At 2:46 p.m. on 11 March, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 7 (recorded at Kurihara-cho, Miyagi prefecture) struck approximately 130 kilometers off the Sanriku coast. One hour after this earthquake shook the islands of Japan, a 15-meter-tall tsunami swallowed up the Fukushima nuclear power plant in an instant. But that was only the start of the nightmare. With its cooling function lost, the power plant fell into a dangerous and uncontrollable state.

Over the course of eight episodes, this multi-layered drama faithfully captures a disastrous incident from three different perspectives based on careful research. "What happened there on that day?" This story seeks to answer this question based on the true events of seven intense days from the perspectives of government, corporate organizations, and the people on site risking their lives. This series is developed and produced by Jun Masumoto, who crafted massive hits such as the "Code Blue" series while also delivering powerful social drama series such as "Shiroi Kyoto" series and "Hadashi no Gen." The two directors of this series are Masaki Nishiura, who has worked alongside Masumoto for many years as the director of the "Code Blue" series, and Hideo Nakata of the "Ring" series.

The Days premieres today

The Days, the new TV series from Masaki Nishiura, Hideo Nakata, and Jun Masumoto, is out today.

Any actors with multiple roles in toku that surprised you? For me it'll always be Kurihara Hitomi and her roles in 555 and Ryuki... It's so creepy how different they are...

oh what the hell. years now. and i Never figured that one out on my own. both of them are very quirky and odd i suppose but in totally different ways so yeah she really has the range, huh...

i guess the obvious is still hagino who, like. even if i’ve known about it for forever it’s just incredible that he ended up being 1) the most frivolous idiot of all time akira changerion and then 2) nasty edgy murderman asakura not too much later. how is it even possible to be known for 2 roles this entirely opposite.

and i remember when ishiguro hideo was announced for orb and we all kinda lost it bc we only knew him as that annoying villain kid from den-o. and now he’s a kind, cowboy-adjacent himbo. talk about a glow-up.

Hello, I’m Nakamura Reno.

The Musical ‘October Sky – Beyond the distant sky-‘

All of the 27 performances in Tokyo and Osaka have finished!

Thank you so much to everyone that came to the venue or watched online!

Having worked on this musical since August and having it finally be over I can beath a sigh of relief and say ‘It’s all over now!’ but at the same time having been around it for such a long time I’m conflicted between my feelings of sadness and relief that it is over. Lol

This is my first foreign translated musical I have performed but it’s a different sense of first that I’ve had before, it was also my first live orchestra. Was speaking in song really this difficult…!? Is essentially my biggest struggle, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t seem to do it, I desperately tried to come to grips with it and I tried my best every day. The experience I gained here was huge, I was blessed to be surrounded by people with whom I felt as though I didn’t deserve to be around and each and every day was filled with excitement.

To be honest, the most overwhelming thing that I felt this time was how inadequate I am. It felt like I couldn’t do anything right I couldn’t hold back my self-hatred and frustration. Even though this is how I felt it’s not something that can be changed right away. In situations like that I think that you really need to put in a considerable amount of effort to continue to move forward.

This decision and resolution is something I received from working on this musical. This is definitely a turning point in who I am.

Like when Homer let the rocket fly for the first time, kind of like Sputnik. Lol

He proved that people can change, and so I have no choice but to do it!

No matter how long it takes, I’ll show my evolution as a person. So I want you to be patient and please wait until then. I hope I’ll be able to stand on that stage again.

I’ll do more…than my best!! Lol

I’m going to put all my strength into doing my best!

I know it’s become a little bit long but I’m so grateful to have been part of such a wonderful piece of work and for all the meeting I made and to have breathed life into the character of Dorthey.

This work also encouraged me. The brilliance created by dreams and the power of influence that moved even the people around mem I could feel it from up close and I was able to make myself a new dream.

Please, I hope that this will be a piece of work that will remain in the hearts of those that watched it.

To everyone that supported us, thank you very much!

I was honestly overwhelmed by how cool they were in the coal mine scene. I’m honored to have a picture with both of them this time. !

Next, during practice and even in the dressing room, the person who listened to my stupid stories and hung out with me a lot, the already nostalgic feeling of seeing them laugh so much every day, I never thought we would ever be this close and I love you a lot Isobe Karin-chan!

On November 23rd at 20:00 it seems as though there will be a re-broadcast of the final Osaka performance.

For those that want to watch it again or for those that missed it the first time this will be your final chance so please check it out.

Personally, I guess unexpectedly, I’ve come to slightly realize that I’m competitive, but I’ve turned it into a conviction, I’ve been alive for 20 year but I find it interesting that I’ve once again learned something new about myself.
