look into how to drop out of school. You must’ve spaced out, not realizing that someone had walked into the kitchen and was now staring at you. “Uh, can you move—I kind of need to get right there.”
“Uh—oh yeah, I’m sorry.” You manage to mumble to the boy who gave you an odd look. “Renjun, who are you—oh hey y/n, come here.” Trying your best to sneakily slip back to your room turned out to be an epic fail, hearing your brother calling out for you. When you turned around, all the eyes of the boys he had over were now on you and one in particular looked a little too familiar for your liking. “Is it urgent?” Judging by the look he gave you, you knew you had no choice but to come otherwise he’d physically move you himself. So you slowly made your way to where they were all sitting, shifting from one foot onto the other in hopes this would be over soon.
“This is y/n, she’s my sister.” Jaemin gestured to you as you awkwardly waved at everyone. “Y/n, that’s jeno—who you’ve met many times before, but the rest are Renjun and Haechan.” Jaemin pointed over to the one who you ran into in the kitchen, Renjun was his name. The other he pointed over to was grinning at you, making your stomach churn as you avoided his gaze. “Hello y/n, it’s nice to meet you.” Your eyes locked with Haechan putting all the puzzle pieces from the day together in your head. He was the one who rejected a girl for your love letter, the same guy who nearly knocked you off your feet on the way to the lunch hall. He’s been everywhere all in one day and something tells you that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
“‘Kay, nice to meet you, if you need me nana, call me.” Jaemin could sense you weren’t comfortable, the atmosphere shifting a little as you walked out. Jeno noticed Haechan’s eyes following you, meeting his friend's eyes with a knowing glare.

The next day at school was supposed to go smoothly, that is until you filled in the girls about the situation and they all didn’t react so quietly. “What the fuck!” Chaewon’s supposed whisper was a lot louder than she anticipated, Yunjin slapping her hand over her friend's mouth to quiet her. Due to the loudness from your huddled group on the field behind the gym, people were looking over at the four of you as you and Giselle tried to play it cool. “Do you have to be so loud?” Chaewon gave you an apologetic look to which you gave her a forgiving nod. “I’m sorry, I’m just shocked that the na y/n could be so ballsy and write up her confession into a love letter.”
“Which totally backfired on her, by the way.” Giselle made sure to point out the obvious in the situation, reminding you of your biggest regret in the last twenty-four hours. “You’re telling me, he was literally eyeing me down yesterday in my living room which ruined my vibe after talking with Heeseung.” Yunjin slung her arm around your shoulder, bringing you closer to her as the three of you walked around the field. “Let’s just look on the positive side, maybe Haechan won’t find out it was from you and all will be well.”
“What wasn’t from y/n?” The sound of Jeno’s voice scared you all, making you and your friends jump a little before turning around to see a very confused and sweaty Jeno. “It’s called staying out of conversations you weren’t apa—“
“Okay, let’s go little firecracker.” Giselle took Yunjin away before she said something to upset the boy who was a little amused. “Can we talk really quick, alone?” Jeno shifts his eyes between you and Chaewon, nodding to your friend as she waves back to you before leaving you two. “So, what do you want?” Jeno laughs a little, rubbing the sweat from his forehead off with his shirt. “Kinda rude for someone who I practically grew up with, Jaemin would be disappointed.”
“Yeah, well you were more of his friend than you were mine so I don’t see any problem in getting to the point.” Jeno always admired how head-strong you were. Unlike your brother, you always skipped the line and got to the root of things whereas Jaemin was more relaxed and let things come as they go. “I just wanted to see what’s up with you and Haechan.” Your heart shouldn’t have started to race, not by the likes of his name. Maybe it was because in that instance, you caught a glance of him across the field and when you looked a little too long, he locked eyes with you and smiled.
“Haechan? Nothings going on with us, I barely know him, if even that.” Jeno doesn’t seem satisfied with your answer, but you’re hoping he’ll buy it enough to let you escape the boy who is now making his way towards the two of you. “Alright, I’m just looking out for you—you’re almost like a sister to me too and I don’t want you mixing with him, he doesn’t have the best track record with girls.” Somehow you’re almost sad to hear that, not knowing why you expected anything less than him being a player, nevertheless it still made you sad. “Thanks Jeno, but I gotta go before I’m late to my next class, bye!”
Haechan was hot on your heels, almost near you and Jeno if it weren’t for you cutting the conversation short and running off before you gave him the chance to catch you. Your friends were somewhere on the other side of the field by now, but you opted to head in and get changed before Haechan got the opportunity to steal your attention. You’re running back into the building, turning a corner and nearly running into the body of an oncoming student. “Woah, slow down, what’s the rush?” After brushing your hair out from your face, you look up to see Heeseung smiling down at you as you regain your composure. “Going somewhere important?” The breath in your chest stopped for a second, raking in the beautiful features that were Heeseung’s face.
“Uh—no, I actually was just going to get changed.” He nods, turning around to walk alongside you as you go towards your locker to get your spare clothes. “Hey, I saw the guys leaving your house yesterday, are any of them anyone I should know?”
“No, not really, I mean they’re just Jaemin’s friends so I only really know Jeno and the rest I met officially yesterday.” Heeseung was quiet, watching as you opened your locker and fished through your bag to get what you needed. “Why’d you ask, is there something wrong with them?”
“No no, I was just curious, that’s all.” After closing your locker, you look up at Heeseung one last time before starting to walk backwards towards the girls shower room. “You know what they say, curiosity is the cats greatest weakness.” He laughs, watching as your face heats up from the slight embarrassment you’re feeling. “I’m more of a deer kinda guy.” Laughing yourself, you turn your back to him and leave him standing there against your locker while watching your figure become further and further away from him.
As the day progressed, more and more people were whispering about the mystery girl who sent Haechan the love letter and how he was actively looking for her. Your friends tried their best to keep news from being spread to one ear to yours, but they can’t stop every girl in class from talking about it without drawing suspicion. You were more than happy to be home after school had ended, coming into your house and dropping your bag off in your room before going into the kitchen. Searching through the fridge, you don’t find much appetizing and decide to just heat up leftovers. While the leftovers are reheating, a knock on your door surprises you.
You expect it to be one of your friends or even your brother who maybe forgot his key, instead when you open the door you’re met with a very smiley Haechan. “Jaemin isn’t home.” Immediately dropping his smile for a pout, Haechan didn’t seem pleased with your emotionless reaction to him being at your door. “I already knew that, he told me to come and wait for him till he and Jeno get home.” You give him a single nod, staring at him as he slowly curls his lips up into a grin. “So can I help you or are you just gonna stand there?”
“Inviting me in would be nice.” Rolling your eyes, you step aside and let Haechan come in, watching as he looks around as if he’d never been into your house before. “Don’t go into his room, I’m not going to be responsible for his temper if you mess with his stuff.” Ignoring you, Haechan disappeared down the hallway, leaving you in the kitchen to take out your warm leftovers and a bottle of water. Assuming he went to the bathroom or maybe came down into the living room, you take your food and go into your room to see a very comfortable Haechan sitting on your bed. “Please leave before I call the cops.” Haechan smiled at you, leaning back onto his elbows as he looked around your room. “You invited me in, so technically you’d be wasting your time calling them.”
“Should I call Nana instead?” Wincing, Haechan got off your bed with a smack of his lips and slowly made his way around your room. “Why are you still here, I thought I told you to leave.” Ignoring you, he pulled your chair out from your desk and plopped down into it. By this time, you knew there was no getting rid of him and you were too hungry to even care. Too caught up into the food in front of you, you failed to realize Haechan went stiff as he fiddled with the materials on your desk. Picking up the notebook on your desk, his fingers grazed across the paper as his heart started to beat rapidly against his chest. Something in you told you to look up, feeling your stomach drop as you watched him study the paper in his hands. Immediately getting up from your bed, you grab the notebook from his hands with flushed cheeks as he stays still, looking down at his empty hands.
“Y/n, I’m home! Is Haechan here?”
Your brother’s voice echoed into your room, the tension between the two of you made the room go quiet. “Y/n, did Hae—oh, what’s going on?” Jaemin was more than confused to see you staring down at Haechan with a pink tinted face. Haechan, who still didn’t move until his friend's voice brought him back in, blinked a little before getting up from the chair and left your room without a word. Jaemin was genuinely confused, tilting his head at you. You already knew he wanted to know if you were okay, to which you gave him a nod and he left it at that. The rest of the night that the boys were down in the living room, you stayed in your room and hoped that the earth would swallow you whole at any second.
Since that night, it had been a couple weeks that passed and to say that things were awkward at first would be an understatement. Haechan wouldn’t look you directly in the eye the first couple days following, not that you really cared—but it did leave you feeling a little uneasy at first. When you finally think that maybe all would go back to normal, Haechan started to become a little bolder anytime you were near and to say it made you flustered was also an understatement. Not sure if it’s the lack of romantic—not that you’re calling him romantic—interaction you’ve had with boys up until this point or if it’s the pure charismatic side of him that’s rubbing off onto you each time he attempts a bad joke, but you’ve almost grown accustomed to him being around now.
Your friends on the other hand don’t like it too much, Yunjin advising you to watch how close you get with him and for once rooting for Heeseung. Giselle just wants you to be happy whereas Chaewon thinks Haechan is a cute match for you and thinks you’d be cute with him. You don’t know why you’re daydreaming about either of the boys when you should be focusing on the class you’re in, but what snaps you out of it are the girls whispering not-so-quietly behind you. “I heard that Lee Haechan is going to ask the girl who wrote him the love letter a couple weeks ago to the Valentine’s Day dance.”
“No way, he knows who it is?” You can only imagine the girl shrugged. “Dunno, I think it’s someone who he dated in the past or even someone who he’s known for a while.”
“Really? I’ve heard it’s one of his friend’s friend, but none of them really have female friends, all I can think of is Jaemin’s sister.” You assume they were trying to whisper the last part a little quieter, but they weren’t exactly achieving that. “Whoever it is, they sure are lucky, I mean having both Lee’s of the school being cuffed for Valentine’s Day is a first.”
“Both Lee’s? You’re not talking about Heeseung are you, because if you are I’m going to be devastated.” You felt almost guilty for listening to them, but you pretty much didn’t have a choice and pretended to take notes as they carried on. “Girl, I’ve heard from this girl who was hooking up with Jake that Heeseung told him that he’s planning on asking his longtime crush out for the dance!”
You must haven’t been the only one to hear them, seeing as your teacher loudly cleared their throat which caught the attention of both the girls. The rest of the class went by relatively smoothly, but the thought of Heeseung asking another girl out for the dance really made your heart hurt a little bit.
“What’s on your mind?”
You had been back at home, sitting on your front stairs as the storm clouds started to brew in. “Dunno, just thinking.” Heeseung joined you, sitting beside you as the two of you watched the sky turn from blue to a dark grayish. “You know what I’ve been thinking about?”
“Hm?”
“I’ve been thinking about the Valentine’s Day dance.” Heeseung smiled at you, just a little, but it was enough to bring a smile onto your lips. “Oh really? Speaking of that dance, I’ve heard that you’re planning on asking someone to go with you?” He shrugs nonchalantly, pushing his hair back as you laugh and give him a slight shove. “Don’t be so cocky, it’s not a good look on you.”
“But it is on Haechan, right?”
You’re taken aback by his words, falling silent before looking up at him confused. “Where did that come from?” With a heavy sigh, his shoulders roll forward and he shrugs. “Dunno, you two seem to be getting close, just thought there was something going on between you two.” Looking down at your hands, you ponder on whether you two are getting close. Yes, you did hang around your brother and his friends a little more often than usual, but that wasn’t directly for Haechan—was it? “Nah, we just talk because he’s always at my house.”
“Speaking of always being at someone’s house, you sure are always at mine when yours is right next door.” Jaemin was staring down at Heeseung, no sign of emotion on his face while Haechan leaned from behind your brother to send a smile your way. “Yeah, I should get going—I, uh, I’ll talk to you tomorrow instead, y/n.” Just like that, Heeseung got up and left you alone to be completely furious with your brother. “What the hell was that?” Jaemin rolled his eyes at you, walking past you as you got up from the stairs and followed him inside. “Don’t start with me y/n, I don’t wanna do this with you right now.” Genuinely confused and more frustrated, you slam the door behind you and follow him into the hallway.
“Don’t start what, nana, how about you don’t start shit with my friends like I don’t start with yours.” Jaemin scoffed, physically moving his body as he rolled his eyes. “Please, don’t you think it’s a little weird that he’s always around the house and if he’s not by our front door, he’s all out his window trying to talk to you.”
“You’re saying this like it’s a problem, your friends are always in our house taking up our space and eating everything in our fridge and you have the nerve to complain about our neighbor?” The two of you got into a pretty heated argument that ultimately was put out by your mom. Jaemin claimed the living room, seeing that his friends were still outside due to the tension between you two and you went back outside to get fresh air as the other two boys went inside, leaving you and Haechan under the darkened clouds.
“Hey, I don’t know if this is the right time, but I was wondering if we can talk?” Letting out the heavy breath you didn’t know you were holding in, you nod and Haechan sits down on the steps as you do the same. He fiddles with his fingers for a while as you let the breeze brush against you and relax your mind. “The letter I got, the one I found in my locker a couple weeks ago, that was you wasn’t it?” You could feel the hairs rise on your arms, your mouth suddenly going dry as you choose not to look at his dejected face. “And it wasn’t meant for me..was it?” For some reason, the sadness lingering in his tone made your heart hurt more than it should’ve.
“No—it wasn’t for you.” Just as his head hung, a downpour of rain started and the two of you didn’t bother to move. Maybe it was the emotional stress of all that has been going on, maybe it was because of the sudden comforting feeling of sitting beside him with only the sound of rain filling in the space that silence once occupied. Whatever it was, you felt all aspects of your guard coming down and let everything you’ve kept to yourself out. “I’ve liked him for so long, ya know, that I thought that maybe if I just tell him about how I feel then he’d feel the same way.” You didn’t have to elaborate, Haechan already knew from what he’s seen of your interactions with Heeseung that the boy next door was the one of your interest.
“Surprise surprise, it didn’t even get to him and I’m pretty sure if it did, he’d reject me.” Haechan lifted his head, looking over at you with somber eyes. Trying to fight back the urge of crying in front of him like a child, you sucked in the tears that were threatening to fall down your cheeks and focused your attention on the rain coming down in front of you. “How about we test that theory?” Looking over at him, he was clearly thinking of something that could possibly end in the worst way. Somehow, that didn’t scare you away from the curiosity that was the thoughts in his mind. “And how exactly are we gonna do that?”
“Take my hand and find out.” This should’ve been your sign to just go inside and pretend that this wasn’t happening, that the thought of taking his hand didn’t ignite a fire in you that you never knew you had. Instead of listening to yourself, you let your heart's unwanted beating lead the way and put your hand into his. He guided you from underneath the shelter of the porch and into the rain which at first wasn’t the most pleasant experience. “What does catching a cold have to do with testing if he likes me or not?” Haechan was more than amused by your not so happy expression as the rain got heavier, leaving the two of you drenched in a matter of seconds.
“Dance with me.” You weren’t sure if he was delusional or just downright crazy, both sounding like the best description of him at this moment. “Are you crazy, I don’t get how th-“
“Just dance with me y/n, for once stop thinking about anything else and dance with me.” Looking down at your hand in his, you decided to trust him, even if it meant you’d regret it later. Taking a couple steps forward, you were shocked when Haechan lifted your hand and spun you around, earning a laugh from the both of you. Pulling you in, he rested both of his arms around your waist as you wrap yours around his neck. The two of you slowly rock back and forth as the rain doesn’t show signs of letting up anytime soon. “How long are we supposed to stay out here exactly?” He hums against your shoulder, sending chills down your spine. “Until he’s jealous enough to realize he’s missing out on an amazing girl.”
About to question him, you realize in the midst of dancing that Heeseung was watching the two of you from his house and somehow it didn’t make you feel the way you’d thought it did. “Guess we’ll have to stay out here forever.” Haechan laughed, lifting his head up to lock eyes with you. The view of his honey skin up close combined with the water dripping off the tips of his hair alone was enough to have your heart skyrocketing. The cherry on top of the cake was the little moles scattered across his face that you could only view close up that made the warmth of your cheeks turn a shade of pink. “Fine by me, I like the view from here better than I did before.” With your fingers playing through the back ends of his hair, you slowly started to pull him closer, hoping that the softness of his lips would collide with yours. Unfortunately for you, your brother opened the door and called out for his friend, wondering where he had gone.
“Haechan, where are you—oh.” Instantly separating, both you and Haechan created a great distance between one another as you both awkwardly looked at Jaemin with flushed faces. “I, uh, the boys wanted you to know it’s your turn..on the game.” Without word, Haechan walked into your house and you followed behind him, ignoring the weird looks the two of you got from everyone in the room. Running to your room and shutting the door, you locked yourself in until your mom later told you the boys had left and a very awkward moment between you and Jaemin was felt by your parents during dinner. Afterwards, you got ready for bed and got on call with the girls to fill them in about the day you’ve had and prepare yourself for the day to follow.
Tumblr media
The days that followed were not what you expected them to be. Haechan seemed to be avoiding you more than you thought he would whereas Heeseung was always around the corner and ready to spark conversation at any time. While you sit at the table with your friends in the lunch hall, your mind wanders off to your brother's table and your focus is on the boy whose laugh could be heard from a mile away. Your friends were too used to your spacing out to try and bring you back into the conversation, instead opting to watch you in a sad silence.
Heeseung made his way to your table instead of his, smiling down at you when you came back and saw him beside you. “What’s wrong?” Shaking your head, you dodge his question and instead push the tray away from you. “Nothing, just not feeling the lunch they served today.” Nodding, Heeseung nervously looks around for his friends who were silently rooting him on from across the hall. “Well, I was wondering if you still planned on going to the Valentine’s Day dance this weekend?”
“I guess, I mean I haven’t really thought much about it.” Overhearing your conversation, the girls all lean in and smile at the way Heeseung is looking at you. “Actually, we went dress shopping last week and y/n got the perfect dress.” Chaewon said proudly, propping her chin up onto her hands. “It’s pink, by the way, imagine a blush pink.” Yunjin adds in, winking at Heeseung as he nods knowingly at her. “Sounds like I’m going to go find a matching tie to go with your dress.” Shocked, you look at Heeseung with a confused expression as he then stands up with his friends rushing behind him. “Uhm—what are y—what’s going on?” By now, most of the lunch hall was looking over at your table and the embarrassment on your face was pretty evident.
“Na y/n, would you be my date to the Valentine’s Day dance—which in return is me asking you to be my valentine?” Overwhelmed was one way to put how you were feeling. The flowers his friends were holding along with the sign they passed to Heeseung and the pink tent of his face all made you feel persuaded that you should say yes. If you had asked yourself months ago what you would say in this instance, you’d immediately agree because this was a day you had been waiting for since you first met Heeseung and it almost saddens you how conflicted you are. Looking around the hall and seeing the sadness on Haechan’s face masked by the smile he wore, you didn’t know if your answer should’ve been swayed by a boy who didn’t even look in your direction since the near kiss experience.
“Uh, I—Heeseung, can we talk about this later?” A sea of ‘oohs’ and hushed whispers started to spread amongst the ones who were watching it all go down. If he was hurt, Heeseung sure didn’t show it as he gave you the same smile he always gave you and handed you over your flowers. “Of course, you know where to find me when you’re ready to talk.” Heeseung was sweet, probably one of the sweetest boys you’ve ever met, but your heart was begging you to clear the air before everyone gets hurt in the end and that’s exactly what you wanted to do. By the time you looked back over at your brother's table, all of his friends were still there, watching your reaction except the one person you’d hoped to see was now gone.
Sitting back down in your seat, all your friends looked at you in shock as you set the flowers down on the table. “I can’t believe you just rejected that man, in front of everyone!” Yunjin, like always, was the first one to say what was on her mind, but we’re not surprised. “It’s because of Haechan, isn’t it?” You didn’t have the courage to meet Giselle’s eyes, giving them all the answers they already knew. Pulling you in, they all gave you a hug from over the table and beside you as your jumbled up thoughts tried to sort themselves out.
When lunch was over and you walked back to your locker, you noticed everyone in the hallway was giving you strange looks and some even whispering amongst themselves when you passed by. Trying to keep your head up, you opened your locker and started to take out the necessary things for your next class when a note fell out. It was in a pink envelope, a heart sticker keeping it closed and it had your name on it when you flipped it over. Seeing how everyone was watching you, you shove it in your bag and opt to open it when you get home. Unfortunately for you, the stares and whispering didn’t let up and by the time you got home, you finally felt like you had some peace.
Instead of going straight inside, you walked around your house and saw Heeseung playing in his backyard with a couple of his friends from earlier. “Hey, ready for that talk?” Heeseung and the others looked your way, a smile being brought upon Heeseung’s lips when he saw you. “Yeah—Jake, tell Jay I’ll be in soon.” Jake gave him a nod and tiredly went inside, leaving you and Heeseung alone. “So, what’s up?” Walking over to the old swing-set he still had, you sit down and laugh at how far down it is to the ground. “Can’t believe we used to fight over whose feet would touch the ground first.” Heeseung joined you, smiling down at his legs before looking over at you. “Yeah, can’t believe you still beat me when I’m literally almost a foot taller than you now.”
“Don’t let the air up there go to your head.” The two of you laughed and reminisced for a moment until you both grew quiet and the lingering questions in the air were waiting to be answered. “I used to like you, a lot actually.” He didn’t meet your eyes, nor did you look in his direction, instead he remained quiet and let you say what you needed to say. “I don’t know exactly when it started, but one day I just couldn’t stop thinking about you and over all these years I never thought I’d be here, saying no to the one thing I always dreamed of.”
“You can’t control how you feel, y/n, if it wasn’t him, it was going to be someone else that caught your eye and unfortunately I was just too late.” Nodding, you felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness wash over you as you got up from his swing. “Don’t be so hard on yourself, I promise you I’m going to be happy as long as you’re happy.” The two of you hugged, embracing one another into a tight squeeze to savor the moment that you both knew was coming. The definition of your friendship would now never be the same, but in the same way it was a beautiful thing to come, even if it broke both of your hearts. “I’m always right next door if he does anything stupid, I mean it, literally throw a brick through my window if he doesn’t treat you right.”
“Don’t you mean you’ll throw a brick through his window if he doesn’t treat me right?” Looking up at him as you two pull back from the hug, he laughs at how he almost doesn’t make sense. “Whichever comes first, just know that a brick will be involved.” Laughing, you wave him goodbye and go back to your house. It was quiet when you got inside, knowing that Jaemin was home. Going straight to your room, you felt that it was safe to now let everything you’ve been bottling up now out, all the times you’ve felt so alone and not wanting to go to anyone was now tumbling out and the tears rolled down your cheeks. Jaemin knew, he always knew when you were sad and he immediately went into your room, meeting you on the floor and scooping you into his arms.
He always said it was a twin thing, how he knew you were sad and how you knew when he was sad. Somehow, after all these years, it still stuck with you both and despite this being the first time you’ve really interacted since your argument, it felt the most comforting. That night the two of you laid up on the couch watching movies of your childhood and ordered in once your parents got home. It was almost therapeutic to spend some quality time with your brother and even if he didn’t ask any questions, you knew he already had the answers he needed.
Later that night, you laid in bed and pondered over if you should read the letter that was left in your locker. Finally deciding on what harm it could possibly do, you got it out from your bag and opened it up. To your surprise, it was written similarly to yours and that in itself was a clue to who this could’ve been from. ‘Dearth favorite na twin, I’m writing this on the same day I found out you were the one who wrote the letter I got. Honestly, it hurt to know it wasn’t directed for me, but somehow I feel the universe knew what it was doing when it wound up in my locker. I regret not kissing you and I regret even more not talking to you afterwards, but maybe I can make up for it by asking you to be my date to the dance. Don’t answer now, answer when the time is right and if you don’t answer at all, I’ll take that as a yes. Love, your secret admirer.’
That night you held the letter to your chest, listening to your own heart beating to the thought of Haechan and rethinking over and over in your head how this all started and where it was now. Although it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster, you don’t think you’d change anything and probably for the first time in your life you were looking forward to the dance.
Tumblr media
The following days didn’t change much, people still gave you a look in the halls, but Heeseung and you were still pretty friendly both in school and out. It was now the weekend and the Valentine’s Day dance was tonight. To say you were nervous was an understatement, but the girls reassured you that they’d be by your side the entire night. Jaemin advised you to get ready at one of the girls' houses since his friends planned to be at yours and he knew you weren’t ready to see Haechan just yet. Thankfully for you, Giselle said you could all come to her house and the four of you spent the night that Friday and got up early the next morning to prepare yourselves.
“I say we drop our dates and take our little y/nie instead.” Yunjin gave your cheeks a squeeze, mushing your face with her fingers which earned a laugh from Giselle and Chaewon. After swatting her fingers away, you rub out the sore spots. “I told you that I’ll be fine, no one is dropping anything for anybody unless it’s on the dance floor.” Chaewon smacked your arm with a pillow, giggling as she fell over into your lap trying to do so. “That’s so wrong, don’t ever say anything like that again, I swear Jaemin is rubbing off on you.”
“Hello, they’re literally twins, it’d be weird if he didn’t.” Chaewon playfully glared at Giselle's matter of fact statement. “Speaking of twins, your brother wants us to do a group photo when we’re done.” You nod at Yunjin as she grabs her makeup bags and lays them out. She made sure to point out which products she thought would complement each of you, not forgetting her speech about how women don’t need makeup to feel pretty and overall her importance about empowering women. The three of you all looked at her with a smile, knowing she’d go far in life with the way she carries herself. “Enough of that, let’s get some breakfast and some lipstick because we are not ruining this lipstick for a taco later.”
After the three of you headed downstairs and munched away on a late lunch-breakfast, you went back upstairs and took turns showering before getting ready. Meanwhile, back at your house, the boys sat in your living room and played games all afternoon, per usual. “What do you think it’s going to be like tonight?” Renjun, who was seated next to Jeno, asked as he scrolled through his socials and saw the different pictures of people from school getting ready. “Probably lovesick, pink and sparkly.”
“Hey, don’t judge pink, my sister is wearing pink tonight.” Jaemin whipped his head around quick enough to shoot a glare at Jeno. “Half the student-body is going to be wearing pink, it’s literally a valentines dance.” Haechan added in, groaning loudly when he ended up losing his spot in the game and switched out with Jeno. “Speaking of a certain Na twin, she’s been quiet today, is she home?” Renjun asked out of curiosity, not missing the sadness it brought his friend. “No, she stayed at Giselle’s house and they’re getting ready there.”
“They?” Jeno asked, needing clarification. “Giselle, Chaewon, Yunjin and Y/n.” All the boys turned to give Haechan a weird look, the boy giving a shrug in return. “How do you know all my sister's friends' names?” Jaemin asked, raising a brow at Haechan. “She mentioned them when we would pass one another, nothing much about it.” The other three all knew he was bullshitting, not believing him for a second as they snicker amongst themselves. “Bro, we all know you like her, you don’t have to hide it.” Renjun was the first to say what everyone was thinking, making Haechan’s face turn red. “Shut up, I don’t like her—even if I did, she’s my best friend's sister, I’m not that kinda guy.” Jaemin frustratedly throws his controller down into his seat, switching out with Renjun and sitting beside Haechan.
“I know you’re not and I respect you for that, as much as I never thought I’d say this, just date my sister already.” Haechan was more than taken aback by Jaemin’s words, looking at him with wide eyes. “She’s really been down with you not around and I know for a fact that she likes you back.”
“And how are you so sure?” Jeno joins in, looking way too concentrated on the game to be butting in on a conversation. “It’s a twin thing, take that knowledge as you will.” The rest of the evening until they had to get dressed went without you being the topic of conversation, but it doesn’t mean it didn’t leave Haechan’s mind. With the knowledge he now had, he knew exactly what he needed to do when he saw you tonight and it starts out by getting to the dance early.
After you and the girls finished getting dressed, doing your hair and applying minimal makeup, it was time to head out and off to the dance you went after taking way too many pictures for your brother and parents. You were partly nervous to see Haechan in the crowd, but you kept telling yourself to keep it cool if you did. Keep it cool, how hard could that be? Very hard actually, seeing as the moment you walked in, he was near the entrance and looked way too good for your liking. Looking around, Haechan was impatiently waiting for you to arrive, a feeling of relief washing over him when he finally sees you. Your eyes lock with his and for a moment, he can’t seem to catch the breath you took from him. He doesn’t do well in math, but with the light hitting you in just the right spot and you overall looking breathtaking, it’s all adding up in his head how down bad he is for you.
Moving through the people coming in, he directly goes to you and gently grabs your hand. “Hi.” Smiling up at him, you can see the slight shade of pink in his cheeks. “Hi, hyuck.” If he were to fall out and go to heaven now, he would honestly be content with the use of a nickname from you for him. “Wanna take pictures with me?” Nodding, you let him lead you over to the photographer and a sudden sense of deja vu rushed over you as you think back to the day you two danced in the rain. Standing in line, the two of you were next up and after getting in a recommended position, your first picture of the night was taken. “Another one, this time, show me you’re in love.” Nodding at the photographer's second suggestion, you turn your head to Haechan who was leaning in. You weren’t sure where this was going, but you closed your eyes and braced yourself for whatever was going to happen. When his soft lips were met with your forehead, the picture was taken and the both of you left with red cheeks and racing hearts.
The lights weren’t dark just yet, but they were starting to dim as you two lingered around the dance floor. You spotted Heeseung from across the room and he sent you a thumbs up as you held Haechan’s hand. “Alright, let’s kick things off tonight with a special request from a certain someone who’s ready to tell his girl how he feels.” Haechan looked way too nervous to not have anything to do with the random song request as he led you out to the middle of the dance floor. Some students started to step back and give the two of you space as a single light shines down on you both. It started to feel like a movie, only this time it was your life. “Na Y/n, I’ve been waiting for this answer for quite some time now and if it hasn’t been obvious, I’m head over heels for you, so will you do me the honor and be my date to the valentines dance?”
You were sure your face was just as pink as your dress, covering your mouth to hide the fact that it was hung open. “Yes, I’d love to be your date.” As dramatic as it sounds, people clapped around you and when the song started to play, you took his hand and pulled him into your arms. The two of you slow-danced to songs that had your heart melting against his warm touch and the songs that were a little more upbeat was the perfect opportunity for you to ditch your date and dance amongst your friends while all of you smiled back at the boys who watched in envy. After the first couple of hours, you were ultimately exhausted and stepped off the floor to go get something to drink.
Haechan followed behind you, stopping at the drink station while you took the time to rehydrate. “Do you hear that?” He mumbled, staring off at the entrance which also doubled as the exit. “Hear what, hyuck?” A slow grin formed amongst his lips before he grabbed your hand and started to walk away. “Where are we going, hyuck I’m still thirsty!” You tried to protest with him, pulling him back to the station. After thinking you had won, you took another sip before being swept off your feet—literally. Haechan had scooped you up bridal style and started running out the exit with a childlike smile on his face. “Lee Haechan put me dow—oh!” When the two of you were now outside, you realized why he was so eager to come out and immediately started laughing as the two of you felt your clothes soaking up the rain that was falling down.
Putting you down, he immediately pulled you against him and held your waist. “I’m not gonna make the same mistakes I did before.” Smiling softly at him with your hands resting on his shoulders, you rub at his neck. “Making up for lost time, I guess.” He shook his head, laughing under his breath before leaning in and connecting his lips to yours. The feeling felt almost electric, a spark going through your body and spreading chills across your skin. You never knew a kiss, a simple kiss could captivate you the way it is now. Maybe it was because the two of you had longed for this for too long and a mix of the rain and the salt from your sweat coming down onto your lips, whatever it was, you knew you’d made the right decision the day you wrote a failed attempt at a love letter. Even if it didn’t end up in the right locker number, locker #66 would forever be your favorite.

We’re Just Friends
Tumblr media
“Babe where are you?” you said to yourself while waiting in the school halls for class. You sat by your locker patiently waiting for your lover to show up. It had been almost an hour since he last texted you, and being late was never really his style. As you continued to wait, you swiped open your phone and scrolled through pictures of you and your boyfriend. “Heesung you make me so happy.” “Well I’m glad that I can make you happy.” You were so deep into your own space, you were unaware you were thinking out loud. You were also unaware that Heesung had slowly popped up behind you.
“Baby! Hi! Where were you?” you said as you hugged him. “Sorry ran a little behind schedule thanks to this guy.” You looked to see that Niki was also standing beside him. “Niki… did that really happen?” you said with a smile. “Of course not y/n. He’s the one that almost overslept again! Honestly what would you do if you didn’t have me Heesung? You’d probably drop out of college.” “Ahh whatever.” Heesung said playfully while messing up Niki hair. “Ahhh cut it out.” Niki said while straightening his hair. You laughed at the two of them as they played around until you looked down at your phone to check the time. “Shit I’m gonna be late. Bye baby I’ll see you later at lunch.” With a quick kiss, you turned and headed for your first class of the day.
“Hey y/n! Almost late again huh?” You turned to see your two friends and classmates Sunoo and Karina heading towards you. “And I see you two are walking together again.” you said as you let out a sly grin. “As if I would ever give Sunny here a chance. He has a better chance with Winter.” Karina said in snarky voice while trying to avoid looking in Sunoo’s direction. “And you have no chance of passing chemistry without me so I’d choose my words wisely missy.” “Ouch!” You laughed as you watched the two of them go back and forth. “Karina just give in. The way you two go back and forth all day with each other makes it seem like your already a couple. Besides Sunoo is head over heels for you” As you said that you could see Sunoo face turn from pale pale white to red instantly. “Hold on for one second y/n. Don’t try shipping us.” All you could do is laugh in response to Sunoo’s reply. “Did you finally confess Sunoo? About time.” “Karina you be nice to him.” You continued to laugh as your other friends and classmates, Winter and Ning-Ning walked up. “Oh my god you guys! Stop it!” Karina said while trying to hide her blushing face. “No way! He likes you and you like him! Besides he’s a sweetheart.” “I’m going inside the class.” Sunoo said as he paced away to his table. “I hope class goes fast today. I’m starving.” you said as you and the rest of your classmates walked into class. “It’s 9:00 in the morning. Do you ever stop eating y/n?” Winter said while taking her seat right behind you. “Of course not. All Heesung ever does is feed her and spoil her.” Karina said as she and Ning-Ning took there seats in front of you. All you could is smile in response.
Time slowly paced by as you sat in class. You tried to focus, and write notes as the teacher went on explaining the lesson, but even that wasn’t enough to stop you from thinking about Heesung. You sat reminiscing on all of your memories together. You had known him since the two of you were kids. He grew up two house down from you, and would often spend a lot of time at the park playing along side you and Niki. Some days, it would be just you two spending time with one another. You would ride bikes, eat ice cream, and watch movies together. You were only nine at the time these things happened, but you were sure you were in love with Heesung, even if you didn’t fully understand what it meant to be in love. Over time your bond with both Heesung and Niki grew making you inseparable, but as you got older, it was Heesung that you spent most of your time with making the feelings that you had for him even stronger. While he occasionally dated other girls that you knew, it would make you jealous in a way, but it never stopped the feelings you had for him. It wasn’t until senior year of high school that you both confessed how you felt for one another. From that moment in life, you had finally gotten the one person you wanted to be with. You felt you had the perfect life and the perfect boyfriend. Even now in your senior year of college you felt the same way you felt for all those years.
“Y/N!” You snapped out of your thoughts as Winter, Karina, and Ning-Ning stood in front of your table. You were unaware that the bell had rang for class to end.“You were daydreaming about Heesung again I bet.” Ning-Ning said smiling while looking you dead in the eyes. You were face was such a bright red that you couldn’t deny what she had just said. “So are you pleading the fifth on that?” Karina said while playfully waving your phone around. “Give me my phone. Why don’t you go and talk to your boyfriend he’s right over there.” You said smiling while pointing in Sunoo’s direction. “Really y/n?” Sunoo said while looking in disgust at Karina. “Well she’s not denying it right now. She hasn’t said anything.” Winter said while smiling at Karina. “Anyone hungry?” Karina said while trying to dodge the question you had asked. “Me! Let’s go!” You said with an excitement in your voice. “Your paying this time right Karina.” You said while walking towards the door. “Let me check my account. Baby are you paying this time?” Karina said with a pouty face looking at Sunoo. “Oh my god. Fine…” Sunoo said while shaking his head and heading for the door.
As you and your friends walked towards you pulled out your phone. You checked your notifications and then scrolled to your messages to see if Heesung had texted you. “Hmmm.” you said in pouty voice. “What is it y/n?” Sunoo said while trying to look into your phone before being hit on the shoulder by Karina. “Ouch! Karina what the hell?” Sunoo said with a slightly annoyed voice. Karina looked at Sunoo with an equally annoyed face. “Since when is it cool to ever look into someone else’s phone?” Karina said with a disgusted voice. “Since when is it cool for me to be paying for your lunch again?” Sunoo said with the same amount of disgust in voice before turning back to you. “Anyways what’s wrong y/n?” “Hubby can’t make it to lunch.” you said as you continued to pout. “Awww poor baby? Is it really that bad?” Ning-Ning said while scrolling through her phone. “Yes!” You said in an instance.
You were so bummed in the moment that you didn’t feel an arm wrap itself around your shoulders. “He stood you up? Don’t worry miss I’ll be your date.” Niki said while smiling and walking. Seeing Niki made you smile while also prompting you keep going along with what he had just said. “Date? Who said this was a date?” “I did. It’s on me.” Niki said whispering in your ear in a attracting voice causing you both to laugh. “Well hello there Niki.” Karina said in a similarly attractive voice. “Save that for Sunoo.” “Oh great you too Niki?” Sunoo said while putting his hand over his face. “It’s pretty clear she likes you. Take the chance.” “For the love of g-“ Karina said while pacing off towards the doors of the dining hall.
Your friends went in different directions once you entered the dining hall, while you and Niki went and grabbed food from the same area. “So did he say where he was and why he couldn’t make it?” You nodded your head no in response to Niki’s question “He’s probably studying or something.” You said prompting Niki to laugh in response. “Well I hope that’s going well.” Niki said in a sarcastic voice. “Cut it out Niki. It’s okay. He’s busy I can understand that.” “Yeah you’re right. Everything is okay. You got me. You always will.” Niki said smiling at you. “Okay?” You said smiling a bit awkwardly and not sure of how to respond to what he had just said. “Hey you two! What’s taking so long?” You both had turn to see Karina and Winter signaling for you. “Oh right forgot we have to pay!” You said as you trailed off behind Winter and Karina. You approached the register with your wallet in had ready to pay before Niki grabbed your wallet from your hand. “Niki you don’t really have to pay for me. I can pay for myself.” “I told you it’s on me.” Niki said smiling before inserting his card into the card reader. You tried to hide your smile but you could feel Winter and Karina looking and smiling right at you.
Just as you and Niki headed towards the table where the rest of your friends were sitting, Karina pulled you to the side. “I’m so jealous of you.” Karina said giving you a sly grin. “What are you talking about?” You said with a bit of confusion. “You not only have a hot boyfriend, but a hot best friend who I can obviously tell really likes you.” “Karina stop it. Me and Niki have been friends since we were kids. Its never been that way between the two of us.” “So you’re telling me that not once have you ever felt differently about him?” Karina said smiling. “No of course not!” You said while trying to keep your voice down. “Say what you want but I know he likes. True enough you have Heesung, but I feel something between the two you. He genuinely loves you.” “Okay love doctor. While your so concerned with me and my best friend, why can’t you put this much energy into telling Sunoo how you feel about him?” You reply was enough to make her walk away towards the table as you followed behind her laughing. “So what were you two talking about?” Sunoo said before taking a sip of his drink. “Karina wants to ask you out.” You said laughing before taking a seat with your plate. “Y/N really!?” Karina said before throwing a piece of fruit at you. “Real funny y/n.” Sunoo said before turning away from Karina.
After eating lunch, you and your friends walked the courtyard of the school. “I’m so bummed I got a test for my next class.” Karina said pouting. “You did study right?” Sunoo said while staring directly at Karina. “Yes?” “Great. I’ll see you at the library in an hour.” Sunoo said sarcastically while shaking his head and walking away. “I just remembered I have literature class so I’ll catch you all later.” Ning Ning said before heading towards the literature hall. “Y/N do you have any other classes today?” Niki said while continuing to walk. “No chemistry was the only class I had. So I guess I’m going to head back to my room.” “Lucky.” Winter said while scrolling through her phone. “Yeah I know right.” Karina said while continuing to pout. “Do you want me to walk you back to your room?” As Niki said that, your face turned bright red causing Winter and Karina to both look at you with smile. “No it’s okay Niki. I can make it by myself.” “What she means is yes I would love for you to walk me to my room Niki! Please!” Karina said in a playful sarcastic voice. “Karina!” You said while hiding your red face. “Seriously I’m okay Niki.” “Okay I understand. I’ll catch up with you later. Bye y/n.”
As Niki walked away you let out a sigh of relief only for Winter and Karina to walk side by side of you with smiles on their faces. “So are you sure you don’t feel the same about him?” Karina said while laughing slightly. “Yes Karina! For the last time we are friends and nothing more.” You said feeling slightly annoyed. “I wish my friend walked me to my room. Your lucky. He’s super sweet!” Winter said while wrapping her arm around your arm. “Not you too Winter. Seriously?” “I know Mr. Perfect is your boyfriend, but seriously honey Niki and you are a perfect fit for each other.” Winter said while walking ahead of you. “Heesung is all I need. Besides I doubt Niki has any feelings for me. He’s known me his entire life.” “I don’t know about that.” Karina said while still smiling. “Oh my god!” Winter said out loud. “What is it?” you said before stopping. “Taeil from my astronomy class just asked to meet up with me!” “Taeil?” Karina said looking disgusted. “You mean the cute one that’s like super nerdy?” “Yes him! And what’s wrong with nerdy?” Winter said feeling slightly offended. “Nerds are just not my type.” Karina said while continuing to look disgusted. “Will you come with me Karina?” “Why me?” Karina said while sighing. “Please. I don’t wanna go alone.” Winter said while pouting. “Fine I guess.” Karina said reluctantly. “Have fun Winter.” You said laughing softly. “Bye y/n!” Winter said while pulling Karina by the arm and walking away.
After ten minutes, you finally reached your dormitory. You approached your room door after exiting the elevator, sticking the key in and opening the door. You closed the door behind as you walked in, sliding your shoes to the side and laying down in your bed. You opened your laptop to a picture of you, Niki, and Heesung from your high school senior trip to the States. “We’re just friends and nothing more.” you thought to yourself as you continued to smile and look at the picture. Your focus shifted to Niki in the photo completely. You knew that there was some truth to what Karina had said earlier. Niki was your best friend, and you were very aware of how he felt about you when you were kids. You recalled having a small crush on him when you were younger, but you thought nothing more of it. It was always you and Niki until Heesung entered your life. “What if it was you Niki? How would we be as a couple?” You thought quietly to yourself as you laughed. Back then it was so easy for you to tell how Niki was feeling. He was like an open book to you being He would tell you everything no matter what it was. Years later during high school, and even now in college, he began to get a bit quiet in regards to how he felt about anything. He went from being an open book to more or less a closed off person that just went with the flow, but even with that you both continued to have an amazing friendship and bond.
“Im thankful for you Niki.” You said as you slowly drifted asleep.

The Confession?
Tumblr media
You were awaken by knocks on your door. You looked drowsy eyed at your phone to see it was 7:00 p.m. Slowly you pulled yourself out of bed and made your way to the door. Still somewhat half asleep you unlocked the door not bothering to ask who was there. “Baby! Hi!” you said excitedly realizing it was Heesung and Niki. “Hey there sleepy head. Did you miss me?” Heesung said while running his fingers down the side of your face. You nodded and smiled in response as you slowly moved in to hug him. “Oh I’m sorry! Hi Niki!” Niki waved in response from down the hall slightly smiling. “How was your day?” Heesung said while smiling at you. “Better now that I see you.” You said in response while continuing to hug him. You let go of Heesung, inviting both he and Niki in.
“You slept almost all day.” Niki said while walking towards your laptop desk. You felt something was wrong with Niki but thought nothing of it as you focused on Heesung again. “So what brings you to my domain good sir?” You said to Heesung while playfully running your hand through his hair.” “Well I missed you.” “And Karina and Winter invited us over to their place for a game night.” Niki said as he looked in to you and Heesung’s direction. “Oh great she’s having another game night? Why didn’t she say anything about this earlier?” You said while turning to your closet. You knew that a game night at Karina’s was anything but a normal night. She and Winter lived off campus in apartment together, so school rules were pretty much nonexistent. You knew pretty much every game she played from top to bottom, and you also knew that she pretty big on drinking games. “You know Karina and Winter plan stuff last minute. So you can just about imagine how the night is gonna end.” Niki said while turning pages in one of your notebooks. “You wanna go?” Heesung said while grabbing you and pulling you closer. You smiled in response and kissed him while Niki shook his head in disgust and continued going through your notebooks.
You grabbed a hoodie and the three of you made your way out the door and into the elevator. You and Heesung held hands and talked playfully before you noticed Niki walking ahead of you both as if he didn’t want to be bothered. “I wonder what’s wrong?” You thought to yourself as continued to walk. As the three of you approached Karina and Winter’s door you could tell something was visibly bothering Niki. “Niki are y-“ “Y/N, Niki, Heesung! Welcome! Come on in” Before you could say anything, Karina and Winter opened the door greeting and inviting the three of you inside.
Once you entered, you were met with music playing, and a few people that you were familiar with sitting around on the floor. You knew Taeil from last semester thanks to having one class together, and because he was the one Winter was interested in. You saw Sunoo talking with Jisoo, Ryujin, and Yeonjun from chemistry class. You turned to see Heesung talking with Karina, while Niki was sitting off in a chair in front of the television. Before you could walk over in Niki’s direction you were cut off by Winter handing you a glass with a dark red liquid in it. “Enjoy that.” Winter said while smiling and singing the words to the song that was playing. “Mmm.” You said as you took a sip from the glass. You were familiar with the taste of Sangria as it was one of your favorite wines. “How much have you two had tonight?” You said while turning towards Winter. “Surprisingly none. I’m trying to loosen him up first.” You looked as she pointed in Taeil’s direction who you could see had a smaller cup in his hand. “He looks nervous.” “Yeah drinking and gatherings aren’t exactly his cup of tea, but I really wanted him to come.” Winter said while smiling and winking her eye as Taeil looked from across the room.”
“Hey Karina mind if I play your switch?” Niki said sitting in front of the television. “Sure go ahead.” Karina said before pouring a glass of pink wine for herself. “So you bought both of them I see.” Winter said smiling before taking a sip of wine from your glass. You had coughed from swallowing the wine in response to her question. “It’s the other way around. He was the one who told me about this. He’s also been acting a bit distant tonight.” “Maybe you should try talking to him. I want you both to have a both to have a good time. Besides your amongst all of your friends.” You nodded and smiled before taking another sip from the glass. “Winter?” “Yeah?” Winter said before turning to walk away. “So there is something I have to talk to you about.” As you said that, Winter walked in closer. “So I-“ “Hey baby. Hey Winter.” Before you could say anything you were cut off by Heesung wrapping his arms around you. “Hey there Mr. Perfect. Came to snatch my woman from me?” Winter said jokingly. “Just for a few mins. I’ll bring her back I promise.” Heesung said while smiling at you. “Very well. We’ll talk later y/n. You two have fun now!” Winter said before walking off.
“You okay?” Heesung said while looking at you. You nodded your head yes in response, but truthfully you weren’t. You were concerned about Niki. He hadn’t said one word to you since you all left your room. You kept wondering if you had said something or did something that may have upset him. “I’m okay. I promise. Are you enjoying yourself?” “I am. I hate I can’t stay though.” “Why?” You said with a pouty face. “I’m meeting up with a few of my classmates to do some late night studying.” “This late though?” You said while still pouting. “I’ll make it up to you I promise y/n” Heesung said before kissing you softly on the lips. “Okay fine, but just so we are clear that’s twice today. You owe me lunch.” You said while smiling. “Done. I’ll deliver it to your door.” Heesung said while trailing his fingers down the side of your face. With another kiss, you watched as Heesung walked out the door.
You then averted your attention to Niki, who was focused on the video game. You walked in his direction wondering if he would actually tell you what was wrong, or would he just tell you he’s okay? “Hey Niki.” You said before sitting in a chair next to him. “Hey.” “Is something bothering you? You haven’t said too much of anything since we got here.” “I’m fine y/n.” Niki said dryly while continuing to focus on the game. “You would tell me if there was something wrong right Niki?” As you said that Niki paused the game while slowly turning in your direction. “You know I would y/n. I’d tell you in an instant.” “Do you promise?” You said while holding your arms open for a hug. “Yes I promise.” Niki said while softly patting and rubbing your head before turning back to the television screen. You couldn’t help but smile as you walked off. All the worrying about Niki was washed away like a wave of water crashing down on a beach.
You continued enjoying yourself as the night went on. You sat on the couch, eventually falling asleep. “Y/N! Y/N!” You were slowly awaken by what sounded like distorted voices. “Ugh… keep it down. My head is pounding.” “You are a total light weight you know?” Karina said giggling at you while continuing to clean up. “Shut up…” you said slightly slurring your words. You tried to move to your body to get off the couch, but your body felt like a ton of weights. The most you could do is move your head to the right of you to see Karina and Winter cleaning while Niki was wrapping up trash bags and carrying them out the door. “Heesung…” you said out loud. You pouted for a few minutes before realizing both Karina and Winter looking at you slightly confused. “What?” You said while placing your hands over your face. “Your definitely intoxicated” Winter said while laughing. Intoxicated was not the word you would use to describe yourself in this moment, but your body would disagree with you. You felt as if you were floating in an ethereal space trying to think of what to do to get your body to move off the couch, but nothing worked as you continued to lay in the same spot. “Alright that was the last of the trash. How is she doing?” You turned your head to see Niki walking towards you. “Very much intoxicated. Can you get her home Niki?” Karina said before taking a seat right next to you. “Anyone ever tell you that you and Sunoo would so cute together?” You let out a snicker, prompting Karina to look at you in disgust as a response. “Okay come on let’s go before Karina kicks both of us out. Literally.” Karina continued to look at both you and Niki while contemplating the idea of kicking you both out with her boot literally. “Alright come on my light weight.” Niki said as he slowly bent down to mount you on his back. You continued to shout and laugh as Niki carried you out of the door, not really thinking much of what you were saying.
You found yourself gazing out at the night sky as Niki carried you on his back. You always found the starry night skies beautiful as a child. As you stared, you started to reminisce on those nights you and Niki would play outside way past your curfew. “Those were good times in life.” Niki said while continuing to walk. “Hmm?” “All those nights where we played around at the park, and grab snacks from the 7/11 store knowing we weren’t supposed to be anywhere near downtown with out my mom.” You laughed quietly to yourself as Niki continued on with the story. “Are you reading my mind or something honey?” You said before laying your head down on his shoulder. You could see Niki smiling before eventually coming to a stop.
“Awww why are we stopping?”
“Look ahead!” Niki said with excitement. You looked up to see a 7/11 mart ahead of you. Your face lit up with excitement as Niki ran carrying you his back. “I can’t believe as much as I have walked this neighborhood I never seen this.” You said before jumping off his back. Niki smiled, nodding in agreement with you before opening the door. “After you my lady.” “Aww your such a charmer.” You said before walking in. You felt like a kid in a candy store as you look around at the shelves. They had candies and chips that reminded you of your childhood. “So do you know what you want?” “I want noodles and dumplings” you said pouting. Niki smiled as he walked to back to grab noodles and dumplings for the both of you. You watched Niki as he put the noodles in the microwave to warm. There was a feeling that made your heart race for a second. You knew Niki was your friend, but from his actions, and the way you interacted made it feel like more than that. You were so thankful for him being in your life.
“Oh could I have a melon milk tea please?” You said as you grabbed the drink from the freezer. “Make it two.” Niki said while smiling at you. “Yay!” You felt giddily as you walked towards him with the drinks. “Ahh done.” Niki said as he pulled out the noodles. “Oh my god! They look amazing.” You said with a happy voice. Niki smiled and walked away towards the register to pay for the items you bought as you set the table for the both of you. Niki made his way back to the table sitting across from you. You both grab the chopsticks and high five one another just before chowing down.
“Hey Niki?” “Yeah?”
“Why don’t you have a girlfriend?”
You could see Niki almost choke as you asked that question. “Wait what?” Niki said as if he didn’t hear you. “Why don’t you have a girlfriend? We’ve been around each other all of our life and I have never seen you so much as show an interest in someone. I mean there’s gotta be at least one person you’ve shown interest right?” “Let’s change the topic.” Niki said while avoiding your question. “Ooooh! So there is someone? Tell me about her.” “No because there is no one.” You could tell he was lying, and you could also tell he wanted to avoid your question by any means possible. The two of you were always honest with one another growing up and even now that never changed. You had never seen Niki interested in anyone other than you when you were kids, let alone he never talked much about being in love or any type of feelings that related to that topic. It was such a gray part of his life, but you could tell by his reaction that there was something he wasn’t telling you.
“So there’s literally no one you have ever had any feelings for at all.” You said while looking him directly in the eyes. “Just one.” Niki said while averting his eyes from your direction. You sat up excitedly waiting for him to continue.
“So tell me about her.” Niki let out a sigh and took a sip of his drink before continuing on. “So there is one person I’ve had feelings. In fact I’ve had feelings for a while.” “Is she pretty?” You said jokingly. “She’s beautiful.” Niki said while smiling. “She’s an amazing person to be around. She’s the highlight of my day. Being in her presence makes everything better. We have a lot in common.” As he said that, you began to think about who this person could possibly be. It definitely wasn’t anyone from your group of friends, but you didn’t rule it out either. You snapped out of your thoughts before asking another question. “So have you told her how you feel?” You could feel his energy change as you asked that question. His smile suddenly disappeared and suddenly his voice became a bit more serious. “Well… that’s the problem. I can’t bring myself to tell her how I feel.” “Why not?” You questioned.
“Because I’m afraid. Not just afraid of rejection, but also losing this person. When I’m around her I can barely form the words to tell her how I feel about her. I don’t know if she feels the same about me, and honestly that’s the scariest part.” You could tell whoever this person was meant a lot to him. You hearing him speak his feelings aloud made you smile, but it still made you question who it may have been. You slowly grabbed his hands and held them up hoping it would comfort him. “Niki. You are one the sweetest people I know. Anyone who gets to know you is extremely lucky because you are amazing. I don’t know who the person is, but it sounds like you don’t just like her. It sounds and feels like you are in love with her.” You could see Niki’s smiling again as you said that. It made you even happier to know that your words could comfort him. “If I ever meet her and she doesn’t feel the same way about you, I’m definitely going to tell her to look in the mirror and realize that she’s missing out on something that’s truly amazing.
“Some advice you should take for yourself.” Niki said before letting go and walking towards the door. You wondered what he meant by that, but you didn’t think much on it. “You can’t just get up and leave your trash.” You said jokingly. “I bought the food. That’s your way of paying me back.” Niki said before running out the door. You trailed behind him after throwing away the trash.
For the rest of the walk it was quiet. You kept thinking back to what Niki said earlier. You tried not to dwell on it, but you found yourself constantly thinking about who it could’ve been that Niki was talking about. Was it you? As much as you wanted to shoot down the possibility of it being you, it seemed as if the person he talked about sounded a lot like you. You loved Heesung, but you also loved Niki. True enough you got over your crush you had on him as a kid, but what you felt for him was still there. He was afraid of rejection just like you were afraid of him rejecting you when you were younger. “Why couldn’t I just bring myself to tell him back then.” You thought to yourself. You knew the answer. You had chosen Heesung, and as much as you wanted to tell Niki what you were feeling, you knew telling him everything now would only make things more complex between the two of you.
You continued walking eventually reaching your room. “Well we are here.” Niki said while smiling at you. “Yeah.” “I’ll see you tomorrow?” You nodded in response to his question. “Goodnight y/n.”
“Niki wait!” “Took you long enough.” Niki turned only to kiss you softly. The warm feeling from kissing his lips were enough to make everything you were thinking disappear. You felt like you were in a dream scenario as you kissed Niki again, but a dream was all it would ever be as you slowly snapped out of your thoughts. “You okay y/n?” “Niki I-“
“I love you.” You tried to retract your words as you realized what you said. You just told your best friend that you loved him. Unsure of how he would respond, you braced yourself. “I love you too. Good night y/n. You felt your heart drop for a second as Niki. As you walked inside your room, you were unsure of what just happened and what to feel. Your mind and heart were telling you two different different things in the moment. Your heart was fixated on the fact that you confessed unknowingly to your best friend that you were in love with him, while your mind was telling that the two of you only love each other as friends, and nothing more. You tried to forget about it as you laid in bed, but nothing worked as you continued to think of Niki.
“I really do love you Niki. I meant that.”
Your thoughts from the night before combined with no sleep whatsoever poured into the following day. You sat quietly in class even your friends are wondering what was wrong. You couldn’t focus one bit. You could feel your phone vibrating from the amounts of notifications you were receiving but not even that was enough to avert your thought. Niki was the only thing on your mind.
As you walked out of your lab class for the day, you realized Heesung was standing right in front of the door way. “Hi baby.” You wrapped your arms around him tightly as he did the same in return before you slowly pulled away. “That’s all I get? First no morning meet up and now no kissies from you. You could tell he was joking but you couldn’t form a sentence to reply. Instead you kissed him but not with the excitement and feeling that you always felt. “You okay?” You honestly wanted to tell him what was going on in your head and what your heart was feeling, but instead you opted to lie. “Yes I’m okay just kind of cram studying for my next exams have me tired. Are you okay?” “I’m even better now than I have you in my arms.” You smiled faintly but it was gone in an instant as you thought of Niki again. “Oh shoot. I gotta go baby. We should get lunch later. Sound good?” You nodded as he kissed your lips and walked off in the other direction.
“So what was that all about?” You were so out of it that you didn’t hear or notice Karina walking up. “Long story.” “Let’s walk and talk.”
“So what’s going on?” You could feel your heart racing as you were asked that question. “So I- I told Niki I loved him last night.” You could see Karina smiling from excitement. “How did he take it?” As happy as you wanted to seem, the thoughts plus mixed feelings about the entire situation still bothered you. “Well… he said he love me too but…” You and Karina both came to a stop as you paused your sentence. “I don’t think he meant it the way I meant it last night. I think he meant it purely from a friend standpoint, and honestly it stings a bit. I don’t even understand why I’m feeling the way I am right now. I haven’t been able to focus or sleep. I acted like Heesung didn’t even exist today. I feel so stupid.” You and Karina took a seat at a near by bench. She tried to comfort you as much as she could, but was unsure of what to do. Truthfully it did sting. You felt like your heart was rip out and stomped, but your conflicted emotions also made it hard to understand whether these feelings were right or wrong.
“You’re in love.” Karina said while hugging you. “I love Heesung. What do I do? I could never hurt Heesung like that.” “I’ll be honest y/n, I don’t know.” Karina tried to come up with any possible answer she could hoping it would help feel better about the situation but it didn’t help. “Winter is better at this kind of thing than I am. I have complications myself.” “Like what?” You sat up at full attention as Karina grabbed her bag ready to walk off. Karina let out a sigh before saying anything. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think I do like Sunoo.” You tried to hide your laughter as much you could but Karina had already caught you. “Why did you let this happen?” “Don’t look at me. We already knew it was going to happen.” You said while continuing to laugh. You and Karina continued to walk before she had to leave for another class. For a few minutes you were smiling before finding yourself in your thoughts again.
“Why can I just forget about this?”
The rest of your day consisted of stress, confusion, and not being to focus on anything. The day felt torture more than anything else. You made it back to your room hoping a nap would help make you feel better, but even that didn’t help you. “Being in love is so complicated. What the hell do I about this?” You threw your face into your pillow, letting out a long sigh before sitting back up thanks to your phone ringing. Not caring to see who it was, you slipped in one of your headphones and answered the call. “Hello?” “That’s a kind of dry way to say hey to your best friend.” Not being able to focus on anything today was one problem, and now the person that was responsible for you feeling the way you felt is on the the other end of the phone. Things were definitely going wrong today. “Hey Niki.” “You don’t sound okay. Is something wrong?” If only he knew the shit day that you had all thanks to him being on your mind. That would’ve been enough to end the conversation right there, but you couldn’t let him know that. “I’m fine. Just a little tired. Classes drained me out today.”
“Aww man I’m sorry to hear that.” “Anyways what’s up?” You both went quiet for a second before Niki responded. “I wanted to grab lunch for us. I wanted to go back to that 7/11 from last night if you were interested?” As much as you wanted to say yes, you didn’t wanna make the situation anymore complicated than what it already was, and you had already made plans with Heesung. “I’m sorry Niki. I told Heesung that I’d have lunch with him today.” “It’s okay I understand.” You could tell he was a a bit disappointed by the sound of his voice. “I’m sorry.” “Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault. There’s alway next time.” Niki said trying to a positive attitude. “Yeah sure.” You tried to keep yourself together while also feeling that Niki was completely bummed out at your response. “I’ll talk to you later y/n.” “Bye Niki.” You said before hanging up. After hanging up, you felt worse than before. You felt like the most terrible person alive for turning down Niki in exchange for Heesung, but at the same time with the way today went you honestly just wanted to be alone. A few minutes later while trying to get your head together, there was a knock at your door.
“Hey baby.” You opened the door to see Heesung standing with bags of food. “Delivered as promised.” You smiled as you let him in thanking him for the food. “Maybe I can try and forget about it just for a minute. Please give me a break.” You said to yourself before closing the door.

It’s More Complicated Than I Thought

“Not gonna lie, girl this is a lot to take in even for me.” You laid your head down on the library table in defeat. You explained everything that had been going on lately to Winter expecting a different answer, but not even she knew what to do. “So you’re saying I’m fucked and that there’s no clear cut way to fix this.” You said as you threw your hands up covering your face. “No honey I’m not saying that. What this is all comes down to is what are you going to do?” Winter said as she grabs your hands. “I don’t know Winter. I have million thoughts of Niki running through my mind every second. I can’t even begin to tell you the shit show of a day I had yesterday.” “Have you talked to Heesung?” You sighed out of disappointment. “He bought me lunch yesterday and he stayed with me for a bit but even with that I could barely say two words because I was so deep in my head.” As you covered your face, Winter hugged you, hoping it would bring you some comfort. “So any progress while I was gone? Both you and Winter nodded no as Karina approached the table with drinks in her hand. “Here this is for you honey.” Karina said as she handed you a strawberry milk tea. “Thank you.” “I know you’re confused right now but we’re going to figure it out.” Karina’s word made you feel a lot better. The three of you spent the next hour studying while also making conversation before Winter and Karina left for their classes for the day.
You walked campus for the rest of your morning. Bored of just walking, you decided to walk back to your room and just kill time. “Hi y/n!” You were joined by Ning Ning as you walked back to your room. “Hey Ning. How are you?” “Packing my brains for my last classes before we leave out for break.” “Break?” You said as you were confused. “Spring break?” “Oh yeah. I forgot that even existed.” You and Ning Ning laughed as you continued to walk across campus. The more you talked, the better your day was getting. You didn’t think about the situation that was going on in the moment. For once you had a piece of mind. You had finally made it to your dormitory after walking for what felt like forever. You and Ning Ning both stayed on the same floor so you both decided to take the elevator instead of you taking the stairs like you usually do. As you waited for the elevator to stopped, you pondered should you talk to Ning Ning about your situation. You had talked to your other friends, but you got no answer that would help comfort you. Ning Ning wasn’t the biggest on relationships but she always gave you the best advice out of all your friends. “Well I’ll see you later y/n.” “Wait Ning I-…” You grabbed Ning Ning by the arm as the elevator doors opens. Ning Ning could tell by your expression something was definitely wrong.
“I need some advice.”
“Of course honey.” You both stepped off the elevator going to Ning Ning room instead of yours. Ning Ning unlocked and opened the door to her room letting you in. You had been to Ning Ning’s room before but not long enough to truly appreciate how aesthetically pleasing her room was compared to yours. You felt like it was a safe haven. You took a seat at her computer desk and began to explain the entire situation from the top to bottom. “So yeah that’s the entire story.” “Honey from what you’re telling me sounds like you’re in love with Niki.” Ning Ning said while smiling. “I’m confused Ning. Like I don’t even know how to act around him anymore. I’ve blocked out my feelings for Niki for so long, and now I don’t know how to even tell him that.”
Ning Ning continued to comfort you as you talked. “You should start by really asking yourself. Are you happy with Heesung? Do you really love him?” What kind of question was that? You loved Heesung. He would never do anything to hurt you. “I gotta go Ning. I’ll catch you later on.” “You’ll figure this out y/n. If there’s one thing I know is that you will know what to do in the end.” You smiled and hugged Ning Ning as you walked out the door. For the rest of the day you thought back on your conversation with Ning Ning earlier. You tried everything to come up with a solution to handle your problem, but nothing worked or made sense. Your thoughts were interrupted by knocks at your door. Not sure who it could be and why, you slowly made your way to the door to unlock it.
“Hi y/n…”
To your surprise it was the one person you were hoping it wouldn’t be. “Niki. What are you doing here?” You could tell from his face something was wrong. “I need to talk you. Can I come in?” You nodded letting him in as you had a feeling of how this conversation was about to go. You closed the door offering him a seat on your bed as mentally prepared yourself for what was about to come.
Niki sat in silence as well as yourself. You could tell he was nervous to say anything as he began fidgeting his fingers. “Y/n I-…” “Niki… kiss me.” You were both taken aback by what you just said. “Did you mean that y/n…?” You covered your face to hide the red that flushed over your checks. “Im sorry Niki I didn’t mean t-.” Before you could finish your sentence, Niki pulled you in softly kissing your lips. As much as your mind told you to pull away, your heart was saying to make this moment last as you lost all strength to his warm soft lips. As he began to pull away, you pulled him closer kissing him slowly climbing on top of him as he wrapped his arms around you. You couldn’t stop yourself as this was all you had thought about since the other night. You wanted this moment to last forever as you continued to kiss him.
“What the hell!?” You both looked up to see Heesung in shocked as to what he just saw. Your heart stopped as you tried to find the words to explain what you had just done but before you could say anything Heesung walked away causing you to chase after him as Niki laid in shock. “Heesung wait! Wait please! It’s not what you think.” You could see the hurt in his face as you continued to try and get him to hear you out. “Please let me explain Heesung.” “What is there to explain? Tell me y/n. Please explain how I just saw you kissing Niki so that it can make sense.” You tried to find the words to explain your actions, but you knew there was no explaining your way out of this. You felt the tears falling down your face as Heesung walked past you and into the elevator. You were met by Niki standing in your doorway as you walked back with tears falling from your face. “Y/n I-.” “Niki I need you to go.” You said walking past Niki into the room. “Y/n what we just did… I-…” “Niki I really don’t wanna talk right now. Please just go. Leave me alone.”
“What we just did… that meant something. You can’t tell me it didn’t.” “Go away please!” You cried out as you covered your face to hide your tears. You heard your door close as Niki walked out. You planted your face into your pillow, hoping it would stop the the tears flowing down your face, but nothing worked. You couldn’t stop your mind from racing with what had just occurred. You felt terrible for what you had just done, but you couldn’t blame anyone but yourself.
The following days afterwards, were a lot more gray than usual. You sat in your room, shutting yourself off from your friends and even missing class. You didn’t bother to check your phone, being you didn’t wanna talk to anyone. You had lost motivation to do anything that would make you happy. Hell even smiling seemed impossible in this moment as all you thought about was making the biggest mistake you could’ve ever made. You missed Heesung, and you missed Niki. All you could think about was fixing your error, but you knew that the damage you caused Heesung was irreparable at this point. You felt like nothing would ever be okay for you ever again as you laid in silence in your room.
You were drawn back to reality as you heard knocks on your door. You ran as fast as you could to open the door hoping it would be the one person you had wanted to see so badly. “Baby I-. Oh…” You opened the door expecting it to be Heesung waiting on the other end with open arms, but instead it was Karina. “Come here honey. I know you need one more than ever right now.” Karina said as she held her arms out. You hugged her tightly as you cried. After letting her in you made your way back to your bed as she followed behind you. “So you made your decision I see.” Karina said while sitting beside you on the bed. You nodded your head in agreement to what she had said, but you knew that it didn’t make you happy to admit. “I’m the worse person ever… I kissed Niki and lost both my boyfriend and best friend in the same moment…” “Honey you’re not the worse. Don’t even talk like that.” Karina said trying to console you. “Have you seen Niki?” “He’s honestly in worse shape than you. He looks like he’s drained of all of his energy. He’s only been around Sunoo but even then he only comes to class and afterwards he just disappears.”
“Yo y/n. Knock knock.” “Speaking of which. Hey Sunoo.” Karina said while shooting Sunoo a look of disgust. “I’m here for y/n.” Sunoo walked over to you giving you a hug. “Thanks Sunoo. So… how is he?” “Honestly… he’s a wreck. He’s been blaming himself for whatever went down between you two. He looks exhausted.” Hearing that made you feel bad. You couldn’t point fingers at anyone but yourself. “You two need to talk to one another. I hate to see you two like this.” Sunoo said before walking out the door. You nodded before telling him bye. “I honestly don’t know what to do.” You threw yourself back on the pillow before letting out a long sigh. You knew the longer you ignored the situation it would never be fixed. You wanted to make everything right but you didn’t have an answer for how to. “Whatever you decide, you’ll know in your heart it’s what you wanted. You’ll have your answer eventually.” Karina gave you one last hug before walking out the door. “Oh and by the way. Don’t make me have to come back over here. I expect to see you bright and early tomorrow. Lunch and then dinner afterwards. Got it.” “You got it.” You said before smiling.

It Was Meant To Be

The following day was pretty normal. You felt a bit better than the last few days. Your friends made sure to check in on you through out the day. You got through your classes thinking less about the situation as you went on through the day. You knew you would eventually have to deal with it, but you wanted to enjoy the relief that you were feeling even if it was just for today. After lunch you and your friends talked for a bit before leaving for the rest of the day. You spent your day mainly walking campus and listening to music occasionally. You walked until you came to a stop, taking a seat on a bench in the courtyard area of school. You sat with your music playing in your ears while gazing out at the few people you saw walking by.
“Hi y/n.”
You didn’t notice that Heesung had taken a seat next to you until you looked in his direction causing your heart to stop for a minute. “Heesung I-… hi.” For a few minutes the two of you sat in silence. You couldn’t find the words to explain your actions from the other night. You could tell he was hurting while also trying to gather the words to say something to you. “You have every right to not ever want to speak to me again.” You said breaking the ice. “I’m not upset. True enough I’m hurt but I’m not upset at you. Truth is… I kind of had a feeling for a while that eventually it would happen.” Hearing that made you cry. You tried to wipe your tears to where he wouldn’t see you crying but before you could he pulled you in giving you the most comforting hug. “I’m sorry.” “It’s okay y/n.” Heesung continued to comfort you until you stopped crying.
“I love you y/n. I always will. No one will ever replace the love you gave me. You’ve given me the best moments in life I could ever ask for. I’m thankful for everything. I will always be apart of your life. Always.” You smiled as Heesung wiped the tears from your face. “I’ll never forget you Heesung. I love you.” You gave one final big hug before he got up to walk off. You knew the pain he was feeling still lingered. “You should tell him. Tell him the truth y/n. There’s nothing holding you back.” You watched as Heesung walked off. It was a bittersweet moment, that you had honestly wish didn’t happen but you knew that you would be okay and so would he.
You made your way back to your room reflecting on all that had happened today. A part of you felt happy while the other part of you felt empty. You kept thinking back to what Heesung said earlier. You knew what you had to do, but didn’t have a clue as to how to do it. You were interrupted by your phone ringing. You didn’t recognize the number but answered it anyway.
“Hello?” “Hi y/n!” You recognized that it was Ning Ning. “Ning Ning? Did you get a new phone?” “Sorry. I would’ve used mines but it’s dead. Had to borrow a friend’s. But anyways. I need you to do me a favor.” “Okay?” You said sounding a bit confused. “7:00 p.m. Meet us a-.” The phone started to break up as you tried to make out what Ning Ning was saying. “You want me to what?” “Meet up at the courtyard fountain tonight at 7.” “What for?”
“You’ll see.” “Okay I’ll see you there.” You ended the call completely confused as to why or what was so important about later tonight, but you thought less and less about it as you scrolled through your phone.
Night fall had approached as you made your way to the courtyard. As you walked you wondered what could your friends have a planned at such an odd hour on a school night. “You could’ve at least gotten dressed y/n.” You turned to see Karina and Winter walking up towards you. “Well no one told me to get dressed. Besides this is comfortable for me.” As you pointed to your long sleeve and jeans. “Come on.” Winter said while giggling. The three of you made your way to the courtyard fountain. Before you got any closer Karina and Winter threw their hands over your eyes acting as a blindfold. “Karina? Winter? What are you doing?” “Just keep walking.” Winter said as she grabbed your hand. “No seriously what the hell? You said feeling more nervous than comfortable. The three of you came to a stop. You could hear the water flowing from the fountain meaning you were pretty close. “Okay keep your eyes closed, and hold your hands out.” Karina said as she and Winter moved their hands from over your eyes. “Okay.” You said while still trying to figure out what was going on. Suddenly you felt your hands being grabbed. Whoever it was the feeling was warm. It made you feel comfortable enough to smile. “Hello stranger. Not sure what my friends are doing but don’t be surprised if I jerk away.” You said while keeping your eyes closed.
“I won’t let that happen.”
You immediately opened your eyes as you recognized Niki’s voice. You hugged him as a flood of emotions came over the both of you. You had missed his touch and you could tell that he missed yours as well. “Niki I-…” “I love you y/n. It’s been you since the beginning. I been in love with you since we were kids. I hate that I wasn’t able to tell you in the beginning but I was afraid because I thought you would never see as more than your friend. Even to this day my feelings for you haven’t changed one bit. I know I’m not Heesung. I’m not perfect by any means, but all asking for is a chance.” You were over come with tears of happiness as Niki confessed his feelings for you. You were so confused in the beginning being that you had Heesung, but you knew the answer all along. It was Niki you were in love with. Even through all the uncertainty and confusion you put yourself through you knew it was Niki. Wasting no more time you wrapped your arms around Niki pulling him in kissing him.
“You don’t have to be anyone but you. I love you Niki.” The two of you embraced one another as you kissed each other again. Your friends watched from the sides happily as they saw the two of you finally together. You had never been happier. You knew this was where you wanted to be. You no longer felt the pain you felt from days earlier. You knew that this moment was yours. You two were meant for one another and you would never let go of one another. You were meant to be.

19:54 PM (279).
lee heeseung x reader , angst , implied exes , no dialogue sorry i just wanted to write smth , reader and heeseung are aged up
you're walking in a crowded mall, shopping for a wedding dress and then you're looking at all these people with their significant others. linked arms and all.
and then you see him. unprompted, and it's a surprise to you. you haven't seen heeseung in years; the only times being in photos and videos sent by your best friend to keep you updated.
but he's not alone. he's laughing, smiling, twirling a girl around as they check out a line of dresses together.
you don't approach him.
he looks happy and you didn't want to ruin to be the kind to walk up to him and ask him how are things, and say, "oh my god, it's been a long time, hasn't it?" and then have him bring up the fact that you guys used to date in front of his current girlfriend. god knows that's what used to happen with you with your current boyfriend and you knew how much that sucked ass to you. you can imagine how that would feel like for her.
and you didn't want to do something like that.
you were his past and despite this, you truly were glad to be here to witness the happiest and best version of himself with his present girl, and perhaps, his future wife too.
so you smile to yourself and turn to where you were originally headed, missing the way he glances at you as you merge into one with the crowd. almost like letting you go for the second time around.
and heeseung doesn't say anything. he doesn't chase after you. instead, he turns to the girl before him and tells her she looks beautiful.

the beginning
Tumblr media
warning: none
word count: 0.77k
You pushed Heeseung against a wall, a hand tightly gripping his shirt. Your faces were centimeters away, eyes scurrying from his eyes downwards to his lips and back up. There was a nervous tension around you, your grip getting unsure, your glance moving around. You felt him staring at you, faces inching closer, his hair tickling your forehead. Your lips were almost touching - almost. The distance was so small, but something stopped you from overcoming it, nerves taking over. You froze in your spot, unable to do anything except staring at him, his eyes resting on your face, waiting. It felt like hours, in reality it had been a couple seconds, until he turned his head, moving away from you, allowing you to take a deep breath.
"Cut!"
The voice sounded through the room. You turned away from Heeseung, moving towards the grand couch and the people sitting on it, taking place on the ground before them.
"I thought this was supposed to be a romantic comedy?", Taehyun asked. "It really didn't look like it. What is it with you, are your teachers so incompetent or can't you act?" His eyes rested on you, an eyebrow raised skeptically, lips pressed together in a straight line.
You shifted on your pillow, trying to avoid the stares of the people around you. Especially the angry glare of Heeseung right next to you.
"They have just started their classes, barely finished their basic courses.", Sunoo tried to intervene, throwing a small smile into your direction. It didn't help you ease your nerves, however, it made you feel worse. You knew you had just started your acting classes, but did you really need to be constantly reminded of it?
"I don't care. We need this show to be a success, and I need everyone to make sure it does." You could feel everyones look on you, making you shrink even more. There was no doubt what he actually meant: you needed to make sure this would be a success. You were the problem.
"Shooting starts soon, and next time I'll come over I want to see progress."
"How about we try improvising for now? That way we can see where we need to improve." Sunghoons suggestion caused a couple nods from the group, but no one looked really convinced.
"Okay.", he sighed. "Your characters have not seen each other for a long time. I need to feel the love and nostalgia you two are feeling - try to convey it with your body language, okay? Let's start."
Heeseung and you stood up again, avoiding each others look while getting into position. You took another deep breath, trying to focus on the task, when Sunghoon gave you the signal to start.
Within seconds you pushed him against the wall again, finding yourself in the same position as before, faces close together. But before you could press your lips on his, he grabbed your shoulders and turned you two around. Now you were pressed against the wall, brows furrowed in confusion. This was not supposed to happen. With a firm grip you turned him around again, your eyes trying to communicate with him - to no avail, because a second later he tried to turn you around once again.
"Just stay still.", you hissed, eyes closing in annoyance. Instead of an answer Heeseung let out a huff, his stare on your face not faltering until your back hit the wall.
"What is your problem? I told you to stay still!" Your voice grew louder, but you didn't care. How were you supposed to act if he was constantly manipulating you? Did he not see how important this was for you? Or did he simply not care. Probably the latter with the way he was just staring at you, not saying a word. Before you could open your mouth you were distracted by Soobin, who let out a deep sigh before standing up.
"This doesn't work. You two need to learn how to get along. You need to spend time together. You will live in this house, and you will do your best. How about... ten days, and then we'll come again. And we want to see progress."
You froze. Ten days with Heeseung, with no chance of escaping?
Speaking of the devil, he was suddenly coming closer towards you, causing you to take a step backwards.
"Can you finally let go of me?" Your head whipped towards him and your hand that still had a tight grip on his shirt.
"They didn't say cut yet."
"They said stop."
"They said stop and not cut."

*ੈ✩ — 𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐀 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐒! (TEASER) | LEE HEESEUNG
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
୨୧ pairing — secgen!lee heeseung x journalist!fem!reader
synopsis: decelis high's academic weapon, future valedictorian, model un prodigy especially in the crisis council, and top-notch secretary-general of the mun club, lee heeseung has it all. from earning constant "best delegate-s" left and right, no one dared to go against his stances in any debate. until a student like you transfers into decelis high. as a soon graduating senior, you were a newbie to press. but with your endless love for writing, you'd managed to steal the hearts of your peers. it was your first mun, and you didn't expect much. but when heeseung finds out about an article you've wrote about his arrogant performance in a recent committee session, he is set to strike you down.
୨୧ genre — high school au, secgen!heeseung x press delegate!reader, academic rivals to lovers, dumbasses in denial, rivals in public but lovers in secret
୨୧ warnings — a lot of model un terms, cursing, hurt no comfort, heeseung makes fun of the reader a LOT, reader is feisty and could care less but she lowkey has parental issues, featuring all the other enhypen members, huh yunjin, and jang wonyoung
୨୧ word count — tbd
୨୧ release date — tba
୨୧ author's note — my baby! i love muns and as a press girlie myself, i had to make an mun-themed fic for my boy. mind you that i don't really understand the ACTUAL muns (unsc, who, etc.) cause i highkey don't want to get involved i just like writing!! this teaser is kind of short and sweet cause i know that the actual fic will be LONGER! so excited for you guys to read my works and what my imagination has to offer!!!!!!! enjoy this lil teaser. press 4 fanfic writers arise!
Tumblr media
𝐋𝐄𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐆 had it all.
the walls of his room were littered with delegate lanyards from conferences across the globe, "best delegate" certificates framed all over his house (and a couple crumpled up inside his desk to fit the space), and a collection of trophies that stood in every nook and cranny.
no one at decelis high dared to go against him. whenever it was, whether it was moderated caucus or unmoderated, he'd always have his country or character's placard raised high, ready to speak, or leading whatever bloc was being formed.
it was no doubt that no one has ever beat him. it was no doubt that he was decelis high's mun club's secretary-general. and those who chose to go against him either get crushed in fear or knew when to step back.
even with his "best delegate" status, he wouldn't have gone far without his best mates, park jongseong, sim jaeyun, and park sunghoon.
park jongseong or jay, most known for his cold stares in the debate room, ready to make a delegate tremble, would always chair crisis. he was decelis high's deputy secretary-general alongside heeseung. and although being heeseung's best mate, he never favored him when it came to awarding. it's just that he was naturally talented.
sim jaeyun, known for his popular slogan around the school; "jake it till you make it!", was the strongest when it came to knowing what a country or character believed in. his research skills were like a pirate on the hunt for lost treasure, he had all the facts, the data, and the proof to back up any stance. whatever heeseung needed to know, jake already had his back.
and park sunghoon. even though he was the quiet one of the bunch, his position papers never ceased to appeal any chair. even if he wasn't as strong in speaking out during committee sessions, his fingers were his weapon. the guys would always ask him why'd he chair press and not join in the heat with them, he'd always answer with a simple, "my words are stronger than my actions." where jay would always respond with "isn't that the other way around bud?"
the four were unstoppable when it came to model un. lee heeseung was unstoppable. he was. until you came along.

⋆。˚ ep 2. - pink umbrella ˚。⋆。 (semi-written !)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"this please." you said as you handed the two tubs of ice cream to the cashier. she looked at you in slight shock as she scanned your items.
you sighed in embarrassment. you payed and went to sit down on the tables set up next to the windows. you shiver, looking at the heavy, cold rain.
heeseung walked in calmly, closing his umbrella. whilst paying for his stuff, your trembling figure caught his eye.
he assumed you were a normal person who suffered from the heavy rain. he thought for a moment.
"hey, can you give this to the girl over there. it looks like she needs it.." he said as he handed his umbrella to the cashier.
she nodded. after a moment, you felt a hand lightly tap your shoulder.
"hey uh, someone wanted to give this to you. you might need it." you looked up in shock as you took the umbrella in your hand.
"oh, im sorry but who is this from?" you asked shyly. your eyes darted at the tall guy running in the rain. you look back at the cashier and smiled.
you opened the light pink umbrella, about to leave. you chuckled as you walk back to your dorm.

OR. he is used to you chasing after him . . . so what happens when the tables are turned ? && crush!en- x f!reader % hc format ( jealousy, pet names, mention of food, kissing )
Tumblr media
𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐆 doesn't think twice when he sees you on the bleachers at his basketball game, because he's gotten so used to seeing you there, cheering him on whenever he scores and waving enthusiastically when he looks your way... only to find himself doing a double take when he notices you talking to the members of the opposition's team. stands there for a while with a tilted head as he wonders why it is you're giggling and twirling your hair, batting your eyelashes at whatever it was the guy was saying. and he really shouldn't have been so annoyed, seeing as you're free to talk to whoever you like... but for some reason, he finds himself purposely missing a shot and causing the ball to roll over to where you and your friends are sitting, just so he has an excuse to walk over there after your pick up the ball, before kissing you on the cheek as he takes ball back. "thanks, baby," he says, before walking away again.... but of course, not without one last cocky smirk to the other guy when he sees your flustered expression, and a promise to ask you out properly after he wins this game.
more under the cut !
𝐉𝐀𝐘, who has gotten used to seeing snacks on his desk along with little notes whenever he wakes up from his nap, feels like he's been thrown into an alternate universe when he looks up one day to find that his desk his completely empty. looks around, and asks his deskmate if you came by today, only for them to shake their head and say that they haven't seen you all day. doesn't think too much about it at first, thinking that you may be busy... only to notice that it continues a few days straight. decides to walk to your class one day, completely forgoing his usual nap, just to see if you're okay, because as much as he wouldn't admit it, anyone could tell he was worried about you. so imagine his surprise when he walks up behind you while you're talking to your friends, just to learn you've been doing it on purpose to make him miss you. crosses his arms and leans down to your ear with a smirk, causing your heart to fly out of your chest when you realise he was there all along. "okay, you win." because he really did miss you... maybe even more than you had planned.
𝐉𝐀𝐊𝐄 probably takes a while to figure out that you're avoiding him, but only because he genuinely believes you when you say you're busy when he asks why you can't make it to his soccer game. he knows that you have a life outside of school, so he can't feel upset... but everyone (his teammates, his friends, his coach, his neighbour, his dog...) notices that he is walking around the field like a depressed puppy whose owner doesn't want to play with him, and it's all because you're not in your usual seat, cheering him on while wearing his number like you usually do. and it makes him realise just how much you were becoming his lucky charm, just as you had boldly proclaimed you would be. and so that's how he finds himself waiting for you after you're finished your classes for the day, before wrapping his arms around you in a hug, not caring about the wolf whistles and the cheers coming from all the students and teachers who stood watching around you, or the way you stuttered his name in protest because of how he was acting in public... all he could think about was how he was a fool for not making you his to begin with.
𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐍 can't remember when you haven't been next to him. from the first day of school, you were the one beside him, helping him in class whenever he had to catch up on work that he missed because of his figure skating career, saving him a seat on the bus because you knew he would always end up being five minutes late out of class. so when he comes back from a week off from school, he is visibly taken aback when you walk in and take a seat at the front of the classroom, next to some other guy who he didn't even know existed until now. doesn't buy it for a second when his new seatmate explains that you had to switch because you had trouble seeing, and burns holes into the back of your head for the entire lesson, intensifying his glare when you and your new seatmate are a tad too close for comfort, heads bumping against each other as you whisper about the answers to the questions, like you used to do with sunghoon. can't seem to catch you alone for the rest of the day, so he waits for the end of the day, when you guys catch the bus together, and makes sure that he gets there before you do... so that when you try and sit next to someone else, he pulls you down in the seat he saved next to him, before leaning his head on your shoulder, his hand wrapped around your smaller one. "stay here, please..." because you’re the only one he wants beside him, and he wants to be the only one next to you.
𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐎𝐎 knows immediately that something isn't right when you don't ask for his help with your club projects. being in the photography club, you love to remind him how he is your favourite model, and you make it painfully obvious whenever you beg him to let you take his pictures. imagine his surprise and offense when you no longer seek him out first, but some other guy in a different class, who you keep positing pictures of on the school newsletter, where you used to post his pictures instead. he instantly makes a plan to win you back and become your favourite once again, even going as far as to rock up to school the next day with blonde hair that makes everyone stop and stare... except you, the person who is usually the first to jump on the train of people to praise him. he realises at that moment that this goes beyond just his pride; he genuinely just wants to be able to make you smile like before. so imagine your surprise when you open the newsletter for the next week, to find a candid photo of you looking at your camera, hair blowing in the wind and a smile on your face, with the caption "prettiest girl in our grade" followed by, "taken by kim sunoo".
𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐖𝐎𝐍 does not beat around the bush. so the first time you walk by him in the hallway without so much as uttering a "hi," he immediately knows he needs to confront you about it, because not a single day has passed in the time that you've known each other where you haven't jumped on him (figuratively, of course) whenever the chance arises so you can chat his ear off about something or other. and he doesn't like the feeling he gets seeing you give him the cold shoulder for reasons he has no idea about. so the next time you pass him by without saying anything, he's grabbing your wrist and tugging you down the hallway, ignoring the squeals from your friends as he pulls you into the janitor's closet. "why are you avoiding me?" he demands, frowning. but then the two of you are rendered blushing incoherent messes when you try to escape the room... only to trip on your own two feet and fall into his arms, your lips bumping against each other in the process. (but even though it's an accident, jungwon thinks that he really likes this feeling alot.)
𝐍𝐈-𝐊𝐈 is an absolute menace, and you are probably one of the only people in the world other than his mother that can put up with him. it really surprises people to see you follow him around, cooking him bentos and fixing his tie for him because he always fails at doing it himself, only to find out that you're not his girlfriend. ni-ki himself probably doesn't even realise how much you've been taking care of him until you stop showing your face around his classroom at lunch, and no longer nag him about his uniform or his hair being messy. instead, he's left to watch as you turn around whenever you see him, purposely changing paths so you don't bump into each other. no one is surprised when he jumps over a fence just so he can catch up to you after you try to run away after making eye contact with him for the hundredth time. you end up blurting your feelings for him before he can ask, and while you brace yourself for rejection, he's already kissing you like he hasn't seen you for months... and wondering why he never did it sooner.
