Kinda considering a bernadoodle because they're the two breeds I think would work best for me tbh, I know it's a kind of taboo to have a doodle, especially since none of them are purebreds, but poodles and bernese mountain dogs are both amazing dog breeds with traits that are very important to me tbh. Also: purebreds are often inbred, which can come with a lot of issues. I'd rather take a mixed breed with two parents of different breeds with fewer genetic issues than one purebred puppy with all the diseases in the damn world. I've also decided to save myself thousands by adopting a puppy in the fostering system. It's much easier to tell that they've been cared for, and they're almost guaranteed to be fixed, up to date on shots, and potty trained!
On top of both of these breeds being the perfect height and weight for what I need, burnese mountain dogs are low-energy but still incredibly intelligent, and they have a great temperament that might dull down what I'm worried about with getting a poodle: the need for constant mental stimulation in different, non-repeatative ways. Plus: they'd be hypoallergenic with extra unique coat patterns while still being able to be groomed like a poodle! I also think the amazing health of the poodle genes might rub off on the burnese mountain dog genes and keep my dog healthier overall. Tbh I'll take almost any kind of doodle if they're going to grow into the right height, I'm getting a little desperate. As long as they come from a good breeder, I should be chill.
Walking the dogs through the snow. They seemed to love it.
