cannot emphasize enough just how much i ADORE that the obi wan-leia dynamic consists of only about ten minutes passing before obi wan is speaking to her in his “anakin for the love of fucking god PLEASE” voice and only about ten minutes more before leia gives him a goddamn heart attack

I was afraid that Disney would make Kenobi just another blockbuster show with lots of fighting and dramatic scenes with realisations on the level of a twelve year old child. But what I like about the show is the sheer longing and bitterness it’s filled with, the ghostly feeling that follows Obi-Wan everywhere he goes. All the reminders of Anakin that clearly still pierce his heart silently, the lightsabers, the begging clone from the 501st, Luke and Leia with so much from Padme and Anakin in them it hurts…. I love seeing how broken Obi-Wan is, how Anakin’s fall truly changed him and made him a different man. I love the way he struggles to reconnect with the Force because he has been shutting it out for so long, and the way his heart stops and breaks when he learns that Anakin has survived. He isn’t the charming, witty, powerful Jedi Master anymore and he isn’t the old hermit whose wounds don’t hurt with such immeasurable pain anymore, he is a tired, lonely, broken man. Arghhhhhh

In Revenge of the Sith, why does Obi-Wan leave Anakin there to suffer, after cutting him to pieces? It seems un-Jedi not to put his son out of his misery? This was answered in Matthew Stover's "Revenge of the Sith" novelization:“Obi-Wan looked down. It would be a mercy to kill him.He was not feeling merciful.

WHAT IS FIGHT CLUB?
Y’all remember when Ewan said sumn like. “When I saw Hayden as Anakin. I didn’t even see his age. I just saw Anakin. Everything froze and it was just Anakin.” Well, finally got how he felt. Cause, my buddy and I rewatched this episode for Christensen- maybe 3-4 times. And by the 4th rewatch. My buddy goes. “Dude holy shit they didn’t fucking use the deaging cgi shit.”
I said. “Nah bruh you’re joking.”
“Nah dude deadass look.” Like, this man mf Christensen still is Anakin to my Buddy and I. We didn’t even see his age. We just saw Anakin. Our childhood.

I'm not gonna lie. The concept of Base Inquisitorious going without shields because they're so fucking smug about the notion of someone attacking them is really hilarious. Sith have such big egos that it always comes back to bite them in the ass.

It is how you say, weird (ie racist undertones), to make a black woman the most impulsive and angry of the Inquistors

I can’t focus I can’t think all I can see is obi-wan seeing anakin turn to him on that hill in the middle of these barren fields that were once lush and green and full of families and growth and life. and they’re desolate now. and the only family there is a broken one. and the only growth there is parasitic imperial settlement. and standing there in the middle of it is a man who, for all intents and purposes, hasn’t been living much of a life at all. and the little girl beside him, the last little speck of hope growing up like a sprout of green amongst the ashes.
and she turns to him. and anakin turns to him.

what I want to see in the kenobi show
Tumblr media
cody cody cody cody cody cody
LOTS of padme flashbacks or mentions of padme
obiwan talking about how similar luke is to his mother
BABY LEIA (not sure how this is gonna fit in but one can hope)
angsty distrought anakin and lots of good ol' fashond paplpatine manipulation
I want obiwan to befriend a team of girl bosses because that would be sick
mention of ahsoka or maybe even a teen ahsoka flashback
luke having a fascination with wondering off and getting himself into a little bit of trouble that gives everyone a heart attack
basically just lots of stuff that would be a call back to the clone wars series
oh my god what if space whore shows up (maul)
I knowww a live action bad batch makes no sense and doesn't really match up with the timeline but this is a list of what I want not a list of what i actually think is going to happen
LOTS OF SICK ASS LIGHTABER DUELS

Reva’s hatred of the other Inquisitors makes so much sense now. She doesn’t just hate them because they’re cruel to her (though they absolutely are), she hates them because they failed her too. She’s probably the youngest Inquisitor, she wasn’t even a padawan when Order 66 happened. The others were adults (or at least padawans) who Fell. She blames Obi-Wan for not stopping Vader, and he wasn’t even in the Temple. You know who was in the Temple?
The Grand Inquisitor. A former Temple guard.
No wonder she hates them all.

A thing I adore about this show is that it’s really reinforcing how attuned Obi-Wan is to the living Force. He seems to really experience genuine visceral discomfort whenever it’s disrupted by death or darkness.

I’ve got you.
This is from Waypoint, which I wrote shortly after watching the first couple episodes of the Kenobi show.  I just think it’d be nice if Cody could show up and help him out, y’know?
