having adhd means every time you leave your room to perform a task you accidentally complete three completely different tasks instead before finally doing the intended task. and what that means is you do a side quest task, go back to your room, realize you fucked up, leave your room again, only to find another random cool side quest task you wanna do first AGAIN. SURELY this time you’ll remember to do the ACTUAL task you need to do after. rinse and repeat

#not confident about the ground floor other than the kitchen and bathroom are next to each other cause plumbing#there might be a small window in bedroom 1 ground floor cause the wall seems to not be blocked on the outside#yea bedroom 2 ground floor is noisy af cause street lvl windows and double staircase foot traffic lol#originally I was going to shove the bathroom under the staircase lol#yeah so idk where to put the attic staircase#also the attic interior is way too long to fit in the roof#unless the attic is the mf tardis#anyway do not hold me to this lol#lmao updated commentary ->#changed up the layout based on new info and some comments I got on the first/rough version#it's still not 1:1 to the canon designs but I've tried to place things in a way that make sense and fit into the building (sorta)#the interior only makes sense if the building was way bigger than it's depicted as#also I wanted to put the attic access in the closet but it didn't fit right#been treating the windows on the side of the building fast and loose cause man idk I don't get paid to do this#the only way it makes sense that there's light coming through from both the back and front windows is if there's an open enough space behind#maybe the building behind 221b is like.. long and narrow. or L shaped or something idk#still don't know how I feel about the main and attic stairs placement and layout but they work(?)#reference#ref

#ok the story behind this is: like 2 weeks ago i was at a friends apt (studio) and someone went to wash their hands in the kitchen sink#and the host went ‘are you crazy. wash hands in the bathroom sink’ and me and my other friend thought that was so bizarre#so we were asking him all sorts of questions like ‘what if you’re cooking and you need to rinse smth off your fingers’#and he said no hands are washed in bathroom sink only#so i’m curious if other ppl feel the same way or not#personally if i need to wash my hands and i’m in the kitchen i will wash my hands there. usually there aren’t dishes in the sink at home tho#bc we have a dishwasher#but like i never rlly thought abt it. if i’m like oh i need to wash my hands and i’m in the kitchen i will wash my hands there#like we have hand soap there next to the dish soap. idk what do y’all think#i think also it being a studio apt helps cuz like at home if i were to use the bathroom sink only i wld have to walk#halfway across the house every time i needed to wash or rinse my hands off#which seems inconvenient#but in my friends apt the bathroom & kitchen r directly adjacent

i live here with the love of my life or whatever!!! we’ve been watching starstruck and playing BG3. in the past week, i’ve made chocolate chip cookies with pretzel bits, a seedy whole wheat bread, pesto with my own basil, rosemary garlic flatbreads, banana-bread-spice-cake, lemon garlic chicken soup. it might get cool enough to open the windows this week. we’re hosting a board game night with friends in a couple days. we are talking about maybe adopting a wee beastie. this is good. 💗
#it’s a big two bedroom and i had the initially controversial but brilliant idea to#make the ‘living room’ the dining room and the ‘second bedroom’ the den#so the big kitchen table is the hearth of the main living space and movie nights are so so cozy!#and the ‘dining room’/breakfast nook is a reading/study space#it’s such a good setup i love it!#and this apartment is kinda old (but recently renovated) and it’s got so many weird angles and quirks but in a cute charming way#like how in the sims weird shaped spaces improve your sim’s environmental happiness#anyway#eventually we’ll put more stuff on the walls too#there’s also a wet bar. we filled it with board games.#and oh oh the balcony faces southeast so my bbs get SO much sun my malabar spinach is THRIVING 💚#also also Books is suuuch a good housemate bless#i haven’t had to clean the bathroom once since we’ve been here#also also every friday can be… you know 😌

Everytime my plans fall through with someone my mom is finally gone all day, IDK why she’s on call for these 2 old ladies anyway they are rude as fuck

my apartment is way too cold and i do not have the energy to do anything but cry about it
#life stuff#three out of six radiators aren't giving any warmth#and the ones not currently working are in the kitchen bedroom and living room (living room has two so one of them is on at least)#kitchen is okay because it gets warm when i wash dishes or cook and i keep the kitchen door closed unless i'm in the room#but my bedroom is way too cold and if i want the bathroom radiator to help the rest of the apartment the bedroom door can't be fully open#i turned on the computer to use it and also it sometimes helps warm the room but my internet keeps disappearing#i want to scream

tonight i’m feeling the happiest on christmas eve i’ve been in maybe a decade. after months and months of health problems, hospitalization, money troubles, and devastating work stress, these past few days i’ve felt at peace and full of love and light.
my family is visiting me and my partner and we’re doing a joint christmas with my partner’s family and genuinely truly it’s the happiest i’ve been in so long. i feel like i’m flying
not just being around my family but having them embrace my life so wholeheartedly and embrace my partner’s life and family so wholeheartedly and all of us being here together. it’s everything i think
#i’m goin post!#could not give less of a shit about christmas#but the act of introducing my family to my life here#and the life i’ve built with my partner#and sharing with them all of the joys and pillars i have right now#and playing stupid board games and having four conversations overlapping at once#that all come back to the same point. and naming the first gator my mom’s ever seen in the wild timmy and ‘inviting’ him to dinner#and getting lost and trying to play it off but my mom instantly guessing i went the wrong way despite not knowing the right wat#and my little brother knocking on my bedroom door at midnight to ask if i can show him the stuff to make scrambled eggs in our kitchen#and my sister taking two goddamn hours to so her hair in our tiny bathroom#and running errands with my dad where he pokes fun at my parking job but praises my responsibility#i’m actually crying right now (tears of joy)#i’m so so so so so happy

One thing I do look forward to about in-person work for the first time in four and a half years, even if it's 28 miles of travel both ways right during the worst winter months, is I can't be my father's free Chore Servant when he's too busy (read: disorganized and lazy) to sort things before he leaves for the day
#just this morning the guy calls me eight minutes before my shift starts when I'm still in bed trying to wake up and goes#'oh by the way I didn't take the dogs outside can you handle that'#this is a process that takes five minutes normally#on top of the three to five i need to get dressed use the bathroom etc#AND one of the dogs is on medication right now#add another two#also this man was standing around in his kitchen this morning at seven chatting with his employee and his gf#he ABSOLUTELY could have taken them out#fucking prick#lucky i can clock in from my phone and my current employer is none the wiser#if he tries that shit with my new job in two weeks i will literally not be home by the time he calls#in fact i'm just gonna silence my phone.
