Synopsis: Hamato Yoshi– or, Mr. Splinter is a very wealthy man, owning multiple dojo's across New York City. When he announces a gala event in hopes of his son, Donatello, finding that special someone, your parent's force you– New York City's "IT Girl" to attend. What could go wrong?

Everything was set and ready. The food was from all around the world, Splinter had hired the greatest orchestra in town, and everything about the room screamed "I make eight figures!"

To put it nicely, you were an IT Girl. You were beautiful, rich, had deals with multi-million dollar brands, and the media loved you.

You made your way to the food table, heads turning by the mere sight of you.

This event was supposed to last for five hours. You only knew of Mr. Hamato because your younger cousin attended one of his dojo's.

You had never met his son, Donatello, prior to this. You had heard of him and his intellect, but had never met him in person.

"Oh, mi gosh!" You heard a voice squeal.

You turned to investigate the sound, only to find a humanoid turtle donning an orange bandana standing a few steps behind you.

"Hello, can I help you?" You asked him.

He was buzzing with excitement. "You're Y/N, you were on the cover of Vogue last month!"

You chuckled at his excitement. "And you are?"

"Oh–" The boy blushed, "I'm Mikey, I'm a really big fan," Mikey told you. "Can I take a picture with you?" He asked bashfully.

"Sure!" You popped the last finger sandwich in your mouth and crouched beside him, flashing your famous smile.

He waved as he walked away, cellphone in hand, likely to post the picture somewhere.

You continued on with your night, chatting up a few of your other rather famous friends.

"Not to sound rude, but," You furrowed your eyebrows. "Why are you here? You already have a girlfriend." You asked.

Your friend Kelly, a model, huffed. "My sister was invited, and you know she can't be left alone for more than five seconds," she laughed.

The two of you heard a gasp, followed by an "Oh my god, it's you!"

You both turned to see your mutual friend, Iseul, a kpop idol. You smiled as the three of you caught up with each other's lives.

You three laughed and genuinely had a good time. But during the entire conversation, you had a weird feeling. Like you were being watched.

From across the room stood– for lack of a better word, the prettiest girl in New York.

Y/N L/N, the quote-unquote "IT Girl" of New York was talking with two other girls. Kelly Blare, a model from Newfoundland, and Kim Iseul, a Korean singer known for her stunning appearance.

Y/N was mostly known for her modeling career. For some reason, brands fought to the death to even have one of their products in the background of an Instagram post.

She was on every billboard, every cafe window, every magazine cover, everything! You couldn't walk down the street and not see her face.

Everyone knew who she was.

Everyone knew her name.

Mikey was a big fan of Y/N, using her modeling shoots as inspiration for his various art pieces and following her on every social media he had.

The press adored her! Always praising her actions and beauty, painting her as this divine being who could do no wrong.

And Donnie would be lying if he said he didn't have even the smallest crush on her.

Donnie never expected himself to be one of those lovestruck fools, blindly admiring someone he barely knew. In fact, he laughed at the idea. Him, falling in love? Heavens, no. Impossible!

He never cared for the various celebrities and socialites his father met with. But when he saw you, something changed.

He hated to admit it, but the gossip was true: you were more beautiful in person than in a picture.

But there he stood, face redder than Raph's mask. A bead of sweat ran down the side of his head as he watched you laugh at something Kelly said.

Pathetic. He was pathetic.

You had captured his heart, just as he feared someone would. The sight of you nearly making him forget how to breath, captivating him with your presence alone.

But you looked so unreal! You've most likely had thousands, if not millions of people profess their love for you. What would make Donnie stand out from the rest?

Donnie's heart stopped when the two of you locked eyes. He dropped the glass he was holding and found himself running in the direction he came.

You chased after the person. "Wait, come back!" You called to them.

You found yourself running through the various hallways of the estate, the person not stopping for a second.

"I just wanna talk!" You called desperately, picking up your speed.

With every twist and turn, you tried calling out to the person, hoping to persuade them to stop and talk.

The person ran out the nearest door they saw, you quickly following in pursuit.

Your legs burned, begging to rest. But you weren't going to until you stopped this stranger in their tracks.

You climbed a steep, grassy hill. There was a large, looming tree standing at the peak, a bench underneath it. Sitting down, you smiled.

"Hi, what's your name?" You asked. That was a good conversation starter, right?

"I'm Y/N," You told him, hoping to gain his trust. "I like your suit!"

The person scuffled to the other side of the bench, you only following. They fiddled with their jacket for a few seconds before muttering a response.

"I'm sorry..."

You were confused. "For what?"

"For staring..." He admitted.

You bounced your knee, a smirk growing on your face.

"Well," you leaned forward– not to close, but close enough that you could see him blushing. "I'll forgive you if you tell me your name."

He bit his lip, looking to the ground. Sighing, he met your eyes.

"Donatello..."

You gasped. "Donatello? As in, Donatello Hamato?" You asked him curiously. He nodded.

"And you're Y/N," his ashamed frown began turning into that of a smile. "The prettiest girl in New York,"

You're reaction was a mix of shock and flattery. "Well, I think you're the smartest guy in this city," you told him.

Donatello's face went red. "Really?"

You nodded, "I've heard of all the different kinds of tech you've made, it's pretty cool!"

His face lit up, smiling like a child who saw Santa Claus. Someone praised his tech? He's been waiting for this!

The two of you rambled on about your interests, your passions and your dreams for hours.

From the corner of his eye, Donnie saw April and his brother's cheering him on from inside the house.

He rolled his eyes, ignoring his family and his blush for the time being, focusing his thoughts and smile on your adorable rants.

He sighed, realizing what was happening to himself. He, who laughed in the face of Cupid, was head over heels for the prettiest girl in New York City.

In the span of four hours, you had managed to make him smile and laugh more than he had in a single month.

But down the line, you and Donatello are as happy as can be. Whether sixteen or sixty, one thing is for sure: he couldn't take his eyes off you.

this is a very long ask - please read everything, I tried to clarify everything and I am ready to change my beliefs if I am wrong. edit: I know some people thought I was ignoring everything, I am sorry if this came late, I've been writing this for 3 hours straight. It's not about supporting... I don't "support" it. The thing is that I don't believe it as real [ the changing], I will try to explain... I believe that if creation is finished, this is all about identification. No one change their race, it's not the outer body which changes, but the inner man becomes aware of a new thing. Some people misunderstand their feelings and think they have to be from other race to feel pretty, wanted, or loved. But at the end we are only consciousness, and I believe that we exist to experience. So, now I am experiencing being brazilian.. but I know I am awareness, so I am aware of being brazilian right now, but I also know that I am everything at this exact same time, an arcturian, a hobbit, a hizuru (yes I fully believe that there is no different from "fictional" races and "races from this world"). If you believe that creation is finished and that there is no difference in what is Imagined and what is "material", you probably get it. Nothing can be changed, it only can be experienced.

Now let's talk about fetish... fetishizing a race. I remember when I was younger, I used to like to listen to kpop and at that time I wanted to be korean (i was 11) because I thought that only koreans were pretty, and I thought couldn't look as pretty as the korean girls, this was obviously a lack of self love. My desire was not to be korean, it was to be beautiful, those are different things. Then here we can see that sometimes we think we desire something, but it is not exactly what we truly want. So if you ask me if I support someone to manifest themselves to be another race, I don't support anyone 'changing' who they are if this is about not feeling beautiful, wanted, important, for there is nothing in the universe that can deny that all the forms of bodies are beautiful, they are beautiful, we know it, everyone knows it. And if I was not clear when I replied to this topic before, I hope that now I can be - do not be ashamed of your skin, your body, your face, your language, I am sure you are perfect as you are. I don't want you to feel like you have to be different. Most of time when people want to change their race it is not about experiencing the experience itself, to learn and comprehend different forms of life as awareness, but only to be "pretty", so you think you want to have asian eyes, but at the end you only feel that your eyes are not beautiful (they are beautiful!). I will quote this story from Neville to explain what I mean, one day a black man came to Neville, he said “you do not know my problem. It’s not a state of health, I assure you; it is look at the skin that I wear” and Neville said “What’s wrong with it?; it looks lovely to me” and the man said “Look at the pigment of my skin. don't be ashamed over the being you are, if you think you have to look like another race to be beautiful, important, wanted, loved, or anything like that, I tell you: You are lovely as you are, you are. No race is superior to another, everyone is part of the same God, the same God who made the entire universe.

So if I was not clear before, no, I don't agree with 'changing race'. If this is about someone feeling inferior of being who you are or feeling that you are less than what you are, you were born perfect, I hope you know that. What I meant is that I am not against experiencing different ways of being in terms of knowing more about the universe, even to know how others feel, to understand people better, to understand their pain, to learn more. I believe we are God experiencing his creation. - I had once a vision were I was an old man from the countryside, and I saw myself in his body and I knew I was him, I lived a day in his body, I worked in a farm, I lived in a poor home in this big farm, I felt his pain and hurt. After this vision (which happened naturally), I learned a lot of this kind of living, and I had a better understanding of life. This vision made me comprehend what millions of people feel, how they live and made me a better person since it was a beautiful experience (even though it was arduous). I did not scrypted that, It happened. And I learned that the difference between me and that old man was only my awareness. I just assume I am who I am, but at the end I am only awareness. I exist as him, he exist as me. This is our universe, it is beautiful, we exist in all ways. We can't even comprehend how this is beautiful, I have not even words to express this. And it was done already.. I was already him.

I remember that one anon shifted to egypt to understand how the pyramids were made, so he lived a egyptian life. It was not fetish, was the desire of experience, learning about our universe, our history. Is it that wrong? (I sincerely want your answer, for I really want to understand this).

What if someone want to travel to the middle-earth from the lord of the rings and be an elf or a hobbit? It is other race, it is. And we know there is no diference between our universe and the others, all of them exist and are real in the same way. So experiencing that life is wrong? (I am genuinely asking, I hope you understand).

Knowing that we exist in all ways, is it wrong to experience it when our desire is to maximize our understanding of life and learning, even to know how to treat others?

The idea of a pure race is hard for me to comprehend since I am brazilian and we don't have a "pure race" "We can say that the Brazilian ethnic composition basically comes from three large and main ethnic groups: the indigenous, the Africans and the Europeans." I am miscegenated, my skin is sort of olive (yellow?), my mom is light brown (she has native american ancestors), my dad is white, my sibling has a darker shade of skin and curly hair. We are all so different and unique in our own ways. Every brazilian person is different from the other, our culture extends to several different forms of art, food, accent, music and more. I love being brazilian, if someone would want to understand life through brazilian eyes, I have nothing against it. I feel like there is a big difference between fetishizing an ethinic and loving it, experiencing, living, comprehending, learning, not only being it in the exterior, but truly being it within.

Even though I do believe we exist in all possible ways, it does not mean that I don't understand poc struggles and everything that people of color went through in this reality. Knowing we exist in other races does not mean we can appropriate of others culture, someone asked me if I think if it is right to appropriate other countries cultures, and no, officially not. From knowing we exist in all different ways I comprehend how each way of life is precious, and we must respect every race and embrace ours (even when we are miscegenated of course) for all of us are beautiful, our culture, our bodies, or history. No race is superior to another and it will never be, loving those who are different from us (and loving ourselves as we are) is essential to our lives. If you are black, asian, a person of color, native, miscegenated or even if just don't feel like fitting in this world in the way you were born, changing your race is probably not your desire, your desire is the change of the feeling of self. Your desire is to love yourself as you are and be loved, and I tell you that you are, believe it, you are precious. You are the operant power of your reality, you are awareness, your race here is precious, your history, everything. You are God. Feel what you want to feel, feel wanted, loved, important, you already are.

I do not support 'changing' your race when this is about a superficial way of understanding what the heart wants, fetish or thinking that one race is superior to other when it is not. I do not support claiming yourself to be from this or that race when you don't even know who from your ancestors were from this race and you don't even know anything about this certain culture. This is not right and it will never be. Looking different is possible, but what is the point of claiming to be from other race when your heart and mind never experienced what people from this certain ethnic had went through? Looking as if certain race is not being it. Now if your desire is to shift to other reality, completely live other life so that you can learn more about your existence and learning how others life is, revise from the beginning and live as this culture lives so that you grow your spiritual knowledge in a place of unconditional love and RESPECT, I don't see a problem with it. I would love to know your opinions about this and officially correct me if I am wrong, I don't want to be disrespectful and I hope I can learn to be a better person, always. I apologize if I sounded rude in the past for not making my opinion clear and I am genuinely ready to change my beliefs if I am wrong. Han So-Hee in her own words.

I started writing this when I heard that Han So-Hee was rumoured to appear in Jungkook's upcoming MV for Seven. I love to explore the intersections between the world of kdrama/kfilm (which I have followed for some considerable time) with the world of music and BTS (which is a much newer love).

I haven't seen her in many roles but what I have seen convinces me she is someone who is working on her craft and constantly looking for ways to improve and deliver more for her audience.

After seeing her first in a supporting role in Abyss (2019), I've seen her with Song Kang in Nevertheless (2021) where she plays a sculpture student in a much more Bohemian world than we generally see in kdramas and then in My Name (2021) where she played a revenge seeking bad ass. She had to do a lot of physical training for the part and said that it was a habit that stayed with her.

"If I get hooked on something, I’m the type to do it no matter what anyone around me says. That’s one of the things I like about myself."

She isn't your average Korean actress. When she published photos of herself with tattoos she received a lot of public criticism in Korea but she has a clear philosophy to life which she is determined to stick to.

"I want to live youthfully while wearing, eating, and expressing what I like. As long as I don’t stray away from what’s ethical and moral, I want to live while expressing myself freely. Instead of being passive, I hope others also find their own spark and color to shine."

She loves and respects other women.

"There are so many cool unnis. I think people who live their life doing what they want are cool. ..........., since you only live one life, I want people to live while doing what they want. These days, I think people like that are the coolest."

She is serious about the people in her life and she is ready to express her love and support publicly. She is close to Song Hye Kyo and they often post for each other on Instagram. When Song Hye Kyo won the Baeksang Arts Best Actress Award for The Glory this year she was quick to post her congratulations on Instagram.

The two were set to star in the The Price of Confession together, that project seems to have been shelved but their relationship is still going strong. Song Hye Kyo recently sent a coffee truck to the set of Han So Hee's latest project Gyeongseong Creature.

Isn't it nice to see women supporting each other perhaps certain parts of the fandom could take a lesson from that.

I've seen people online compare Han So-Hee to Jungkook and having read her words, I don't think they are wrong. Both are unconventional individuals living in a strictly conformist society. Both are proud of what they call their stubbornness which I actually think is more about their being determined to live an authentic life on their own terms. Both seek to express publicly the love and support they have for the important people in their life. As such I think she is a good choice as a co-star for this music video.

It won't be her first time appearing in a Kpop MV. She appeared in SHINee's video for 'Tell me what to do' in 2016......

.....and to be honest if she is appearing in JK's video I hope he gives her more to do. It seems such a waste of a good actress to have her just strike a pose.

The man you previously knew, had long changed himself.

When did you last see him? Such question was not of concern to you.

You knew somewhere he was there. Living as someone new, completely unaware of the damage he had done to your heart.

You stood at the crowd, at the front, watching the famous kpop star DG walk out of his own company, PTJ entertainment.

The crowd cheered upon him, girls screaming and asking to take a pic of him.

But you weren't interested in such pathetic things, the reason you were here was different.

DG stood there greeting his own fans, until his eyes batted at you.

Something about the way he looked at you, maybe he knew who you were, and maybe he was the one you were looking for.

He inched closer to you, face frowning in fury.

He seemed to be questioning your appearance at such a place, and your intentions as to why would you come at this place? Why would you ever wish to meet him again? He thought he had long disposed of you.

"James lee" you spoke, his eyes widened, you found out what he had become after disappearing for so long. You had discovered him yet again, but now as someone new, someone you'd hate him for now.

"I know you're James lee" this time, the pink haired man wasted no time, turning around to walk away from the disappointment which stood in front of him, despising him, cursing him.

"I thought I'd never see you again."

"fuck you asshole.." Tears ran down your face.

"What a disappointment" he quoted. you threw a pebble at him, it hit his back. Yet he didn't stop walking away, he cared not the slightest about you.

All you were were just a pawn to him, and your pathetic feelings.

And why did he never ever tell you that he was somewhere there?

And what about all the times that you cared for him? Was it not enough?

What did you do to be left like that? All alone without any explanation, without ever a word spoken to you? Without him even realizing that maybe what he was doing was wrong?

All this just to become a fucking kpop idol whose life revolves around his popularity?

You despised him. You really did.

Everyone else, from the first generation, despised him too, since he was the legend of the first generation.

someone who broke the spirits of many many people. He did the same to your feelings. He was never a man made for your love.

"I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE" you cried at him from the crowd, everyone else was caught in awe that you would yell such a thing at such a prestigious person.

But they didn't know that you had a personal grudge against him, or that you knew him personally.

And why would you ever care about these stupid little gremlins wasting their life on someone who wouldn't even care if they died.

You hated him a lot, everyday you wished he would cease to exist one day. Everyday you wished you'd never see his face again, or even hear of him again.

i saw the woobification thing! although i havent interacted with the fandom long enough to get a concrete feeling of how far it goes with, well most of the characters, but tam and linh specifically. curious what u think abt it and if u could clear it up a bit!

the best comparison i can think of is low key the way white people in the kpop fandom tend to talk about the idols? where there's this weird idealization of them as soft and sensitive but refusing to show that part of themselves because they're too dark and mysterious and bad and whatever. but a lot of the time they do that in a kind of feminizing way which plays into that stereotype of asian men not being masculine; for instance, i've seen people in both fandoms post about how tam/an idol "still enjoys feminine things like makeup." obviously i am in favor of breaking down the gender binary around activities, but when you're headcanoning just tam as someone who acts less masculine and not doing the same for other characters like fitz or dex it gets kind of weird! i also see him headcanoned as short a lot, but in a "uwu small angry cinnamon roll pouty face" way that kind of woobifies him? and i guess in general the parallels just rub me the wrong way a little because they remind me very much of the low key fetishization of kpop idols (how they get written as shy and uwu and sensitive and emo).

there's also a huge tendency to headcanon tam as mlm/transmasc (which inherently isn't bad! i'm queer and nonbinary and i love headcanoning characters as queer and nonbinary too! but i feel kind of weird about how tam gets so consistently headcanoned as gay and trans), which also happens a lot in kpop fandoms. and again, nothing wrong with trans/queer headcanons or even trans/queer headcanons of asians folks specifically, but i think there's kind of a pattern of people immediately deciding asian men have "lgbtq vibes" and it's got some funky implications.

i guess i'm saying people need to think very hard about what about asian men makes them want to hc them as trans/queer and what that says about how they think about asian/lgbtq men. because asian men tend to be seen as less masculine/more feminine and softer than white men, and it kind of feels like people headcanon them as trans/queer because there's an association of softness/femininity with queer men and with trans men. which is also playing into a shitty transphobic/homophobic stereotype as well as a racist one. folks also tend to feminize him more when shipping him with other male characters, which kind of implies that there needs to be a masculine and feminine man in mlm relationships.

just gonna close off by quoting some stuff i've seen in posts, not to call anyone out specifically, but to demonstrate how pervasive an issue i feel it is:

"loner energy" "dramatic emo" "skater grunge aesthetic" "my chemical romance"

"tam is the moodiest...person ever"

"his shove his feelings in a bottle mentality is showing"

"he keeps his curiosity under lock and key hidden underneath his prickly attitude"

"his s/o's parents probably wouldn't like him [at first] because of his exterior, but love him once they realize he's really just a lovesick puppy for his s/o"

"is never turned off by feminine activities"

"tam and dex both scream gay to me. like they are either gay or aroace because i just can't see them liking women"

Gklk distracted me but I'll talk about the other songs😭😭

Ch∆mp1on - Unreadable ass title but it's worth it. This is THE song for the finals. This song is giving Kpop, Skz specifically😭. This one's really good in every aspect, nice line distribution, nice instrumental and nice structure!!! The slow-down before the chorus is what really makes it hit harder, I'd call it an anti-drop but not sure if it counts (anti-drop is when a song builds a lot of hype just to drop into a more empty and slow instrumental, idk if it counts cuz after the slow down we do get a harder drop). It's catchy as hell too and you KNOW these guys are serious with the intensity for the verses, Baw is always cutesy and positive but here they went ALL IN. They're confident and willing to fight whoever gets in the way, like this competition is gonna be rough. Bae isn't playing around!!

Two Crowns - This is the more "underwhelming" song, don't quote me ok it's just, less intense. They don't have to scream to my face for the song to be good and I do like the song, but in comparison to Gklk and Bae, you get the really smug and prideful vibe from Cozmez. Gklk and Bae are fighting with their lives to win and their songs reflect that, but Czmz are more overconfident and laid back. This one song even has a lot of little exchanges about it like the "Nayuta. Tell em now🤭" and that's cute, you guys know you're cool. But I think the overconfidence made this song the least appealing, it doesn't feel that "desperate" for the victory so it's like they're there to kill time. I know they aren't, but the song isn't giving for me😭 don't get me wrong It's AMAZING but the worst of the bunch. Sorry guys💔💔💔

It’s 7AM I haven’t slept yet for unknown reasons and I legit had the most interesting and infuriating interaction on Twitter and I want to talk about it since I run an astrology blog on here and get asked about idols ideal types and so on and so forth…

first off let me state where this all began…a video on TikTok was/is going around with someone saying “which kpop idol/idols do you think you can pull?” for those who might not understand it’s basically asking, which idols do you think you could date.

anyone who did this video did it for fun and as a joke HOWEVER this one girl was literally getting teased for no reason. ppl saying that she was making fun of the idols and what not. she legit said seonghwa (i think sorry if I’m wrong) likes star wars, so does she. hoshi thinks he’s a tiger so why not? and suga admitted to writing fanfic (which i wish i knew korean so i can read it 🤣) at the end of the day she said they’re just normal ppl like us.

i scrolled down and saw someone saying and i’m paraphrasing here: “anyone who thinks they can actually date an idol is sick.” normally, i don’t bother with those comments because we all know our chances are like finding a single needle in a barns worth of haystacks…but on this day i was feeling a little bolder with my actions.

i asked her why? being an idol is a job an occupation. what makes her think that others are sick for wanting to date someone who is an idol? she goes and says that i’m sick bc i want to date an idol. never once said it, even said i have no interest dating a celebrity, yet bc i’m defending those who dream apparently it makes me sick too 🤷🏽‍♀️

then!!! out of nowhere she asks “are you white?” i asked why does my ethnic background have anything to do with the conversation. she repeats with more assertion “answer the question.” i don’t bc again, my ethnic background has nothing to do with the convo. she says and I quote “you being white and thinking you can date idols says a lot about you. Please seek professional help and education.”

😑 and then she blocked me bc to her i’m white.

but because i love you guys here, i will tell you. i am white and black. so she was only half right 🤪 but to think someone who block someone or completely shut down anything they had to say bc of their presumed ethnicity is disgusting. i know it happens all the time and it’s terrible but she is definitely not helping this type of mistreatment.

so, your auntie/sis here wants to tell you something… i don’t care where in the world you are from, what skin color, race, size you are! if you find someone that you like and you think you can date them (celebrity or the garbage person idc) talk to them, get to know them, and shoot your shot. the worst thing that will happen is you get turned down, but you know what, that’s just the universe saying they aren’t the one for you. and that in itself is okay. you’ll find that special someone 🩵

don’t be like that girl okay? she needs the help 🤭
