A modern retelling that's somehow still the most faithful adaptation I've come across
An almost entirely queer cast! (aro, ace, pan, bi, nb, lesbian...)

Now that Dracula Daily is upon us all I would like to point everyone towards a podcast called Murray Mysteries by Knöves Storytelling. It's a modern adaptation of Dracula where most, if not all, the characters are queer and stays pretty faithful to the novel. It also doesn't have the forced Dracula/Mina romance that became popular to portray in media over time, which is a nice change.

The trailer for our newest project, Morland P.I., is out right now for our patrons on Patreon! It's been a long time in the making and we are so excited to share it with you this January.
Morland P.I. is a sapphic retelling of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey, starring Megan John as Kit Morland and Mel Nichols as Henrietta 'Henry' Tilney. Season 1 also features Cass Scott as Mrs Allen, Art Dominey as Mr Allen, Nadia Grimaldi as Eleanor Tilney, Tal Minear as J Thorpe, Marnie Warner as Bella Thorpe, Drew Frankie Victorie as Jamie Morland and a few familiar guests...

Deeply sorry for being weird in your asks but if you could only hug one Murray mysteries character which would it be (can't be beast we All love that dude)
hi apology rejected this is one of the best things ive ever seen in my asks <3
it'd have to be quincey cause he is Large, there is so much man to hug, he has big arms for hugging, he would pick me up and spin me in the hug i think
close second: Lucy, i think she'd give Great hugs, like a proper big closed-eyes sqeeze just whenever you need one
not to make anyone jealous but i know the cat who plays The Beast and have hugged him, it's as wonderful as youd expect until he gets fed up and starts scratching

Reasons to Love Murray Mysteries
So many! Murray Mysteries is a modern adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula in podcast format. It's created by @knovesstorytelling.
Accurate to Novel - While being a modern adaption, this podcast stays fairly close to the plot of the book. All of the characters you love get their time to shine and are characterized accurately! A few characters are gender-swapped, but again they are characterized so well and the story stays the same.
LGBTQ+ Representation - Most (if not all) the characters are queer, which is amazing to see. This includes non-binary, ace, and bi representation that is too rarely depicted in media. Representation matters, and personally it's been so exciting for me to see some of my favorite characters are like me!
Amazing Relationships - Again the characters of Dracula are undoubtedly my favorite part of the book, and they are rarely portrayed well in media. Murray Mysteries instead lets the relationships take front and center. Mina and Lucy's friendship is fantastic and will inevitably pull on your heartstrings. Seward's relationship with Van Helsing gets lots of attention, while Quincey and Art are equally allowed humor and depth. Finally, Jonathan and Mina get to be the amazing, supportive couple they are without any forced Dracula/Mina romance.
Easy to Listen - The podcast is super easy to listen to and is available on Spotify. The episodes are only a few minutes long so you can easily binge them all or take your time if you don't want to commit to a longer show. It's also so funny and you'll quickly become invested! Dracula as a vaping, sarcastic king? Iconic.
That all being said, I highly recommend giving it a listen! It'll make you laugh, cry, and everywhere in between!
