Thank you to Harringrove fans for coming together and creating this amazing fic starter pack and to our endlessly talented creators for giving us so much to choose from! Forty-one votes were cast and across the 119 nominations, the number of votes received by the fics overall amounted to 397 (!!!!). The chosen fics had a combined total of 126 votes. Steve takes a second to feel relieved it's not Dustin getting all sorts of arrested in places he shouldn’t be, then he goes back to staring.
It's Billy, who looks as good now as he did the last time Steve saw him: three years ago. He looks just as complicated, too. He’s got bruises on his face, a split lip.
The officer clears her throat, slowly, awkwardly, and Steve realizes they’ve been staring at each other for a while, now. He imagines, for a moment, saying that he doesn’t know this person, this stranger, pretending that Billy Hargrove was someone he used to know and kind of remembers, but--no, he’s not willing to sign for him, or whatever. To vouch for him. “Mr. Harrington?” the officer prompts.
Steve runs a hand through his hair. “Steve,” he corrects, a little absently. “Yeah, I’ll--yeah. Do you have a form, or something?”
Three years later, Steve Harrington signs Billy Hargrove out of a police station. This, it turns out, is only the beginning.

#10 for the Harringrove ask! What is one of your favorite Harringrove fanworks of all time? (fanfic, fanart, fanvids, meta, etc.) It can be your own works or anyone you like :)
Oh there are so many to choose from. This fandom is full of talented people, and I hope that never changes. I'm a little biased about this because when I first started shipping Billy & Steve I asked a friend IRL to send me her favorites. That first half dozen or so of fics I read are still my favorites today lol and some of their authors I would swear by, they're just always that good. They are: lymricks, Pondermoniums, and harringroveheart.
Seventh Inning Stretch by jill_ian on A03 is one series I have to shout out because it's my most reread according to A03. It does the rivals to lovers part of Harringrove so damn well. I love how they capture the characters and their romantic arc just feels so real, you could call down to the dorm and one of them would pick up. Plus it's a baseball au so *chefs kiss*. I'm not sure if the author has a tumblr otherwise I'd tag, but there you have it.

Ice wasn’t totally sure whose idea it was. The party down at the beach to celebrate the last term of 1989.
The way he figured, it didn’t really matter. Whose idea it was.
All that mattered was that he got an invite. A quick, “Hey, Ice. Bonfire down at the beach later. BYOB,” while Dodger and Cobra passed him in the hall on a Friday morning in mid-November and an easy “You going to the party later?” while Mav was between sharp bites of an apple during lunch that same afternoon.
This is so soft and good, I love it when characters share clothes and what it reveals about them in the sharing - and this fic did not disappoint!

Maverick and Iceman spend a summer's day on a private beach.
This fic is so sweet and good, I love the flirting and cuddling and how very, very fond of each other Mav and Ice are here 🥺

One of the icemav fics of all time!! Mav tying Ice up is just soooo very good, and the author does it so well here

The next day, when Mav wakes up sweaty, with his stomach panging and his emotions on an absolute hair-trigger, he figures he has to get it out of the way.

I really enjoyed all the plane facts throughout this - it's obvious that the author really is a pilot. It really adds to the story and characters super nicely!

Tragedy first brings Iceman into Bradley’s life, but he quickly becomes the steadiest presence of the boy’s childhood… until a betrayal tears their small family apart. After years of silence, can Bradley find the words to make up for lost time?
Five times Ice sings to Bradley, and the one time Bradley sings to Ice.
A phenomenal read that I would truly recommend to anyone interested in Ice and Bradley's relationship, as it's the true star of the show here. It also has a sequel which I equally recommend.

A New Type of Fanfic Game
Hello!! So @theabyssofdeathandexistence tagged me in the game to rec 5 of your favorite fics you have written. But I've already done that for all the fics I truly, deeply love. I also see a lot of stuff about fics getting lost or not getting enough feedback and that breaks my heart. So while I love self-love, I also love fandom love. So without further ado, here are five fics (and authors) that inspire me and make me want to be a better writer! (in no particular order)
You're Cold and I Burn by @keroujack (jill_ian on AO3). I just love this fic, it's a revelation for me, it's beautiful and intriguing and I remember speed-reading it just to get to the payoff and it's so, so worth it. Beautiful, brilliant, it has truly stuck with me.
As certain dark things are to be loved by @gideongrace (same on AO3). This fic is the S4 we deserved with a sprinkling of the S2 and S3 we deserved. Steve, Billy, and Robin being friends and Billy going to the ends of the Earth for Steve? Breathtaking. It lives on my Kindle for eternity now.
If Snow Loves the Trees and Fields by @passivenovember (nervoussis on AO3). I love this fic, it's soft and understated and the emotions of it reach into my soul and scrape it out. It's really the definition of "The Grumpy One is Soft for the Sunshine One" and I am very excited to see where it is going!
Pinch Me by @chrisbitchtree (softhargrove on AO3). My darling friend has done it again! I am so intrigued by this story, I love burnout!Steve with my whole heart and I desperately need to know what is going to happen next.
Don't Leave Me (Hanging on the Telephone) by @cherrydreamer (Glitter_Bug on AO3). We are so close to the end and it has been a beautiful journey. I love the concept, I think it's genius and follows the S1 experience of Will with a Billy flair. It's also what we deserve in S4 and I consider it canon.
