"Then leave Gracie, you are dragging it. Let it go." Nika groans falling back onto her bed and rubbing her temples. "You're right Nika" Gracie slams the promise ring Nika gave her on the bedside table and walks out the front door.
"Gracie..fuck" Nika runs after her seeing her fully into her car and driving off. Running her hands down her face Nika pulls out her phone texting Gracie.
my love: i'm sorry baby
my love: can you come back please
my love: talk to me please
Gracie had pulled over and wiped the tears that fell down her cheeks. She wants her to talk to her when that is the entire point of their argument. All Gracie wanted from Nika was to open up and communicate with her, but that was too much for her.
The couple went through the whole communication argument before, but this time was worse. It was weird because Nika got better, but this was different. It was something more.
mrs. muhl: call me when you're actually ready to talk.
Nika read the message and wiped a quick fallen tear. She didn't mean for this to happen. She decided to just give Gracie space and to get time to think.
To Nika these past three days were miserable..practice sucked, she couldn't make any of her shots and all that was on her mind was Gracie. For Gracie, it was bad too. She failed a chemistry exam that she studied for three weeks on and that wasn't normal for Gracie.
Gracie argued with herself every time she would go to their messages and type a text then delete it not knowing Nika was on the other side seeing her text bubbles come and go.
Nika was currently sitting on the gym floor thinking about their relationship. "What are you doing weirdo?" KK asked coming to sit next to her. Nika just shrugged rubbing her temples. "You don't have to be tough Nika all the time, you know?." KK told her looking up into the stadium.
"Since you don't want to talk then you can listen. Gracie failed her major chemistry exam today and she's been a wreck for the past couple of days. Seeing you like this means a couple things. Either you guys are arguing or you two broke up. Putting two and two together and also seeing your mrs. right standing at the door means you got into an argument. You talk and she will listen so on and so forth" KK spoke grabbing Nika's hand and helping her up.
"Thanks, KK" Nika smiled hugging her. Gracie slowly approached Nika. "Hey"
"Hey"
"Can we go sit?" Gracie asks following Nika to sit on the bench. "I'm sorry Gracie.. none of this would have happened if I just talked to you" Nika stated putting her hands on her face. "I am trying to communicate with you, but I'm scared G"
"Scared?"
"What if I get too attached and we don't end up together. I love you G and I can't lose you. You're my favorite person to see when I wake up and go to sleep. I haven't slept since we last talked" Nika admitted finally releasing all her built-in emotions.
"Nika.. I can't say what the future holds, but I do know that I will do everything in my power to make sure we are still in each other's lives. I love you so much, Nika. I just want you to talk to me about stuff like this. It is my job baby" Gracie smiles wiping Nika's tear-stained face.
"Give me a kiss" Gracie pulls Nika's face to hers connecting their lips. "I've missed these" Nika smiles into the kiss picking Gracie up and placing her onto her lap. Her hands immediately going to her ass.
"Never take this off again. You hear me?" Nika pulls away and pulls out Gracie's promise ring that hung on a chain around her neck. "Yes ma'am" Gracie smirks knowing how that phrase affects Nika.
"We should go home"
"Mhm, we should"
