This drama takes a bit to get into, at least a good handful of episodes. What makes this drama so watchable, is the stunning powerful female performances of the all female lead cast. The storyline is like Search: WWW and Penthouse had a baby together. Yes sometimes it isn’t that well cohesive unfortunately and does enter that dragging territory but it can definitely keep you hooked if you’re looking for a good melodrama thriller.

daesung e bongcha se conheceram na faculdade, ela sendo dois anos mais velha e cursando arquitetura. ele, contabilidade. o pai de bongcha foi totalmente contra o namoro dos dois, porque tinha planos que a filha casasse com alguém de grande poder aquisitivo, que fosse agregar ao legado da família. no entanto, bongcha fez sua escolha. casou-se com o rapaz que veio de família simples. foi por conta do trabalho e dinheiro dela que chegaram ao status de família de classe média. ela sempre viu o quanto isso afetava o marido, que se esforçava demais no escritório de contabilidade para alcançar um bom status ali dentro e poder se tornar o principal provedor da casa. por isso, bongcha deixa que daesung tome todas as decisões. pelo bem do próprio casamento - segundo suas próprias crenças -, ela deu a ele esse poder.

juntos, tiveram dois filhos. sangho e nakyum, que têm três de diferença entre si. qualquer um que tenha mantido um olho na família ao longo dos anos, nunca viu nada demais, nada de extraordinário sobre eles. simpáticos, educados e vizinhos tranquilos. era exatamente isso que eles queriam que os outros vissem. e era exatamente isso, também, que acabou adoecendo o espírito de nakyum dentro da própria casa.

I do want to note that I have this horrible tendency to skip over massive chunks of tv shows if it doesn't hold my interest, makes me uncomfortable, second-hand embarrassment, and so on. A lot of these dramas I did that with I’ll make a note of which

Did Not Finish (don’t plan on finishing)

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim — felt a little drawn out to me even though I like both main actors. I have like an episode or two left.

It's Okay to Not Be Okay — ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know this has a huge fan base (at least I think) but I didn’t really like it. or the main female character

Into the Ring — couldn’t hold my attention. Also there was some law stuff involved? Thought it was a romcom

She Would Never Know — I love Rowoon but I didn’t like how creepy his character seemed in the first episodes

Run On — I only liked the main couple. It was easy to watch when the two couples weren’t super intertwined but when they all started to become friends it lost my attention because it’s wasn’t as easy

Did Not Finish (plan to eventually finish)

Extraordinary You — I’m taking a break from this one but I’m really enjoying it. I haven’t skipped through anything, even the parts that are embarrassing/stressful. I’m testing my ability to restrain myself

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo — rewatching this one rn but watching it all the way through without skipping stuff because I skipped through most of it the first time. I didn’t like the brother storyline.

Strong Woman Do Bong-soon — this one of my best friends favorite kdramas. She watched it around 2018 I think, so close to the OG release date. Some of the dialogue did not age well. I skipped over the side character stuff and stuck to the main storyline. I loved how soft the main guy was for Bong-soon.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One — destroyed me. This isn’t really a spoiler because you find it out within the first 10 minutes of watching. But they don’t end up together. This is drama I posted about where I was sobbing in my bed at 2:30 pm. I love it and hate it and I still don’t know what my feelings are towards it. If they ended up together it would be one of my favorites of all time. But they didn’t.

Hospital Playlist (1 + 2) — THIS is one of my favorites of all time. one of the few shows that I didn’t skip through anything. Season 1 is better than season 2 imo but it’s got that found family trope, the dialogue, the friendship, the FOOD. I swear that show made me hungry for things I know I wouldn’t like.

Alchemy of Souls — I like the fantasy aspect of it and I REALLY like the chemistry between Jung So-min and Lee Jae-wook (SPOILERS if you haven’t watched it all: I’m so upset that they’re changing the female lead. I wanted Somin to stay. Idk if I’ll continue watching because I stayed for her)

Fight for My Way — I only liked the main couple storyline. I didn’t care for the secondary couple.

Her Private Life — never really skipped over anything in this one either! I really liked that their relationship was really healthy and they talked about things that bothered them instead of getting mad and ignoring each other for 2 episodes.

A Business Proposal — I don’t really remember a whole lot about this I know that I didn’t finish it though. I have half of the last episode left. I don’t plan on finishing it but I’m putting it here because I remember that I enjoyed it and thought it was funny

Record of Youth — same reasoning as the one above

Lawless Lawyer — started skipping around episode 10. I really like Seo Yea-ji even though I didn’t like it’s okay to not be okay

Shooting Stars (stylized as Sh**ting Stars 😭) — watched mainly for Lee Sung-kyung (MC in weightlifting fairy). I wouldn’t have skipped through anything if they removed this one random plot line that came in around the halfway point. Might have been one of my top if they didn’t include it. OH thé Africa part was so problematic like wtf??

Because This is My First Life — I literally forgot to add this one. I watched it because of Jung So-min only.
