FIRST SK8 REQUEST?!? Thank you for your ask!!

LANGA knew that adam was intimidating, but he had faith that you could handle yourself against him. his reservations outweighed his want to support you, and so he tucked them away and opted for cheering you on and supporting you throughout the race. he was just the same as you, eager to get out there and skate against someone so skilled. everything would work out.

the race was going smoothly until half way through the track, it appeared that adam was getting ready to make some sort of move that you were unaware of. it came quick, adam turning around and running full speed using his board as a club to attack you with. langa could only stare and exclaim in fear as he watched you get hit with all the strength adam could muster on the giant tvs. he immediately went after you, pushing past the crowds of people to retrieve your unconscious figure from the track. joe followed and insisted on driving you to the hospital, langa not even bothering trying to convince him to tag along, but simply stating that he’d accompany you. he sat nervously in the hospital for a long while until he was forced to head home, but even a conversation with joe reassuring him that you’d be alright couldn’t calm his nerves.

he felt guilty that he didn’t voice more of his anxious feelings toward the race. maybe if he did, it would’ve prompted you to be more attentive to any dangerous tricks. the rest of his evening was spent getting lost in his guilty consciousness, and he was quieter and slower until your full recovery. even when you were discharged and feeling better than ever did langa feel horrible for not saying anything at all. you managed to snap him out of his all-consuming self loathing however, repeating firmly that he wasn’t responsible for your injury. a small kiss on his cheek solidified that. langa makes a note from the experience to work on communicating his feelings a little bit better with you.

CHERRY knew firsthand what adam was capable of. he was all too familiar with his style of skating (if you could even call it that). so admittedly he was nervous when you told him you’d be skating against the maniac. he was slightly surprised and was vocal in his concerns, reminding you of his wicked tricks and the danger of going up against him. you were insistent however, wanting to take the chance to beat him, if not that then improve in skill. cherry wasn’t going to force you out of the race, so he very reluctantly accepted it.

his eyes never left the screens displaying the race, constantly analyzing your move. even when he saw you doing well, his worry didn’t falter. his breath hitched as he watched adam prepare an all too familiar attack against you, his fears becoming reality right before his eyes. he wasted no time locating you and using carla to examine your condition after you collapsed. cherry comes off cool and collected when informing the others about your state, simply stating the known facts, but everyone could tell that he was tense with the deep frown etched in his face and the slight gruffness in his voice.

he sat by your bed and watched as you rested, planning a “i told you so" lecture for when you were feeling better. cherry mostly felt awful for not interfering more with your decision, however. he knew that adam was dangerous and was almost sure to pull some sort of stunt that would end up hurting you, but he still let you go out on the track. he used carla to monitor your recovery and took it upon himself to take care of you even when you got discharged from the hospital. he was scared for you, and it came out in the form of anger. you apologized for letting yourself be so careless, and cherry couldn’t help but deflate at the genuine guilt in your voice. he flicked you over the head with his fan and assured you that the sole person responsible was adam. cherry paid for all the food you wanted at kojiro's restaurant (and made him treat you occasionally as well) to make up for the guilt he felt.

Sk8 the Infinity Headcanons

No one’s name in Miya’s phone is their actual name: Reki is Dollar Store Ariel, Langa is Elsa’s Lost Snowman, Shadow is Mister Lonely, and of course Cherry and Joe are Mommy and Daddy

The kids get discounts at Joe’s restaurant since they’re there so much

Cherry helps Langa with his Japanese from time to time (Langa’s teachers have been noticing more and more improvement)

Cherry can’t figure out why everyone keeps calling him Pinkie Pie, if anything his hair is more reminiscent of Fluttershy’s

After finding out Joe studied in Italy, Reki began to ask him about it (How different is the time zone? Was anyone with you or did you travel alone? Are the cafés as good as they look online? Was there a bad language barrier? Did you go to an opera? Etc.) Joe plans to surprise Reki with a trip to Italy when he graduates.

It took Langa a month to remember everyone’s names. Reki was ‘the energetic one’, Shadow was ‘flower clown’, Miya was ‘Meowth from Pokémon’, Joe was ‘the guy who always forgets his shirt’, and Cherry was ‘the one with pink hair who keeps ditching his glasses’.

They’re often mistaken as a family whenever they hang out, mainly because the kids are often referred to as “the kids” (and a few times “our kids” when they lost said kids in the shopping center).

Some people at S have begun to speculate if Joe and Cherry had adopted Reki, Langa, and Miya when the kids first got to S. They view Reki as taking after Joe the most and Miya as taking after Cherry the most. Langa is viewed as somewhere in-between but is leaning slightly more towards taking after Cherry. (Both Joe and Cherry are well aware of the rumors but have said nothing, Miya knows and plays into it, Reki and Langa have been too focused on skating and each other to notice)

Cherry

Uncomfortable with it. At first

Since he’s always had a ‘feminine’ look to him, he’s never been into really cute things; like nicknames.

He only uses the nickname ‘Cherry’ to keep his professional and SK8 lives separate.

Does get use to it, over time, however. And does end up liking it.

Preferred nickname is ‘sweetheart’.

Joe

Loves it.

Kojiro has always been into dumb, cute stuff like that. With anyone he’s dated.

He’s one of those people who rarely uses his s/o’s name at all once they’re together. Changing the nickname up until he finds the perfect one.

He calls them ‘babe’ or ‘beautiful’ a lot.

Preferred nickname is ‘honey’. (yes it is influenced by cooking)

Adam

Also someone who likes it.

Ainosuke thrives on attention and adoration. Nicknames of endearment are just another way he can feel that rush.

Plus, he’s a very passionate man. And having ‘secret’ names for one another adds just another layer to their intimacy.

He loves to whisper their special name in their ear when they are at public events or parties.

Preferred nickname is ‘dearest’.

Langa

Embarrassed.

He is still pretty young. So this would probably be his first s/o, and time being called these names.

He’d try a few out himself. Ones he’d picked up from teen dramas in the states or Japan, but gets nervous or easily flustered trying to call them that.

Langa would rather just be called by his name, and vice-versa.

Preferred nickname would be ‘babe’. Most embarrassing nickname is ‘snow bunny’.

My cats been missing for three days, I've had her since I was 11 and she is REALLY important to me(shes also never been gone this long). We just got a ton of snow, im worried for her and I overheard my parents saying they think our neighbor did something to her. Fandom: Sk8 the Infinity

Characters: Reki Kyan, Langa Hasegawa, Miya Chinen, Kojiro Nanjo, Kaoru Sakurayahiki x gn! Reader

Reki is probably one of the best people to be around if you want your mind taken off the situation. He’s good at listening as well if you want to talk but his real talent lies in distracting you.

Having said that, he’s very adaptable so if you prefer being comforted in a different way, he can change his methods to suit you.

If you feel like talking or just need comfort, Reki gives fantastic hugs. He’ll sway gently side to side and rub your back or head.

If you want to go out and help look for your cat, he’ll tag along. That way he’s helping but is also with you for support.

Of course, he’d also take his skateboard out and skate around town looking for your missing fur friend on his own. But his first priority is making sure you’re okay.

Langa is the best listener out of everyone here. If you want to talk about what's happening or reminisce about good times with your furry friend, he's there to lend an ear.

Much like Reki, he's going to grab his skateboard and go around town trying to find any clues as to where your cat's gone.

He'll ask around at S as well. While Reki might have some reservations about going up to a random person at S and asking if they've seen a cat around, Langa does have the same qualms.

Langa's not the best with physical touch but if you want hugs or any other form of physical comfort, he'll do his best.

All in all, he'll be a more quiet supporter in this situation. He'll do what he can to help but he's a lot more subtle than some of the others.

Oh, Miya is finding your cat and discovering every detail of what happened. He’s starting a search on every social media platform he has and is ready to take it to the news if need be.

A missing cat is no joke to someone who's favourite animals are felines so Miya is right there with you in missing your furry friend.

He's probably very attached to your cat as well so he's going to do whatever he can to get it back. If that means he has to call in some favours thanks to his standing and fame, he'll do just that.

Miya's not great with words or physical affections but if that's what you want to help you deal with the situation, he'll do his best.

If he gets to choose how to comfort you, he's going to just be in your presence. He may not be great with words or physical comfort but he's got a reasonably soothing presence.

Joe is taking you back to the restaurant, making you your favourite dish, calling Cherry so he can give you company, and setting out to search for your cat.

He’d be there in person but doing nothing while someone he cares about is hurting is hard for him, especially if he knows there are things he can do to help.

Joe will also print out missing flyers and stick them up all over town, keeping a few at the restaurant. Every customer he servs, he’ll ask if they’ve seen your furry friend (if they can give him any information, he’s offering a free dessert).

If you do particularly want his company, Joe will stay with you and make calls to a bunch of his connections from S so they can start the search.

He’s good at comforting people, especially if they want someone to talk to, either about the situation or about something else entirely. He’s a good listener and will respond at the right moments with the right words.

Cherry is the perfect combination of Joe and Miya: he's going to be hands on with helping to find your cat but he's going online as well.

He's also got more resources than Miya so he'll be sending out drones as well to scout the city in search of your cat.

He's also going to call in help from Joe. He knows that, as many connections as he has, his old friend has a lot of different connections that may also be able to help.

Because he can search remotely, Cherry will be able to spend a lot more time with you than the others.

He's very adaptable in comforting you so whether you want physical comfort, kind words, a good listener, or just someone to be with, he's got it covered.

future renga headcanon because they occupy my brain approximately 97% of the time <3

after they finish high school, reki and langa know higher education isn’t really for them, but they go to community college to take some classes including a business course. they open a skate shop together (or take over DOPESKETCH) and live together in the apartment above/near it, adding a tiny park behind the building with a ramp and some rails.

on top of the usual gear and creating made-to-order custom boards made by reki, they also offer lessons out back. reki mainly teaches beginners and langa helps people with a bit more experience, but it’s not because reki isn’t good enough to teach the veterans — his passion for skating and how good he is with the younger people who’re starting out (thanks to his sisters) is incredible for motivating them, keeping them excited to learn, and encouraging them not to give up when they struggle to get the hang of something. langa has also become a lot more confident in the language all around, and finds it a little easier to talk with people through working with their clients together.

they’re still (and always will be) each others best friend, and they both still blush when their hands brush behind the counter like they did as teenagers. every day together feels like an adventure, even all these years later.

langa with a crush who hides her identity during competitions

pairing: langa hasegawa x fem!reader

summary: langa is unaware that the mysterious skater from S and the girl he likes are the same person...

you first caught langa's attention at S, during an underground skateboarding race

you seemed to win against every competitor with ease, yet you weren't as cocky about your victory as many others would've been

while others would let themselves be celebrated by everyone, you just slipped away from the crowd and tried to avoid others

langa couldn't even see your face, hidden behind a face mask and a hoodie that was pulled down too much

but he memorized what you wore and so during his next time at S, he started to look for you

and when he found you, asking you to race against him, you didn't even look at him, your head lowered

without even answering, neither accepting his request nor turning him down, you hurried away

the next time langa met you was at school, though by then he wasn't aware that he was talking to that mysterious person he met at S

no, you looked nothing like you did back then; wearing your school uniform and a skirt, unlike those gender nonconforming clothes you wore at S

without knowing it, langa had approached you to ask you to help him with something at school and he started to get closer to this side of you as well

for a long time, langa hadn't thought about that mysterious guy he saw at S, until the two of you crossed paths again one night

you were racing against another guy, when he tried to push you off your board while rounding a corner

langa watched as you lost your footing and fell onto the ground, your skateboard rolling a bit further until it came to a halt as well

he rushed towards you, seeing you laying there on the ground and when he carefully turned you around, langa was surprised to see your face

you were the girl from school! the same sweet and kind girl from school was that mysterious and distant skater that langa had assumed had been a guy all along…

though he didn't have much time to think about it any further, since you clearly needed to patch up your wounds and check if you broke anything

langa carefully picked you up and carried your unconscious body off the tracks

by the time you gained consciousness again, you were at a hospital, your ankle sprained and next to your hospital bed was langa, asleep on a chair

after all, he couldn't have let you alone and he needed to make sure you were alright

especially now that he knew that the skater he admired and the girl from school he liked were the same person…

Renga HCs & more

-Langa has a necklace from Reki with the infinity symbol and Reki has a bracelet with the same. -Langa likes to fidget with it as he goes about his day and so does Reki.

-Langa noticed Reki always ruining his hoodie strings and gifted Reki a chewable fidget necklace.

-Reki tends to fidget with Langa’s things- including his watch at lunch. Langa just finds it amusing and funny.

Impulsive oneshot kinda:

“Just a few words”

One day Langa stares intensely at Reki’s headband with curiosity, wanting to touch it. Reki knows he wants something just doesn’t know what. So, he has them stop their skating a moment to inquire. Langa replies in his quiet and usual tone, “I want to fidget with you.” Then, looks up from the skateboard. Reki’s face blooms red, “I-I mean if.. you’re sure?” He rubs his neck a bit in embarrassment. ‘Does he mean like play with my hair or fingers?’

Langa’s head tilts. ‘Reki always fidgets with my stuff, what’s different now? Is my Japanese incorrect? How could Reki misunderstand? And why is he so red?’

“I’m sure.” Langa replies, looking Reki in the eye, seeming to long for the headband like a lost puppy.

For Reki, who thought differently of Langa’s words, he blushes furiously before huffing, “Jeez, you’re so.. embarrassing about this stuff, dude.” Then shakes his head. Langa should just ask if he wanted to hug. Did he want to cuddle or something? Why is Reki the one who has to guess? “Fine. I guess.” He says, although his voice comes out far too soft.

Langa’s eyes light up as he steps forward. Reki lifts open his arms and closes his eyes… only to find that Langa while having stepped closer, now has his hands around Reki’s headband. ‘He isn’t..’

Reki is utterly embarrassed at this point and decides to push it off like he was stretching. But before he can do so, Langa wraps his arms around Reki in return, chuckling at the yawn Reki had let out.

“You’re so cute.” Langa says quietly. Reki let’s his head fall on to Langa’s chest to hide his blushing. “S-shut up.” This only furthers Langa in his quieted laughs.

Langa feels the texture of the headband, taking note of it’s softened edges. The design is stitched with patchwork so utterly Reki that he can’t help but smile at. He then wraps it around his wrist, feeling perfectly snug. A part of him wants to see how Reki would look with the headband pushing all the hair from his face but he doesn’t want to overwhelm Reki. ‘God. He’d be adorable.’

With Langa’s abrupt quietness, Reki ultimately get’s curious and looks up. To his surprise, Langa is smiling. A smile that feels like a rare bliss or treasure, especially when he knows it’s because of him.

Reki shifts his head back down as Langa’s chin falls to rest on Reki. They sink into each other’s warmth and comfort, hearts pounding in their ears. Langa strokes a hand through Reki’s hair, playing with it and feeling enamored by the curls and their softness.

“Thanks” Langa says softly while he looks down. Reki just nods, hiding his head in the other’s shoulder as they hug.

They stay like that a while, eventually sitting down next to each other before treating themselves to food. Reki demands Langa be more clear with his words in the future- which only serves to confuse Langa since he thought he’d been perfectly clear.

Reki just sighs, flicking Langa and calling him a hopeless idiot before going back to eat. As Reki stares off, Langa can’t help the small smile that graces his lips. He never knew he could create such warmth from a few words, let alone find himself living life this way.. happy and it was all because of Reki.

SK8 Boys + Pastry Chef S/O headcanons

Adam

Not allowed to have sweets as a child, so he massively overcompensates as an adult.

Probably met s/o in a fancy, French style baking and fell in love with their cakes.

Would have Tadashi go and pick a new one up almost every day, until he had to meet the baker himself.

Greedy with their dishes. He appreciates that they are very skilled, and everyone loves their baking, but he wants it all for himself.

Langa

Not a huge sweet tooth, but he likes the things s/o makes.

He acts as sort of a taste tester and sounding board for new recipes while they are working through culinary school.

He much more prefers watching them bake. Rolling out the dough. Carefully mixing the ingredients. The cute little furrow in their brow while they wait for it to be done.

Tries to help sometimes as a cute couple activity, but just ends up getting flour, eggs, and sugar everywhere.

Joe

Loves it. He can bake, but he prefers to work on savory dishes.

They probably met when Joe put out an ad for a new pastry chef, started working together, and almost instantly started dating.

As a chef himself, he appreciates all the hard work they put into their baking. Making sure that it’s perfect.

His favorite dish that they make is Japanese style tiramisu. A perfect combination of his favorite flavors & favorite style of cooking.

Cherry

Pretends not to have a big sweet tooth, but really does.

Prefers s/o’s baking to all others. To the point that he refuses to eat any other commercial sweets anymore.

Gets very pouty if they don’t make or give him something every few days.

Tries to be conservative with the sweets they give him (to savor it and he knows he is being unreasonable in wanting them to make something for him all the time) but it never works out.
