Hey, I was just reading one of your FICS and suddenly I started to wonder about Zoro — or most strawhat — just jumping into the water whenever a devil fruit user falls into the sea, like because of Luffy the moment they hear the sound, their bodies just go into auto pilot.

Did Luffy — Robin, and Chopper— Pavlov them?

There's actually a scene in Zou where they're climbing up the elephant on the poorly drawn Ryunosuke; which of course means holding on tight since it's a poorly drawn dragon scaling a straight cliffside. But the second Luffy appears to fall off you see just how pissy Zoro gets, because Zoro knows, if he hears a splash he is going in that water. It doesn't matter how turbulent it is, how far the drop, how much an elephant might have just shit in it, he isn't even holding onto the dragon - his arms are folded over his chest this whole time - but you know the SECOND he hears that splash he's relaxing his thighs and taking a straight up dunk into that water.

I mean, just look at Zoro, Killer, Bepo, Rayleigh, Beckman. What do they all have in common? They have arms as thick as my thighs because these boys are use to dragging their captains up from the deepest depths (note: Rogers and Shanks might not have devil's fruits but that doesn't make them not fucking idiots. "There's a GODDAMN WHIRLPOOL and - you know what? I'll just drag his ass back to the shore myself, you guys just try and keep from dying while I'm gone.")

I believe that on your First Mate resume, one of the questions has to be, "how fast do you jump into the water after hearing a splash?" and if the answer isn't IMMEDIATELY you are OUT.

Can you imagine how fast I the water Heart! Zoro is. Don't worry, I did it for you. Instantaneous. Some part of first mates is just written differently in their DNA. It commands they save their captains from the sea.

Thoughts: Law being attached

Ft: law -no warnings- -fluff-

It's definitely something new.

I mean though he would do it in the most subtle ways, trying not to lose it over actually feeling this needy feeling from you. Sure the two of you are together but opening up to affection that soon? No way near death law is admitting that.

It started when the first time the two of you had decided to sleep next to each other, just for your lover's company and it was your fault for not entirely telling him you shift around in your sleep, holding something tight against you usually.

That happened to be him. When the sun raised, he was met with your face closely tucked in his skin, warm skin of arms wrapping around his chest, snuggling deeper with each movement law made.

his face had flushed, cursing under his breath while holding his features to cool them down. Didn't work. Your form only pushes him to feel more of you.

At that moment, he didn't felt empty, instead, his heart was rather thumping loudly against his ribcage, blood rushing to him. But when you did got up to wash yourself, ignoring what you are doing to him casually, law had felt empty then but the feeling was radiating from his hands, realizing he rather much likes when you cling up to him, touching him with trust and laying comfortably by his side.

After that? Oh boy. Law was a complete mess. i mean how much hints does a guy have to give before you finally give him a tight hug.

That was embarrassing to admit. Emo

outside, it's just a few glances towards you, an arm going around your waist when someone he doesn't approve of approaches or when the straw hat captain gets a little too close, hugging you and giving you million smiles. Which you return.

If it's on his submarine, then he is fine to lightly join in your conversation, brushing your hair back, few touches behind your back or when he makes a excuse that your hand is cold but clearly he just wants to hold it.

At night, it's most likely his favorite preferred time to feel your presence close to him. He can be a tad more vocal too, telling you to join him in his bed, rolling his eyes to ignore his racing heart when you stutter and flusteratingly letting out a okay, timidly crawling beside him.

to be real here, he had assumed that your clinging problem would annoy him, not used to such close touching affection but later on, your touch was basically heaven. It calmed him, swaying away his disturbing or pressured thoughts whenever you would impulsively pull him close.

As days went own, you would also find his muscles wrapped around your form, breathing even and chest rising along. Your face burns, seeing him touch you causally as if it’s second nature.

Later on, it probably is.

Zoro always honoring Luffy, but falling in love with Law. Law will sometimes get jealous of the relationship Luffy and Zoro have. Though he comes to realize that Luffy only has Zoro's loyalty, while he has Zoro's heart. He's content knowing Luffy has won the battle, but he won the war.

Then for just a dash of angst, Luffy realizing the love he has for Zoro is different than the love he has for the rest of the crew too late. Experiencing jealousy for the first time over Law's and Zoro's relationship.
