Kirbtober Day 2: Sub-Game
A real test of reflexes. Samurai Kirby is my second favorite subgame in Merry Magoland.

Movie Review: Silent Night
The husband picked this, it had a nice family group photo, he thought it was a .... more traditional holiday movie.
It is not.
And it wasn't the horror movie where you knew people would be killed in a terrible way. In this movie, it seems a poison was manufactured (I'm unclear if it was on purpose or a bi-product of something else) and released into the world. No cure, a quick and painful death. So the UK government designed a plan that included handing out pills, calling it "Die with Dignity" - where the citizens will take it, killing themselves, instead of enduring the painful death by poison.
Because we didn't know, the first 30 or so minutes it was fun, watching family and friends join together for the holiday. But then we learn of the reason for the gathering, it wasn't just Christmas. I said to the hubby "what the hell did you pick?" goodness, this is such a downer.
What would you do? If all reports and evidence show that there is no overcoming the poison. Do you take the pill to spare yourself? Or take the chance and not?
One of the characters was pregnant and she didn't want to kill her baby. Her partner says not taking the bill is causing her and their baby to die in agony. It is a dilemma.
They did try for some humor with the set of twins needing the exact same amount of drink; but I think it fell flat because at this point we've already seen one of the children suffer, alone. It was interesting to see the characters flip between forced manic happiness and fear of their life. I suppose that's the only way to do that when you know your life is about to end.
It's a well done movie but a total downer because... the son that died in agony, opened his eyes at the end. So what do we take that to mean? There was a theme throughout about being lied to, that it was the governments plan, it's all very unsettling. Good movies are sometimes like that I suppose.
