sometimes i want to tongue-in-cheek post like "you all need to listen to shitty music" in reference to like finding random bandcamp albums and listening to artists w two dozen monthly listeners and appreciating them and adding them to your playlists and enjoying them but i cannot make myself call these artists i listen to shit or bad because i genuinly think theyre good despite sometimes low audio quality/cliche lyrics/undistinguished vocals/etc like. i am a serial low monthly listener artist enjoyer have found some of the best music construction and lyrics in these albums yknow. even putting aside calls to support local scenes and indie music or we loose subcultures and venues and artists these are still skilled people make genuinly good art and i feel bad reducing them to indie playlist titled shitty emo indie or whatever 👍like obvi youre not hurting them by saying such things but it feels redactive.

#idk how to word this better and like. yr not a bad person for calling x local folk punk band shitty whiny emo if your still supporting them #lol and i do like those posters and call to actions that say 'support shit art' 'support bad bands' but personally when its done constantly #it feels as though they arent being taken seriously as artists when they are discounted in such a way. lol #uhm anyways stream kvyle. new music this summer.#fully acknoleging this is a non issue like. dont think this is where my energy is going haha

that post that just went around abt playing indie games you find off itch.io randomly that last like half an hour and to support them and follow creators and keep indie games alive more than just the ones that blow up on steam you all need to do the same for music too like literally go on spotify type random words find some ep w a few thousand if even listens that released in the last couple years go on their bandcamp and go through the artists reccomended releases go to their ig and look at reccomended accounts and artists theyve collabed with listen to indie quarentine projects that released one 20 min diy album and immediately split up for the love of god listen to music not in english and start following random bands you find on ig with 5k followers i dont mean this in a “become edgy and only listen to underground shit” but in a please find shit to listen to support small creators and just find expiremental stuff you like !!! ugh!

#like for example kvyle released their album last night midnight. ik them because the drummer was is david boring who i found off some asian #indie music highlight album. now i go on the bandcamp and see that theyve set up 'kvyles reccomended' and click through that and find a #handful of eps i add to my watch later its not hard like. i simply think there is so much music in the world good and band and i mourn the #fact that i cannot listen to it all but i will try <3 !#please dont take this as me just bragging abt listening to obscure music i just think people should listen to more shit.#listen to hong kongs noise scene listen to thai indie surfer pop there is so much that youre not gonna find through random spotify playlists #but even then like there are spotify made 'thai indie highlights' playlists idr what theyre called #like a lot of it is going to be bad and weird but who gives a shit just click the next ep in the sidebar
