SPOILERS, DRUG, AND DEATH MENTIONS
3. All the other characters dont have great lives (Reginalds a serial killer, Crowven and Twyla have gangs, Theo dies, Zapara has a drug issue, etc) I think Marys life has the best circumstances of them all. Especially in the true end.

sephiroth prefers swords over guns. both have their pros and cons of course. it’s just that for him with a gun to have power over it, then there’s ammo and the trigger you gotta go through like, all you gotta do is pull the trigger and that person’s gone like a light bulb, or so metaphorically speaking. the joy of it for him is horribly short lived and he’ll get bored with it. and with a sword he gets to drag out the fighting and violence as long as he possibly sees fit. same as with killing someone, he has complete and total control over it. he likes the way it feels as the weight against his blade changes until there’s hardly weight at all.

— BIOGRAPHY
murder tw, killing tw
Callum Mortimer was born into money. The Mortimer's made their money thanks to Atticus Mortimer, his father, and the connections he kept tightly. Callum had been the first born of the Mortimer children with his sibling coming one year later and the two of the children could not be more different from each other. While his sibling had the smarts to try and stay away from his father's line of work Callum was fascinated by it and wanted to involve himself in it as much as possible. His father, of course, was more than eager to get at least one of his children in so all of his work could be left for Callum to pick up the moment he passed. Growing up the Mortimer children were forced to attend private schools, keeping them even more entangled in the web Atticus Mortimer had woven around his family. Unlike his sibling, Callum excelled in his classes. He was the pride of his professors and the jewel to further the family name in his father's eyes. When he was old enough to attended business affairs, Callum began to learn how to conduct business with his father's partners, how to speak the way they spoke, how to look for certain movements, catch on to certain words, and above all, he learned how to move quick. The only thing with him was that while his father dealt with the number side of things, Callum wanted more of the action side of things. He had a thirst, but he didn't quite know what could fulfill it. Then one night while he was at a meeting with his father something went terribly wrong, guns were pulled, and he had to step into action in order to save his father's life. It was only then, when he pulled his first trigger, did it finally click within Callum what he had been searching for; he wanted to be the person they asked to "take care of business" and to be the one to be able to say, 'i took care of it'. White it didn't happen overnight, because despite how connected his father was, Callum till had to work his way on up to the spot he wanted. Eventually, though, he landed right where he wanted to be with The Syndicate as a loyal Hitman for them. Although he may be loyal to The Syndicate, the charming man is anything but loyal to those outside of the gang. He's the kind of person who understands his charm and isn't afraid to use it to his advantage, especially when it can benefit him in his line of work, and he has used his charm to get people to trust him only for them to end up being on his target list. He does have a good heart underneath it all, but the guy can't remember the last time anyone cared to get that deep with him. He's funny, sarcastic, and overall friendly, but he'll hardly ever be mushy with anyone. There are a few, of course, who have slipped through the cracks and for only them would he lay his life down on the line.
HEADCANNONS:
He wants to be a father one day. Deep down he just wants to be able to provide for his future family. Truthfully, he doesn't believe it'll ever happen but on the off chance that it does, he'll be ready just in case.
He is a sucker for cats. He just loves them. He has a black girl cat named Matcha, and she's literally the love of his life. He spoils her rotten and would honestly wither away without her.
He feels zero remorse for anyone he's ever had to kill in the past. He truly sees his job as nothing more than just a job and if killing is part of then so be it. On the bright side, there are only about five people outside of The Syndicate he would kill for, so he's not out here trigger happy or anything.
He can be temperamental. He's working on it but sometimes he can flip a switch and lose his temper. He's also got a small jealousy problem, which only further adds to his temperament sometimes. He's working on the jealousy bit too.
He needs to be able to connect with someone before sleeping with them, so he doesn't really do one-night stands. He's more of a friends with benefits kind of guy, and he does enjoy spoiling his friends from time to time.
He has money but the guy doesn't really act like it when he's not on the job. He lives in a bit of a shitty apartment, that sometimes leaks when it rains too much, but it's comfortable to him.

BELLUM. headcanons time ! Marlowe doesn't fight for the manor in the same way as Bard or Mey
that is, they don’t use guns; they actually probably can’t even shoot a gun
they don’t even use brute force and bare fists like Finny does, but their style of protection is more similar to Finny than either Mey or Bard
Marlowe uses their stealth, and a knife.
they keep their footsteps quiet, they sneak around in the shadows, and they FOLLOW a threat; they were naturally stealthy anyway, but they’ve learned incredibly well from Sebastian in order to hone it, and now they operate just the way he taught them to, the way that he deals with intruders
if all goes perfectly, the intruder won’t know anyone is even there until Marlowe has their blade against the person’s throat
this means that they have more chance to speak with their target before destroying them, and that if an intruder is caught by Marlowe, they stand a very slim chance of survival compared to Bard or Mey
but it also means that if Marlowe decides to kill the intruder, it’s incredibly brutal. stabbing is personal and up close, and sometimes, if something about the intruder hits a nerve with Marlowe, they might go a little more overboard than necessary
in the early days, Sebastian once found Marlowe sobbing after the first time they killed an intruder, some horrible woman who apparently reminded them of their mother, having put about twenty holes into her with their knife
while they always regret it when they let themself go THAT far, they just have so much anger inside them that when faced with something or someone which could harm their new life or their friends or their master, sometimes… they just vent that anger
it’s horrifying to watch, but it’s also a bit sad, this person who was never loved and who was rejected by the world, having finally found the place where people accept and love them, still consumed by rage to the point that they occasionally let it swallow them whole and protect the manor with overkill
I’m sure Sebastian just shakes his head when they do this, tsking and saying they still have a lot to learn
and their going overboard isn’t necessarily right, but in some ways it’s very understandable, and when one knows everything there is to know about Marlowe Flynn, it makes it terribly easy to feel sorry for them.

Defense does take many forms, actually, Chozen.
It rubs me the wrong way how Cobra Kai makes Mr. Miyagi not teaching Daniel how to kill into some kind of "gotcha", as if that's the logical conclusion of mastering any martial art. And even if it was:
Mr. Miyagi was a draft dodger turned probably very reluctant soldier. This reeks of "sign up or languish in a concentration camp" to me. He had a wife to take care of and this may well have been the only way open to him to at least send her either money, or, on his death, a pension.
We know he killed, a fact he commemorates once a year by getting stupidly drunk.
I've said this very recently in another post - those Cobra boys did learn to kill, even if they may not have known it, and they were dangerously close to doing that before he intervened.
Now I ask you. Is he going to teach a school boy, or even a young man, how to kill?
Of course not!
"Sometimes you have no choice but to kill", yes, Chozen, of course you've trained soldiers, but Miyagi was trying to keep Daniel from being killed, not train him for an invasion. (Especially not because the boy already has a murder switch.) Miyagi is the only one who seems to have realised what it would have meant for teenage Johnny Lawrence to have taken a life over a bit of teasing.
Taking someone's life has a terrible cost and if you don't feel that anymore, you can't be a functioning human. "Maybe he thought you were not ready. Or not able." Screw you, Toguchi. Mr. Miyagi was training Daniel to not get his ass kicked in a mugging. Had Daniel been drafted, he'd sooner have smuggled him to Japan than let him go to war. Only under the same circumstances that he was forced into battle would he have taught Daniel how to kill in self defense. Had this young boy known under any other circumstances, somebody would have ended up very dead and Daniel would have been in jail. The only reason Miyagi ultimately taught him anything was the fact that Daniel would have gotten into fights whether he taught him or not, and at least like this, Daniel might escape with his health somewhat intact.
Yes, Mr. Miyagi was trying to protect him, because nobody is ready to know how to kill. I mean seriously, do you think Kreese and Silver should be in "Mental Health Monthly"?
The only people who glorify knowing how to kill are either those who've never done it or those who've not recovered from it.

ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST
Ghost Kids When They Were Kidnapped
You ask and you shall receive. I'm not including the uh... The certain inappropriate stuff because no. Listen I don't know the time frame of the kidnappings so I don't know if Max was there the whole time, but let's pretend he was.
Not proofread.
Kidnapping TW, anxiety, breakdowns, etc. Violence and child murder/death. Torture. Do NOT read this if you have an inkling that you may be triggered. This gets dark.
Griffin
This boy was the first and the youngest of the group. He has no way of knowing there was about to be a serial kidnapper and killer going around, nor that he would be the first target. I feel like The Grabber would have been more anxious about the kidnapping and therefore would've killed Griffin sooner.
Albert Shaw would've taken Griffin while he was on his way home from school, just like everyone else. I feel like Griffin lived a good way out of town, so he usually got the car or bus to and from school. That day, however, he was practicing walking part of the way home on his own. It was only when he didn't complete the trip to his mother's work was he reported missing. Griffin was definitely the easiest to kidnap, being the smallest and lightest and the one who never had a chance of knowing what was about to happen.
But for the short time that he was there he screamed and cried his lungs and heart out. All Griffin wanted was to go home. He didn't care if he couldn't report the Grabber, and he tried to tell him that, but he wouldn't listen. I also feel like The Grabber used to be a lot more outwardly cruel (though he still was by the end) towards his victims, so he probably beat Griffin up a few times just for the hell of it. However, Griffin's death was probably the quickest out of everyone, since the Grabber just wanted to job done. It's because he was there not very long that he knows Finney doesn't have much time.
Billy
With a little experience under his belt, Albert Shaw felt a little more confident in taking his next victim. However, he hadn't yet become known amongst the community for who he was to become, so Billy was still pretty calm about the situation. Everyone assumed it was just a one-off incident.
As we know, Billy was the exception to the 'picked up after school' pattern; he was kidnapped while doing the morning paper run. I feel like Billy had specifically trained his dog not to run over to people or bark while on the paper run as to not disturb the people, which happened to be pinnacle in his demise. I feel like it happened right when he finished doing the papers. The Grabber had memorised his routine and swooped in at the last moment to 'offer a ride him for those tired legs'. We all know what happened next.
Once Billy was down in the basement, he was immediately trying to scream for help. The Grabber informed him that wasn't going to work, so he decided to escape. He had heard Max calling his brother from upstairs, which is why he tried to climb the stairs; he was looking for Max. But he didn't find Max (despite Max apparently never sleeping due to being high. IDK how that worked). He found The Grabber upstairs, and was killed for it. His death was also pretty quick, but the beating that happened before it was much longer.
Vance
Vance was easily the hardest to kidnap. But he was also easy to convince The Grabber wasn't a threat. Vance never believed he'd let himself get kidnapped; he would beat the life out of whoever tried. So when the Grabber approached him as he was walking the long trip home from school, he didn't suspect anything. That was until he was hit on the head with a 2 x 4 piece of timber before getting the spray can trick.
Once Vance was in the basement, he for once didn't react with physical violence. Because he isn't dumb, you know. He knew acting up would get himself in trouble. So, he just worked on his escape plan until The grabber found the massive dent in the wall.
Vance definitely put up a fight. He used all the remaining strength he had (remember, The Grabber fed his victims little as to weaken them) to do damage to his kidnapper. But The Grabber had a knife, and as Vance put his hands on Albert's shoulders to try and push him away, he was promptly stabbed. The death was brutal. I imagine Max was out so The Grabber took all the time he needed taking out all that pent-up anxiety on poor Vance.
Bruce
Okay, so by the time Bruce was kidnapped everyone knew who The Grabber was. And Bruce was probably the hardest to coerce into getting near Albert simply because the boy had basic stranger danger training. But Bruce was also a very friendly guy, so in the end he crumbled and agreed to help The Grabber with whatever was going on in the back of his van (The Grabber was purposefully vague about it). Bruce had a horrible gut feeling, but he ignored it in favour of being kind.
Once he was in the basement, he immediately began to cry and berate himself. I mean, he had a gut feeling; why didn't he just listen to it? That was what was going through his head at the time. He was scared - so scared - as were everyone else before and after him, but Bruce definitely let it show the most. He eventually got control of himself, though, and began is escape plan.
Only, he was caught right as he had started. Bruce had begged for mercy, for anything. He was willing to do literally almost anything to get out of there. He was willing to let The Grabber cut off a limb while he was awake if that's what he wanted. But The Grabber liked knowing he had control, so he instead made it as painful as possible. Bruce was crying (I mean, they all cried, but he cried the most) and continued begging for mercy. But he never got it.
Robin
Robin, as we know, was snatched while he was on his way to the store from school. I feel like Robin didn't fall for the classic 'want to see a magic trick?' trick because The Grabber had specifically approached him. And Albert probably knew that; he had heard the kid's reputation and saw the way he presented himself and just knew. So, he decided to approach Robin while he was still a little ways' off the store and attack him there. Robin may have been strong, but he wasn't strong enough to get a fit, full-grown adult off of him.
Once he was in the basement, he tried to take the most calm and intelligent route. However, he just couldn't get a good escape plan going. So, he decided he'd just have to fight his way out. But that was difficult too, since he was barely being fed enough to stay alive. In the end, Robin ended up falling for the open door trick. He was at the end of his rope and just needed a lifeline, which was exactly what he wasn't going to get.
By then The Grabber was confident in his skills. Robin only lasted a good few days before caving and going up the stairs. Because of his confidence, Albert Shaw took as much time as he wanted bringing Robin the most pain possible. It was horrible. All the deaths were horrible. None of them deserved it. And all Robin could think about as he was dying was how he was never going to see his family again. Never going to see his friends again. How it would impact Finney's bullying. How it would impact his family. As he said, his father never came home, and now he wouldn't either.
