Friends, Romans, Countrymen,
Can we do a Blue Castle book club?
I know most of you haven’t read it but I think you’d love it! Here is my pitch:
64,000 words (shit, am I really reading ff longer than this book on the regular?)
The humor & general vibes of it feel like something you all would enjoy
Very Everlark coded (Haymitch, Peeta, & Katniss are all there if you want them to be.)
Feat: fake dating/marriage, emotionally abusive family written extremely well, witty one-liners, true love, escaping into the wilderness to become antisocial lichen, and much more
Available on Project Gutenberg for free: https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/67979/pg67979-images.html
Tag anyone you think might be interested (no pressure!)
Update: Reblogging this shortly with the details, etc! See below!

Farewell, my beloved friend. Henceforth we must be strangers living side by side, but my heart will be ever faithful to thee.

Compare classic literature characters that share names and if they would get along. I’ll go first.
1. I think Jane Eyre and Jane Fairfax would get along well. What with the governessing and coming from a poor background. As well as marrying obnoxious men even though Frank Churchill retains his limbs at the end.
2. Henry Crawford and Henry Tilney would not like each other at all.
3. Frederick Wentworth and Hale have sailing going for them so they would have at least something to talk about.
4. Anne Shirley definitely has the energy to make friends with everyone (because she’s unbelievably kind), so it’s obvious she and Anne Elliot would be friends.

So we've come to the end of what I've decided is Part 2! I'll be taking a couple months to build up a buffer of pages going into Part 3, especially because since starting this project, a lot of my circumstances have changed - mainly that I'm working full time again and I don't have as much time to dedicate to this project as I used to have. That said - this puts us past the halfway point of this project!
Regardless, I'll be back as soon as I can be. I want to finish this project before moving onto new projects, so don't worry, this won't be left unfinished!
To everyone who's commented/liked/reblogged: thank you so so much! It's really really helpful and encouraging to see people respond positively to this project, especially on days when I'm particularly frustrated.

To whom it may concern:
I’m running a book club for A Tangled Web kicking off Sunday, January 7th.
This book is broken into six sections which makes it a nightmare to chop up for Tumblr. I’m going to queue the daily readings here ahead of time and they’ll drop each morning at 6am Eastern time.
Tags to use:

Ok that’s all the boring stuff. Enjoy the holidays and we’ll kick off January 7th!
Here’s the link to the whole book on Project Gutenberg: http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0201011h.html

General content warning: Montgomery does have some bad takes in this book. I do not condone or excuse them.
Schedule:
This book really is the worst to break up so if you’re trying to read ahead:
It’s divided into large sections and each section has smaller parts. We’re going to read one part per day (with the exception of a couple days with two because some parts are like—a paragraph long).
Sorry it’s not easier to schedule! Take that up with Montgomery.

Gilbert Blythe being like "guess I'll die" after the girl of his dreams rejects him and then actually almost dying for real is the most iconic thing I've ever seen. Bare minimum if you ask me
