Headcanon: Kurt's mom used to sing The Beatles to Kurt to comfort him so when Burt ends up in the hospital, it only makes sense for Kurt to dedicate I Want to Hold Your Hand to Burt. It also makes sense why he would sing Blackbird when Pavarotti dies. So during the course of Blaine dating Kurt, Burt let's Blaine in on this little family tradition which is why, during what Blaine hopes to be one of the biggest moments of their lives, he takes advantage of Beatles week and uses All You Need is Love to propose to Kurt. (Also bonus that All of Me has that "I'm on your magical mystery ride" line in it.) Reminding Kurt that Blaine is here for the long haul, through thick and thin, regardless of what happens. He's Kurt's family, his soulmate, his comfort.
