discussing the rampant potential (tldr; might be mistranslated by google / interpreting things wrong ) sv spoilers under the cut.
ngl after last week i thought the introduction to the next arc would be less lore-based and more of an update as to where as.h and mah.iru were, but ... i have been. surprised. amusedly at BEST. this chapter seems to tackle a bit about as.h's past with the count, but also the realisation of his character and, for the first time since his breakdown in the earlier chapters ... is the first time he admits something he wants.
so to get to my, non adam, big point i saw potentially around two days ago, ku.ro admits a very big thing: he never ever wants to forget the name k.uro, nor mah.iru or the way he's thought his entire life. there's a tie somehow to tou.ma and tsu.rugi (which i'm trying to work out rn) but also you.tarou and gear, more importantly when yout.arou tells mah.iru (and ash overhears) that you don't have to be in a 'contract' to be friends with someone, that hearing a friends name is a sign of your promise. something to which ku.ro is still thinking about today, with a quote along the lines of: my name was given to me by a friend. even if you die, if someone calls out to me, i won't forget you, right?
and that hits. hard.but not as hard as the way ku.ro resolves to fix it, the way that is definitely going to change the whole outcome of s.v for me as a whole: ku.ro wants to ensure this, that he'll be able to remember everything, by breaking his and mah.iru's contract.
i can't tell if they've managed to this chapter, but opening this up gives me the best sv ending ive had in my potential sv endings. the person discussing it implied this might be given to each sv/eve pairing in the long run, but ... the potential of breaking the contract means that a.) they will never ever forget any part of the names the eve's we've seen in this series. but also, in some very fix-it kind of way, if the sv's wanted to ... they could break the contract and immortalise their eve if they wanted to. and thats big. thats not something many would have considered in the long run. and its been rolling in my head for weeks and i had to get it all out.
tbh i had 3 ideas of what might happen in regards to the end and the whole breaking the contracts so that the eve survives and the potential of them all living forever was like the best ending, my others were the idea of nothing changing and the third was the idea that killing the count would kill all the demons and all the sv's would actually be mortal again.
until the chapters out and the translations are out there's so much to think about but honestly these past two sv chapters have been so much good food and im literally blessed and rlly excited for the possibilities ahead ... im gonna buy all the editions of the manga i think at this rate.
