Ryūzō, for the longest of times, has put his feelings, both on romance and sexual attraction, on the back wheel. It's not that he isn't interested in meeting or marrying someone. It's just that he doesn't know if he is fully ready for the new chapter in his life of marriage or being with someone. He's imagined it, but only sporadically. Takumi teases him that he is going to die alone at this rate. Ryūzō doesn't pay that much attention... sometimes.
In the slight chance he does get a crush, Ryūzō is a perfect gentleman about it. If he spots his crush in the school hallway or street, he'll purposely walk in their direction to greet them despite having to go a different direction. He'll carry textbooks or bags for them without a complaint, making a lot of the other females on campus (both teachers and students) swoon. And in between class time, he'd make his crush some tea or coffee for them to drink whilst grading papers. He'd also, surprisingly, smile more in her presence.
This behavior, unfortunately, wouldn't go unnoticed by some of the other students. Some students, those with a death wish, would tease the Languages professor, and he'd respond by giving them extra homework.
Takumi, unlike Ryūzō, is very upfront when it comes to liking someone. However, unlike the stoic and good-looking Languages professor, Takumi is absolutely horrendous when it comes to anything romantic. He'd like women to see that beneath all his muscles and warring instincts, lays a poet's soul and a deep sensitivity. The problem is that beneath all his muscles and warring instincts… there's actually not much else in that over-muscled size body of his.
However, it's not for lack of trying. And Takumi does try. Boy, does he try! However, as stated, he doesn't know what to do when it comes to romantic endeavors. If you've ever seen the cartoon, 'Johnny Bravo', that's typically how Takumi acts with most women. And despite his numerous times of striking out or getting slapped in the face, he cannot see exactly what it is that he's doing wrong.
However, if he likes the person, like really, really, really, likes them, he's going to make an effort to change himself. He's going to watch his overly-obnoxious flirting and is going to cease being loud and boastful. He'll try to remember to speak in a calm, passive voice and be more humble. He may even use Ryūzō as a reference, copying his mannerisms and trying to act more calm, cool and collected, which may or may not work out. All in all, it depends on luck to determine whether or not Takumi's crush notices.
Kotono, much like Takumi, isn't all that good when it comes to romantic encounters, which is ironic because she's been asked out more times than any other female teacher on campus combined, both by her fellow staff members and even by some of her students. However, she always refuses or denies them.
One of the reasons for this is because she knows that typically men only want one thing from her, and that's to get her in bed. She's had to punish many students that tried to get 'handsy' with her in the nurse's office. The second reason is because she doesn't want them finding out about her lifestyle, i.e., how she keeps her home. She is absolutely atrocious when it comes to housework, and should anyone besides Ryūzō find out, she'd die of embarrassment.
However, the main reason is because she doesn't want anything distracting her from her main goal, which is to find out what happened to her younger sister. Having a partner would just distract her from that. Until she's found out what became of her younger sibling, being with someone is not on her list of priorities.
Should Kotono do develop a crush, she is a lot more open with herself. She takes care of her appearance and tries to behave more... respectable of a woman her age. Though she isn't worried about partners right now, she is worried about not finding someone to be with later on down the line. She is only in her early 30s, but she is worried about what will become of her as she gets older. Will men still find her attractive or not? Who knows...

"Professor Mizutori. ...To say that he is incredibly high-strung would be an understatement. He doesn't let the slightest disturbance in his class go, and I've seen him dish out punishments and detentions for the slightest misdemeanor. It's quite obvious he's not everyone's favorite teacher, but I don't think he's trying to be anyone's favorite. I think he only cares about making sure students understand his material, which I can understand."
"Personally, I think the students complaining about him are just the ones who cause the most trouble or do the least amount of work. I suppose that's why Yorii is always getting in trouble in his class..."
Takumi Wakaba
"Ugh, Professor Wakaba. I didn't imagine it was possible to dislike a class so much until I attended physical education. I used to get on Elliot for skipping it so much, but now I'm starting to understand why he chooses to. Truthfully, I wouldn't mind P.E. so much, but Professor Wakaba always insists on having his classes outdoors! And in case you forget, the sun and I... we don't really see eye-to-eye right now, for some reason. It's only due to the fact that I have a "doctor's note" that the professor allows me to rest from time to time. Ugh, it's moments like these that make me wonder why P.E. even exist..."
Kotono Ohara
"Professor Ohara is... for lack of a better word, lax with her teaching. Truthfully, she reminds me a bit of Professor Umemoto. The only difference is while Professor Umemoto sometimes can't work up the nerve to teach his class, Professor Ohara can't work up the energy to teach her class. If she isn't sleeping in the nurse's room, she can be found wandering the halls in a daze, for some reason. If not for the fact that she does teach, I would have wondered why she was here."
"Still, when she does teach, the professor actually does a very good job of it. I don't really care much for physics, but I do still do the work because it is required. I know Elliot loves this class cause it has something to do with his profession, but me... like I said, I'll do the work. But it truly bores me.

"Though I've never met him personally, Takumi-san has told me much about his friend and colleague, Mizutori-san. He seems to be a very dedicated man. From the way he stands and carries himself, he is obviously adapt at using and wielding a blade. I'd like to know who his teacher was, or at least have a match with him. I'm certain there's much he could teach or show me."
Takumi Wakaba
Azusa smiles at the photo of Takumi, who has a boisterous smile on his face. "Takumi-san is a very good friend of my father. Apparently, my father was the one who tutored Takumi-san in the art of the blade. It must have been a long time ago, as I don't fully remember seeing him in our family's dojo. But still, the photos of him and my father together always brings a smile to my face.
"When I heard about what happened to him and his brother, I was shocked since I know full well that Takumi-san would never do such a thing. I was glad when he reappeared some time later. And I am also glad to see that he has not let his family situation dampen his spirits. He's offered to help in anyway he can to help save my family's dojo, for which I am very grateful for."
Kotono Ohara
"I've never met Ohara-san personally, but Fleuret-san tells me she often visits her at the museum. She seems to be a very smart young woman. Truthfully, I see a lot of my mother in her. ...Just without the laziness that comes with her after she removes her lab coat."

"...Maybe it's just my paranoia playing tricks on me, but I could swear that I have met this guy early on in my life, back when I was a teenager. I can't recall if I've seen him before, but I know that my family has had some dealings with... unscrupulous individuals before. It comes with my father being in the military, after all. ...Meh, I'm sure it'll come back to me.
"Aside from that, this guy has visited my restaurant once, I believe. He was a fairly quiet man, which I had no issue with. From what I hear, he's an English professor. ...Not one of my better subjects, if I'm being honest. My parents raised me up on Japanese and Spanish, and my Abuela speaks nothing but Spanish. So suddenly learning a new language was kind of hard. I did well enough to pass, but if you asked me to suddenly start speaking in English, I wouldn't know what to say."

"...Great, another Karada. Ugh, and I thought besides him, I wouldn't have to think about physical education ever again. "Most of what Aranai tells me about this man I take purely on face value, meaning I don't really know for certain if it's true or not. "The last of Aranai's teachers. According to her, Ohara-san's personality somewhat resembles Hifumi's from Shinjuku, in that she relies on an article of apparel. However, unlike his, which helps to combat his fear of women, her's is used to combat her laziness (The human mind is truly wonderous, at times).

Yuriko blinks as she looks at the photo in her hands. "Ah... It's been a while since I've seen the infamous "Shadow". One of the very few people on this planet that can keep up with me. He managed to escape me not many people can say they did that. I always knew we'd see each other again. Never thought it would be in a rap battle though. So you gave up the murder lifestyle to become a professor now huh? I can respect that. I did the same. I can't wait to see what he does in the division rap battle."

"You know he's either rather brave or rather thick-headed to flirt with me. I am not one most people would consider approachable. Kanra seems to like him though because he doesn't seem afraid of her. That makes him alright in my books."

"Professor Ryu is... well, he's very "demanding", to say the least. He doesn't allow any sort of disruption or disturbance in his class go unpunished. I lot of the students hate him, or, at the very least, don't have many nice things to say about him. I don't know if its cause he's quick to hand out punishments, or because he always seems to give out random quizzes with no explanation or warning. I'll admit, he's caught me off guard a couple of times with that, but I still manage to do... fairly well on his tests."
"Aside from that, Professor Ryu is one of the few professors in the Academy who doesn't try to stop me from hanging out with Mina-san. Plus, he always seems to step in with some of the other students are... giving me trouble. He seems scary, but... I really think he's a nice person, deep down."

"P-Professor W-W-Wakaba is a nice man, but... I really do not like his class! Everyday, it's always the same thing: running around the track, or playing dodgeball! And I'm always the first one to get out! And when I do, the professor always lectures me about not having enough 'youthful spirit or energy', whatever that means. Plus, he has a bad habit of using his kendo stick on me! Doesn't he realize that that isn't motivating me, so much as it is hurting me?!"
"I know he hates it when I skip his class, but I can't help it! I'm really not good when it comes to P.E.! Plus, that class always gives the bullies an excuse to hurt me! I really don't like it! I'm just grateful Mina-chan is there with me. Otherwise, it'd be a lot worse."

"Professor Ohara is one of my favorite teachers in the Academy! Even though I don't participate in her class, I do like to stay behind and ask her some questions. This doesn't make me very popular, but... well, I don't think anything I do will help me with that. But besides that, Ohara-sensei also sometimes lets me hide out in her office when I want to skip P.E., or get away from some of my... bullies. She's a really nice woman... even if she does sometimes have a habit of canceling class, for some reason. Besides that, I still do enjoy when she does teach class."

"I can tell right off the bat that this 'professor' is more than what he seems. Like Azusa mentioned, just from the way he carries himself, as well as the dark look in his eyes, this guy has undoubtedly seen some action on more than one occasion in his life. I'm almost tempted to ask him to spar with me, but I doubt he'd accept."

"Ugh, this guy reminds me of the musclehead from Aoyama... just with slightly more brain cells. ...Still, maybe I'm being too harsh. I mean, Azusa has nothing but positive things to say about the guy, so I guess he can't be too bad. ...But fair warning: he comes anywhere near me with the wooden stick of his, and I'm shoving it somewhere that the sun doesn't shine."

"Ha! I almost have to laugh at this woman's antics. She plays the part of a dignified teacher well, but we all know that's not who she really is. A shame, really. I could think of a lot of crazy stuff we could get up to if she wasn't a professor. Oh well! Maybe I'll invite her out for a drink sometime."

"My brother has nothing but positive things to say about these three, which is a shocker. “Mizutori sensei is a wonderful instructor who has come to the university to teach English. For a language professor, he seems to lack the skills to socialize sometimes, but he does make up for it with some thought provoking discussions. That is, if he can manage to strike up the conversation on his own. He can be a bit blunt about what he says, however, it isn’t anything I can’t handle. Ryuko has had much worse days and I couldn’t blame the man for his downfalls. Truth be told, I only struck up a conversation with him out of pity, but I find myself both regretting and thankful for my past actions. Mizutori sensei has a lot more to him than what is apparent to him. It would be great to talk more about Japanese history with him if he wasn’t so distant.”
Takumi Wakaba
“Wakaba sensei can be a bit… Overbearing I suppose. He was very adamant about sparring against me for whatever reason and I eventually gave in under the condition that we wouldn’t harm each other too severely. The judo that I had taken in my youth came in handy in that moment. Despite my qualms against using violence, using something like martial arts in a controlled environment can be thrilling. Ah, but yes, I did win. Pretty easily too might I add, but I had the advantage against him.”
“Wakaba sensei has come and gone from my side since then, but I fear he wants to try sparring me once more. Which… One match was enough for me. Besides, as I have reiterated to him countless times: ‘The art of giving orders is not to try to rectify the minor blunders and not be swayed by petty doubts.’ Wakaba should take our moment together as a lesson in judging a person by their looks and do something aside from trying to fix his blunders. Besides, I prefer to maintain a friendly, professional relationship with him. Not some new sparring partner for him to tussle with.”
Kotono Ohara
“Ohara sensei has been one of the few instructors who I have been able to openly talk about Ryuko with, since she works with him in her little side occupation. She is an interesting woman for sure. I mostly know her as a teacher who teaches physics, but the few times I have been able to meet her outside of work, she has been… Very fascinating to say the least. Her lab coat makes her into the most hardworking, elegant woman in her field, but once it’s off, she can be… Well, an entirely different person. Needless to say, Ohara sensei is a wonderful colleague and I hope that we can talk a bit more. I’d love to hear more on how Ryuko is…”
Kiya Kara
“I never imagined that I would get to see my colleagues create a team together. To stand with your fellow instructors into battle must be reassuring, knowing how every team member can contribute to the battle. I wish I could say the same of my own team, but it isn’t as if every team is perfect. I’m sure that there are things that Kiya Kara struggles with as well, and I hope to exploit that if we were to ever face them… With no hard feelings against them of course. They are my valued coworkers after all.”

“English teacher? Eugh… Well, I guess I can’t really say that anymore when I gotta use English regularly now. Going completely off of initial impressions, he’s probably a teach who’d give me disappointed looks. No reason really for that. I just think he’d look at me like that if I were to mess up or be noisy. I know my old high school English teacher did that to me 24/7… So there can’t be too much of a difference with a university professor.”

“Okay, this teacher I’d probably get along with! I mean most gym instructors are pretty easy to get close with. I should have gone to a bigger university instead of the art school I tried. Having a sports class in between all those dumb art programs would have been a lifesaver for me and my sanity.”

“Ngh… Science. My other weak point… Although I guess the other guys would probably argue that every subject is my weakness. I mean she’s pretty. If I were to judge her off of pure vibes I’d say that… She’s the kind of teacher who’d try to help me before giving up. Like, I bet she’s nice, but I’m sure I’d hit her limits at some point.”

“This team… Is a nightmare! Granted, they aren’t any of my old teachers. I can’t imagine what that would be like. I’d hate it if we went against them and they started going teacher-mode on us. I know there’s a lot of rival teams that could school us in the D.R.B. but the last thing we need is for a group of teachers to school us in the battlefield to the max!”
