This thick conical piece has a dowel hole in the narrow end. Incised on the wide faces are "sacred trees" composed of tendrils and papyrus stalks. On the edges are lotus blossoms.

I just got an ask saying no one in the U.K. causes any fuss about situations like this because we all love paedophiles and they named Philip Schofield as an example. There were some other bigoted things I won’t repeat but you have to laugh. He wasn’t a paedophile but either way it was the single biggest story in every British paper for weeks, there were live blogs on national newspapers tracking minute by minute developments, it was everywhere on social media, and the outcry was so significant it single handedly ended what had been an almost unparalleled TV presenting career. It was a bigger story than Boris Johnson resigning. What the fuck are you talking about?

Luis Rubiales is such a knob because he's not very smart and he's not very good at anything other than being an absolute knob. You can put a bowtie on a pecker and it's still just a dick. Sport is like an estuary of business interests, money flows in no matter what because there are a million little billboards for businesses to put their names on. You don't need to be clever to collect those dollars, and the men in charge of these organizations are very often not clever. But worse, they think being the purveyor of billboards does make them clever. They mistake people laughing at them for laughing with them. They think their oversized salaries are actual wealth. Their fading bodies of passed athletic aspiration, which they think are distinguished and handsome, are merely over tanned and generic.

Luis is a knob because it is useful to others if he thinks the inconsequential role of advertising traffic cop for Adidas Iberia, futból is super important. An actual, clever, visionary, capable individual might want to *do* something and we cannot have that. The business of sport is the business of other businesses. Sport is just the vehicle, and Luis was never actually driving. If he stands in the way of the real business, he's going to learn that he is not the stream that fills the estuary, and real business people turn into beavers every day.
