⚠️trigger warning ⚠️ Two weeks after I completed this mural it was tagged… by a local artist in our community @__social__anti__ . I don’t know him personally, but lots of my friends do and support him. His motivation to deface my clearly feminine art with a “positive message” came at cost of my peace and everyone involved with this mural. His statement was “you are not your mistakes”…. ironically, he is his mistake in my eyes…. He often tags walls with “respect artists”… but I guess….not all of them? Huh Luckily, we invested into anti-graffiti varnish, I definitely highly recommend it for everyone doing outdoor art. After a few hours of hard work, support from local citizens, 202 art crew @brandy_joy_to @therulerofelves & big clean up help from @longboard_living - we were able to clean it all off. All of it. Yay!!! 😄 Morals of this story: - tag artists not their art 🎨 - sometimes you are your mistakes, but there is place for forgiveness 🙏🏻 - use anti-graffiti for outdoor murals 💯 Thank you to everyone who is kind, caring and loving.
