I know it’s probably been said before but as an artist I can’t help but praise the character design of encanto
Like look at this whole cast of characters who are all related to eachother and still so distinct! One of my all time favorite facts about this movie is that the family are color coordinated! I love that so much because not only does it make it easier for the audience to tell which character comes from what side of the family but it’s also visually appealing!
Also the fact everyone’s outfit contains symbolism relating to their gift!? genius. and mirabels skirt being her own personal scrapbook where you can see she has everyone’s symbol a clever way to display her genuine pride for her family! Isabelas dress being closer to almas magenta than the other members of julietas family emphasizing shes closer with alma and is seen as her successor! I especially love how after “what else can I do?” She changes her dress colour to a dark blue representing that she’s finally found herself and doesn’t want to be just almas clone! She feels more comfortable with her own family and shows it by representing their color!
Also let’s talk about how pepas family all wear warm hues as shown to be bright, fun and ultimately happy. Which makes a lot of sense considering how pepas gift requires her to be happy all the time to avoid “bad weather”. Her family also wear warm tones to possibly help her maintain this and also because compared to what we see in the movie pepas children have a little less pressure and are considered more fun to be around! Also the fact green and magenta are opposite colors on the color wheel and Bruno and alma have a strained relationship. genius.
I just want to appreciate the character design because I feel like it’s just so creative and has had so much thought and heart put into it <3

What I said: “If I were to make a LMK oc, I was thinking that maybe should make a character with a butterfly motif.”
What I actually mean: Make an Encanto x LMK crossover or at least make a Mirabel inspired oc. But for now have an Encanto x LMK crossover because I think they should hang out.
Bruno goes back inside the walls to do dress rehearsals for his rat telenovelas in private, but he forgets that there are now two nosy mfs in Casita with really good hearing. (Macaque would love Bruno’s rat telenovelas. You can’t change my mind.)
Sandy enjoys being able to understand how much Mo loves him through Antonio’s gift.
Julieta and Pigsy trade recipes. Julieta picks up hand-pulled noodles like a pro because of course she does, but Pigsy is apprehensive on the method flipping arepas with his bare hands… hooves… like he saw Julieta do.
Muscular softies (Sandy’s so hard to draw 🥲)
Camilo and MK have a shapeshifting competition, but Camilo gets humbled real quick by the Monkey King.
I wanted to make another drawing of Mirabel embroidering a dragon on a jacket for Mei, but I’m too tired.

Bruno is odd. He is weird. I expect he got bullied by other children a lot.
Sometimes Pepa I imagine would lose her temper with her brother. Not that she doesnet love him but she dident always understand him, and she is shown to have a temper... BUT I also believe she would be the first to defend him, always.

Antonio had instructed and trained a melanistic jaguar to act as a seeing-eye-animal. He names her Chia.
Ramiro was born with congenital cataracts. Which due to being born to poor parents, they were unable to get him the surgery in time to avoid permanent damage.
When he was young he could sense some light and shapes, but as he aged all he could sense was movement. He wears the glasses due to light sensitivity, but also he has been assured they are particularly cool looking.
Ramiro has an appreciation for fashion like Elena. When she started making, or buying clothes for him. Not only did she choose fabrics that had interesting textures (or Mirabel adding embroidery), but Agustin had it impeccably tailored. He can't see the final look, but he likes the compliments he gets.
Ramiro doesn't receive his gift right away, but rather when he feels he is truly a Madrigal.
His gift is empathetic touch, which allow him to sense emotions tied to objects. But it also allow him to communicate directly with Casita.

Encanto prompt: Bruno getting a song from the future stuck in his head.
"Hey now, you're an all star, get your game on, go play. Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid. And all that glitters is gold...ARGH!" Bruno abruptly stopped singing to himself, tugging frustratedly on his hair. "Stupid song!"
"What song is that?" Camilo asked, snickering. Bruno had been humming and singing quietly to himself the entire morning, and his uncle didn't seem too happy about the strange song the longer it stayed in his head.
"I don't know," Bruno said, knocking on his forehead as if to banish the song. "I heard it in a sleep vision last night and it's been stuck in my head all morning. It's driving me nuts!"
"The future has some catchy tunes," Camilo said with a smirk. Bruno scowled at him.
"Trust me, kid," he said. "This one's at least fun when it's not driving me crazy. But some of the others I've heard? Pure garbage."

Tumblr won't let me edit the image sizes and shapes, rude, click through to read. Just moved and I can’t for the life of me find my cables to connect my tablet to my laptop, so here’s a very rough (not quite) little thing that came to me in the shower. I did it in pen, cuz if I had the chance to fix my mistakes I'd obsess over them and probs never finish this. Inspired by the fact that Amada and Gabriel have a very soap opera type backstory, while Octavia’s is pretty simple.

Tw: Blood (nothing bad just a little cut.), platonic yandere, unhealthy obsession, yandere themes?
Running carelessly as the kid you were, you tripped. You sat up, looking at your now battered knee. A single scratch covered it, a little blood coming from it.
You whimpered at the sight of it, this wasn't the first time you had gotten a cut. You had fell many other times, also doing various other things that had made you hurt yourself. You were known as a accident prone child.
You then heard the voice that always comforted you, Brunos.
"Hey, Are you alright pequeño?" Bruno asked as he squatted down next to you, rubbing circles on your back to comfort you as he always did. You shaked your head fastly, answering as a quick no.
"Lets go back to Casita and get some of Julietas food!" Bruno said in a cheery voice, "Ok!" You said with a smile, walking with Bruno until you arrived at the house that looked like a castle to you.
Casita.
"C'mon, lets go in." Bruno said, pulling your hand forward gently. In a motion to go forward, you followed him into the kitchen, frantically looking around until he found one of his sisters arepas.
He handed it to, you of course taking it. After eating it, just like that. the cut and bruises were gone.
"There you go! See, all gone!" Bruno said in a little voice that made you giggle.
"Now what do you think of icecream?"
(Sorry if this wasn't good, I suck at writing platonic yandere. In my opinion they just don't really seem like a yandere in some cases, but again thats just what I think.)
