Wrapped In Light, Before The Scar... And When Scarred

Well here it is, the thing that I've been wanting to come back to for an awful long while. To Look Upon The Future finally has some cover art and I draw again! I've been meaning to get back into drawing for a while so I'm glad to finally get this out into the world. Whilst it's definitely not the most exciting art or anything like that and due to my inexperience in digital art still (I hate using a mouse to draw DX), at least I've managed to ensure I met this in time for PSMD's 8th anniversary here in Europe. On this day (the 19th or the 20th), it released in PAL regions and slowly became one of - and still is - my favourite Mystery Dungeon title of all time. Slowly but surely I'll start making my way back to my fanfiction that I've got for this series, which you can find here and two other one-shots I've written in the past:

Oops, I think my accidental art spam of reblogging other people’s PSMD artworks has got me on the agenda to try out drawing my own main team digitally for the first time (minus Cormac last month as I’ve already drawn him). Man, I reaaaaaallly wanna draw all four of my sillies, but hey, if you’re curious, here’s the main four I wanna draw together (if I can);

Cormac - PSMD Hero and my take on the protagonist (he’s a bean who can get edgy); you can tell he’s a Mudkip

Sprout - PSMD partner and hopefully I can draw him as a floofball. Loves Cormac with all of his heart, up until when he disappeared (ahhhh uni why do you gotta be in the way, I wanna draw partner dynamic 😭😭); he’s a Bulbasaur

Harmony - PMD Explorers protagonist and feels hurt in the presence of Cormac. These two have beef (I won’t elaborate why though 😏). Has heterochromia which means he has two different eye colours - in my headcanon, he witnesses his Dimensional Screams through one of his eyes and sometimes makes him feel split between the real world and his illusory mind. Angsty bean… must DRAW!!! He’s a Riolu.

Flurr - PMD Explorers partner and Harmony’s love interest. An Eevee who acts as an extrovert after having saved the world and attaches to Harmony like super glue stuck on a canvas. She’s never not seen without Harmony, unless you bring ‘em to the Kecleon shopping mall and then all hell breaks loose… many, many Swifts later… and yes, she also be floofy.

Hopefully I can draw the four of them at some point, but ahhhh drawing with mouse is scuffed for me so not sure how long it’ll take, ahhhhhh

Welp, I may or may not be getting back into art again whilst also doing uni work on the side haha xP But for real, I've been wanting to get back into the swing of making artwork I enjoy, finding stuff I enjoy doing and being my own person in just having fun in making games on my uni course, to just doing PMD art in general as it's something I enjoy doing and helps to stimulate my brain into an atmosphere I can let loose in without much thought. Most of this stuff is me just projecting stuff out into the world in the hopes that somehow some people like the crazy stuff I do, but all in all getting back into the habit of just doing the things I love is the thing that matters to me the most above anything else.

So for that reason, I'm setting myself a challenge of doing art at least once every month, starting from this week. Do I have any particular themes in mind? Not really. I just want to do whatever I fancy, with any characters I like and thinking of anything from human designs (for once XD) to the one I'm currently working on now: a PSMD drawing. For once, a game I've been meaning to draw for ages and it's based on the Mudkip you see in my profile picture (credit to s0upjuice for the amazing art :) ) and his partner Bulbasaur, which I aim to give some unique flavour to when I draw it. What will it be? You'll find out. ;)

Probably late for this, but happy Pokémon Day folks! Major copium for us PMD fans that we do get a game this year as the next Legends game is next year but I guess a guy can dream 😅
